A Bit of Background Faction: The Coalition of Steel Rank Within Faction: Supreme Commander History: Born in 2247 on the New Vegas strip in a motel, Barran was left mostly to fend for himself on the Freeside. He spent most of his life working as a slave to whoever his parent's owed money to, a life that didn't suit him. At 16, he was granted a job at Van Graff's as a door guard. He did a decent job, and was paid very handsomely for some of the work he did. Raising a secret fund of caps, he soon left Freeside and bought himself a weapons caravan to work with the Gun Runners. His ticket away from Freeside was set, as was his journey into the Mojave Wastes. Life was great for Barran, and after 10 years of walking with a Brahim that carried weapons, he had enough to retire. The year was 2282, and events just started to stir with the Legion again. This time, Barran joined in on the fight and was recruited into the NCR Rangers. As a ranger, he was deployed to scout the Mojave and encountered the Courier who was on his way to very important business. Barran was at the Second Battle of Hoover Dam where he witnessed the ultimate destruction of the Legion and the Courier's betrayal. The Courier proceeded to take the dam and the Vegas strip, however in a sign of mercy he allowed the NCR to remain as long as they didn't trouble him. During his time as a NCR Veteran Ranger, Barran took up fiend hunting with his Anti-Material Rifle, Rus. It was said he could drop a fiend blind folded from 750 meters away, of course that was speculation. He lead Ranger patrols deeper into what was Caesar's territory as they pushed them farther from New Vegas but ultimately, Barran was bored. He retired at age of 32 in the year 2288. In his retirement years, Barran started a family and bought a shack in the glow of the Strip. It was here he spent every unsettling day herding Brahim and bring up his son. It was in 2291, however, that he received a conscription notice from the NCR that were moving all the way out to the D.C. Ruins by request from Elder Lyons to combat an unknown threat. What this was he had no idea, but he was sent in ahead to recon the situation. He was the first in the NCR to see the Patriarch and the Divine Army. Millions of gold plated beasts, war machines, and at the rear of the army he saw the Patriarch. As he tried to escape, he was apprehended by two war machines, later known as mechas, which chased him until a passing Coalition demo squad hit the mechas hard enough to take them down. As the soldier that saw the army and was the supposed destroyer of the war machine, Barran was pushed to be the Coalition's Supreme Commander. He has commanded and won many battles since that time, and pushed the Divine back and away from the D.C. ruins. With a new force behind him, the newly created Coalition Navy and Coalition Marine Teams, intends on holding a full force assault campaign. His present slogan for support on the idea is "Hit them where it hurts! Down with the Patriarch! Win the War!" Three powerful ideas that inspires soldiers by the hundreds to fight harder. Supreme Commander Alcord looks to the stars, in anxiety of his campaign or his long and drawn out defense. |
