All 28 movies from the iconic Godzilla series have been painstakingly restored for the first time in high definition (HD). The new HD telecines have undergone serious restoration, including color and contract correction, and will air in HD for the first time on the Japanese Movie Speciality Channel (Nihon Eiga Senmon Channeru) in Japan throughout October to December this year, with new Godzilla-related programming airing in the months prior. The restoration of the films was part of the "G PROJECT", a collaboration between Toho and the Japanese Movie Speciality Channel.

Woah! This is pretty cool. Hopefully TOHO releases all 28 films in Blu-Ray... they should have done that instead of releasing all 28 films in DVD box-sets again.

If they play the films in Hi-Def, wouldn't the wire and blue screens, etc, be more obvious?

^Likely. It happened with Sony's release of GXM...

I'm really excited about this! I just wish there were some way I could see/record them... *sigh* Why don't I live in Japan or get Japanese TV? Why?
