See, now this is the reason felt two wasn't enough. Take note, most of the names shown are up there twice, meaning nearly everyone who's submitting has already had both monsters approved.
If you still don't wanna change it, that's fine with me. I'm perfectly content to sit here and be right, regardless of whether or not anyone acknowledges it. XP

I'd also like to point out that our spinoff has 19 approved monsters and several more awaiting completion. Note that we also have a limit of four monsters.

On a completely unrelated note: it's spelled "Kemlasulla".

Now now bio. I feel that we can make the 32 kaiju mark, we just need a few more people participating. We have time still. ;)

Thanks for the spelling correction btw lol.

Bio, this is not a thread to be advertising your forum. If you wanted to do that, then I would suggest doing so in the General section of the forum, as I am sure you have already mentioned it there, right? Either way, this isn't the place and I as well as the staff would appreciate it if it was done elsewhere.

For the love of the gods, I was making a POINT.

Our forum has fewer members, but more monsters. Why? Because we have a higher limit.
THAT was the goddamn bleeding POINT.

No, I think the point is that you are trying to compare both tournaments constantly. You guys do your tournament, we'll do ours. End of conversation, be happy.

Just so you know, you can appreviate my name as LOMI; It's both easier to say and looks better than Lordofmi.

No, Donny, the point I was trying to make was that a greater monster limit means more monsters. I know that's the point I was trying to make because........ I'm the one who made it.

But since you guys have been begging to be uncivil, I'm just gonna be blunt: You will never reach your goal of thirty monsters unless you boost the limit.

If you all think I'm just trying to find an excuse to bring more in, let me make it clear right now that I don't give a crap. Our spinoff is shaping up much better. Whether this one goes nicely or blows up before it takes off is irrelevant to me.
The point is, you all need to either boost the limit or deal with a smaller number than you were hoping for.

Bio, I would ask that you at least be polite if you're going to post things like that. I'm happy your guys' tournament is going so well, really, I am. I don't see why you're so eager to tell us that it's going really well, but thanks for letting us know.

As for the kaiju number thing. Yes, we may end up with fewer than the 32 kaiju we were hoping for, it's true. I will acknowledge it as a distinct possibility because I'm a realist in most situations. However, that brings up the reason why we aren't going to increase the number of kaiju participating, especially not to three. With two kaiju per person, we know without a doubt, that we will have an even number of kaiju participating, regardless of the number of contestants. That makes things easier on us. With three, things get messy fast and increasing it to four this late in the process would be a huge hassle.

Considering that most of the people working on the FFKT here are kind of new at it, I'd say we're doing alright. True, it's not running quite as smoothly as it could have with experienced people, but that's not exactly our fault, is it? So, if you would like to politely and constructively give suggestions, please feel free to in the FFKT general discussion forum. Make your own topic in fact and post everything that's on your mind. I'm sure we'll read it, and you'll probably get responses too, although might I quote the saying "you'll get more flies with honey than with vinegar".

Otherwise, please stop making the running of this tournament any harder for the people trying to do it. There are provided outlets for you to express your concerns and ideas, and you can do it on your own terms there, so please do. But please stop butting in to other places where your comments are really unnecessary and out of place.

    People bitched at me.

I stopped feeling obligated to be polite.

You want me to be polite, you can all stop bitching at me whenever I TRY to be constructive.

But if you want to be like that, then play innocent, fine by me. I don't really care how this whole thing goes anyway.

I would ask that you stop swearing, it's quite unnecessary. And I didn't see anyone get uncivil with you. They simply asked you to stop mentioning the other FFKT, and you took it personally. Now, if you want to overreact to everyone's suggestions and comments, that's your prerogative. It's a waste of anger and energy, but it's your choice.

The thing is, you are not terribly constructive with your comments, usually. You always sound angry and frustrated, like you are always right and everyone you are talking to who has a different opinion or who you think is wrong is a complete idiot. That's a really bad way of doing things, especially when the people you are constantly getting into arguments with are running something and you aren't. True, it's just a forum, and this is just a tournament between fan created monsters, but it's still not a great way of doing things. I believe it was you who posted, in the random facts thread, "I am always right" and "I refuse to allow other people to be WRONG". Let me take this opportunity to say that, despite the level of joking in those statements (for the love of all that is good, I hope there was some level of joking), that is a really, really bad way of operating.

So please, either do what you said in your last post and stop caring, and demonstrate that by not posting. Or be civil. Stop swearing. Stop being short tempered and rude. Stop trying to get the rules changed. In essence, stop trying to run things. Now, if you can be polite, respond. Otherwise, don't.

Here's the thing: I AM always angry and frustrated. And to be frank, it's partly BECAUSE of the fact that so far most of the staff here has started snapping at me when I voice my opinion on a matter.

I tell you the idea of a wingspan limit is absurd and unnecessary, you get defensive and tell me to shut it.

I make a slight mistake regarding the rules, Nidds throws a hissy fit.

I try to point out how increasing the monster limit is a good idea - and use some freaking EVIDENCE to back up my point - someone snaps at me for "advertising my project".
I've got news for you - pointing out the spinoff FFKT is the *eff*ing POINT of the statement I was making! It's a bloody example of my logic in ACTION.

I think I'm entitled to be somewhat cranky with you people right now. You immediately get as uncivil as you possibly can whenever I try to voice my opinion, then throw a tantrum when I get annoyed and turn off "polite mode".

Well, quite frankly I don't believe you have a polite mode. Not in the FFKT forum at least. As you said, when you started about the wingspan, you immediately jumped on it as being absurd and unnecessary, you didn't try to politely and calmly point out that you disagreed with it. Yet, we still modified the rules solely because of your vastly overpowered monster with the huge wingspan because you brought it up.

Then you brought up the third kaiju thing. And instead of just suggesting it and waiting for the people in charge of the tourney to make a decision and an annoucement, you up and posted a third kaiju. And then you got defensive about it. When I "threw a hissy fit" I posted my post that way on purpose so that you would have absolutely no grounds on which to argue, as you have a habit of doing. But you found a way to make a big deal out of it anyways instead of taking it as a mildly humorous post explaining the judges and administrators' decision.

And now you're getting pretty upset over people telling you not to compare the two tournaments, which I honestly don't understand. I don't see why you can't understand our point of view. Yes, your tournament is going well. That's great. But we're kind of trying to make sure our own tournament goes as well as we can make it, and we don't need to be reminded that the experienced people that ran it previously all decided to haul anchor and go do their own thing; we have enough to do without that, thank you very much.

So, when you are being polite, constructive comments are appreciated. But getting in a huff and immediately becoming frustrated at all of the administration is just going to get them ticked at you. There's a reason that we just try to immediately shut you up whenever you try to say something, and it's because so far, every time you've started it's ended up getting kind of ugly, as it has in this instance. So, if you would like to prove us wrong, STOP TURNING OFF YOUR POLITE MODE. Stay polite and calm no matter what you think, and people will listen to you. You have to consider your audience. We don't want to hear about your tournament, so don't bring it up. Don't mention how absurd our rules or ideas are either. If you disagree about something, rephrase what you really think into something that doesn't make us want to ban you or send a hitman. So, in short, play nice.

As soon as I read that, it became immediately apparent that I was right. You're jumping up and hissing the moment someone tries to offer any sort of input.

    1. "your vastly overpowered monster".
If memory serves, you didn't have a problem with her. At least not until I voice my thoughts on the wingspan rule.

    2. Just because I don't apologize twice a sentence for DARING to think differently doesn't mean I was being impolite. Obviously we have two very different definitions of "polite".

I think it's safe to say that that's exactly how it DIDN'T happen.

I was unaware of the new limit. I posted a monster BEFORE someone told me that it was different.

Secondly, that "hissy fit" was exactly that: a hissy fit. You spoke down your nose at me and acted as though I would somehow be unwilling to comply if you had chosen to keep the rule as it was. You were obviously patronizing me and I refused to allow you to do that.
If you'll note, I DID comply as soon as I found out you weren't changing the rule.

Am I talking to myself here?

Bringing up the spinoff is THE friggin' POINT.

Ok, let me break this down for you.

    Your tournament has more players.

Your tournament has a limit of two monsters.

    Our tournament has fewer players.

Our tournament has a limit of four monsters.

We both have the same goal of roughly 30 or so monsters.

We're much closer to that goal. IE: We have more monsters.

If you boosted the limit, logic says you would have more monsters.

I am NOT advertising our spinoff. If you want my complete honesty, I loathe the thought of any of you participating in it.

But it's a relevant point. Now you can either accept that I was trying to offer a helpful suggestion, or you can continue to act like a little kid about this whole thing.

Because I've got news for you. I may be cocky, arrogant, convinced of my own intellect, cynical, snarky and have an ego that could engulf Jupiter, but at least I'm willing to acknowledge when I make a mistake, unlike SOME of us.

I've tried pointing things out in a civil manner. I was met with aggression. And going by what I've read so far, I'm confident that whether I try again to be polite or not, I'm STILL going to be met with aggression.

Until I see that I WON'T be met with aggression, there's no way I'm going to just up and submit to that sort of garbage.

The thing is, I'm not meeting you with aggression. I'm being fairly calm, and considering how rude you're being, I'd say that's pretty good.

And well, really I don't see the point in arguing with you anymore. You quite obviously cannot calm down enough to have a civil discussion about the tournament, and feel that everything anyone says is a personal attack. Well, that's too bad.

But I will respond to a couple of points.

First, I did and still do think Rygama is overpowered. Vastly. However, I posted in the private forum first and asked the other judges what they thought. They felt she was ok, being a purely physical kaiju, so I let the subject drop. If it were up to me, she'd be one fifth of her current strength and wouldn't be able to burn diamonds with her heat generating ability. So yes, I do have a problem with and I always did, but I'm reasonable despite the fact that you can't get it through your ego.

Second, I thoroughly disagree with you about he degree of success regarding the two tournaments. Considering ours has inexperienced judges, no real prizes, and a two monster limit, the number of people we have participating is a little remarkable. So I would call our tournament at least as successful as yours, and possibly more successful given that we have more members participating. Having fewer kaiju means very little since we have a lower entry number per person.

Also, you keep telling us that you're trying to be helpful by telling us to increase the number of kaiju per person. We already said we wouldn't, so thus you are not being helpful. Three would be a nightmare to organize a tournament around, and adding any more regardless of how many would add dramatically to the start up time of the tournament and be a big hassle. Did we learn from this experience? Yes. Will we change it for next year? Maybe, I honestly don't know yet as this tournament isn't over.

Third, I honestly don't believe you didn't know the two kaiju rule. Why? Well first it was in bold red numbers. Second, when you first responded you said that EM was considering changing it. Why mention a change for a rule you didn't know about? Regardless, it wasn't a hissy fit, and as the other admins can tell you I posted, again in the private forum, about the post I made in your topic. It was meant to be humorous, playing off of the fact that you always manage to find something to argue about, so I went to the extreme to ensure that you couldn't argue with that announcement.

And lastly: Bio, only you can see that you are not met by aggression. Honestly, how do you expect to be met with anything else considering the bile that you post? You're rude, frustrating, egotistical, stubborn, and argumentative. Not exactly a list of traits that's going to be met with warm fuzziness, even if you have brilliant ideas. So if you want people to take what you have to say seriously, be nice about it. You'll notice that the wingspan thing, the only thing you had any degree of success on, was the thing you were the least obnoxious about. Gee, what a concept.

Now, I'm done arguing with you. It's a waste of my time and board space. You can respond to this post if you like, but I don't care if you cuss me out, insult my kaiju, call my judging crappy, advertise your FFKT, or draft a new constitution, I'm not responding. Have a nice day.

Would both of you stop it! You're both yelling and cussing and being morons at each other, and it's getting you two NOWHERE. All it's doing is making the both of you look like idiots. Both of you are over-exaggerating what the other one said or did: Niddhogg, Bio brought all of these points out calmly at first and when he was yelled at, he yelled back, as I'd probably do to; Bio, quit yelling and griping back at him, you're only making it worse. Yes, Bio compared the tournaments (TO PROVE A POINT), so what? Yes, Niddhogg is counter-pointing everything you're saying, SO WHAT?

MY point is hopefully simple enough that you two can grasp it: stop yelling, cussing and all around acting stupid at each other, or I'll go get one of the other admins and let them stop it!
Frodo: "I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had ever happened."

Okay....first of all guys, lets CHILL out.

    Now then....

Bio, I understand where you are coming from, and I understand that you are frustrated. I have no problem with you voicing your opinion and making suggestions it is just the way that you do so that really bugs everybody. Make a suggestion....don't throw it in people's faces and be all smug about it. If you want things done in your favor, that is not going to help you at all. I realize that today you are cranky and angry ((which is what you've told me once)), but you shouldn't let that get the best of you causing it to effect other people.

Seriously, can this not be one FFKT that does not involve petty bickering? I'm really tired of dealing with this same thing every single year. If we get along, it'd work so much more smoothly.

And I am gratified that BSDQ's tournament is going well so far, and I don't mind if you even mention it. However, the way you mention it directly makes other people's hard work appear inferior. The question that crossed my mind is that did you join this tournament to cause problems and try to mess things up? I'm going to guess not, but don't make it appear that way, ok?

If there is one thing I ask of all of you...it is to please allow this tournament to run smoothly without arguing and fighting. That is all I ask. It shouldn't be that much to offer.

No more arguing, for future reference----if there's another fight like this all involved will be suspended.

Lets all calm down, take a breath. Life is too short for this stuff.

EM, did you miss the fact that I said you should abbreviate my name to LOMI?
Frodo: "I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had ever happened."
Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All you have to decide, is what to do with the time that is given to you."

I'm in the same boat EM. My connection speed's slower than continental drift. It gets overtaken by stationary objects.
