    Lightning Ronin
Season One: In the Brightest Day…
Chapter One: Revival of the Lightning Ronin

    By: Jesse “Burkion” Alonso
    Edited/Co-written By: Rafael “Enshohma” Gonzales

Pre Notes: You should know this: This first chapter is LONG. Thirty pages, actually. So, I have little ‘Part Put Number Here’ things in-between the chapter, to sorta break it up. Really, it was Raf’s idea, I just modified it. Strangely enough, I still feel like it’s not long enough, but when I compare it to other first chapters of stories that wound up being close to 500 some-odd pages long in the end, I figured this was long enough since it‘s twice as long as those chapters. Story doesn’t pick up until the final fight, however, as its rather bland (In my opinion) up until that point. Have fun reading, as I’m getting to work on Chapter Two as we speak. Need to get in touch with me? Contact me here at: nightmareangillis@yahoo.com just be for warned, if you send nothing but oh so idiotic flames, I will personally MST them and beat you over the head with said flame. Constructive comments are MORE then welcome, however. I’ll get to thanking people down below, though I must give major thanks to, yet again, Mecha74 who came up with Rick, one of the most thankless characters, and a boatload of other monsters. Oh, and just to get this out of the way, I own just about every one of the characters that seem to be so frikkin powerful that it defies all known logic and reason, with the exception of two, and even then I tweaked them a lot. So, to stop this rambling nonsense, let us get to the show, shall we?

    Prologue

Once a wise leader, known merely as Zourn, lived many thousands of years ago. He created, with the help of his life partner Karon, a race of sentient robots, and gave them their own planet. Adopting one of the child robots, Beta3, he taught her every thing he knew and more. But, when an old friend of his, Delta, appeared onto his planet, Zourn and Karon left, leaving Beta in the hands of two other robots.

You see, an evil warlord, whom was unprecedented in power and ferocity, had taken control of Delta’s home-world. He was Emperor Ceronus. Calling upon allies from across the universe, Zourn tried to stand against Ceronus but to no avail. Emperor Ceronus defeated the armies that was sent against him using his own forces against them. He also called forth, from the Shadow Plane, an alien entity known as Seth, God of Darkness to be his chief General.

When all seemed lost, as Ceronus was reaching the height of his power, Zourn discovered a power, linked within the very universe itself, which he called the Roner Core. Tapping into its power, he and four other allies, Zona, future Queen of the Waiion Dynasty, Karon, Magi, Sorcerer of the Tokon Primus galaxy, and Delta became the Roner Ronin, beings of unimaginable power. Each held within them the Power Cosmic, and each could redefine the Universe to their will.
However, even such a power gain could not tip the favor either way, as Emperor Ceronus became that much more ruthless and cunning. It would take years of long wars, unending battles, before the Roner Ronin could gain the upper hand. Seeing nothing left to them, they combined their powers, unleashing the full force of the Roner Core itself, and sealed Ceronus away into the Dimension of Oblivion. They placed a spell upon the Seal, stating that it would remain until the last of the Roner Ronin fell.

Then they fought Seth. They fought him to a planet called Earth, where the final battle was held against the mighty God of Darkness, former General of Ceronus. It would take a year before Seth would fall, but fall he did. At last, it seemed all of Ceronus’ forces had been vanquished, as the Hell Lasers, Ceronus’ personal foot soldiers, clones of one of his finest warriors Hellrazor, had been scattered across the Universe.

Unfortunately, Ceronus had pulled one last trick before being sealed away. He had infected Magi’s mind, corrupting the powerful sorcerer and transforming him into a being known as Mange Absolute. By this time, only Delta and Zourn were around to stand before the evil magic of Mange, as Karon had gone back to their home planet, and Zona had to check on her world. With their numbers cut in half, there was little the two could do against Mange, except to do what they did to Ceronus. This time, they locked him away inside a crystal which was entrusted to Delta.

As the years went by, the universe broke out in chaos again and again, and the remaining four Ronin alone were not strong enough to stand before it. Letting lose more sections of power from the Roner Core, however, new teams were created for each planet and each new power source took the form of something different, sometimes an animal, other times a force of nature. And this is how it went for several years…

Unfortunately, not all things would last as such. Experimenting with an unknown source of the Roner Core’s power, Zourn forged five new power sources, each separate from the Roner Core, which he called Sphears. Bestowing upon them the power of lightning, they would give birth to the most powerful versions of the Ronin yet. But, Delta decided to make his own Sphear, for his own warrior, and created the Green Lightning Sphear, designed to be more powerful then any other.

Being exposed to such power, Delta’s mind started to crave more. Renouncing his title of Prince of Delta Prime, he became known as Kaiser Deabora, and using his newfound power, turned Zona into an impish warrioress. Together, the two became lovers, and set out across the universe, destroying all that would not bow before their might in search of power.

Kaiser Deabora later would come across an ancient monster, ancient even for then, known as Kor whose powers were said to be unfounded. Freeing the monster, he made it his own personal steed. He would later find an asteroid to make his base on. Going from planet to planet, he ravaged the universe, no one power able to stand before him, or his pet Kor.

While this was going on, Deabora’s curse was still plaguing even those he had not yet touched. Namely the Lightning Ronin. Green Lightning grew insane from the extreme powers that pulsated from his Sphear, and struck out in a violent rage, attacking the other Ronin. He left the Earth, their home, and waged a secret war on the other Ronin races…the only ones who could match him in power were his own team…but they were too late. By the time they learned of his insanity, he had already wiped out most of the Ronin, and by the time they tracked him down…there were none left.

His name was Bruuai, and he had once been a peaceful, caring soul. But power, true power corrupts all. As he slaughtered his fellow Ronin, he created for himself a powerful mecha, a mixture of an inorganic and an organic draconic creature, which would fire bolts of lightning from its terrible maw, to rain death upon his enemies. Some of the Ronin tried to fight back against the Lightning Dragon by building their own mechas, or calling upon olden monsters. None succeeded.

While this happened, Kaiser Deabora found the home world of Beta3 and her race, and destroyed it. Zourn appeared just in time to save Beta3 from a similar fate, but could do nothing against the power of Kor. Retreating, he set out for his secret base where Karon awaited them. But, something’s were never meant to be, as I mentioned before.

Kaiser Deabora, as way of torturing the information out of former allies of Zourn, learned of the location of his secret base and arrived there first. Karon was the only one there to stand before him, and she was not strong enough. But she did manage two things: one, she alerted Zourn of Deabora, and two she banished Kor to the Antimatter Dimension, crippling Deabora‘s offensive power. However, she would pay for this with her life as it took her very life-force to do such a task.

At this time, Zona had left to start her own empire in another part of the universe, away from Kaiser Deabora’s reign. As well, the Lightning Ronin were dueling a crazed Green Lightning, trying to bring him to reason. Neither would succeed, but that is for another time. Deabora tracked Zourn and Beta3 to Earth, where Zourn had hoped to find the Lightning Ronin, and faced him there.

Zourn by this time had aged considerably, both physically and mentally, considering all that had happened to him. He alone was too weak to fight Kaiser Deabora, and so he unleashed, with the last of his strength, a shield around earth, repelling Deabora and all other evil. Kaiser Deabora was caught in the first wave of the shields protective energy, which destroyed Kaiser Deabora’s remaining sanity, and burned the very skin from his bones, leaving him with a burnt carcass of a body left, mangled and skinless yet still living. He retreated from earth that day, going to the far corners of the universe in hiding to recuperate. But his deed had been done… the mighty Zourn had fallen to him, and the Lightning Ronin was not far behind.

The Lightning Ronin tried to reason with their former comrade, whom by this time had gone completely insane, convinced that only he was worthy enough to wield the power of the Lightning Ronin. None of it worked. And so they battled against him, a battle that would span the multi galaxies, and would end on the planet Earth. Knowing that he was too powerful, the Lightning Ronin gave up their life force energy, and destroyed Bruuai from the inside out. The Lightning Dragon, sensing it’s masters death, went to sleep in the deepest ocean on the planet, awaiting the return of its master‘s power. Beta3, who had witnessed this occur, colleted their Sphears, knowing that one day they would be needed on Earth to fend off Kaiser Deabora.

Building a command center of sorts, she tampered with the Lightning Sphears, namely the Green one, to make their power manageable. Then, weeping to herself, she put herself into a hyper sleep, which she would only wake from when the shield her father had put up would finally break. And so, it has been over ten thousand years since that day, and the shield has broken. And yet, Kaiser Deabora is still not yet coming to earth, giving Beta3 time to make some new weapons to give the Lightning Ronin a fighting chance. It had been sixty years since she awoke, and now Deabora is slowly making his way to earth, but will the new Lightning Ronin be powerful enough to stop him?

    Part 1

A young man got up and yawed, stretching himself, before crawling out of bed. Scratching his brown/black hair, and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he greeted his two ferrets, Casper and Ghost, in a grumpy manner. Casper, and albino ferret, had woken him from his dreamless sleep, as per usual. ‘Oh well, I needed to get up…’ he trailed off. Stopping by the ferrets cage, he put some brown medicine, which to the best of his knowledge was supposed to keep them from having hairballs, on his finger and let them lick it off. Making sure Casper couldn’t get out, as when he was he was, as the young man put it, ‘A whack-a-mole on hyper drive’, and hard to capture. Damnit, today was the day he had to give them a bath.

“Jesse, time to get up,” came the voice of his mom, a kind hearted woman who kept her brown hair in a ponytail. He muttered something to the extent of, “I’m awake…” and then walked out the door of his room. He had broad shoulders, this he knew because his mother kept on pointing it out to him, and was tall, about 5’11, or 6foot. Stretching and rotating his shoulders to wake up fully, he bent down to pet his meowing cat, who, even though was the only one who lived inside, and they had had her for a few years now, never got a real name.

She was a long tailed, black white and brown calico fur ball who, as Jesse put it, ’Had a black hole for a stomach.’ He’d also swear that she was smarter then any other animal at times and thought she was a puppy. Case and point, her bringing a little toy pink mouse to him for Jesse to throw and for her to fetch and bring back to him. “Not today, fuzz ball.” With that, Jesse headed for the living room to see what was for breakfast, nothing much else to do in Tennessee other then play some odd stupid game in Wal-Mart…

Riiiiing…riiiing…riiing…A hand slapped down on a black alarm clock, then feeling its way to a telephone, picked it up. “H-hello?” A young British man yawned, as he slowly got up, his blond hair falling to his shoulders. “Yeah mum? What, 12:00? Forget it mum…” the youth yawned, as he stumbled around his apartment, picking up clothes and other items. Pulling on a pair of pants over his boxers, and after rummaging around and finding a shirt, he answered into the phone, “I know mum. I promise I won’t sleep in again. Good bye mum…” Yawning some more, he hung up the phone, before heading out the door. He promised to teach Jimmy some magic tricks today. Stopping to scratch his goatee, he left his apartment.

“Will!” yelled out a young boy, who couldn’t have been more then eight or so. The young boys light blue eyes sparkled in joy, as he wondered what Will would show him today. His father was hardly ever around much, so he looked up to Will, or as Will put it, adopted him as his new father. His mother humored her son at times by inviting Will over for dinner, because she knew that Will lived away from both of his parents and could hardly fend for himself food wise, as he wasn‘t that great of a cook. “Hey Jimmy,” Will said, as he plopped down next to the eight year old. For a brief moment Will almost wished he could be so young again, as he got out his magic tricks, to not worry about relationships and such…

A young Puerto Rican girl sat up in her bed, yawning. Her black hair messy and out of place, her vibrant green eyes, fully awake, and her body, draped in a blanket, slowly got up as she leapt out of bed. Stretching a bit, she grabbed up some clothes to put on, after she had taken a shower of course, as she snuck into the bathroom. Being the only child really did help in some matters…freeing up the bathroom was one such matter.

As she turned on the cold water, (As cold water helped wake her mind up) she shed what little clothes she had on and stepped inside of the shower, letting the water submerge her in its cool grasp. She just liked to let herself go in showers…water was the only place to unwind, in her opinion. Fifteen minutes later, as even though she loved the water she still had stuff to do, she got out of the shower and toweled off. Looking at herself in the mirror she laughed; her hair was a mess! She quickly grabbed a hairbrush that might have been yellow at one time, and started running it through her short hair. Normally she didn’t much care about her looks, but today she had a report to do in her English class, which she had honors in, over the habits of North America, past and present. Her parents would be at work for the moment.

As she passed by the hallway of her rather small house, she liked to call it quaint, she stopped in front of a mirror to make sure everything was in order. Her white over shirt was wrinkled a bit, but it didn’t matter, as it stood to a stark contrast to her black under shirt. Her long dress pooled around her feet, as she headed out the door to her school. She stopped to admire a plaque, featuring her name on it, saying, “To the Winner of the Swim Off: Alex.”

A big, muscular teenager ran across Central Park, trying to prepare himself. The big sword duel was today, and he didn’t want to be out of shape. He had short, brown hair and brown eyes, and was almost like a gorilla in stature. Waving to two of his friends, Abe and Preston, he continued on his way back to his house.

“Hey, Rick!” Preston, a big black man with long dreads, called out to him. “Hey Pres, hey Abe,” Rick, the teen, called back to Preston, and his skinnier friend, Abe,(Inside joke to Alien Loves Predator Web comic fans) before continuing on his way. “Hey man, what’s the rush?” Preston said, catching up to Rick. “I’ve got that big match today, so I’m making sure I’m in tiptop shape.” Preston shook his head, “You’re gonna kill yerself doin’ this, Ricky,” he said, before running back to meet up with Abe who had just gotten punched in the gut when he made perverse comments to a passing by woman.

When he got home, he went up to his apartment, which he lived with his parents in, and started a hot shower to ease his muscles. He personally hated water, but showers were different…or so he reasoned to himself. In truth, he had never really gotten over that one incident with his father…well, stepfather anyways. But, he wouldn’t let his mind stay on such things. Not today, today he had work to do.

A young woman stepped out of a rather big house, some would call it a mansion, and stretched. “Young Lady, I am not done talking to you! Anna! ANNA!” called out a man’s voice from the house.

“Oh shut up…” Anna mumbled to herself, giving the house a dirty look. She hated that house and her blowhard father. She also hated the fact that she had to ask him for money. So she didn’t, unless really in need. And she couldn’t get it her usual way…

“Canada’s so damn boring!” Anna complained to herself, as she slipped out of her over coat, revealing her more then ample chest, covered slightly be a short shirt with a little pink heart in the middle. She leapt into her sports car, while her long legs, barely concealed by her miniskirt, pushed the petal to the metal, as she headed towards wherever she wanted.

An athletic youth stepped out of his dorm room trying to wipe the sleep out of his eyes. “Hey Michael!” greeted some of his collage buddies, as they ran past. “Hey…” he replied, still trying to wake up. After waking up fully, he started to go for a run, trying to keep in shape. You see, Michael ran track at his collage, infact it was what put him through it. What he wanted to be, however, was a fireman or a policeman, like his father…before the Fall of Heroes that was. His father was one of the many who had perished just trying to save lives on that hellish day…

Michael shook his head, no use being lost in the past. It had happened and it was over with, no use dwelling on it. He just always wanted to help people, before and after his dad’s death. Sometimes his mother would call, whenever she was healthy enough to do so. The shock of her husband’s death was too great for Mrs. Drazini, and she relapsed having a heart attack. She was getting better though, and supported her son with what little strength she could muster. Losing himself in his bleak thoughts, he continued on his way into a forest outside of the campus of his collage.

Computers sounded all around one figure, cast in darkness. Lights flickered on, as high-tech machinery buzzed and made other odd noises. A childlike robot, with green ‘hair’ and blue ‘eyes’, with a star built in the middle of her forehead, opened her light aqua blue eyes, and let out a noise of surprise and fear. HE was coming back…

    Part 2

Beta3 started working on a computer. Already near Pluto, not good. She worked on another one, and then a weird black box materialized behind her. She opened it to see several sphere shaped objects, each silver and another color. The six spheres started glowing, and then turned into mini-bolts of lighting, and then shot out of the high-tech center, and spread out into different directions. “The Lightning Ronin will live again, father,” Beta3 vowed, “And Deabora will die.”

A dully light room, which would appear to be late Victorian styled room with walls covered in books upon books on old, yet grand, bookcases. The one source of light was a low burning, 7ft high by 15ft long fire place, which took up a good part of the room, casting its glowing gaze upon a man, who looked to be in his late fifties, half asleep in a large chair. There are Victorian comforts surrounding the room, and the chair was made as such.

Then a red bulb lights up in the upper corner of the room, with a modern telecom speaker announcing "Master Thorn, please report to the Command room as soon as possible, the Kaiser requests your presence." The old man, Thorn, grumbles, as he stands up, revealing to be a very tall man, and with an intimating face covered in the dull light of the fire, heads for the door with a metal cane. The cane makes an eerie sound as it clicks against the ground, following the sounds of his footsteps like a shadow.

After entering a specific code into a lock pad on the opening of his door, he walks out into a black ship, filled with metal, pipes pumping all sorts of unknown liquid, steam coming from vents all over the hallways and bizarre 2 to 3ft long alien bugs, of many forms, moving about the shadows. The man noted several rocklike creatures, hauling hundred, if not thousand, pound equipment and materials like they were nothing, wondering around the halls doing manual work.

Thorn continues on his way, not even stopping to watch the rock creatures work, when a particularly nasty and large centipede like insect leaps out at him, intending on killing and eating its prey. But Thorn grabs the creature inches from his eye, by the neck with his large hands. He looks at the struggling creature, whose in great pain, with an annoyed expression. Then with one powerful hand, he crushed the creature’s exoskeleton. Separating the head from the body and effecting the spine running through the latter, instantly killing it. With gunk on his right hand, he proceeds to the main room as if nothing happened. Other insects slowly approach from out of the shadows, waiting for Thorn to leave from their sights. Once he disappears around a corner, the bugs gathers to eat their fallen kin.

Thorn enters the main room, the command room, a very large and spacious place that was covered wall to wall from machines and screens. Said screens were now focusing on several different planets at once, but most were focusing on Earth. Thorn stopped momentarily, looking at pictures of a Brazilian Rainforest, before continuing on. In the very middle, the only spot not light by the artificial lights that adorned the meteor on which they traveled, sat Kaiser Deabora. The Kaiser’s face was hidden behind a metallic fake, his inhuman eyes staring at Thorn. If he could rise, he would, but Kaiser Deabora was hooked up to several machines, which lined the walls of the very ship, with tubes and other gadgets entering his body. A cold, yet strangely beautiful woman in a long dress like garment worked on the Kaiser’s chair in silence, glancing at her master with her cold eyes.

“Very good…Thea Solon…” came the rasping voice of her master, his metal facemask’s lips opening when he needed to speak. Kaiser Deabora looked over, to see a much larger and rockier version of the rock creatures Thorn passed, lurking in the shadows, standing next to a armored female warrior, in black and white armor, before lowering his head again, as if that bit of effort strained his limited power. “My generals,” came his short breathed voice, “the day has come. We are finally ready to take over the Earth, the only planet to escape my wrath.” Stopping, as if to catch his breath, he gestured towards a tube filled with something, something we can not see as of yet. “We will send down Irion to test the Earth’s defenses, and to see if they have any champions left to defend them.” Suddenly, he stopped talking, but this time the silence was deafening.

“What is it, Kaiser Deabora?” Thorn asked quickly, cutting off Thea, who shot him a disgusted look that Thorn did not take care to notice.

“An old power resurfaces…a power I thought long since dead…perfect. Now our plan can truly begin. Now we…we can end this,” Kaiser Deabora said in a steady voice. It held within it anticipation, and his eyes shown a weird light.

Thea, taken aback, hurried to his side, saying “You shouldn’t overexert yourself Kaiser! The Life Support systems will only help for so long…” as she fiddled with pieces of equipment built into the chair.

Kaiser Deabora looked down at his assistant for a moment, before looking back towards the rock creature and ordering, “Superior Golem, come to me…I have an order for your men.”

Jesse opened his eyes, waking up from sleeping on his hammock, and looked into the sky. He noticed the clouds parted as a lightning bolt struck down in the middle of the forest that made up his backyard. Raising an eyebrow, he rose from his resting place to check it out. Stopping for a moment, he shook his head, trying to get rid of a strange, foreboding feeling that racked his mind.

Pushing his way past fallen trees and hanging vines, he noticed a clearing…and in the middle of that clearing was a huge crater, with something he could not quite see due to the smoke obscuring it in the middle. Before he could step one more step, however, four things fell to the ground before him.

“Oh…crap…” was all he could utter as he looked over the creatures. They were lean and made of dirt and rock, and had gaping mouths with hollow eyes. Their right arms were hideous claws while their left were varying weapons made of stone and dirt. Each made strange growling noises, and the very ground on which the walked cracked beneath their weight. One turned to the others, gesturing towards Jesse, who was planted to the ground in shock and fear, and changed his left arm from a hammer to a sword, leaping at Jesse to strike him down.

He did the only thing that came to mind, and dropped to the ground, avoiding the creature’s strike which cut clean through a once mighty tree. Jesse, yelling in surprise, avoided another strike from one of the creature’s fellows, only this time with a mace. He scrambled to his feet, desperate to get away, only to run into another.

To put it in so few words, it felt like running head first into a brick wall, as Jesse slammed into the creature, whom did not budge. Instead, it swatted him away, with his trip ending abruptly against a tree. He fell from the tree, and rolled into the crater where the object that had brought this about lay. Jesse unknowingly grabbed a hold of said object, and before the creatures could crush him, he was gone in a flash of light.

An alarm clock sounded behind Rick, who slammed his fist on it to shut it off, and reached over and grabbed up his prize possession, his broadsword. Today was the big sword match, between him and Josiah Ottely. The sword match wasn’t what one would call ’legal’ per-say , as people tended to get hurt. Sometimes badly. But, Rick could take care of himself. He always had…

Rick closed the door with a violent kick, and headed out on his way, not noticing a lighting bolt striking down in the alleyway he was headed. You might be wondering how he wouldn’t have noticed such a thing, but Rick isn’t what you’d call the most observant individual. Putting it lightly.

Two punks immerged from the alleyway, shaken, but got a greedy gleam in their eyes when they saw Rick. “Hey brotha,” started one who looked like a druggie, “if ya wanta go this away, ya gotta pay tha price,” he said, leering at Rick, tapping a handgun holstered by his belt.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah!” spoke up the druggie’s scrawny little friend, “Ya gotta pay the price. We don’t accept no credit, only cash, ye dig?”

“I don’t have time for you two jerk offs, so why don’t you go do each other somewhere else or something?” Rick asked, annoyed by the two, while grasping the hilt of his sword. He could take on the gun totting druggie no problem, and the other one didn’t look like he’d put up any kind of a fight.

Before the two punks could even say anything, however, they were killed. The druggie was split in two, via a sword made of some kind of stone entering his gut and slicing upwards. The scrawny one had his head crushed by a mace, and both of the bodies were unmercifully tossed away. Rick’s eyes widened, as five rock-creatures appeared where the two punks had been standing just seconds ago.

“Oh ****!” Rick cursed, as he fumbled with his sword, trying desperately to get it out of it’s sheath. He ducked under a blow from one of the creatures with a mace-hand, watching as said blow went on to crush the side of a brick house, as he dodged away from a slash from another creature.

Rick found himself face to face with another one, it’s gaping eye sockets narrowed as it ‘looked’ at him, how he could never begin to guess. Rick brought his broadsword down with enough force to cleave a man’s head in two. Something did break in two, though it was not the creature’s skull. It was Rick’s sword. He was then roughly grabbed up by the creature and tossed to the ground behind them, hard.

Rick grouped the ground, trying to find SOMETHING to throw at those things, until his hand clasped on something that reminded him of an oversized marble, maybe a small baseball…only, pulsating. He was gone in a second, in much the same way as Jesse.

Alex emerged from the pool, looking refreshed and energized, waved to her friends good bye as they headed home. Her parents wouldn’t be back for a few more hours, so she could hang out here. The owner of the place didn’t mind much, just reminded her to lock up after she was done, or wait for the janitor. It was after school hours, anyways.

She stretched, letting the water droplets fall of her two piece bathing suit, (which was made in yellow/red fiery designs) that showed off her toned, yet incredibly lushes body. She wasn’t one to flaunt, however, as she tended to dress more casual, and less revealing. She just wasn’t one to show off much. Much being the key word. She walked into the locker room to dry off and change.

Which means she didn’t get a chance to notice that a lightning bolt struck down after she had closed the door. You might be wondering ’how’, well that’s easy. The swim-plex, where she was, had an indoor and an outdoor swimming area, and she was using the outdoor. Thus, it was open to the fresh air. The lightning bolt struck the very middle of the pool, though something odd happened: it didn’t get charged with electricity, or raise in temperature in the slightest.

As Alex wrapped a towel around her neck, as reached into her locker, she noticed something. Two people had stepped into the room. She looked over, about to say something, before noticing two things: one, they were not female. Two, they weren’t even HUMAN. “Oh…no…” She backed away, slowly, until she ran into another one of the rock creatures. Fear, paranoia, anxiety, all were good words to show what flashed in her eyes at that moment, as she dashed past them, determined to reach the exit.

She didn’t get to go far, however, as one of the creatures took a swipe at her. It didn’t exactly hit her, but it grazed her enough that she went flying into the pool. Bubbles flying from her mouth, she pleaded to God that she would not die this way, not like this…

Two of the creatures leapt into the pool after her, with an intent to rip her in two. Alex hit the bottom of the pool, hard. It was then, through blurred vision, that she noticed something glowing. The water was warm where it was, which was odd. She swam to it, ignoring the pain in her side from where the creature had grazed her, ignoring the now forming bruise that had come as a result. Her entire goal in life now rested with grabbing a hold of that glowing object--and she didn’t even know why. Her hand clasped onto the object, and just as the rock creature brought down a mighty ax to chop her in half, she was gone.

Anna was driving at a good 70 MPH, shaking her head to the beat of the music blaring over her speakers, letting her body groove to the music. These were the only times she truly felt ALIVE! Even her ‘sessions’ were getting dull and boring, since it was always the same people. The money was good and all, but she didn’t really need money. Oh sure, it was like a bummer to ask her blowhard of a father for cash, but she didn’t much care. She was so engrossed with her music, that she didn’t even care that lightning had just struck down a few yards in front of her car.

Then her care came to a sudden, and abrupt stop, causing Anna to wake up from her own personal ’la-la land’. She shook her head…it felt like she had hit a wall or something…she then noticed just what she had hit. It was one of those rock creatures. “What the ****?!” she screamed, as it brought down a sword-hand, slicing the front of her car in two.

Anna maybe an airhead at times, but even she knew when to bail out. And now was one of those times. Scrambling, she fell out of her car, and started running. To say she was spooked would be an understatement. To say she was piss-pantingly scared would be an understatement. “Jesus, the last time I saw something like that was in a frikkin history book!” she cried out…then noticed, much to her disdain, that the creature had friends. Four in fact.

One of the creatures tore off a piece of the road, and tossed it at her. She barely dropped to the ground fast enough to avoid the flying piece of road. ’How strong ARE these guys?!’ she mentally screamed, before rolling out of the way of another sword strike. She noticed something that reminded her of a baseball with a lighting bolt etched into it, never mind the fact that it was glowing, so she picked it up to throw at them. Hopefully, to serve enough of a distraction to run away. What she didn’t count on would be the fact that she would disappear in a flash of light. Not to say she wasn’t hysterical about it.

Will stretched and yawned. It was getting late, that was for sure. He glanced out the window to see a lightning bolt strike down near the apartment building. “Oh well, no problem to me--wait…my bike is out there. ****!” He bolted up, and out of the chair he had laid back in, and ran out the door, making more of a mess of his living room as he tossed things out of his way.

Will silently mourned the lose of his bike, as it now stood in pieces. The odd thing was that none of the pieces of his once great bike were hot, though he didn’t much care, nor notice. What he did notice was something approaching from behind. Grabbing up what used to be his handle bar, he swirled around--to face an old lady.

‘Goddamn this infernal over imagination,’ Will thought, as he slowly began to rub the back of his head, until he noticed something else; that old woman was running away. Very fast. He looked behind him to see six rocky creatures rushing at him. “Oh bloody hell!” he yelled, as he tossed the piece of bike at them, not caring what it did, then another and another.

He grabbed up one more piece, before being tossed back, into the building. Hard. He would swear that he saw little birdies appear in his vision. Then he took a look at what he had grabbed up in his haste. “What the hell? It looks like a little glowing base-” he never got to finish his sentence, as the light consumed him and he was gone in a second.

    Part 3

“Ball!” came a British voice, waking Jesse from his stupor. Before he could look around to see where the voice had come from, he was thrown backwards due to a punch hitting him between the eyes. Jesse stumbled back, before he lashed out with his leg at the unknown assailant, landing a powerful blow to his chest. Jesse’s eyes flew open, as he looked around.

The one with the British voice was over in a corner, and he had shoulder length blond hair, a goatee, and wore casual clothes. Another one, who was gasping for air, was a young woman with short, dark hair, obviously Hispanic, and wore a two piece bathing suit. Jesse barely took time to note that she had a nasty bruise on her side. Then he saw another young lady, who wore clothes that were rather tight, and had brown hair with blond streaks. Then he saw another guy running at him, before he was, yet again, made familiar with the floor.

Jesse swung his fist at the guy’s head, forcing him off of him, catching brief glimpses of highly advanced technology, before the unknown guy started pounding on his back. Jesse, letting out a hiss of pain, slammed his foot into the guy’s stomach, then followed up with an upper cut to the nose. “Break it up you two!” the British guy yelled, as he grabbed Jesse and held him back. This only gave the other man time to get up, and try to punch Jesse again. However, Jesse ducked, just in time for the British guy to become familiar with the other guy’s fist.

If you are confused by this, don’t worry. I think we all are. Luckily, this short scrape didn’t last long, as they were thrown from one another by something. When Jesse finally got his bearings straight, he noticed he was looking at a young girl…made of metal. She had green hair, and silver skin with aqua blue eyes. She wore a bright red headband and she had a star, which was golden, built in the middle of her forehead. Jesse stood up, as did the others, though he noted that the Hispanic girl had a little trouble due to her side, and watched the young girl(?) strangely.

“You shouldn’t be fighting yourselves you know,” the robot girl’s voice was bright and chipper, yet held something of a commanding air to it. “Now then!” she exclaimed, “What are your names? Mine is Beta 3.” She smiled as best as she could, which was surprising enough.

“Uh…my name is Jesse Alonso,” he said, a bit weirded out. After all, not every day you run away from rock creatures and end up in some weird place with a chipper robotic girl as your ’host’.

“Alex Fernandez…” the Hispanic girl stammered.

“Anna Binax,” the other girl answered, uncertainly.

    “Will Hellroy…”

“Where the HELL are we?!” came the voice of, what Jesse would later describe, as an apish looking man, the same one who had attacked him. Jesse noticed the guy was holding a broken sword, he wondered why.

“Peace, please. I will explain all,” Beta3 answered as polite as she could, “But first I need to know your name for familiarity sakes.”

“Rick Daemon,” the young man answered, after a moments decision.

“It is nice to meet all of you, though I wish it could have been at another time, less…drastic then this. Oh!” she exclaimed, noticing Alex’s bruise, “You’ve been hurt…what did this?”

“Some weird rock creature attacked me--there were a few of them, actually. The last time I’ve seen anything like that was in the times before the ’Fall of Heroes’ happened.”

Beta nodded sadly, before addressing the others, “And these creatures…they attacked you to?”

A general ’yeah’ followed from that, as the others nodded slightly. Beta looked sorrowful, before talking again, “Then he knows--if he sent the Golems, he must know.” She sighed.

“Wait, who’s he? What are you talking about?” Jesse asked, trying to figure out what was going on.

Beta3 smiled weakly, then got a faraway look in her eyes, as if remembering something that had happened to her long ago. “This--this is not a happy tale. It’s not even finished as of yet. But it must be told…and it must be finished.” She then told the five of her father, and how the Ronin was created. She skimmed over a few things that weren’t important for the moment, briefly mentioning others. When she was through, she was afraid they wouldn’t understand.

“So…you’re telling me that we’ve been brought here to save the world?” Jesse asked, arching an eyebrow. Beta nodded in response. “But, why us? I mean, I’m not what you’d call ’superhuman’ like those heroes from a decade ago, or nothing.”

“I-I don’t know why you were chosen. All I know is that the Lightning Sphears, which you hold in your very hands, chose you. Not the other way around.”

“This Kaiser…why dose he want the Earth so badly? I mean, he has galaxies under his control, why would he care about this little planet so much?”

“I don’t know that either. The thing is, I don’t know what the Kaiser is planning. But what ever it is, it started the day of my father’s death…he could have returned any time before now, but why he didn’t, I don’t know.”

Rick was the next one to step up and question her, asking, “Why should we care about what happens to everyone else? It’s not our problem, let the army deal with it! They handled the aftermath the Fall of Heroes, they can handle this.”

“Your government is weakened now, more then ever, by an alien race who didn’t want to mess with the red tape. Right now, for lack of a better term, you have no real army,” Beta3 answered him, curtly.

“Still not my problem,” came Rick’s hotheaded reply.

“Nor is it mine,” Anna spoke up. “I didn’t sign up to save the world, and I remember what happened to the heroes that tried this before. They all died, remember?”

Beta looked down at her feet, unsure of what to say. She wouldn’t force them to do this, she wasn’t that type of person. They were right too. Even the original Ronin had fallen before the forces of evil…and that event the humans referred to, ’The Fall of Heroes’, it took an equally chaotic force to combat the evil. She looked, hopefully, at Will and Alex’s faces, but all she saw was indecision and fear. She couldn’t ask them to do this. They were just teenagers, hardly even old enough to drive in some of their cases.

“Fine,” Beta3 looked up to see the speaker was none other then Jesse, who was staring at his Lighting Sphear intently, “I’ll do it.”

“But, you could be killed!” Beta3 exclaimed, shocked that he would take this kind of a risk.

Jesse smiled, almost sadly, before replying, “You don’t get many chances to be a hero…might as well take what few you have now. After all, the world needs a hero every now and then…”

Beta, for one brief moment, was suddenly reminded of her father. His self sacrifice, his determination, everything there was about him-she saw reflected in this young human. Maybe even something more.

    “So…what do I do?”

“Come here, and I’ll show you how to activate it,” Beta3 said, motioning him to her. He placed his larger hand into hers, and was surprised.

“You…you feel like flesh!” he exclaimed in shock.

“Oh, that’s for medical purposes. I can control the hardness of my body…to the point where its nigh impenetrable, to where its as soft as human skin. After all, it wouldn’t due to have hard metal fixing bruised, open wounds, now would it?” she said, smiling. “Now then, you have to concentrate…hard…” The Lightning Sphear started to glow, “That’s it! You’re doing it!” Beta3 stepped away from Jesse, as the Lightning Sphear turned into pure lightning energy.

Jesse screamed out, his hand being consumed in the lightning. As his eyes went pure white, his entire body was consumed in a massive bolt of lightning. The lightning melded with his body, becoming pieces of armor, until his entire body was covered in glowing, electric armor. Then, in a flash of light, the glowing went away and where Jesse had stood, now stood an armored warrior.

The majority of his armor was a blackish color, with other areas being a much darker black, to stand out in contrast, and his visor was also pure black. He had lightning bolts running from his knees to his feet, on his arms and shoulders. His visor, black and jagged, glowed white for a moments time. Stepping forward, he shook his head. The fellow teens looked on at him with horror and shock. What had happened to him?! Beta3, however, looked on in admiration and joy. Black Lightning lived again.

“Whoa…such…POWER.” Came Jesse’s voice, as he flexed and stretched, trying to get used to this new feeling. His visor informed him of things, like what he was looking at, how many people was in the room, how much a certain thing weighed, stuff like that that would prove useful in a combat situation. It also was scanning he, himself, to adapt to his body, and make any necessary changes. Lightning crackled on his armored hand, as he made a fist.

“Now what?” Jesse asked, his voice changed from normal. It was deeper, and had more of an edge to it, and lost a good part of its southern dialect. Why, Jesse could only guess at. Maybe it was to hide his voice so no one would recognize him?

“Now you have to fight Kaiser Deabora’s forces. Remember, don’t take them lightly, no matter what. You have a built in teleporter in your armor, which I am sending quadorinats to for your built in computer.”

“What about us?” Anna asked, still wary of Jesse, or should she say, Black Lightning. He didn’t look anything like the old heroes. The old heroes had a heroic look to them, and wore bright colors and just made you feel SAFE. She remembered, one time when she was little she was saved by one of them. Star Father, if she remembered correctly. A Class 9 level Metahuman had escaped and was ravaging the land. She would learn later that Class 9 was one of the most deadly classes of all Metahumans, a global threat. Star Father had beaten it with little to no trouble, subduing the creature and taking it to a Metahuman jail. At one point in the fight, however, he had to pick her up to save her from being crushed by the Class 9. It wouldn’t be till one year later, when the ’Fall of Heroes’ happened…

She shook her head, clearing it of thoughts. All she knew was that she didn’t feel safe around Black Lightning, at all. Beta3 spoke up, telling them, “I’m sorry, but it’ll take me awhile longer to get the main teleportation generators to work. They haven’t been in use for several centuries now, after all.”

“****!” Rick exclaimed, before turning to Alex and asking, “What do you think about this crap?”

“I--I don’t know what I believe. I mean, we know that there are still Metahumans out there, the ’Supreme Darkness’ proved that without a shadow of a doubt. But just thinking about what happened to the few remaining heroes before, it’s just…scary…I don’t want to die…” she trailed off, stammering. She to knew of Metahumans who had fallen that day. One of them was her uncle. ’Cybra’ he had called himself. Really, he was a cyborg, using technology from a corporation known as Genesis Corp., when most of his body had been destroyed in a terrorist attack. He had been one of the many who had died that year, in 1995. But the WAY he had died…it still gave her chills…he had fought valiantly, though, to the end. But Alex wasn’t ready to meet a fate like that. She just…wasn’t…

“I know what you mean,” said Will in a shaky voice. While he didn’t know any of the Metas that had fallen that day personally, he had seen some of them around, from what he remembered. But that wasn’t what had him shaken, it was the fact that he had almost died that day. He was one of the few who survived the city destruction. He had seen a lot of good people die that day, dieing in the flames of the inferno…and he didn’t want to be one of them…he didn’t want to be like…

Jesse could understand that. He could understand a lot of it. But, the thing was, he had never been affected by the Fall of Heroes mainly because there were no Metas in Tennessee. Well, he shouldn’t say that, there were four. But at that time, three of them were barely even noticed, and the fourth one…well…Jesse’s fist clenched tighter. He had been the cause of it. The three other Metahumans would later go on to battle an entity known as the Supreme Darkness, but many just wrote it off as a delusion or some such nonsense. So, Tennessee wasn’t what you would call a prime target for a Metahuman killer, thus it was spared. Jesse was one of the few lucky ones to not be targeted and attacked. It took five years to get close to going back to normal, then in 2002 the Supreme Darkness struck, and everything was thrown into discord. Luckily, Jesse thought, everything was fixed by the end of it, but what had happened during…it made his blood boil. Maybe that was the reason he decided to trust Beta3, because he hadn’t been directly involved, or indirectly. Maybe it was the fact that he just plainly didn’t fear death. Or maybe it had to do with the fact that he was a trusting, to an extent, guy. All he knew was that he had something he needed to do.

“The information has been entered. You’re ready to go, Black Lightning. And please…be careful…” Beta3 informed him. Black Lightning, Jesse, nodded in her direction. A screen appeared on his on-helmet computer, telling him what to do. He struck a few invisible buttons on his left arm, and suddenly his entire body was engulfed in a black light. When it went away, he was gone.

    Part 4

When Black Lightning reappeared, he found himself in the middle of a literal frikkin war zone. There were army men everywhere, firing off what ever gun they could get their hands on. Black Lightning’s computer told him that there were 25 soldiers and dropping. 40 dead. 50 dieing. And 19 Golems. Plus, one ??? symbol appeared in the upper left hand corner of his visor. These soldiers were stuck with basic military weapons, for crying out loud. How were they supposed to fight off a force of destruction in the form of the Golems? “This should be fun,” he said, sarcastically. Then the Golems appeared, and as they say, all went to hell.

For the Golems, at least. Black Lightning, enraged, rushed the Golems, slamming his fist into one of them so hard, it lifted it off the ground, then something odd happened. A blast of lightning discharged from his fist, blasting the Golem to dust.

Not stopping to think about it, Jesse stopped an oncoming blow from another Golem, and crushed its weapon in his super enhanced hand. Bringing his two hands together, he crushed another Golem, as more and more swarmed him. Unleashing another discharge of lightning, how he still did not know, but it seemed to be commanded by his thoughts, he destroyed three more Golems…and the building behind them. Looking down at his fist where the blast had come from, he arched an eyebrow…before being dog piled.

Punching another one off of him, he slammed himself backwards to get the one hanging onto his back off. He nearly destroyed that part of the road. Letting lose another blast of the lightning energy, as it was stronger then any lightning bolt, he destroyed four more Golems who were leaping at him. These blasts were draining him! Then a voice entered his head…through speakers inside the helmet.

“Jesse, can you hear me?” came the voice of Beta3.

“Yeah, I can hear you…my lightning blasts, or what ever they are, are draining me! It says on my visor that five more Golems have arrive. What should I do?” Retreat was never the answer, to him. Unless the situation was completely un-winnable, and there was no way out, retreat was the cowards way out, just below suicide. But if it was a strategic retreat, something that wouldn’t cost him later, he’d do it.

“Access your main computer, and ask for the Lightning Blaster, that will give you an edge over the remaining Golems.” Beta3 finished.

He did just that, mentally choosing between inventories, finally finding a strange hand held device/weapon. Two of them, actually. The first was a buzz saw like weapon, and the other was a bladed gun looking weapon. He chose both. In a flash of light, they appeared in his hands. “Whoa…” That’s when the rest of the Golems smashed their way out of another building, and came towards him.

Black Lightning took aim, and fired off a devastating blast of red kinetic/electric energy from the blaster, turning the Golems that it struck into dust, and destroying the building(s) behind it. That was the end of the old Golems. Black Lightning looked around, noticing the five Golems his visor showed had not shown themselves yet. Then something erupted from the ground, and slammed him into, and through, a building.

Shaking his head, he got a clear look at what had just done this to him. It was a larger, rockier version of the normal Golems that he had just kicked around. It was also darker in color, and it made strange sounds. Then, four more appeared beside it. If Jesse had to guess, this was the tougher version of the Golems, incase they ran against something stronger then a human.

Black Lighting swore, then brought up his blaster and let lose. Oh sure, there were huge explosions all around, but that didn’t much matter as they missed their targets. Now, this was of no fault to Black Lightning for several reasons, A) he was inexperienced with a gun, B) this gun, if you’d call it that, had one HELL of a kick to it, and C) these Golems moved fast. REAL fast. Before Black Lightning knew what was going on, he was sent flying again by a powerful blow from one of the Golems, while another positioned itself behind him.

Black Lightning, however, was one of many things; resilient. He managed to get a good rebound off the ground, and blocked the creatures strike at him with his arm. These things were almost as strong as he was! Yelling out in defiance, he knocked the Golem away, and unleashed his blaster upon it, blowing off one of the Golems arms. The Golem, for the best Jesse could guess, glared at him, as it stood back up. Black Lightning looked down at his blaster, and back up. He was surrounded. Five on one. You know what Black Lightning did?

He tossed the blaster away, it disappearing in a flash of light, and readied himself with the buzz saw weapon. ‘Whhhrrrrrrrrrrr’ it sounded, as it started up, its blades electrified. He knew he might not win this. He knew. His left fist cackling with energy, his right holding onto the bladed weapon, his visor glowing white with pure energy. This is what defined a hero. This is what defined a warrior. Would he stand down? Or step up?

His voice was cold and calm as he said, “Let’s rock.” Then, the ground itself shook, and the Heavens wailed. Launching himself at the Golem, his electrified fist finding a home in its face, his blade colliding against it, he brought it down. Another one leapt at him, slamming itself in a full body ram into his own, which Black Lightning slowed down by slamming his feet into the creatures legs, he broke away, slicing off one of the creatures arms, and landing unsteadily on the now shattered road.

He rose. Slowly. Then, with a cry of rage, he unleashed a super charged blast of the black lighting that had been accumulating in his fist, destroying the two oncoming Golems. Black Lightning’s visor turned white with energy again, as he rushed the remaining three Golems, yelling out his battle cry so that the Heavens themselves would hear his rage. Beheading one, slamming his fist into another, and leaving a powerful kick into the chest of the last one, Black Lightning fell back, but landed as steadily as he could. The two Golems had no fear, had no pain. They knew nothing but what Deabora had ordered them to do. In a way, they were the perfect soldiers, never quitting, never stopping, never asking for assistance, they just did. If they failed, then so be it. If they died, they did not care. And these two did not care, as twin blasts disintegrated their heads. The two fell to the ground, to join their kin, as Black Lightning rose.

“One more.” Black Lightning muttered, breathing heavily. “The unknown one…”

The sound of gunfire tipped him off to the location of the creature, whatever it may be. And he ran. What he came to face was nearly twenty soldiers, crushed and torn apart. They were ill equipped, they weren’t even fit to fight a normal war, let alone against something like this. There were even more dead bodies all around the war zone, torn apart, crushed, amongst other things. Then he saw just what this was.

It was twice his size, and had multiple tentacles growing out of its body. It had a beak like mouth with small tusk like appendages growing on the sides of the mouth, and pupil less eyes. It let out an ear shattering shriek, as it caught sight of Black Lightning. Before Black Lightning could do anything, however, he was sent flying into a building. Said building was then crushed while he was still inside by one of the creatures tentacles.

Jesse groaned in pain. That hurt…then Beta3’s voice came to him. “That creature is an Irion, a female from the looks of her. You need to be careful, and re-” Beta’s transmission was cut off by one of the tentacles slamming itself into Black Lightning’s head, sending him, flipping backwards, only to be caught by another tentacle, and slammed into a car.

Black Lightning broke free from the car, or what remained of it, and got back up. He was still griping the buzz saw weapon, good. He started it up, and hurled a blast of the black lightning from his fist at the creature, Irion, from his left hand. The blast did what it had meant to do, and got her attention. Irion growled noticing the new creature was still alive. Her eyes narrowed, as she sent four tentacles towards him.

Slicing one tentacle in half, and another in down the middle, he couldn’t avoid the other two thrashing limbs as they collided with him, hurtling at neck break speeds into another building. “Hello mister house…didn’t see you standing there…if you don’t mind, I’m just going to lay down here now.” It was about then that he noticed something. Well, two things. One, the building, a warehouse from what he could tell, was collapsing, and two, as he saw from far off, the tentacles he had chopped up had regenerated fully. Then the building fell on him.

“GET OFF ME!” Black Lightning yelled, as he tossed fallen metal walls off of his person, and noticing in irritation that he had lost his buzz saw. Damnit, he liked that thing too…he didn’t get much time to worry about it, however, as five tentacles whipped out at him, latching onto his arms, legs, torso and neck. Two went to either arm, while one grabbed him up by the torso, while another pulled his legs together, and the final one wrapped around his neck. He was then, oh so pleasantly hauled up into the air, and then slammed into the road (Or whatever remained of it) several times. When Irion had figured she had made a large enough crater with the young teen’s body, she slammed him into it once more for good measure, before dragging him around and using him as a club to bash into buildings. Needless to say, Black Lightning wasn’t having fun. That was like saying a little child who had bad experiences with needles didn’t like the dentist. Or really, any child. Or adult…

“He’s getting thrown around out there!” Rick exclaimed.

    “Literally.” Will muttered.

“This isn’t funny, Will. We need to do something…” Alex spoke up.

“But what can we do?” Rick asked, his anger flaring up. He hated when he had no control over a situation. Made him feel…weak.

Alex fingered her Lightning Sphear a bit, watching it glow silently, before casting a look into the hologram projector Beta3 had built into the base. Her hands closed around it, as she silently, just as silent as her Lightning Sphear, decided. “We’ll fight.”

Anna looked at her like she had grown a second head--or lost a head, before yelling, “ARE YOU CRAZY?! I’m not going to put my life in danger, let the fuckin army take care of it!”

Rick looked at Anna with a dark glare, before answering her outburst with one of his own, “The army did try to handle it. THEY’RE ******* DEAD, YOU *****!” A glare from Anna promised death, as the two stomped up to one another, yelling and spouting out insults.

Will didn’t look like he knew what to do, and Alex was terrified. “STOP IT ALL OF YOU!” Beta screamed, making everyone pause for a moment to look at the robotic child. “Good GOD I don’t know what the hell the Lightning Sphears were thinking when they chose you…All I know is that Jesse is being tossed around out there, and not one of you will stand and help him?!”

“…I will…” Alex’s voice was quiet, but still audible. She knew it was a bad idea, she knew she might die, but if that one guy, she believed his name was Jessie or something, was willing to face that- that creature, then she would too.

“So will I.” Rick’s voice was firm. No one would ever call him a coward, else they get a bloodied and broken nose, amongst other injuries. Hell, if that scrawny wimp could do it, why the hell not him?

The two stepped forward, looking back at the other two. Anna still had a dark look, marring her perfect face, and Will, poor Will looked like he might collapse. He could still remember the screams of the dieing Metahumans from the Fall of Heroes. The screams of agony from not only the Metahumans, but also from the normal people, being consumed in the hellish inferno. He shuddered inwardly and was shaking outwardly as he remembered finding his brother among the wreckage, the fire scarring a good portion of his body, with a piece of metal sticking out of his chest. But…

But, he would not, could not, let that control his decision here. This could mean the life of another, he knew that. So he, shakily, stepped forward too, much to the utter annoyance of Anna, who threw her hands up in disgust. Then she too grudgingly stepped towards the robot girl, glaring at Rick who was in turn shooting death glares at her. If you couldn’t beat them, join ‘em.

Beta looked at them, surprised. From being about to kill one another, to accepting this, she was shocked. Then again, the human species had a way of shocking her, in the years she had awaited this day she had witnessed several peculiar sites that was the main cause of humanity. Daytime TV being chief among them. “Do you remember what I explained to Jesse?” she asked them.

“Yeah, something about concentrating real hard,” Rick answered her question. Then his Sphear started to glow softly, before violently pulsating. Crimson energy consumed his body, as he disappeared in a similar way like Jesse. The others followed suit, with Anna being the last to activate her Sphear.

The result was four heavily armored teens, each with similar designs as Jesse’s armor, only different colors. Don’t think that they are brightly colored, however. If anything, each of them have rather dull colors, even the black that makes up the majority of their armor was dull…

“Whoa…so that’s what sex feels like…” The dark blue one, Will, commented.

“No…that was even better,” the dull pink one, Anna, commented.

“I’m not even going to ask why we’re multicolored,” the crimson one, Rick, said disdainfully.

“I’ve never felt anything like this before--it’s so different.” And, by default, the dirty yellow one is and forever will be, Alex.

“Are you guys ready to do combat?” Beta3 asked.

A general ’yeah’ followed. “Good. Though I need to inform you of your personal weapons. I never got to tell Black Lightning, or Jesse, due to the fact that Irion interrupted my transmission. I fear I did not set his built in communicators durability to ’building smashing’ level, a stupid mistake on my part.”

The four teens looked at one another, perplexed, before questioning Beta, or as they referred to her, “Robo girl”, about the personal weapons. Back to Black Lightning!

    Part 5

The good news was this; his suit wasn’t damaged. The bad news? Black Lightning had been made familiar with the buildings surrounding the city so many times, he started to name them. When he had come back from the realm of ’good lord, someone stop this thing’ lala land, that is. Only problem was that he was running out of buildings to name, considering Irion tended to bring them down after she slammed him into them a third or second time. And Black Lightning was getting dizzy. Then his head became implanted, and dragged across, the road. It wasn’t like he hadn’t tried to break free, he had actually ripped off one of the tentacles before now, only it grew back instantly.

Then he found himself, dazed, falling to the ground, the severed remains of the tentacles that bound him falling around him. Shaking his head, he looked up to see an almost perfect double of him. Almost. For one thing, this new person was slightly shorter, and leaner. He also had dark blue where Black Lightning’s black was. “Figured you could use some help!” The voice had been changed, losing most of its accent, but Black Lightning could still tell who it was, Will. He then cast looks around him, to notice others, whom he deduced by the size and shape of their bodies to be Rick, Anna, and Alex.

He also noticed that each of them was wielding their own personal weapons. Will had a spear like weapon, only it was electrified and jagged like a lightning bolt, Alex had cutlass styled weapons, also jagged and glowing, while Anna had a whip like weapon. Rick held a rather large crimson broadsword, with one jagged edge and one straight edge. “What the crap…?” he questioned.

“We each have our own personal weapons, you just have to focus and call for it,” Will explained, as if it was the easiest thing in the word, “that robot girl never got to inform you…”

So Black Lightning held out his right hand, as he was right handed, and focused. A ball of black energy formed, and as he closed his hand around it, it became a massive battle ax. Even though it was almost as big as he was, it didn’t seem to weigh a thing, which gave Black Lightning pause, before he was alerted by his teammates that Irion was coming their way. “So, I guess we call each other by our codenames?” he said.

“Yeah. That way no one can figure out who we are, and thus we can’t get in trouble by anyone.” Rick, or should that be Lightning Red, explained.

Pink Lightning, Anna, cast doubting looks around at her ‘team’. They were so screwed. It was all she could do not to scream as a tentacle smashed its way through the ground to swipe at them. Black Lightning took the offensive, his black visor flashing white, as he hacked and slashed through the on coming tentacles, towards Irion. Lightning Yellow, Alex, joined in, followed by Rick. Will and Anna was forced to stay behind, due to the fact that Will, or Blue Lightning’s, weapon wasn’t that great for hand to hand, and Anna’s weapon wasn’t able to cut through things. That and Will was petrified, and Anna…just didn’t feel like rushing head first into danger.

But Anna did find out two things; one, she had a natural flair for the whip, and two when ever it struck, it was like a bolt of lightning followed by a clap of thunder, as she dispelled three tentacles in one stroke. Blue Lightning used his spear’s reach to his advantage, taking out tentacles that were a long way off, and beating back others with the non-bladed side. He then remembered Black Lightning’s little trick, and unleashed a blast of blue electric energy, knocking back more tentacles.

Meanwhile, the trio of Black, Red, and Yellow hacked and slashed their way to where Irion should have been. But, they couldn’t find her anywhere. Then the ground erupted, as Red and Yellow were flung backwards several meters, each of them cursing, as Black Lightning was pinned down by the sheer mass of Irion. Irion screeched in his face, her clawed feet keeping his arms from moving much, as she reared back to rip his helmet off and tear into his skull. Unfortunately for her, however, four blasts of red and yellow electric energy sent her reeling back, setting Black Lightning free, as he brought his ax blade down into Irion’s shoulder, making the creature screech out in pain.

Will took aim, and let his spear fly, making a sickening sound as it entered Irion’s body, causing her to screech out even more. She tugged the spear out of herself, tossing it aside, before Jesse struck back, bringing his battle ax in a downward slicing motion, slicing Irion’s head clean off.

Purple blood splattered on Black Lightning, as he turned around, not seeing a new head immediately grow back, nor the gaping wound he had inflicted just heal up in seconds. He paid for this, by being grabbed up and slammed into Lightning Red, who pushed him off of him. “How the hell are we supposed to beat something that can REGENERATE HAVING ITS HEAD CUT OFF?!” Black Lightning yelled, as he got back up, slashing and hacking another batch of tentacles that came his way.

“I don’t know, but I do know this; my arm is getting tired!” Pink Lightning complained, as she deflected another tentacle. She was then slammed into the pavement from behind, not catching the tentacle.

Lightning Red rushed Irion, blasting blasts of the energy lightning, before leaping up, his physical strengths enhanced, and landing a powerful blow to Irion’s chest, making the creature stagger backwards, before he was knocked away. Alex followed suit, hacking and slashing her way towards the monster, trying to do some lasting damage. Black Lightning, at this point, had been forced back away from Irion.

“Black Lightning?” came the voice of Beta. Apparently the last trip had fixed up his communicator. “Yeah, Beta3?” Black Lightning growled, as he slashed another tentacle.

“There is a way to stop Irion from regenerating. Switch your battle ax into thunder mode, and you will have a blaster that is able to nullify regeneration due to genetic manipulation.”

Black Lightning cocked an eyebrow at this information, but did it anyways. “Battle ax, Thunder mode!” suddenly, it disappeared and rearranged itself into a blaster like weapon. Several panels opened up just before reaching the main part of the ’gun’, such as it was. Taking aim, while Lightning Yellow and Lightning Red hacked a clear path towards Irion, Black Lightning fired the blaster, its recoil sending him skidding several feet backwards, as the black burst of lightning tore through everything in its way, finally slamming into Irion herself, causing a massive explosion.

Irion still stood, however, but that was soon changed as the second part of the battle ax Thunder mode kicked in, and a mighty shockwave burst from the blaster, which changed back into an ax while sending Black Lightning head over heels (To be caught by Anna, BTW) and the shockwave turned the road into so much dust, and nearly ripped Irion in two. Amazingly, however, the creature was still alive. Though barely. Infact, it hardly even had a heartbeat.

The ’group’ gathered together, as Black Lightning tried to get his bearings straight. After catching him, Anna, or Pink Lightning, had tossed him away, saying, “Don’t lean on me,” or something to this extent. Black Lightning wasn’t exactly in the soundest of minds.

“I guess we can finish it off now,” Lightning Red commented. Most of the creatures tentacles were broken, or sliced, or burnt, or some other such thing, and its main body was also severally damaged and it was near death. Then, a black and red bolt of energy struck down, healing Irion and doing something peculiar to it. Namely making it well over 100 meters tall. Black Lightning’s visor piped in, stating that Irion was now well over 159 meters tall, exactly.

“Well then…” Black Lightning looked away, before looking back up, straining, at Irion, “I’ve got nothin’. How ’bout yall?”

“…I think I need to change my armor…” came the fear stricken reply from Blue Lightning.

“If I had it my way, we would all be home, doing some stupid thing right now. Not fighting THIS thing…” Pink Lightning muttered.

Lightning Red was too shocked to say anything, and Lightning Yellow had taken an interest in the surrounding crushed buildings.

“’Eh, Beta3, we kind of have a problem out here, and no, small isn’t the word for it.”

“On it. Your Lightning Mechs should arrive at any moment.”

In a flash of light, several vehicles had appeared before them. One was a weird tank looking weapon, two were almost identical jet like weapons, another was a more aerodynamic jet, and the final one was a drill like weapon. Each of them were many times larger then the average military weapon, and indeed, they looked a lot more futuristic then anything owned by the military. “…I call shotgun!” Blue Lightning yelled.

“What. The. Hell. Beta3...why did you just happen to have giant city destroying vehicles of death? And WHERE did you hide them?” Black Lightning asked as calmly as he could.

“Well, Kaiser Deabora is able to empower monsters with his own energy, making them larger and tougher then ever before, so I figured I might as well build something to combat them. As to where I keep them, inside of a mountain fortress.”

“I don’t even care anymore…” Black Lightning muttered, and let out a startled cry as he was suddenly teleported into his vehicle, the drill tank thing. “Wow…” he said, as he saw the inside of it.

Lightning Red ended up in the tank, while Pink and Yellow were in the twin jets and Blue got the cooler jet all to himself. Needless to say, none of them had a clue as to what to do next. Black Lightning started up his driller by pressing a button that stated ‘Go’ in an alien language. Ah, the wonders of built in translators. The others followed suit, and soon they got their feel of the mechs down path.

Blue Lightning discovered that the four satellite dish looking things on his jet were actually what us Kaiju fans call Mazer tanks, but since in this world Kaiju don’t exist, he just called them laser cannons. And we’ll leave it at that. Firing off four beams of lasers, Blue accidentally destroyed more buildings then Irion, who had been trying to find our ’heroes’, such as they are, completely missing the aforementioned alien. How is anyone’s guess. He then had to swerve out of the way from Anna, who was hurtling out of control in his general direction. Alex, however, had taken to the air like a swan, though she didn’t know how to work the weapons. Anna had found out, when she was trying to pull up, however, as she unleashed volley after volley of missiles in the surrounding areas, causing many new craters to be made.

Meanwhile, Rick had figured out, for the most part, how to work his tank, as he sent artillery shell after artillery shell into Irion, the blasts annoying her but not damaging her, much. Jesse, on the other hand, had learnt something; her regeneration was still nullified. He learnt this by drilling through one of her tentacles. He didn’t have much time to share such information, however, as another tentacle wrapped around his drill tank and tossed it into the air.

“OK, now we’re just being tossed around…and I think Irion’s laughing…” Blue Lightning mentioned.

“Screw her!” Lightning Red yelled, as he fired blasts from the gun looking weapons, though they would later learn that their weapons were more powerful then anything the army could dish out, into Irion’s face, making her drop the drill mech. Screeching out in anger, she brought one of her tentacles up to smash the tank, only to have said tentacle be battered away by several high powered missiles slamming and exploding into it. “You owe me one, Rick!” Anna’s voice came over the speakers, then let out a startled cry when the same tentacle came towards her, only for it to be severed by the drill mech, using its boosters to fly into the air.

Said drill mech, which held Black Lightning, was then slammed into the ground by Irion’s clawed foot. “Crap!” came Black Lightning’s voice, sparks flying all around him. However, you’d be surprised what the combined might of a twin cannons from a super tank, four laser cannons and around 20 missiles will do to a monster, as they sent Irion reeling backwards. Who was then floored by Alex’s mech ramming into her.

“This is fun and all,” Black Lightning’s voice sounded over their speakers, “but how are we going to put Irion down for good? Our weapons are doing more damage to the city--”

“What city? There’s nothing left but a major pothole!” Blue Lightning’s voice cut in.

“Shut up! As I was saying, we’re doing more damage to the surrounding area then to Irion. We need to do something to bring Irion down, and FAST!” Black Lightning finished in a yell as he was sent hurtling away by a tentacle which had come out of the ground. More explosions followed, as Pink Lightning (And Lightning Yellow, as she had finally figured out how to work the missiles) unleashed volley after volley of missiles while Blue Lightning flew around Irion, blasting her with his lasers, while Lightning Red, driving around, dodging the tentacles as best as he could, fired away, driving the tentacles away.

Blue Lightning then learnt something quite by accident: one of his laser blasts was more then enough to not only destroy a good sized building, but also to destroy the building behind it, and around it. Then he took into account the fact that he had been blasting Irion with FOUR such beams, and she showed little more then extreme annoyance--he was now happy he was inside an incredibly fast, durable jet thing. Whatever it was called. He would have been more awe stricken if he knew what Anna and Alex’s missiles were capable of…then he let out a startled scream as he was sent head first into Anna’s vehicle. She never got to maneuver out of the way.

“WATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOING, BRITAIN BOY!” Pink Lightning’s rage induced voice yelled out.

“I’m a LONDON boy! LONDON!” Blue Lightning yelled back, regaining control of his vehicle.

Alex circled Irion, determined to bring down the goliath she-beast, firing missile after missile into her tough hide. She wondered briefly how many missiles this thing had, before having to take evasive tactics to dodge an on coming, speeding, tentacle that was aimed solely at her person. Or vehicle. Whichever. She also barely avoided one of the few remaining buildings in this city, only to see the tentacle crush it.

Then she heard Irion screech out in pain, and Lightning Yellow looked behind her to see what was going on. There were two good sized gashes in Irion’s plated stomach, from twin drills finding their mark. “Take that, you hentai monster wannabe!” laughed Black Lightning, who was, yet again, tossed away, this time a lot harder.

“OK, I call time out,” Black Lightning’s voice rung over their speakers, “yet again, HOW DO WE PUT HER DOWN FOR GOOD?!”

“Form the Lightning Warrior mode!” Came Beta3’s voice over the speakers.

“I‘m not even going to ask what the ‘Lightning Warrior Mode‘ is. But, fine. Lightning Warrior Mode, activate!” Black Lightning yelled, then was shocked as all of their mechs gathered together and formed into one, humanoid being.

Black Lightning’s Drill Tank split into two halves, the drill on either side also splitting up into three claw like appendences, as the boosters built into them levitated them into the air. It seemed to make arms and shoulders. Lightning Red’s tank’s rollers pulled into the vehicle, as the twin cannons turned from the top of the tank to the back of it. The bottom of the tank opened up, and switched around forming a rough torso shape. Lightning Yellow and Pink’s jets formed into two leg like things, hooking onto the tank of Lightning Red’s, while Black Lightning’s arms hooked onto the upper body. Blue Lightning’s jet transformed into a ferocious head and connected onto the neck, while its cannons attached to the mecha’s left arm.

Much like the Ronin themselves, the Lightning Warrior mech didn’t exactly scream ’safe, heroic, and I won’t hurt you’, instead it more so screamed, ’death to all who appose me, you’re going to be sorry, and I make Gods cry’, what with the pure white eyes amidst the pure black face, drill fingers, general menacing position it took, and the fact it had two super sized cannons on its back. Not mentioning the four laser cannons attached to its left arm. Or the fact that said white eyes were in a glare that would make Batman shudder in fear.

“Beta3...you have had a lot of time on your hands, haven’t you?” Blue Lightning asked, dryly.

    “Yes I have. Why?”

Looking around the high-tech, multifunctional mini command center that made up the control room of the giant humanoid robot they were in, he sighed and replied, “No reason.” Indeed, it was quite spacious in there, filled with high-tech computers, and other stuff that made Star Trek look outdated. Each of them were seated in different seats apart from one another, with Black Lightning being in the middle, Blue Lightning being above him, to the right, while Lightning Red, Pink and Yellow were all below him, in the left, right and left corners of the room specifically. He didn’t have much time to muse over why, however, as the Lightning Warrior was sent flailing backwards by a thunderous blow to its chest.

Luckily they caught themselves before the mech fell and caused even MORE damage to the surrounding area. It already looked like it had been bombed to hell…

“Would you work with me?!” yelled Pink Lightning towards Yellow, as they tried to move. At least they hadn’t tripped themselves yet.

“I’m trying, I’m trying!” Yellow shot back, accidentally hitting a dull blue button, causing the boosters built into the ’feet’ to flair up, sending everyone scrambling. “PUSH THE BLUE BUTTON ON YOUR LEFT!” Yellow yelled in despair as the Lightning Warrior was sent spinning around.

Pink did so, and the entire mecha was sent into the air, luckily instantly stabilizing itself so that it wouldn’t go out of control. It was around this time that Black Lightning learnt that he had control of the arms, and noted curiously that he also had a blue button. Pushing it, he started up the boosters that were attached to the back of the Lightning Warrior, sending them hurtling at high speeds towards Irion, slamming into her.

The boosters on their feet cut out, as did the ones blaring on their back, as they fell back to the earth with an earthshaking rumble. Catching an on coming tentacle, one of the few that remained on Irion, the entire mecha was sent skidding backwards, the ground being torn apart by the friction. Said tentacle was then ripped/cut in two, as the drill fingers enclosed around it and started up.

And there they stood. Irion. The Lightning Warrior. If this was a western, a tumbleweed might have passed by. With a roar, the silence was broken, as the Lightning Warrior hurtled toward Irion, the boosters built into its back blaring. It took a swing at Irion, who dodged the blow with superior reflexes, then counter assaulted the giant mecha by using it’s leg to knock away one of the Lightning Warrior’s arms, then grab it with her clawed feet, using incredible strength to flip the mecha over her, and slam it into the ground.

The Lightning Warrior’s right arm reached up and grabbed the leg the held onto its left arm, and started its drills when it got a good grip. Irion let go, screeching in pain, and battered the Lightning Warrior away as she leapt up, landing on and crushing a building. Bending down, she screeched and leapt back at the Lightning Warrior, using her body as a weapon, slamming them both into the already cracked and destroyed surroundings.

The Lightning Warrior blocked a blow from the she-beast, and left three deep gashes on her neck, as they rolled around on the ground, trying to best the other. The boosters flaring up, the Lightning Warrior was sent into the sky with Irion still attached, trying to peck her way into the mecha. The mecha’s arms were pinned to its sides by the strong grip of Irion, as it flew around, trying to shake the monstrous alien.

The Lightning Warrior slammed its head into Irion’s, dazing the she-beast, and allowing it to get its bearings straight. Two tentacles slammed into the back of its head, however, with enough force to bring down a mountain, making the boosters cut off. The two freefell, and slammed into the ground at near sound barrier breaking speeds, the resulting shockwave bringing down what little remained of the city they were in, causing a crater that was several hundred meters deep to be formed.

Clawing at the broken earth, the Lightning Warrior rose shakily to one knee, dust clouding its vision. Before having a moment to react, however, a badly damaged Irion launched herself at it, screeching in pure fury, most of her tentacles long since destroyed. The resulting blow from the full body slam on Irion’s part caused another, smaller, shockwave, as the Lightning Warrior was pushed against the side of the crater, as Irion went berserk, clawing, pecking, and bashing the mecha as hard as she could.

Drill fingers going, the Lightning Warrior took a swipe at Irion, gouging out her right eye, making the creature back off slightly as it roared out in pain. The boosters built into the Lightning Warriors back flared up, as it sent itself hurtling into Irion’s thrashing form, much like Irion had done to it before, determined to end this conflict once and for all. Though, it did not count on Irion’s clawed feet, and the fact that she would be waiting for such a trick. Irion leapt up, just before the Lightning Warrior hit her, and grabbed the mecha by its head, dragging it across the ground as she ran, finishing her combo by slinging it out of the crater, and hard into the other part of the city.

Rearing her head back, she readied herself to end the fight with one quick blunt peck between the Lightning Warrior’s eyes, only to be driven back by four beams of lasers firing into her face. The Lightning Warrior took this momentary distraction to swing its left leg upwards, slamming it into Irion’s throat, then initiating the boosters, badly burning and injuring the monster. She made a gargling sound, as she feel to her knees.

The Lightning Warrior got up, quickly, as its right hand formed into one huge drill. Said drill turned on, and slowly built up a bluish black kind of energy, as Irion half blinded, bleeding badly, burnt, and almost broken, leapt at the Lightning Warrior in one last, kamikaze assault. The Lightning Warrior reared back, and unleashed the accumulating energy that had gathered in its drill hand, a tightly packed spiral beam coming forth from it, slamming into, and ripping apart, Irion, who fell to the ground, half of her head, and a good portion of her chest, destroyed.

The same black and red energy that had gone into her body escaped when she fell, and she herself disappeared in a flash. Meanwhile, inside the command room of the Lightning Warrior…

Everyone was breathing out a sigh of relief. Half of the things they did was on impulse, and the other half was a mistake. Mostly out of panic, but luckily the mecha didn’t suffer TOO much damage. Then they all collectively cringed as they looked around the ’city’. It looked like someone had dropped the atomic bomb on it after a hurricane! “You know what just hit me?” Blue Lightning spoke up, breaking the silence. “We’re supposed to be the heroes here…”

“Good lord, we’re screwed!” exclaimed Black Lightning, jokingly, to get rid of some of the tension. It worked. Then everyone let out a startled cry as they all disappeared in a blinding white light, the mecha included.

They all appeared in a flash in the command center that Beta3 was in. She was positively beaming at them. “You guys did a GREAT job on your first fight!” she exclaimed.

“What are you talking about?!” Jesse yelled, “The city was destroyed, and I don’t even want to know how many people got killed…”

“But the point of that fight wasn’t to save people,” Beta countered, “But to stop Irion. Cities can be rebuilt, WORLDS can not. It is horrible that we couldn’t save more lives, but you were facing a threat that could have single handedly taken out all of the military forces in the world. I’m very proud of all of you.”

    “I guess…” Jesse muttered.

“How do we get out of these things?!” yelled Anna, who was a bit angry at being ignored.

“That’s easy. Just tell your computers to ‘Power Down’ and you’ll be back to normal.”

They did so, and in a flash of different, though not brightly colored, lights each of them were back to the way they were originally. A serious look crossed Beta’s face, before she addressed them. “I need to know if you’d want to seriously do this from here on out.”

“Hell yeah,” Jesse’s voice sounded, “I’d be a fool to turn this down.”

“Of course,” Alex said, with a little more confidence then when she had started. She glanced over at Will, who looked unsure.

“If these two wimps will, so shall I,” Rick proclaimed, thumping his chest.

“…not like I have anything better to do…” Anna spoke up.

    “S-sure…” Will stuttered.

Beta3 smiled brightly, then held out five watch like devices. “Take these. They will allow me to get into contact with you, and teleport you from where ever you are to here. They’re powered by your Lightning Sphears, which you should carry around at all times. Now then, let us discuss a few things before I let you go home…”

Meanwhile, while they figured out what to do in Beta3’s command center, the almost dead form of Irion appeared in a dark, dank room.

Thea Solon looked in a slight apprehensive fear towards the Kaiser, not knowing what he would do to such a defeat. She was slightly surprised to find his eyes glowing with something of amusement, or some such thing that was close to it. For some reason, this scared her even more. She cast a look towards Thorn whom was also watching the Kaiser.

“How…amusing,” Kaiser Deabora’s voice sounded, his breath ragged. “Thea, take Irion with you to study. There should be valuable information that she could give us.”

Thea, not being one to disobey, agreed instantly, as a rig picked up the almost dead alien. She cast one last look towards the Kaiser, before continuing on her way.

Images flashed before the Kaiser’s eyes, pictures, information, knowledge--POWER. The lights dimmed around his chair, as Thorn, bowing, left his presence, and the armored warrior along with the ‘superior Golem’ also left. “You will learn…” his breath was short, “that it is not the first blow in the war that matters, but the last. How amusing. On their first try, with no previous training, they defeat Irion, one who had given so called Gods pause.” He took a moment to regain his breath. “Perfect.” And the last light turned off, the only thing left to even penetrate the utter darkness that had fallen on the room was the twin lights that showed within the Kaiser’s eyes. Everything was perfect. Everything was going according to plan. Everything.

    Everything.

    To be continued…

Notes: Hello all who may or may not be reading this (I’ll find you bastards, I promise!) this is Burkion, at your service. No, Jesse will not be a Gary Stu. Trust me, he won’t be. The only thing he shares with me is name and general body shape, and I’ll say that I’m actually taller then him. I would like to thank Mecha74 for the creation of Rick, and a numerous number of monsters that will show up at a later time and date. Irion, Black Lightning, the Lightning Ronin, Kaiser Deabora, Anna, Alex, Will, Michael, Magi, amongst other characters and creatures that will show up later/be named later, are owned by me, and to a lesser degree, Raf. The following are owned by Raf, and also to a lesser degree, by me: Thea, the Superior Golem, Thorn, Beta3, and many more to come. As you can tell, this is ever so slightly based off of Sentai and Power Rangers, but also basic superheroes in general. Though, as you can tell, I’m going a different direction then them. Namely with the design choices, the fact that I killed off a number of nameless people, destroyed a city, and it all happened inside of one episode. Also, the ‘heroes’ of this story don’t wear brightly colored spandex costumes, but instead dull, slightly menacing, dark suits of armor. This will also take a more mature direction then most Sentai, or super hero stories do and is obviously not for kids.

This is something of a ‘brother’ series to Raf’s very own Sam and his Unwanted Robot series that he’s writing up, though this takes place a bit later on in the Sam verse, and don’t expect any kind of a full blown crossover just little mentions here and there. Mainly because, honestly, the two styles wouldn’t mesh to well. Sam is more of a ’Good for the whole family’ type thing, and has wackier villains and situations for the most part then LR. While LR, on the other hand, as mentioned before, is more so for the elder audiences, due to certain characters, situations, and the sheer graphic violence that will follow. That and also, Sam was meant to be more so fun then LR, while both series will have its darker moments, Sam will not become as dark as LR will be, on a regular basis, and likewise, LR will not become as lighthearted as Sam can be. Though it’ll get close, I must admit…

Remember, this is just the first episode (And I still don't think it's long enough...) so the episodes will get longer, and in my opion better.

    Burkion, that was amazing! :bravoclap:

The characters, the story, the background, the battles, everything! I know that you got inspiration from Sentai for this, but in my humble opinion there is still allot of originality here and if this were an actual TV series you can bet your *** that I would be tuning in every week or weekday to watch it! :hyper:

That plus I laughed my butt off!

Some of my favorite funny moments....

    ***************

The good news was this; his suit wasn’t damaged. The bad news? Black Lightning had been made familiar with the buildings surrounding the city so many times, he started to name them. When he had come back from the realm of ’good lord, someone stop this thing’ lala land, that is. Only problem was that he was running out of buildings to name, considering Irion tended to bring them down after she slammed him into them a third or second time.

    *************

The only things that I personally see wrong are a couple of spelling errors here and there, there is certainly nothing wrong with anything else that I can see, granted I don't really consider myself a good judge of writing. But in any case I thought this was great and I am absolutely thrilled that my meager creations are going to be a part of this wonderful series. If only the actual Sentai shows being made could be like this. My hat is off to you Burkion, you kicked some serious *** with this story my friend. BRAVO! :thumbs-up:

I actually forgot about some of those jokes, since it's been so long since I've seen 'em myself. (I wrote parts of this MONTHS ago, almost a year now, while updating some of the more troubled parts awhile back.)

I must ask, which character did you like the most? Which villian? (Don't worry. We'll be seeing a big throw down between the Generals, Twilight, Thorn, Thea, Rocko, and a MotW, and the LR.)

Everyone was very well done IMO, but if I have to pick I think Jessie(Black Lightning) is my favorite Ronin just because he seems to have the best lines. As for villains I liked your monster Irion, the golems were really cool and Kaiser Deabora looks like he's going to be a really awesome bad guy. :darklord:

Course depending on what you do with certain characters in future installments my favorites could change real fast.

    How'd I handle Rick, BTW?

Oh, and for size relevnce, Irion was 150 meters in this, and the LW was 100 meters even.

However, we (Myself and Raf) decided to downsize 'em, so now Irion will be standing at a good 70, or 75 meters with the LW at 60.

Oh, and to give you guys a visual on what Ceronus looked like...

    Ceronus
Around 12 feet tall, his right eye is permanently shut due to a nasty scar running right through it, his body is covered in battle scars and his skin is a dull grayish color. His hair is long and shaggy, matted with blood and dirt, and he wears old armor made of the bones of his enemies. On his shoulder are the half skulls of two powerful demons, and on his chest is the skull of their leader. His lone eye is blood red, with a dull blue hue to it, and on his back he carries a scarred battle ax, stained with blood, and he carries in one hand a battered staff. He wears a cape that is made of the toughened skins of demons and victims he has slain. The skulls on his armor scream out in pain and agony whenever they can…whenever he allows them to.

    Yeah. Is he frightening enough?
