| Welcome to the UTAforum! UTAU is a Japanese voice-synthesis program used to create singing vocals for music. It is much like the more popular, commercially sold Vocaloid products, but UTAU is freeware! To learn more about UTAU and various UTAU voices/characters, you can click here. To me it seems that those (overseas users) who have/are skilled in MMD only use them to mimic dances while cover a song ( happy synthesizer, Matryoshka, ect.) Has anyone ever thought about making episodes like the Japanese users do with things like this [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWlqyDxh6Ws[/utube] Not only would it be fun to watch but also you would be able to display your utauloid(s) personality. If I had and knew how to work the program (and had my utauloids a model), I would definitely start making utau mini series >,>. Another thing (if possible). Couldn't you make a 3D game with MMD? I think that would be the most awesome thing ever pulled out the fandom wouldn't you? It could be like CN fusion fall or FF. Just some wishful thinking with MMD ^.^ |

I know some people who try to do it. They're generally short, though. I've been working on learning to animate in MMD recently, but. Well. It's -really- time consuming to animate with it and get anything decent. Four hours only got me this far: http://youtu.be/vE2DZiiSM6s ![]() Anyways. If you poke around, some OSers have made little tiny clips and stuff. I dunno if you can make a real game with MMD though. It's solely an animating program. You might be able to make something like a Dating Sim? Since that only involves changes in still images. But nothing fully 3D. [Then again, thinking on it, if you export a model to another 3D program that is able to work with video game coding, I guess it'd be possible. But you need someone with that kind of skill.] |

I honestly considered that at one point -- but I'm really not too good at talkloids or walking cycles, so. Not to mention, 2 hours of work got me approximately 15 seconds of video llorz Someday after I get good at those things and have the time for it, I'll probably make one

Any type of 3D animation, even something as relatively easy as MMD, will be quite difficult, or at the very least time-consuming. And if I remember correctly, someone actually did make a little game using MMD. |

@Tortoiseshel I already figured that , but still someone makes it happen. What was the games name? @Subarashiki Yeah, I was thinking that if you export a model into a video game coding. I wish I had friends that were good in that T.T |

Hmm. I dunno what programs to use, I can ask my friend who is actually adept in video game coding and my other friend who is adept in video game modeling (lol..) and see if MMD models can be used in like, say for example, Garry's Mod or the something. That would be funny. But a dating sim would be hilarious xD |

MMD models can be used in Garry's Mod apparently, because I saw some videos feat TF2 and Miku... Like : [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDTeqT48-hc[/utube] [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jE4Wfh_vtNI[/utube] However I think there's a stuff to do with the extension or I don't recall what to permit Garry's Mod to use that model... And as those models are different from usual ones, I've a huge doubt.. Also random but because I love that lip sync and I find this funny the fact to put Gainsbourg's voice on Voca/UTAU XD : [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZx2F3o5X5w[/utube] [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByMiy-UvqSM[/utube] |

I.. don't believe that Miku model is an MMD model xD I've never seen one like it. It might be a completely different one altogether. |

It does look a bit different. I don't think I've seen it floating around the MMDverse, so it could very well be some sort of gmod. As for using MMD models for video games, it's entirely possible. You'd have to export the model from PMDe as a .X (directX file) though, instead of a PMD like normal, and then import it into your normal 3D editing program. Most, if not all editors, should accept .X format. I use Metasquoia for most MMD things, I'm pretty sure that's the going program for the MMD community because of how easy it is to use and how readily available it is. I do have 3DSMax though. I find it easiest to use .x or .obj formats to flop between programs. I only suggested a dating sim at first because it's super easy for even people unfamiliar with coding to make one using visual novel programs. x3 People do fake screenshots of dating sims with their models all the time. It's kind of amusing. |
