Hey going through some of my failed voicebanks, (trying to salvage a feeling of nostalgia) I came across a voice bank that actually came out pretty well. So I was wondering if you guys made any UTAU that you thought were fail while trying to make another UTAU but you ended up using. :sing:

Fun fact - Viai Emine was an accident. I was originally aiming to record a VCV bank for Kii at first.

Kaisho was born by accident. Well, her concept had ben around, but I wasn't going to actually make her...until I tried to make the voicebank I was working on at the time have octave downs, and they were WAY too mature. So I went "lol, Kaisho", and recorded even lower.

And then her VCVs almost became another UTAU. They're recorded at the same pitch as her CVs, but for a long while they didn't sound like her so I almost made it another UTAU. The end product sounded just like her, though, so I left it as intended - as Kaisho.

When I first derped into UTAU, I was going to release a male voicebank. I recorded the whole thing... And lost it forever. (That is, until the UTAU later named Fukasa was already released.) I was such a n00b.

Then I was all like "Screw this" And suddendly Fukai.

Fukasa (The current one) was supposed to be a Dark Fukai Append. My brother was playing vidya games in the background and the dryer was going off, and I was like "lol okay" and Fukasa was born.

Bad idea on my end, honestly, but I'm in it for the joys of UTAU, really.
We were told that there would be cake.

I haven't used it for anything yet, but I did this. I was just having fun and recording things the night I recorded my strong voicebank, and so I recorded a voicebank in falsetto. It's silly because I'm a girl who does falsetto, so I was assuming it would be bad or at least funny.

I was going to call it a "Falsetta Append" as a joke for my UTAU, Halt, but then it sounded... like... something else. Like a little girl, or maybe a little boy. I don't even. And usually when I derp a voicebank, I just throw it in my derp voicebank folder and never speak of it again. But it sings pretty well, somehow. I'm calling it Alsett and keeping it around.

Weeaboo was supposed to be a one-off joke.

The reaction to him was tremendous and next thing you know I am working on him again, have an original in the works, and an ExtenZed bank in the pipeline.

So I guess intentionally terrible Japanese is considered 'good' these days?
