Posted by: RaynePOTM May 5 2010, 07:45 PM Ind'i and Rarenth lept of the ledge after Ind'i's bags were firmly secured on the saddle. They were leaving T'Igen weyr. Ind'i didn't want to admit it, but she missed her sister. Outcast as a rouge becasue her dragon was different, she hadn't seen Raiin around much. Rarenth was bigger than.... Valureth? Yes Valureth. So her wing stayed higher than she's ever seen Raiin flying. Are you ready to go between mine? Yes... let's do this... Rarenth let out a roar before he flicked *between*. Ind'i still hated *between* she didn't think she would ever get used to it. The freezing nothingness that left her alone and scared, even if only for three seconds. The came out again, back into the crisp morning air. Rarenth called to the new weyr... letting them know he and his had arrived. Posted by: dragonkat34 May 6 2010, 01:19 AM Josie looked up as she and her Emerald queen walked out of the weyr on their way to the lake. She heard the sound of a dragon coming out of between, but didnt want to intrude on that dragon's privacy, so she asked Farlith. Fary? Who's that brown up there? That, Mine, is Brown Rarenth, with His I'ndi. The queen answered, twisting her head around. Josie muffled laughter as Farlith turned her shimmering green head in a full circle to track the red-brown dragonling and rider. he and she are of T'igen, but they come in peace. I'indi is the only female brown rider at her weyr, and her siblings are here, she is sad. oh, I'indi, you mean, Raiin's sister? Well, any sibling of raiin's will surely be welcomed here! Josie smiled and waved up at I'indi and Rarenth. Posted by: RaynePOTM May 6 2010, 07:33 PM Raiin was sleeping. Yes, sleeping. It was the cool morning air that had woken her up so early, so she went for a walk. It was still very dark, she reckoned she had 3 hours until dawn. So she began to construct a new masterpiece! That didn't turn out so well, between her shivering, sneezing and yawning, she didn't get anything done. The only way I'm EVER going to get this finished, or, at least, partly finished, I'm gonna have to go back to bed. Then the yawning will stop. After that I'll have to do this in the hall, rather than being cold and wet outside. THEN, maybe, I'll get this done. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So as Raiin was asleep, she didn't even realise her sister had arrived. Val was being lazy, she wasn't paying much attention, so she didn't reckognise the call. Ind'i had never spocken of coming over, not for a visit! Let alone to stay. ___________________________________________________________ Judurith, my beautiful queen, mine and I have arrived. We would like to seek sanctury in your walls. There is trouble brewing at T'Igen, which anyone can see. It is no longer our wish to stay with those who plot such evils. Many a rider will be arriving here in the next few days, only the very hide-bound, or ver afraid, will remain at T'Igen. While her dragon was busy showing off his literary skills to the queen he just decided to have a crush on, (Ind'i couldn't help an eye roll at the thought) she was looking for anyone familiar. She'd seen a girl wave as they were spiraling down, but she didn't know who it was. She didn't remember at any rate. She thought there might've been a familiar head sticking out one of the windows, but it was a bit too far to tell. It had been ages since she'd seen G'ri, he probably looked a whole lot different now. Posted by: dragonkat34 May 6 2010, 11:02 PM Josie looked at Farlith did she see us? she asked the Emerald queen. yes, they saw your wave, and the brownling greets Judurith but not me?! Farlith was insulted, and josie found it funny. Josie laughed, and reached out to the spiraling Brown, Rarenth, with Farlith's help. She used to be a HAD, but her gift was fading. she could only do it with Far's help now. Hello, Rarenth the brown. Uhm, i hope you aren't insulted by my intrusion, but if your rider, I'ndi is looking for her sister, Raiin, i know the location of her quarters, and i can direct her there. tell her it is Josie, rider of queen Farlith who speaks. She did want to meet Raiin's Sister and see if they were anything alike. Most likely they werent, but raiin didnt say much about I'ndi- at least not to her. Posted by: RaynePOTM May 7 2010, 08:57 AM (OOC: Duluth's not here yet. You need charries so Grei is still not a dragon rider, which means Duluth is not here.... YET!) Rarenth knew that wasn't normal, he knew how rare it was for a human to be able to speak to a dragon not her own. He also knew that a special rider always has an even more special dragon. I was just informing Judurith of our arrival, hers being weyrwoman. I wouldn't want anything to distract me from the glistening hide of you, beautiful queen Ind'i heard this... and, again, rolled her eyes. Very subtle Rarenth... I thought we established that you and I have differing views on how subtle I should be. And the rider of the emerald queen says she can escourt you to you sisters quarters, if that is what you wish. I however will be staying here to talk to the queen Farlith. You do that. I will! Because Rarenth is always so intent on teasing his rider, he forgot to tell her about Josie's gift... Rarenth and Ind'i have an understanding about most things... and usually Rarenth will do as Ind'i says. But female dragons, and their riders, were always a chance for disagreement. "Junior weyrwoman." Ind'i leapt off Rarenth and bowed in the general direction of Josie. "I apologise for not waving back before. I didn't recognise you. I would be most grateful if you would show me where my sister is. However, there is another matter I would like to discuss. It's the reason Rarenth and I are here, we would like to pledge ourselves to Israelren. T'Igen is.... no longer the weyr it was." Posted by: dragonkat34 May 7 2010, 08:46 PM Josie grinned at Ind'i. " It's fine, Ind'i, i dont mind you speaking to judu first- judurith, that is- its Farlith who cares, but im sure Rarenth's attitude towards her should lighten her mooon a bit" Josie chuckled. She wouldnt stop the Emerald and Brown from becoming friends, but she really had no interest in other girls, and she was mainly sure Ind'i didnt either. "You dont have to bow!" She exclaimed, "We're both dragon riders! And we're minor queen-rider." Josie stopped long enough to notice what raiin's sister had just said. If she knew the girl beter, she might have been jumping around squeaking excitedly, but best not to embarras ones self too much... "I'm so happy you've decided to come to us to stay! And also sombered by the news, though not unheard by Raelyn, that T'Igen has changed." Hopefully that sounded just formal enough, but she really didnt want a potential friend spurned by a 'suck-up' attitude, Josie just wasnt one of those riders. Farlith moved closer to Rarenth. The brown was handsom enough, but she thought she might feel that pull of atraction Josie had told her about. Maybe that only happened to humans? Hello, brown brother. She said to rarenth, I hear you are here to stay. This will be much-fun for us! Farlith was big on playing- running, racing, tustling- anything and everything that is deemed 'play' or 'fun' , the Emerald queen was imediately interested in it. You must meet some of my friends, and i have been told by Judurith that she shall soon be clutching! Farlith was excited for the hatching, though that was a few months away, and she imagined sometimes what the baby dragons might look like. While Farlith was talking to Rarenth, Josie was talking to Ind'i, and she gestured at the section of the weyr, which appeared like a round tower, where a few of the riders lived. That included Raiin of the Powder Valureth. Farlith was jealous of the pale-and-dark-blue markings on Val's hide. " Raiin's weyr's up there, so, we'll skip the winding stairs and fly to the commons area- there's a pretty big ledge there, and the hall leads off from there." Josie suggested, moving towards Farlith. She hadn't planned to be flying right now, so Farlith was not wearing a saddle, not even the stirrups-straps that occasionally were all Josie used. Well, now is as good as any other time to attempt bare-back dragonriding! Josie said brightly to Farlith, and climbed upon the proffered arm, leaping from there into a space between the last two neck ridges. "You coming? or would you rather get a temporary room and bed down 'till morning?" Posted by: RaynePOTM May 7 2010, 09:43 PM That's tempting... Ind'i hadn't been getting any sleep for days. Some of the other dragon-riders had seen her packing, she wasn't sure if any of them had told their weyrwoman, that might've caused some trouble for them leaving. "No, I'd like to go straight on up. Raiin's always awake now anyway." There is much I've missed out on... Please let Raiin forgive me... Posted by: dragonkat34 May 7 2010, 09:52 PM Josie smiled and settled into the impromptu-saddle of the hollow between the ridges, and Farlith tensed her legs and leaped off lightly into the air. im sooo happy we can just fly most of the way up! She commented to Farlith 'cause raiin's on the... whats that number again?... floor. she's a floor above the commons area, that's all i know. so, lets go, farlith- but not too fast! Josie didnt want to fly really fast bareback, not to mention, farlith might leave rarenth way behind. Posted by: RaynePOTM May 9 2010, 07:09 AM (Lol... thanks... *refering to the leaving Rarenth behind thing*) In the air you are even more graceful than you are on the ground my queen! But where is the challenge of speed? Please don't tell me you LIKE going so slow. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease stop flirting aloud! I beg you, Rar, Spare me! Do it on the dragon-only frequency! PLEASE! Aw... you don't like my flirting? You KNOW I don't! Fine... I will spare your puny mind of my superb intellect... For once I'm not going to argue with you... Posted by: dragonkat34 May 9 2010, 03:21 PM Josie noticed I'ndi was squirming. aparently, she doesnt like girls, for all she's a brownrider... Josie mused. Farlith answered in a sharp tone. and niether should you QueenRider! oh, you worry too much! she laughed in her thoughts i have no interest in girls! but if he ever catches you.... Josie teased her Emerald. aloud, she spoke pointing to the larger ledge that opened up into the commons area. most likely, there were one or two riders chatting in there. hopefully nothing more was going on... "That ledge is the commons, I'ndi, so i'll land first so i can get my barings rightened, and then we'll head to Raiin's room." Farlith swooped up and up and Josie held on tightly to the ridge in front of her, gripping with her knees to the emerald hide. Farlith was level with the ledge, and she backwinged gracefully and landed. Farlith and Josie moved a little out of the way: a ledge like this one was often hard to navigate if you'd never landed on it before- it wasnt like most, with an overhang and a wedge-shape to it. especially with the dim light. Josie grinned as she looked at the staircase, and the hallways to the left and right. oh great- there's two people... kissing on the couch over there. Farlith snorted and conveyed this to Rarenth. Posted by: RaynePOTM May 11 2010, 09:11 AM Rarenth landed with as much grace as he couls muster. He pulled it off... just. Wouldn't want to look awkward in front of the beautiful Queen Farlith. Ind'i was about to tell him to keep his nasty thoughts to himself, again, when he promptly told her what Josie had sent. "Eww." She muttered under her breath, "some people should have more class..." "So how many of the riders live in here?" She'd turned back to Josie, trying to ignore the 'smoochers' in the room. Posted by: dragonkat34 May 12 2010, 01:17 AM Josie caught the comment, and hastilly covered her burst of laughter, turning it into a cough. The couple heard her and stood up suddenly, rushing out of the room embarrasedly. Josie grinned at Ind'i. "well, theres room for alot more than live here, but... around 20 riders are in the Tower. around the same amount- including me- are in the Caverns weyrs." Farlith liked the cool underground passages, the air only slightly damp and a perfect temperature even in the summer. "There are like, 14 floors, but something happened on the 14th, so the 13th had become the last floor" 13 was often thought of as a lucky number on Pern. ((ooc- unlike on earth, where many call it unlucky)) Posted by: RaynePOTM May 13 2010, 08:45 AM Ind'i saw the queenrider cough, but decided not to mention it. She was younger than Ind'i anyway, there's no point in destroying her humour. It'd be something Grei'd find funny too. "Well that's fancy! T'Igen never had a tower... Ha! I'd probably choose the 13th floor, only because Raiin and I used to joke that I was the only person who could make the number 13 unlucky! Oh... and Rarenth too... most unlucky dragon in the universe..." Thankyou... You're welcome! Ind'i rubbed her dragons muzzle over-effectionately... Posted by: dragonkat34 May 22 2010, 06:56 PM Josie grinned at Ind'i. "Sure, you can have a Weyr on that floor- hah, that's funny." Josie slipped off Farlith's dazzling greeny-gold neck and to the tile floor. She walked towards the high door way that led to the winding staircase. "We can walk up from here, but it'll be easier for the dragons to fly up to her floor" The common ledge in the hall on floor eight was not accesible enough for a dragon with a rider on their back, with the overhang deeper than the one on this floor. Farlith rumbled at Rarenth and swooped out the opening in the cliff wall. Brown one, follow me to the ledge above, then we shall wait for Ours and then we will hed to Valureth's.
