I just installed UTAU for the first time this morning using the UTAU wiki's tutorial and, aside from headaches regarding text encoding left and right, things are mostly working. However, I found that I am unable to enter any kana via the normal Windows Japanese IME. If I type, for example, "あ", I get "・" instead. I can copy and paste Japanese text from other applications just fine, even if I used the Japanese input to type it. What's going on here? I'd really like the ability to use non-Romaji voicebanks, and this is a major hindrance. |

Scratch that; if I paste a kana in the lyric box then insert it, I get a note with a ・ in it. Looks like I have no discourse if I want to use kana at all. |

I had this problem too; are you using AppLocale? If you change to Japanese Locale and try UTAU outside of AppLocale it should work. At least, that solved it for me. |
