This is something that I scrounged up from the corner of my closet and after a lot of revision I decided I might as well post it to get the section a little more active. ;D CnC more than welcome.

Chapter One

Amaya had left three hours ago, she'd gotten a head start. Everyone was in a frenzy that she'd escaped. Of course, I should have been acting as though I was as well. I should have been acting like I didn't know what their plans were for Amaya and me, not lying on this hard bed staring at the ceiling blankly. I sighed and swung my legs over the side of the bed. The tips of my shoes just barely touched the hard, white floor.

There was a knock at the door and I stood up, tried to look as though I was frantic as everyone else was. Whoever it was didn't wait to be invited in but instead turned the door knob and walked in. He had red spiked hair and was wearing the organization cloak. At the moment, so was I. "Hey, Axel," I greeted half-heartedly.

Axel snorted. "You're cheerful, aren't you, Asa."I didn't respond as Axel leaned against the wall lazily. "You might want to get going, people are pretty hyped up about Amaya leaving. Soon guards will be issued to 'watch over' you."

I still didn't reply. Instead I stared at him, trying to figure out why he was telling me this.

"Oh, C'mon, Asa. I'm not an idiot. I know you found out about the organization's plans."He raised his right hand in a gesture and I flinched back. Axel frowned speculatively. "Tell you what, I'll help you out. Say you agreed to scout out Amaya 'cause she'd listen to you more than anyone else."

"Why are you helping me, Axel?" Finally I'd found my voice and had managed to ask the question that had been pestering me since he'd came in my room. A look of remembrance flashed then was gone, replaced by an emptiness.

"Because I didn't help a friend before and now he's dead. You're not a friend, per se, but you're still a comrade.' Sides, neither of us are meant to exist so what makes you any different just because you didn't have a Somebody?"

"But... you seemed to have the most problems with me..." The statement died off when Axel shrugged.

"Meet me outside the castle in an hour. If you can try walking there, if not teleport." Axel grinned momentarily then turned sharply and left the room, closing the door behind him.

It was dark out. Not just dark though, it was black out in the normally calming woods. Axel had helped me get out and now I was running throughout the tall trees of a world I wasn't familiar with and everything was creepy. Every snap of a twig or footfall that wasn't my own was increased to the size of a giant and echoed in my ears. Nothing seemed real anymore but the burning of my muscles and the aching in my sides was impossible to ignore. Chances were I was going to die. My brain now understood that, even with Axel's help, it wasn't going to be enough yet my body ran against the facts.

A shadow moved and I muttered under my breath. Without a word I pulled the bow off my back and tensed the string. Barely paying attention to what I was doing, relying heavily on the second instinct I'd had drilled into me for a year I pulled out an arrow and strung it. Another shadow moved in the trees only this time it was recognizable; an Dragoon Nobody.

Aiming my bow while I ran I let it loose. It penetrated the Nobody and the creature stopped pursuing me. It didn't matter that the one was unable to follow me, several more replaced it. Xaldin must be following me, I decided remembering Xaldin to be the one controlling Dragoon Nobodies. Something shot past my head, missing me by inches. It landed about ten yards in front of me. A purple colored spear. Hmm, great, that confirmed my suspicions of Xaldin being my pursuer. I'd have to fight, there wasn't any other solution if I was to survive.

Taking a sharp turn to the left I strung another arrow, aimed, and fired. The white oak arrow missed by centimeters. The only thing it did was alert Xaldin to my location. I sighed and strung another arrow, channeling lightning throughout it. Aiming to disable rather than kill I fired again.

Once again, the arrow flew by his head, only managing to bounce off one of his spears. "I know you're out there!" he yelled taking aim, conveniently, right at my location.

Silently I tried to back up, to put more distance between me and him. It didn't work. Another shadow moved and my 'heart' skipped a beat. Two on one and there was no way I'd escape. Taking a breath I closed my eyes and prepared to come out of hiding. There wasn't any way I'd survive by this point now anyways.

When I stepped out and opened my eyes, however; I saw Amaya standing while Xaldin was on the ground, unconscious. "I told you to leave before I did but you waited too long," Amaya said, her back still turned to me. Her sword was now in its sheath and she was looking upward. Her shoulder-length black hair looked even darker. Her darker clothes made her blend in with the surroundings better than my own orange hoodie. She turned to look at me, her green cat eyes glaring at me. "I won't be around to keep you alive next time, so I'd suggest you either get stronger or get better at evasion." With those being her last words she raised a hand and a dark portal appeared. She walked through it and soon the only thing that was truly visible was the limp Xaldin. Taking a deep breath I opened a portal as well and walked through, on to a world perhaps more safe than my current one.
