| Welcome to the UTAforum! UTAU is a Japanese voice-synthesis program used to create singing vocals for music. I prefer to advertise the program. That way I say that I'm working on several voices for it and then divert attention back to what UTAU does. I want more people I know to get involved. I don't name drop my Utauloids to non-utau/vocaloid- involved folk at all unless people ask or if I show them a youtube upload as an example. Why should I? I haven't finished the art! When I am done, I will probably do what I did with my last cover and post it as a video response to the original tracks on youtube. I also plan on getting KAITO so a few uses of my Utauloids as backing vocals or duets would probably be another option. I'm not really that fussed. I listen to not very popular music so I don't mind making not very popular music. But if it DOES become well known I wouldn't mind that either. Edited by Faliat, Sep 8 2011, 06:33 AM.

IMO, there are different ways that people spam their utauloid. There is the horribly blunt way of pushing your utau onto people and telling them to DL their bank and draw them. Then there is the way of simply TALKING about your utau 24/7. Both are just as bad as the other. People don't want to talk about your utau 24/7. People dont want to talk about Utau 24/7 period. If EVERY time you are skypeing/iming ect someone and its ONLY to talk about utau, that is as far as that relationship will EVER go. People will honestly get sick of it and lose all will to talk to you, and it can ruin a relationship before it even begins. It's ok to bring your utau up a little bit, maybe asking for advice, that sort of thing. But CONSTANTLY referring to your utau is nothing short of obnoxious. People need to realize that there is a difference between talking about their utau between their friends and between people who are 'sort of your friends'. The people who you are mildly acquaintances with DONT want to hear about your utau. they want to get to know YOU. and if you dont try to make that bond, then they certainly wont care about your utauloid. IMO, your utau should speak for itself. DONT expect attention coming onto your utauloid if you dont do anything with it outside of name spam. put EFFORT into it. If your utau is appealing, people will use it. if people dont care for your utau, reevaluate the art/design. then if still nada look at the voice. because yes, ART MATTERS. All you should need to do is plug your utau when you do something with it. Made him/her sing? Post it around on the forums, tumblr, VO, twitter. thats all fine. Just dont devote EVERY WAKING HOUR OF THE DAY to simply TALKING about your utau. People will get annoyed, I have seen it happen. |

I share my songs in Youtube and I tell about my new videos in Vocaloid/UTAU forums. Plus I'll start trying to be active in UTAU forums, projects etc. I'm little worried that I have over added my songs in forums, but I need to more careful.. (Y) |

I normally just post the songs up on YouTube and if the topic comes up when talking with someone that I have an UTAU, and they ask to hear, /then/ I show them. Ah, sure, my videos don't get hardly any views, but it's all good and fine. c: |

I have a Tumblr that I use (and reblog it onto my main account) with new videos when I post them. I do add the tags "utau" and "amaryllis faye" to the posts, but never "amaryllis" because I don't want to bother the people that want to look at flowers! |
