I have seen how violent Legion is.. But I know how resilient Desghidorah is as well. He endured pumellings from 2 Mothra's and still only the Seal of Elias was the device that defeated him in the end. As far as I know Legion has no regenerative power -- I think if DesGhidorah continually uses his long range weapons (like he usually does) he can squeak out a victory here. |

I ended up siding with Legion on this one. Still, I'm quite fond of both these crazy ladies, but in looking at their abilities and comparing them, I see the big bug coming out on top. Legion can't regenerate, no, but let's not count her out just yet. First off, she was able to push Gamera back, which shows how strong she is; plus, she can burrow underground, which gives her another way of attacking Desghidorah and defending from her array of attacks. If she manages to hit Desghidorah with her rear legs, she'll be able to put the hurtin' on her, since that strike was able to pierce through Gamera's shell. so she would be able to easily pierce through Desghidorah's hide. She also has the option of attacking Desghidorah with soldiers, unless her egg chamber is destroyed. Speaking of which, Legion's silicon-based shell makes her very durable, as it insulates her against most fire/plasma-based attacks. Also, the legs around her head can produce a field of electromagnetic waves, which would counter most of Desghidorah has to throw at Legion; however, if damaged, they'll lose their effectiveness. Legion can also fire a powerful beam of plasma from her nasal horn, which, if it could damage Gamera's shell, it could damage Desghidorah. And if her horn is broken off, she'll rage and create extremely hot, whiplike tendrils, which were also capable of hurting Gamera, so I see them being able to hurt Desghidorah as well. Both monsters can also fly, which is where Desghidorah vastly outshines her opponent since Legion is very slow, but I don't see Legion leaving the ground anytime during this fight, since I believe she would retreat underground and wait for Desghidorah to land again. It's a whole different story entirely if Desghidorah doesn't have her wings, though, but I'm sure that for this fight, she probably does. Last, but not least, let's look at how they were both finally defeated in their respective movies. Leo had to seal Desghidorah again in order to deal with her, sure, but Gamera had no choice but to use his Mana Cannon against Legion in order to destroy her. So, yeah, Desghidorah was merely sealed again, but Legion had to be killed outright in order to be stopped. Regeneration is a nice thing to have, but it isn't everything. Given all she has going for her, along with a great defense, my vote goes to Legion. ...I am not biased towards Daiei kaiju, I swear. >_> |

You do make some great points. I don't see burrowing being very useful to Legion, Death Ghidorah can split the ground beneath him with his fire pyre road attack. But I do not see his abilities harming Legion too badly -- I forgot about the silicon based carapace. |

Why, thank you! :3 And I forgot about the Fire Pyre Road attack even after I'd planned on talking about it. XD But you're right, Des could get her with that (or at least flush her out), but Legion seemed to burrow pretty quickly when she went back underground in her movie. Still, she'd probably be able to use the attack from underground trick at least once before Desghidorah would catch on and get her if Legion tried it again. |
