I figured we should have a place to have *our* reviews of the film. No big thing, just a quick I hate it/loved it thing or more.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saw it and I enjoyed it very much but I can totally see why people can be split on it. Mel was wonderful, there's not much to say because I think we have all read the reviews phrasing him. Jodie did a great job looking like she's about to have a full emotional breakdown every time she's on screen :P and the rest of the cast was soild.

It was a movie about depression and in the end, it sure felt like it. :comfort
I would say, and I know this is going to sound stupid but, it felt very European. I also felt that, the way Jodie directs, based on this and Home for the Holidays, you can see her literature study come out.

A BIG :glbt-kiss to Jodie for including a that quick oral sex scene. :lalala ;)
Once again proving, she's pretty damn good at those sex scenes. :clapping2

I would give it a 3 1/2 to 4 (out of 5). Leaning heavy towards 4. I still need time to process everything in my head.

Overall, well done Jodie. Welcome back to the directors chair. :love-20

Theater for the first screening was about 12 people, more then I expected with soft applause at the end.

:lol-above The first thing that's picked out.

Its really really quick. The "longest" sex scene has Jodie on top but then quickly cuts to Jodie on her back, waist up with hands in her hair because someone appears to be off screen ;) ,which is making her happy :wondering .

It's no big deal, its a blink and you miss but it stood out for me because, it seems so rare to have female pleasure up on screen :popcorn . Although, to be fair its becoming more common i think.

Anyways, don't get too excited, *Jodie has her shirt on*. :sad2 :bored

Yes , like was it moving or bitter or uplifting toward the end? Without going into detail.

I just saw The Beaver, ( better late than never), which i loved and found very moving throughout. One thing i noticed though is that a few scenes which can be found in the trailer are missing from the film. Is it me that does not remember them or are they missing from the UK version?? Or are they missing from every version? Im talking about a scene where little Henry says to Porter " i miss dad" and Porter says " i know buddy", then when Walter says to Meredith " Where do we start?", she replies " We start from the good part".....can you help me UK audience? Thank you :)

I'm pretty sure this one is in the movie, but the other one you mentionned now I have a doubt :wondering I don't remember either!
