Okay, first off, the disclaimer: I haven't seen the non-Sony-ized version of GMK since G-Fest 2003 (and that was the only time I've seen it) so there may be something obvious I'm missing here. If so, let me know without crushing my self-esteem. Anyway, after watching the movie a few times, I got to thinking...why do the Guardian Monsters need to stop Godzilla? They want to protect their homeland, basically Japan's ecosystem and geography. What's more is, they've got a few beefs with Japan's current generation themselves. Sooo...what is Godzilla actually doing to offend them? It's not like he's going around causing forest fires, vaporizing rivers, stirring up volcanoes, and stomping deer. Any damage he does do to the ecosystem is just a "getting from point A to point B" kinda thing, which he does as quickly and expediently as possible. If the Guardian Monsters feel they need to take him out for these damages, then maybe Ghidorah and Baragon should quit tearing away the strata of the Earth, and trampling forests themselves. Beyond that, what is the thing that is steadily destroying forests, polluting rivers, and generally causing environmental havoc? Humans, that's right. And what is Godzilla hell-bent on destroying? You got it. The Guardian Monsters have shown themselves to basically care less about humanity (except those that directly aid them, as Ghidorah demonstrated), they could've just sat around and watch as Godzilla swiftly and efficiently wiped humanity off the face of Japan. What was he going to do after that, start blowing the islands themselves apart, square mile by square mile? The souls possessing Godzilla had a grudge aganist the Japanese people, they have no reason to go around blowing mountains up had they accomplished their goal. |

Cause they were summoned to defeat him, and there Guardians of Japan. Basicly you mess with ANY aspect of Japan you mess with the Yamato. And I haven't even seen... |

It's a "plot hole", I guess. Btw, there's not really anything being "left" out in that regard concerning the Japanese version (which I own). I might watch it again sometime, though, just to be sure.;) |
