YAY! I finally got to watch the first episode of Ultraman Nexus! It is a really awesome series (so far). I love it! The characters are believable, the soundtrack is amazing ((hell I already had part of it)) and the action is nice. I definitely recommend it, you can find the first ep. in full on youtube! :)

    LOL.

I'm fairly sure you and I are the only two on this board who's seen this series. It is quite sad, actually.

I want to buy the two volumes on DVD now, and the soundtracks! *laughs*

The thing is, I really think the vast majority of Godzilla fans would enjoy NEXUS, even if they've never been interested in Ultraman before. I figure a lot of people still have some odd "Power Rangers" mentality when it comes to Ultraman.

I feel bad for them, because they don't know what they're missing! Especially at a time when there are really no new kaiju movies on the horizon, and this series is already here waiting for them.

I feel I should mention the main writer and series organizer for NEXUS was Keiichi Hasegawa, who co-wrote GODZILLA: GMK. The lead special effects director was also Yuichi Kikuchi, who was the FX director on GODZILLA X MECHAGODZILLA. What's not to like there?! :D

Oh wow! I didn't know that! That is so awesome. I'll go around and start promoting Ultraman Nexus, it needs to be watched by people because it was amazing.

I'm going to get my mom to watch it. She used to be an Ultraman fan back in the 60s and she has already seen "The Next".

I think I may get the soundtracks before I get the actual DVDs....I am an avid fan of musical scores and this series has a very unique one.

    I'm proof of that.

I'm too poor to buy the series, and I'd rather watch it on my 37" LCD TV than the internet... ;)

    OH!

Another thing I love about this series is that it brought in a character from the movie "Ultraman: The Next", which really tied the series and the movie together well! =]

You can download the series online, I think. If the site is still there, that's where I got them.

Or I have a friend who found a site where you can watch movies and shows online completely free...perhaps she'll get me a link.

But owning them is much better in my opinion. However, I download albums to "test" artists and then buy the albums if I like them, so I guess a "sneak the-hell-with-it-I'll-watch-it-all" wouldn't hurt. :darklord:

Ultraman Nexus is one of my favorite Tokusatsu Shows of all time. I loved its serious nature and great story that was presented. The kaiju and Nexus looks really awesome as well. My favorite though has to be Mizorogi/Dark Mephisto. He so so twisted mentally that you even felt bad for him towards the end. Even though he manipulated so many people and killed so many lives, that when his innocence is shown, you can't help but feel for the guy. And Dark Mephisto has to be my all time favorite Dark Ultra, not just for the name, but he just rocked when on screen!
