Uh...yeah. Two questions, actually. Actually, not even questions. Concerning NicoNico Douga/NicoNico.com accounts Basically, it's been my understanding from reading around the old OSUF that it's not really a good idea to get a Nico account unless you're actually good at UTAU. The consensus seems to be that if you're an overseas user, then you shouldn't post to Nico if you're an amateur. That being said, I've also heard Nico also has its share of crap UTAUloids/UTAU work. Now for the dumb question... Concerning VO accounts ...I'm going to go ahead and guess I'm wrong, but people *have* said (not specifically to me) that there really isn't a point unless you work with Vocaloid too. Because its DURR! Vocaloid Otaku. Thoughts? |

For both things, it really depends on whether you're ready. NicoNicoDouga has its share of amateurs, too! However, I waited until Waizu's Act 3 to start posting her there--because I didn't feel like I was ready. VO has an UTAU section for a reason--a lot of people hang around there, and there are other subforums to hang out at. A lot of UTAU users even post in the News section, which primarily shows off the new Vocaloids. So really, it just depends on when you feel ready. |

Ehh...I've always felt a bit intimidated when it comes to posting on Japanese Nico for the sole reason that my Japanese is so limited it's...scary. I was going to start posting my best works on the English one though starting with either From Y to Y or Anti the Infinite Holic(already redid the art for Anti the Holic just for the occasion). Every place is going to have it's share of crap UTAU though. They're just easier to find on youtube cause it's in English. I'm sure if my Japanese was tighter I'd be able to find some on Nico. As far as Vocaloid Otaku goes...I just lurk there from time to time and it's really only like the news section. EDIT: So for me...it was really a language thing XD I didn't feel comfortable posting on a Japanese site if my Japanese is...bleh. So I'll probably start posting up on the English one. It's kinda imtimidating for me to post on NND too. I was worried they might think my UTAU has a bad accent or is just bad in general. There's also the fact that if they make fun of her, I may never know. You never do know how it turns out though. I was very surprised when I posted my newcomer video that she got a lot of positive feedback and a mention on the UTAU rankings. So I'd say post a video and see how it turns out before posting more. But, I don't really like the bit rate that NND allows :/ Edited by moonst4r, Oct 30 2011, 09:59 PM.

Nico's bit rate is literally the only thing keeping me from posting more videos right now. I could care less at this point if some people dislike Aiko, because I have a feeling that despite any trolling there might be, that somewhere someone might appreciate her. So I think it's worth the shot. Trolls will be trolls in any language, right? As for VO... who the hell said that? It's not VocaloidUser.com. It's VocaloidOtaku.com. It's meant for Vocaloid fans, not just creators. And there's an UTAU section on there anyway, which is entertaining to browse at times. If you like Vocaloid as well as UTAU, I don't see why not! I'd bet 90% of members on there have never even touched the Vocaloid software. |

Well, personally if I had a Nico account, it's because it was required for the contest of Lapis' voicer seeking (yes, I was masochist to participate and plus to go on a website where I was scared to go before because of my weak Japanese orz) I'll upload my UTAUs when they'll be ready or at least sounding enough decent Same for my covers even if my voice goes a bit better I won't go on VO because amongst the nice people I know who are there, there's a lot of immature, trolling, perverted and full of themselves people No offense >.<"' but each time I'm spying a thread there, that's always what I see, always pointless argue -and even worse than all the sh!t that happend here, it's very sad to say that T_T-, always perverts pictures, always one person very haughty -and whatever the class, even the people supposed being mature or act politely because they represent a big stuff aren't very nice and honest at all x_x"' - etcetc Plus I don't have any Vocaloid T_T"' And even not in the form I won't say the name because the rule stipulates it's not a good thing to quote it publicly |

It helps to know a bit of Japanese on NicoNIco JP. At least some Katakana knowledge so you can at least understand the words that are borrowed from English (Like Login). I know a teeny tiny bit of Kanji, too. So I have some reading ability. I'm TERRIBLE at writing, though. But it doesn't really matter if you just do covers of other utau/vocaloid tracks and don't really make your own until you're confident enough in speaking ye olde Nihongo or if there isn't much sung anyway. Lol. It's fine to be on it if you can't anyway. You can use an English NicoNico login on the Japanese one so just wait until the English one is up and running well enough. |
