Here's my two entrants for the FFKT.

First off, my main monster and star creation:

    Tyrantis

    Kaiju Type:
    Giant Dinosaur Mutation

    Alignment: Neutral with good tendencies

Story Appearances: The Tyrantis Saga (The Terror of Tyrantis and its sequels)

    Height: 80 meters

    Weight: 66,000 tons

    Length: 240 meters

    Powers/Abilities:
Enhanced Intelligence- Tyrantis is smarter than the average tyrannosaur, possibly having the capacity for a human level of intellect.

Regeneration- Tyrantis has a healing rate that is only slightly less powerful than Godzilla’s, being able to replace complex structures like limbs or vital organs in a few minutes. This isn’t to say he’s invincible, however, as Tyrantis’s central nervous system heals significantly slower (although it still heals, unlike that of a normal animal, and heals relatively fast at that). Enough blunt trauma to Tyrantis’s brain can knock him out, and completely destroying about 75% his brain will kill him, although the latter is quite a task considering how armored his skull is.

Improved Strength- Tyrantis is stronger than the average tyrannosaur, even if they were equal to his size. His neck muscles are particularly well developed since Tyrantis has a tendency to grab opponents with his jaws and toss them around.

Bone-crushing Bite- Tyrantis’s jaws are strong in every aspect, from the bone that makes them to the muscles that move them. With one focused bite he is able to crush things as strong as bone and even metal.

Fire Breath- Using a group of currently unnamed internal organs, Tyrantis can breathe fire. His fire breath is triggered by feelings of anger and stress, and gets progressively stronger the more P.O.ed he becomes. It’s a rather versatile weapon, as Tyrantis has used it multiple ways: breathing fire balls, rays of flame, biting a foe and breathing fire into the wound (which causes a sizable explosion within the opponent’s body), using the fire to enhance his locomotion (using the fire to propel him into the air, turning around an using it like a jet engine to pus him forward swiftly, etc.), and (on incredibly rare moments when rage absolutely overpowers him) bathing his opponent and everything else within a half mile radius in flame. Despite its many uses, Tyrantis rarely employs this ability in battle. He prefers to fight tooth and claw and often saves his fire breath for a finishing blow or to get himself out of a tight situation.

Strengths and Weaknesses:Tyrantis is best suited to close range combat. While he does have a suitably powerful ranged weapon, Tyrantis instinctively prefers to fight close to his opponents and feels more comfortable ripping into them with his jaws. His “think on your feet” style of fighting makes him rather adaptable in combat situations, making his moves hard to predict. He’s also a wonderful team player that will go out of his way to help his allies in a fight.

Tyrantis's brain is a huge disadvantage. He can be knocked out just as easily as any other creature. While his regen allows him to repair damaged nerve cells (allowing him to recover from brain damage unlike normal animals), it does not make him immune to blunt trauma. The fact that his head is his main weapon means he is constantly putting his weak spot in danger. It'd be like Achille's fighting solely with his heel for 95% of a battle (not that Ty's head is his only weakspot, mind you). His head is well armored to make up for this, but that only protects it from piercing blows, as blunt force trauma can still shake his brain around inside his skull (as it would for any normal creature) and cause damage that way.

As an incredibly active fighter built for a rather inactive style of hunting, he tires out very easily. Tyrantis is smart enough to conserve his strength, but a fast enough opponent could easily confuse him long enough for him to overexert himself.

Tyrantis's regen, while powerful, adds to this exhaustion. Enough blows to Tyrantis in quick succession would easily make him pass out. Any blow that would be mortal for a normal animal (such as regenerating a limb) would probably be enough to seriously weaken Tyrantis, allowing the other kaiju to simply beat him in submission. Several mortal blows, such as, say, three successful removals of a limb (which was the main example that caused this fuss) would easily be enough to knock him out. And again, for redundancy, HE KNOCKS OUT AND EXHAUSTS LIKE A NORMAL T.REX. THE KIND OF OVER-EXHERTION THAT WOULD PUT ANY NORMAL ANIMAL TO SLEEP WOULD STILL WORK ON TYRANTIS. To reiterate again, he can be knocked out by repeated heavy blows to the brain, and if a foe manages to destroy a vast amount of that organ he will expire.

Tyrantis’s fire breath also offers a weak point, although when it is exploited it can become very dangerous. It is weak at long range; burns are painful, but they have to be extreme if they're to do any lasting damage. Tyrantis's fire is only strong in close range, or when he's on the verge of death (the later case is more likely to kill him than his opponent, anyway). If angered beyond the capacity for rational thought (a state that can only be instigated by extreme emotional duress and by bringing him very near to death), Tyrantis will spew forth a virtual inferno of flame (this attack was described in the special powers section). This attack leaves Tyrantis exhausted and often does severe damage to his jaws. Theoretically it could even damage his brain, although this has yet to happen. If a foe could instigate this attack they would instantly knock out Tyrantis, although the cost would be pretty dear.

His jaws are incredibly strong but need to get a good grip to exert bone crushing force. Notice that in the sample fight he had to think ahead of time before being able to use it effectively. They also put his weak spot (i.e. his head) right in the middle of the battle.

    Physical Appearance:
    http://TyrantisTerror.deviantart.com/art/T...a-BAMF-62245191

Personality: Having a brain capable of human intelligence doesn’t make Tyrantis a civilized being. Tyrantis acts very much like a Viking warlord; he loves the thrill of battle and respects bravery on the battlefield even more than prowess. Tyrantis can be negotiated with and generally tries to do the right thing (to an extent, since he’s never been taught what the right thing is) and is not the kind of kaiju that destroys things without a purpose. Tyrantis only fights for food or to protect his family, territory, and life (although he’ll spar with other kaiju for funsies).

Fighting Style: Tyrantis primarily a tooth and claw fighter, with an emphasis on the word “tooth.” Since Tyrantis lacks large, powerful arms, he often uses his head in their place. He’ll grab and toss foes with his powerful jaws and neck muscles or headbutt kaiju with his heavily armored (and horn covered) noggin. That’s not to say his other body parts are underused, as Tyrantis will fight with any and all weapons at his disposal. Tyrantis generally takes the offensive, being a predator by nature, and shows a great amount of ingenuity when it comes to fighting. He generally thinks on his feet while fighting instead of strategizing before hand because it’s more fun that way. As stated before, Tyrantis reserves his strongest weapons for tight spots or the end of his battle, as he feels using them early on is cheap.

Origin: In 2005 the soft tissue of a Tyrannosaurus rex was discovered. This paleontological breakthrough sent shockwaves through many members of the scientific community, and soon enough someone decided to try and clone a dinosaur.
Flash forward to 2017. The project, secretly funded by the government and a handful of corporations, was successful in not only cloning a T.rex, but roughly seventy other species of dinosaurs as well. The prehistoric beasties inhabited a relatively large and hitherto unknown island nicknamed Typhon Isle. News of the island leaked out to the public and was met with a primarily negative reaction. Many of the financial backers pull out, leaving the scientists crippled financially and the government desperately trying to save face. In attempt to salvage some use for the project, the army uses the dinosaurs as test subjects for a new type of virus. This virus, codenamed Omega Virus D, was originally supposed to be a super soldier serum, but none of the test subjects that were more complicated than a jellyfish were able to survive it. It tested poorly as a weapon as well, but at least the dinosaurs were all dead, being left to rot on the forgotten island.

    Or so the government thought.

Roughly 20 of the island’s species had been breeding when the virus was tested on them. Many of the eggs had trouble developing in the wild (temperatures were much higher in the Mesozoic than they are now), with the embryos within the eggs sill being rather simple organisms. When the virus was injected into the eggs, they didn’t die, but rather mutated as the virus intended them to. The serum was designed to give them all the mutated genes of a Japanese monster that was buried in a glacier back in 1956, and thus the dinosaurs grew much as that monster had grown, becoming roughly ten times their normal size. They gained many of its fantastic abilities, but only one of them had mutated enough to get the full package.

Tyrantis quickly established himself as the king of the island, defeating any and all challengers for his title from early infancy. He even defeated a male of his own species for the right to mate with the only female tyrannosaur on the island, forcing the male to leave the entire landmass.

This proved to be a bad move in the long run, as the defeated male eventually wound up in San Francisco. It made a big mess before, somewhat ironically, being shot by the army’s latest biological weapon: the Omega Virus G. Analysis of the comatose monster’s body revealed its origin, and soon Tyrantis’s island was discovered. The events that followed led Tyrantis into many adventures and battles with other kaiju across the planet. Yet no matter how many times the tyrannosaur fought, the outcome was always the same: victory for Tyrantis.

Sample Fight: King Kong nearly lost his grip when he heard the loud roar rip through the air. The sound was similar to one he had heard often on his island home: the challenging bellow of a therapod. The mighty ape looked down from his perch on the Empire State Building to see a green tyrannosaurid looking back up at him.

Tyrantis watched as the primate scrambled down the skyscraper towards him. Unlike Kong, he felt no instinctual hatred for the ape. At the same time, the mammal was food, and Tyrantis was very hungry. Had they met at another time, this confrontation may have been avoided. At the very least the jade giant would have tried to avoid it. But he was hungry, and Kong was there and full of delicious meat.

The gargantuan gorilla suddenly leapt off the building with only a few hundred feet to go (which isn’t that much to a kaiju). Tyrantis’s eyes widened as the mighty Kong landed on him, smashing the saurian onto the pavement. Kong wasted no time pummeling the tyrannosaur, but this was short lived. One punch to the reptile’s armored neck ended in Kong slitting his left wrist on one of the therapod’s spikes. The ape howled and grabbed his hand, giving Tyrantis enough time to throw the ape off himself.

Both kaiju stood back up and faced each other. Kong looked into Tyrantis’s eyes. This one wasn’t as dumb as the ones he had slain on his island home. This one was smart. This one was thinking, figuring things out. He could see it in the lizard’s eyes.

Tyrantis charged first with his jaws agape, presenting the fanged maw to Kong. The ape charged not soon after, beating his chest mid-run. Kong swung one of his great arms out a bit too soon, missing his target’s skull and, worse still, allowing Tyrantis to bite into his arm. The jade giant could have broken the limb if he bit hard enough, but instead used it to toss Kong into a nearby building. Tyrantis liked to play with his food.

Kong was not down long. Mere seconds after colliding with the building he was back on his feet and grabbing Tyrantis’s tail. One good turn deserved another as Kong chucked the reptile into another block. It was by no means a decisive blow: the green goliath quickly stood up and charged his simian foe. This time Kong’s punch connected with Tyrantis’s face. A sickening snap filled the air as Tyrantis fell down mid run, landing sprawled on the ground. Thinking his foe defeated, Kong beat his chest triumphantly.

It was quite a shock then when Tyrantis stood back up and bit into Kong’s right leg. His nervous system could heal, albeit slowly, and as such the snapping of his neck was not a mortal blow. Kong’s leg was not as resilient, and with one cloud crunch between Tyrantis’s vice-like jaws the ape’s femur shattered. Kong howled in agony and as Tyrantis let go to watch. That was a mistake. The mighty ape quickly grabbed Tyrantis and threw him again, hurtling the therapod blocks away.

As Tyrantis attempted to get up he saw Kong coming at him. Despite his newfound limp the ape was surprisingly fast. With a furious roar the primate leapt into the air. Tyrantis’s eyes widened as electricity crackled between the ape’s fingers. That was certainly unexpected. The mammoth monkey was going to slam both his fists into the fallen reptile, and if that electricity was more than a light show it was going to hurt even more than it looked. But the jade giant had a plan. He was lying on his back already with both legs facing the sky. As Kong began to fall to earth Tyrantis kicked upwards.
The blow connected and sent Kong reeling past Tyrantis. The primate landed only two hundred or so feet away from the therapod. Both kaiju stood up at the same time, but Kong stuck first. He clapped both hands around Tyrantis’s head and began to fry the reptile’s brain. When Tyrantis’s eyes rolled back into his skull Kong dropped him. The reptile was slumped on the ground, looking almost dead save for the movement of his lungs. Kong pried open the tyrannosaur’s jaws, preparing to do a finishing move that he was particularly fond of using against monstrous reptiles. He did not notice when Tyrantis’s eyes opened until fire streamed out of the dinosaur’s mouth.

Electricity crackled from Kong’s hands as the two monsters stared each other down. Kong went for the first blow, but it was Tyrantis’ attack that hit first. A jet of flame issued from the reptile’s mouth and scorched the ape’s right arm. Kong wailed and tried to put out the flame only to expose his other arm to a similar blast. Furiously the ape tried to grab Tyrantis’s head again, his hands so full of electricity that they looked like sparklers. The wily therapod leapt back, spitting a fireball as he jumped to further propel him backwards. He did not want to get caught in that electrocuting grip again.

Kong jumped after the dinosaur to close the distance between them. He raised his left fist and punched at the dinosaur. Tyrantis simply opened his mouth and bit down on the hand. Kong began to electrocute the dinosaur from the inside out only to see the reptile’s throat glow red. Fire poured out of Tyrantis’s mouth and into Kong’s hand. Seconds later the fist and half of Kong’s wrist exploded, sending bits of charred flesh and sizzling hair to the streets. On the plus side, the wound had been instantly cauterized, but it still wracked the mammal with ungodly amounts of pain.

Tyrantis quickly wrapped his jaws around Kong’s right arm while the ape moaned over its lost hand. The jade giant sunk his fangs into the gigantic limb, making Kong howl more. He was not done yet, though, as Tyrantis quickly kicked Kong with one leg while pulling on the ape’s arm. A vicious ripping sound filled the air as Tyrantis tore the arm off. The ape fell over partly in pain and partly because Tyrantis’s right leg was pushing into his chest.

Another sharp pain wracked Kong’s maimed body as Tyrantis bit into his throat. The last thing Kong felt was fire pouring into the wound and the small explosion that followed, decapitating the ape. With the Eight Wonder of the World dead, Tyrantis quickly got to the matter at hand: dinner.

    Kemlasulla

    Kaiju Type:
    Martian Fauna Mutation

Alignment: Neutral, but with good tendencies

Story Appearances: Tyrantis vs. the Martian Monsters, The Kaiju Chronicles of Mars

    Height: 140 meters

    Weight: 66,000 tons

    Length: 100 meters

    Powers/Abilities:
Semi-Sentient Intelligence- Kemlasulla has at least dolphin level intelligence, including self awareness and the ability to use and create tools.

Regeneration- Kemlasulla has the same healing factor as Tyrantis, and as such the same rules apply: his nervous system, while able to heal pretty fast, does not heal instantaneously like the rest of him, and he can be knocked out by enough blows to the head. Destroying 75% of his brain will kill him.

Improved Strength- Kemlasulla has strength unbefitting of his size, which is pretty normal as far as kaiju go. This power is very important, though, as it’s how he was able to bypass Venus’s higher gravity and eventually get accustomed to it (Venus has a very similar gravity to earth’s, so the change went unnoticed when Kemlasulla arrived on our little blue planet).

Unique Eye Structure Kemlasulla's eye, while hamped by a lack of depth perception, can move in a 180 degree arc around his head a la a cylon (which would be like you having an eye that can move from one of your cheeks to the other). With one sweeping movement he can take roughly 340 degrees of his environment.

Razor Jaws- Kemlasulla’s jaws (both of which are mobile) are developed for slashing foes, slicing through flesh and bone like a knife through butter.

Black Smoke- Kemlasulla can release a poisonous black gas from behind his “ear” armor plates. This poison will briefly attack an enemy’s nervous system, giving them a short and generally non-lethal epileptic seizure. The enemy will then be dazed for a few minutes before regaining complete control of their body.

Optic Beam- Kemlasulla’s eye can generate what has been called a blue sort of tractor beam. It can be used to push opponents away, drag them closer, or even tear them apart. It also looks very science fictiony.

Strengths and Weaknesses: Kemlasulla is something of a jack of all trades, being decent in both short and long range combat. His three legs and incredibly flexible pelvis (being able to rotate almost 360 degrees) allow him to move with swift, agile circular motions that can close the gap between him and all but the swiftest foes. His jaws can slice through most material, and what little they can’t slice can easily be torn apart by his eye laser. He also stores all of his vital organs in his heavily armored head (see anatomy picture), which, in addition to his regeneration, makes him very hard to kill.

That said, Kemlasulla’s top heavy body makes him very easy to knock over. At best a fall would wind him (since his lungs are stored in his head). At worst it could do enough damage to his brain, heart, and lungs to knock him out or even kill him (the latter occuring with a particularly nasty fall, like one from say, a cliff). His eye also presents a weak spot should it be torn out, as it is not rooted firmly in its socket (although it should be noted that both his movable jaws and his “eyelid” armor plate at the top of his head can move to protect the eye: this is one of his reflex movements akin to a human flinching when someone threatens to punch them in the face).

Kemlasulla’s jaws, while powerful, are not incredibly easy to weild. Prey often has to be brought to them as opposed to them for them to be used as weapons, which can be hard with fast foes. His legs and tentacles, while useful in grabbing and beating opponents, don’t have any strong slicing weapons. They aren’t powerful enough to deliver a quick killing blow either, having to pummel foes for a long time to do any lasting damage.

Kemlasulla’s two ranged weapons are also mixed bags. His black smoke isn’t meant to do any long term damage, being used to stun foes more than anything (although enough exposure to the substance in one sitting can cause serious brain damage). His eye beam, while certainly powerful, takes a lot of energy from Kemlasulla, particularly when he tries to use it in its fatal mode (i.e. tearing foes apart). Kemlasulla doesn’t like to rely on this weapon anyway, so it’s not a terribly large flaw.

Finally, Kemlasulla’s battle strategy is a double edged sword. While his “beat foes into submission without ever giving them a chance to breathe” works like a charm with lesser foes, an enemy that is able to break out of Kemlasulla’s grip can catch him off guard. Luckily for the Martian, Kemlasulla’s many fights with alien kaiju have made him well versed in changing his fighting style, allowing him to quickly turn the tide of battle back to his favor. Many of his battles switch from extremes, with Kemlasulla appearing to be the sure winner, then his foe looking just as likely to win, then Kemlasulla, then the foe, etc.

    Physical Appearance:
    http://tyrantisterror.deviantart.com/art/K...-Kaiju-77320291
    http://tyrantisterror.deviantart.com/art/T...asulla-80367682
And here’s some of his unique, alien anatomy for those who are interested:
    http://tyrantisterror.deviantart.com/art/S...iology-79747676

Personality: Kemlasulla is an unstable and unpredictable kaiju. Being a heavily seasoned war veteren, Kemlasulla has seen and slain things that are so alien they defy proper description. Living through endless years of violence against an intergalactic threat took its toll on the Martian’s sanity. Kemlasulla is somewhat bipolar, able to go from calm to violent at the drop of a hat. He relishes combat and will often provoke fights just for the fun of it, although most of these start out as playful in nature. Kemlasulla also adheres to something of a warrior code, respecting strong fighters and showing a sense of honor when it suits him.

Combat Style: Kemlasulla tries to overwhelm his opponent with blows, keeping them from being able to fight back as long as possible without relent. Since he has fought aliens from several different galaxies, and as such has learned that it pays to be creative and will often completely change his style of attack for no discernable reason. He While he has a powerful ranged weapon, Kemlasulla likes to play with his food, and generally uses the weapon in a nonlethal manner (he would rather relish a kill with his fangs and claws).

Origin: Kemlasulla, the Monster from Mars, is the result of the Martians' first use of an atomic weapon, which would later become their infamous heat ray machines. The creature ravaged their world and initially inspired much fear in the sentient Martians. Eventually it garnered respect and, even later, worship. It was then that the kaiju got its name: kemlas is the Martian word for beast, and ulla is their word for god or deity (although it isn't a personified concept, being more like a sentient force than some super being). They made great tripod transportation machines in its likeness and followed it throughout the land.

Then, while apes were still evolving into men on earth, an alien race from a far more distant waged war on Mars. They ravaged the aliens with their own army of kaiju and war machines. For thousands of years Kemlasulla fought valiantly against the invaders alongside the sentient Martians (and the few other Martian kaiju), keeping the intergalactic menace at bay. This alien race had collected various beasts throughout the universe, including one powerful golden-scaled monster. This kaiju was the one that defeated Kemlasulla, but not before coming close to death itself. Without the golden kaiju the aliens were easy targets, leaving Mars ravaged but victorious.

The planet was damaged beyond quick repair, however. It would not be suitable for the Martians to live on much longer, and so they decided they must migrate. Earth, despite its higher gravity, was their best bet, the second being Venus. During the late 1890’s they attempted to colonize the blue planet and were soundly defeated by the common cold (they had long since eliminated disease from their planet and as such had developed very poor immune systems). They then left for Venus, taking the corpse of Kemasulla with them.

But Kemlasulla was not truly dead. While it took him many decades to heal, the kaiju eventually rose from its grave (erected on Venus by the Martians). The Martian colonists rejoiced, as they had seen signs of the return of the aliens who had devastated their homeworld. This time, however, the invaders did not have their sights on Mars or Venus: they were heading for Earth. And so was Kemlasulla, beast god of Mars.

    Sample Fight:
Kemlasulla ignored the spectacle of flying saucers, tripedal war machines, and flying heat rays as he weaved around the Martian landscape. He had a greater foe to fight than the obnoxious opposing military. His foe was far more powerful than the tiny UFOs, and the grudge Kemlasulla held against him demanded vengeance. Violent, vicious, visceral vengeance.

A demonic cackle filled the air. Kemlasulla snorted gleefully. His prey had entered the battlefield. They had gone through this song and dance many times before: they entered the battle, found each other, and fought until they were both unable to move. Then the tiny creatures they were fighting for would take them back to their respective sides and heal them so they could fight again the next time.

Today, however, was different. Today Kemlasulla was going to make sure there was no “next time.” Today his foe would die definitively and the battles would cease.

A mass of flames appeared in the sky and contorted into the shape that had struck fear into millions of billions of life forms across the universe. Shimmering golden scales covered its draconic body. Six blood red eyes glinted like coals from his three snarling heads as it released another hellish cackle.
King Ghidorah, the King of Terror, had descended on Mars, ready to face its Beast God again.

The left-most head of the space dragon spat a single gravity ray at Kemlasulla. The Martian easily ducked it and, in a fluid motion that didn’t even break his stride, grabbed a boulder and chucked it at his enemy. It struck Ghidorah hard in the chest and sent the fiend hurtling toward the ground. Ghidorah tried to flip as he fell to regain his place in the air, but did it too late and ended up bashing all three of his heads against the ground before the rest of him followed suit.

When the dragon stood up Kemlasulla had closed the once significant gap between them. The Martian leapt into the air and kicked Ghidorah with all three of his gargantuan legs before landing on the titanic kaiju. He was preparing to deliver a nasty bite when the King of Terror hit him in the face with three gravity beams, sending the Martian monster head first to the ground.
Ghidorah did not let the Martian stand up. The dragon mercilessly kicked Kemlasulla while he was down, stopping just to let his foe gather enough strength to withstand the next set of blows. When that grew boring the dragon turned around and battered Kemlasulla with his twin tails. Ghidorah realized this was a mistake when he felt Kemlasulla’s teeth slice through them. All three heads of the dragon shrieked like the damned as golden blood spurted from his tail stumps. The shrieks raised in pitch as Ghidorah’s victim pounced on him from behind, pinning the colossal dragon to the ground.

Kemlasulla proceeded to beat the dragon as it had beaten him just seconds ago, although the Martian was far more ferocious. Ghidorah writhed and struggled beneath the three legged monster, screaming each time the one eyed alien’s legs and tentacles struck his golden hide. However, Ghidorah’s feet were firmly on the ground, giving him an advantage that Kemlasulla had not had earlier. Soon the dragon’s struggles were started interrupted the Martian’s onslaught. Kemlasulla could not let this happen and, deciding to take a risk, threw his massive head down towards the ground and, more specifically, Ghidorah’s back.
The dragon’s screams could shatter eardrums when he felt Kemlasulla’s razor sharp teeth rake against its body, creating massive gashes in the golden space demon’s body. While that was certainly a noteworthy blow, it had thrown Kemlasulla off balance and sent the creature sprawling on the ground. He quickly righted himself and grabbed one of Ghidorah’s wings. The dragon howled as its limb was shredded by the Martian’s jaws. Kemlasulla moved toward the other but was thrown back by a gravity beam.

King Ghidorah stood up and blasted Kemlasulla again. The Martian quickly ducked to the left before moving towards Ghidorah, kicking the dragon repeatedly with his massive legs. Kemlasulla’s “ear” plates flared open as black smoke billowed out from behind them. Ghidorah backed away only to feel the warm touch of Kemlasulla’s optic ray as it held the dragon in place. The dragon’s eyes bulged as the smoke filled its lungs and sent Ghidorah into a painful seizure. The King of Terror flailed around violently, beating himself against the rocky landscape. Kemlasulla struck Ghidorah with his optic ray again, this time using the beam to send Ghidorah hurtling back into the air. Kemlasulla chased after the dragon mere seconds after throwing him, unwilling to waste even a second of the battle.

All the other times the battle would have ended here. Kemlasulla was exhausted and knew that if he fought much longer he would falter grievously. If it were a normal day he would have returned to his home base, as would Ghidorah, and they would both lick their wounds. Not this time. This time it would end. At least one of them was going to die today, even if it meant Kemlasulla had to surpass his limits.

Kemlasulla smiled when Ghidorah was close enough to come back into view. The dragon had shaken off the seizure and was now trying to get back into the air without success. Kemlasulla began to chuck boulders at the dragon again with the same fluid motions he had used before. The difference this time was that instead of one boulder he was chucking several in succession. Most hit their target and within seconds Ghidorah was knocked to the ground. The beaten dragon squealed as the rocks continued to batter his form. The Martian wasn’t doing much better. He was more exhausted than he had ever been before. His limbs felt weak as if his joints were made of rubber, and soon he was beginning to stumble as he ran. His aim began to deteriorate, although that didn’t make much of a different to the already tired Ghidorah.

The Martian half pounced and half collapsed on the golden dragon, scratching and tearing at the space demon as they both lay writhing in a heap. The two fought desperately before Ghidorah finally managed to knock his oppressor off. Kemlasulla’s head smashed into a rock as the King of Terror began to limp away.

Rage filled the Martian as he watched his prey escape. This was supposed to end today! Summoning all his remaining energy, Kemlasulla released a powerful blast from his cyclopean eye. Ghidorah’s howls were short as the ray tore through his chest, making a hole so large it almost bisected the dragon. Ghidorah collapsed as gold blood painted the landscape around him.
Victory was in Kemlasulla’s hands, albeit at a terrible price. The Martian’s eye glazed over and rolled back into his skull. His jaws and “eyelid” plate closed over it as his body went limp. The Beast God looked dead.

However, neither kaiju had died that day. Ghidorah, with some help from his so called “masters,” would eventually recover from his wounds. Likewise, Kemlasulla’s “death” was nothing more than an extreme catatonic state. In several decades both kaiju would be back to full strength, but for now their battle was over.

Ok...we a slightly mixed bag here, I think. For the most part, both kaiju look fine and dandy. However, I see a couple of minor things. The first is their regeneration. Right now, you say it is slighly less than Godzilla's, yet able to regenerate limbs and organs nigh-instantaneously? Umm...Godzilla can't do that. Orga and Biollante, who's regeneration is far superior to Godzilla's can do that. So saying that your two kaiju have less regeneration than Godzilla, but actually have incredibly Godly regenerative power doesn't make sense. And it is also a little unfair from a tourney standpoint. Regeneration is fine, I think, if it is balanced. If it is Godly regen, make it your kaiju's best ability. Since your kaiju are also significant fighters, I think you should tone down the regeneration to the example level you gave: slightly less than Godzilla. They would be able to heal minor and moderate injuries very quickly, and major wounds in relatively little time. But it wouldn't be ridiculous.

Now, the second thing is Kemlaslulla. Overall he looks fine, but his eye beam bugs me. Having so many abilities is ok, but having the ability to tear an enemy apart just seems a bit...cheap. Even if it uses a lot of energy, or he "doesn't like to rely on it", the fact that he's reasonably intelligent and that he has, it just seems like an insta-win card. Maybe tone it down a bit from tearing foes apart to something less instantly fatal but still damaging.

Sorry for backseat modding, but this just so happens to be a pet peeve of mine.

I see absolutely no reason as to why Godzilla could not grow back a severed limb. His regen is clearly far more advanced than that of any existing creature due to the speed at which it occurs.

Starfish can regenerate limbs. Insects can regenerate limbs. Salamanders can regenerate limbs. Limbs are easy to regenerate for these creatures, and their regen is inforior to Godzilla's. Godzilla was able to regenerate an EYE; that is far more impressive than growing back an arm. Internal organs are much more delicate and difficult to regenerate than a simple extremity such as a limb.

The only reason we've never seen Godzilla grow a new limb is because he's never been hit with an attack powerful enough to de-leg him. If he *were* to lose one there's no doubt in my mind that it'd grow back just as quickly as any flesh wound he's recieved.

When did he regen an eye? I don't remember that

Either way, the assertion that Tyrantis' regen is superior to Godzilla's is false. Godzilla recovered within a few minutes of being stabbed repeatedly in the head by Gigan; such punishment would kill Tyrantis, as stated in his bio.

I have no doubt that Godzilla could potentially regenerate a limb, and no doubt an organ, but the fact of the matter is Tyrantis and Kemslulla have superior regeneration to Godzilla according to their description. Examples: The first being their nervous system. While theirs regenerates more slowly, but still fairly quickly, Godzilla's is much more susceptible to injury, as seen in Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (90's). When his large nerve cluster (called a second brain) in the movie was destroyed, he all but died, and the dying Fire Rodan had to give up the last of his energy to save him. Orga and Biollante, both of which are commonly accepted to have superior regeneration to Godzilla himself, are capable of regenerating such major injuries at the speed to which TT describes. Biollante had much of her back blown away, and it healed almost instantly, demonstrating what is possibly the most terrifyingly efficient regeneration in the Toho universe. Orga had the right side of his body blown away, and it grew back in a matter of seconds, again demonstrating truly awe-inspiring regeneration.

Godzilla has healed from significant injury, but nothing that severe. He has had puncture wounds and missile wounds galore. He had his hand run through in Godzilla vs. Biollante. And possibly his most impressive display of regeneration was when Destroyah cut a massive slash into him and it healed up before she could finish standing. But Godzilla has not shown anything like Biollante or Orga. In fact, Godzilla has shown that enough damage can scar him, such as the Absolute Zero cannon at the end of of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.

So I stand by what I said. While Godzilla has impressive regenerating abilities, which no one is arguing against, and probably could regenerate limbs or organs, which no one is arguing against, saying that having slightly slower and less efficient regenerative abilities is enough to regenerate complex organs and entire limbs "nigh-instantaneously" is too much. And that is really the point of all this. I don't care whether or not Godzilla could regrow his body if all that was left was his eyeball, a kaiju that has significant fighting capability is not going to have such powerful regeneration. It is just too much. If you have regeneration that good, it should be by far and above you kaiju's best ability, and you shouldn't have very many others. And even then, regenerating entire limbs and organs instantaneously is a bit much.

And that's not true either, it just means Godzilla has a tougher brain/skull than Tyrantis. Regeneration is a complete package, you simply pointed out one single weak point in Tyrantis' figurative armor.

Not to jump into the armchair modding, but someone is WRONG on the internet, and I just can't allow that.

First and foremost, I'd compare Ty's regen to GxM Godzilla's. Healing up before Megs' stinger even left the wound. And if memory served, he got his buttocks kicked.

Secondly, you all are misinterpreting what regeneration even is.
Tyrantis isn't going to have his entire leg ripped off from toe to thigh, then have it grow back instantly. And he's not going to be able to avoid being wittled down if he can't dispatch his opponent.

Regeneration requires mass and energy. In order to replenish the lost mass, Ty would have to kick his metabolism into overdrive, rendering his stomach empty and his fat reserves nonexistant. This puts him right in place for hunger fatigue to set in.

There's also blood loss to consider. Regen will help stifle blood loss, but it won't completely negate it. If there's not enough blood to fill the regenerated tissue, he's gonna be drowsy.

Regeneration will help keep you alive, but it's no different from energy shields or tough armor. It has weaknesses. VERY exploitable weaknesses.
All this regeneration offers is an edge in endurance. Nothing more.

Now, some of you may argue that these are daikaiju, which don't follow the laws of biology. However, I'm familiar with Ty's work. His monsters TRY to fit within the laws of reality as best as they can, while still being stylish. If such a weakness is logical, I'm certain that it'll be addressed.

As for Kemlasulla's beam, trust me, it's not liable to pull a monster apart on the first shot. It's just capable of exerting force. It's no different from an extra limb. Pulling them apart is simply something he can attempt after sufficient weakening.

While in the real world I'd agree with you, please tell me one instance where a kaiju's regeneration just stopped because they ran out of fat reserves? I'm having trouble thinking of any.

As for the beam and the limitations on the regeneration, right now he doesn't have them because they aren't detailed. The laws of nature and real life don't necessarily apply, otherwise none of these things would be able to do things like stand up, move, shoot projectile weapons, etc. So while it's great that you're thinking on more realistic terms, I'm looking at what the creator has written down, nothing more nothing less. If he wants to add details like you're describing to limit his own things and in effect tone them down, that's great.

Ok. In his fully fleshed out and self-contained stories that may be true. Now if he wants to bring that to the FFKT he put that in. I still think he should tone down the regen and the beam, though. Now if he feels differently he can speak for himself, I'm sure.

Now please stop cluttering his kaiju topic. They're really meant for the creator's of the kaiju and the overseers of the tourney to go through the approval process, not for people to argue about what really amounts trivial drivel. If you have something you'd like to share, there's a FFKT general discussion topic, and I would kindly direct you there for all future discussion of this sort.

Maybe tone it down a bit from tearing foes apart to something less instantly fatal but still damaging.

    Firstly, my regen:

Heisei Godzilla and G2k both had that same regen power. In both Godzilla vs. Biollante and Godzilla 2000 it was stated that their regeneration, in addition to their armored scales, was what allowed them to survive so many missle bombardments from tanks, jets, etc. Heisei Godzilla, in addition, was only killed when A. his secondary brain was destroyed (which really just paralyzed him, if you think about it, as Rodan was able to heal his brain with radiation, which means some part of him must have still been alive to be able to respond to said radiation and heal), or B. his body melted down. Note that in the bio it states that when Tyrantis's brain is damaged, heavily or no, it will kill him as well.

I view Godzilla's (and Tyrantis's) regen as very similar to Wolverine's from X-men (well, old school X men, anyway. They kinda exaggerate it nowadays, but that's a rant for another day). Wolverine is able to heal extreme blows in roughly a few seconds. An arm takes, oh, maybe 15 seconds to grow. Wolverine has still gotten his buttocks kicked several times and lost fights. Same with Godzilla. While regen was never stated as one of Showa Godzilla's powers, he probaby had it as well: in the 74 Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla he survived numerous missle strikes that blew chunks out of his hide. In a few seconds the areas that had been blown up had stopped bleeding. They were blood smeared, sure, but they were not bleeding anymore.

The fact that Kiryu's absolute zero canon scarred Godzilla is actually a testament to Godzilla's regenerative power. That canon was designed to kill Godzilla. It was practically proved to do it. Instead it just left him with a huge gaping chest wound that would kill a normal animal. To survive that Godzilla would have had to both heal the wound quickly as well as all the cells that were dying from the lack of blood from the wound. That means his regen power was practically regenerating his entire body in addition to the wound. That's a hell of a healing power if you think about it.

Also, you're viewing death as the only means for a kaiju to lose. Exhaustion to the point of passing out is equally valid, as the kaiju would be unable to battle. If you noticed, I stated that was a distinct possibility in the bio. Tyrantis easily over exherts himself (he fights like a brawler when adult t.rexes were probably built to be ambush hunters), and his head is a large target he often throws into battle. Exhausting him or beating him unconconscious isn't extremely hard for any competent kaiju.

His regeneration would actually exploit this weakness, as Gregole aptly noted. Massive damage to his body would instantly drain energy used for fighting away from him to heal his body. If an opponent dealt enough tissue damage he could very quickly make Tyrantis pass out from overexhaustion. It's nonfatal, but it sure as hell is a loss.

    Next, Kemlasulla's ray.

The "tearing a foe apart" aspect of Kemmy's ray is also similar to a power exherted by Godzilla. In G2K Godzilla's ray did just that to Orga at the end (albeit from the inside of him) while for the majority of the film it just did concussive damage. Kemmy's ray is a finisher and only a finisher. He can't use it at the start of the fight as it would leave him helpless should his foe survive (and a foe needs significant battering for it to be fatal). Even saving to the end is dangerous as it renders Kemmy comatose (and it should be noted that said coma lasted over a century). However, if it's that much of a deal, I will leave just the concussive aspect of the ray and remove the finisher move.

Ok, the ray is fine if it's only a finisher. As for the regeneration...for the love of pete I did not want this to become a huge argument over Godzilla's regenerative power. Yes it is significant, no one is arguing against that. I still disagree that it is as powerful as some of you seem to think, if only for a lack of evidence, but I really don't care to argue on the subject. Regeneration is well and good. Powerful regeneration is well and good. But I still believe that extremely potent regeneration is a little bit too much when combined with a kaiju with extremely significant combat abilities, and no truly hindering weaknesses. Yes, he has weaknesses, I get that. But they're all tacked onto some "and" or "but" statement that takes away some of the potency of what makes them a weakness. So, I still feel like the current level of regen is a bit much. Now, I think it would be fair to get a second or third opinion on it before making any changes, but that's my stance on the matter and I have yet to be convinced otherwise.

And I never said or implied that death was the only way to end a fight. But regeneration makes most forms of external knockout (as in anything but your kaiju over exhausting itself) more difficult.

Not to use an inflamatory phrase, but are we reading the same profile? I heavily underlined Tyrantis's weaknesses in both the profile and my second post.

Although I will admit I said he rarely gets exhausted to the point of passing out. I'm going to allow the ommission of the "rarely." Other than that, both the strengths and weaknesses section (which I think is pretty well detailed), the sample fight, and my last post all highlight some significant flaws in Ty.

    For the sake of redundancy:

Tyrantis's brain is a huge disadvantage. He can be knocked out just as easily as any other creature. While his regen allows him to repair damaged nerve cells (allowing him to recover from brain damage unlike normal animals), it does not make him immune to blunt trauma. The fact that his head is his main weapon means he is constantly putting his weak spot in danger. It'd be like Achille's fighting solely with his heel for 95% of a battle (not that Ty's head is his only weakspot, mind you).

As an incredibly active fighter built for a rather inactive style of hunting he tires out very easily. Tyrantis is smart enough to conserve his strength, but as fast enough opponent could easily confuse him long enough for him to overexhert himself.

Several mortal blows, such as, say, three successfil removals of a limb (which was the main example that caused this fuss) would easily be enough to knock him out. And again, for redundancy, HE KNOCKS OUT AND EXHAUSTS LIKE A NORMAL T.REX. THE KIND OF OVER-EXHERTION THAT WOULD PUT ANY NORMAL ANIMAL TO SLEEP WOULD STILL WORK ON TYRANTIS.

His ranged attack is weak at long range. Burns are painful, but they have to be extreme if they're to do any lasting damage. Tyrantis's fire is only strong in close range, or when he's on the verge of death (the later case is more likely to kill him than his opponent, anyway).

His jaws, while definitely powerful, need to get a good grip to exhert bone crushing force. Notice that in the sample fight he had to think ahead of time before being able to use it effectively. They also put his weakspot right in the middle of the battle (as I've now stated a billion times).

In essence, the purpose of Tyrantis's regen is to keep him alive, not fighting. That's how it worked for Godzilla, too. It prevents one hit kills on the character, which I think is fair, but it doesn't prevent death. Heisei Godzilla was the same damn way, and he still lost quite a few matches.

When I read your weaknesses, they look something like this:

His brain can be damaged, BUT his skull is armored and he has regeneration.

His fire breath can damage him, BUT he rarely uses it. And if it is exploited as a weakness Tyrantis becomes *very dangerous* as result.

Tyrantis can be exhausted after long difficult battles.

Tyrantis is weak against smaller, faster opponents.

So, really, only the latter two don't have conditions on them. And the last one is situational, as in it depends on what foe you're fighting. And the second to last one means you have to have a foe that can actually survive or drag out the fight for that long without a death or tko. So, I'm not trying to be too picky or mean spirited or anything. it's just that when I see your kaiju, it doesn't look like he has any significant weaknesses. Now, what he has is ok, but I think something about him should be toned down a little.

The regeneration is my first choice: limit his endurance and staying power. I'm not asking for you you to kill it. Just reduce it a little bit. Nigh-instantaneous regeneration of major wounds just seems like a bit much on top of all his other advantages to me. I mean, he has great melee abilities, great physical strength, he's very intelligent for a kaiju, he's durable, he's got a fairly good projectile (come on, anything, ANYTHING that can bathe a half mile radius in flame is extremely powerful, no matter what conditions it has to meet to do it). Tyrantis is a very strong contender. I just think that slightly reducing one of his greater aspects would make for a more tournament balanced fighter.

EDIT (sorry, this posted before I was done and my internet died)

However, all of that being said, this is my final say on the matter: While I believe that the regeneration should be mildly toned down, I think a second opinion should be had. I will go along with this second vote, whatever it is. If they agree with you that Tyrantis is fine as is, so be it, I will back off gracefully and Tyrantis can be approved. However, if they should agree with my point of view, I think you should probably tone it down. Though, I still say it doesn't need to be a huge adjustment, just a minor change for the sake of balance.

Hmm, looking at the profile I kinda see your point in the strengths and weaknesses section. Of course, I'm still going to argue that my sample fight and responding posts were damn clear on them anyway, but meh.

I'll lessen the regeneration of vitals to a few minutes instead of instantly if it helps. I think that's fair enough, as it would give Tyrantis enough time to survive the wounds. I don't want to cut it any further, as it's really and important aspect of the character. I'll also edit the strengths and weaknesses section so it's a little more clear and doesn't give an unbalanced feel that leads to inflamatory comments.

I apologise if this got a little flame wars-y.
