Personally, to configure the VC combinations, I like to have the consonants followed by silent, instead of a vowel. It makes easier, and you don't have to go cutting sounds. And you can ever have longer consonants, what could be useful.

There are only two ways (that I know) to record CV VC: in strings, OR in single syllalbes.

it's not hard.

> no cutting sound
The "cutting it short" is present in every decently OTO'd bank.

Ah, personally, I think CV-VC can sound pretty good if effort is put into it, but, to each their own, I guess.

Anyway, I think that this is a quite intriguing idea, but, the thing is, I think it's just easier and more convenient for the ol' hard drive if you just made the banks separately, and then let people choose from CV, VCV, and CV-VC. Because, let's face it, most people don't really use all three types. But, I'm sure there is at least a few people that do use all three types of voicebank, so it could be a pretty interesting experiment, at the least.

I finally found a big problem in that whole thing: the aliases.
If I put cv-vc and cv together in one oto.ini there would be problems because there would be two different oto'd cv-samples with the same alias T.T

That does mean, I can't do one voicebank with 3 voicebank types in one oto.ini, but maybe two oto.ini's in the voicebank folder, so that you can switch if needed or make separated voicebanks with 2 voicebank types.
If I did the latter, I could choose between VCV/CV and VCV/CV-VC.

I think I will make and VCV/CV voicebank with an additional oto.ini for cv-vc and a second voicebank with two oto.ini's for cv-vc and cv.

hm...after that I could maybe compare the file sizes. I wonder how they would vary because of the vcv strings. I'd say the vcv bank would be about as big as a normal vcv bank, the only different thing would be the oto.ini's...the cv-vc/cv voicebank would be smaller than an average cv voicebank, but bigger than a normal cv-vc...

O_O I don't get it... there shouldn't be any difference in the CV otoing for normal CV or CV VC. at least, mine isn't different, and works fine in both.

in cv-vc ALL samples have preutterance 40 and Overlap 20 when you do it like PaintedCz did in her cv-vc tutorial. but in cv I oto the different consonant types in a different way...and I don't want to change that since it works so well for me. How do you oto cv-vc?
