When it comes to fan made MVs and tributes, we all come up with songs that would fit well with any given film. Here in this topic, post the songs that you would like to hear in future Godzilla films or else films that are already existing within the Millennium era. Please provide explanations for your choices, and, if possible, links to listen to the music. Please keep content appropriate.

    Have fun! ^_^

I would like to see Metal Mothra being played while Mothra slaughters Godzilla and Gamera lolz...

In all reality, I would like to here some metal songs be added into a Goji film. Though nothing above Dio-era Sabbath. Like for example, I would love to have "Computer God" being played when something like a half organic half cybernetic Legion destroys Norad, Washington DC, and roars into the sun set as thousands of Symbiotic Legion walk on top of a sea of blodd stained skeletons.

^Even if it isn't Mothra slaughtering them it'd be a good song to feature during one of her battle scenes. lol

    Good topic, Kuroneko! :)

    Thanks! ^_^

The symphonic metal Mothra song would be really neat to listen to in an actual Mothra film, even with or without Godzilla. During a fight scene would be pretty interesting as well. That's a very good song - I hope Toho picks it up.

You do have a good idea though, G2K. I wonder what it would be like having Gamera and Mothra together in a film?

And the idea of a sort of cyborg Legion army sounds really, really cool. That would be an eerie sort of thing, but effective. The truly terrifying about the Symbiotic Legion is that they are small, and could be an even bigger fright than the Legion Queen. When you're under siege from something large like Godzilla, the fear is generated by the fact that casualties occur at random, and that one's life is affected the same as others. True psychological fear is induced when there is truly something after you.

I am also in agreement that eventually Godzilla films should have a sort of metal theme in them. A lot of people are in agreement that future Godzilla films ought to be darker, similar to what we saw in the original film. I think a good song, especially if it were to follow along the lines of something with Biollante and/or Mechagodzilla/Kiryu, would probably be Synthetic Generation by the Deathstars.

I'm not a fan of the band - I didn't even know it existed until I found this on accident, and, if utilized in a proper film, I think it could be pulled off. Here's the clip I stumbled on:

    Keep the ideas flowing!

Thanks Kuroneko. The idea actualy came from some guys MV for COmputer God with clips from the Animatrix. I started develpoing the idea for a film which utilizes the fan film G4:T and the begining of G:TB. It gets complicated with Two gameras and an illegal Gamera clone, two headed Gyaos, and an Iraqi-build half-cyborg/half organic Legion. I am still developing it, but it is a story which is to continue the Darkness which is G3, as well as cover themes of artifical life, cloning, terrorism, and what is most important in life. Plus, after the credits, Gamera and the Gyaos are still fighting with humanity extinct.

Whoa. 0_0 that sounds like a lot of work, but it sure sounds interesting!

I haven't seen G4. Is there a way I can watch it online? If not, could you please tell about it?

    G4 is basicaly this:

Gamera tries to tackle the Gyaos in the sky, but after a while acouple of Gyaos beam Gamera down. Meanwhile, the Earth's mana reanimates one of the Gamera skeletons to kick buttocks. Meanwhile, a fourth breed of Gyaos called the albino Gyaos is the leader of the pack and battles Gamera. Gamera kills the albino Gyaos and creates a giant crater in Tokyo. Out of the crater comes tens of thousands of Gyaos eggs. The end.

No it is not avaliable for download, since Daiei even made FREE DISTRIBUTION illegal. When I asked over at Clubtokyo why it was illegal to distribute w/o a fee, they acted like questioning a big company is a sin. I will question anyone and anything I want to.

I would love to see music from people like Ennio Morricone and Luis Bacalov in a kaiju film.

"Fistfull of Dollars" or "The Thing"?

Ennio's is so diverse, even all the westerns he did and watching other movies he scored besides the westerns really shows his range, so if he were to score a kaiju film, I would expect nothing but the best, which is what he always delivers. If he didn't, I'd be down for hearing some of his other music being re-used, much how Quentin often does now.

I wish that Takayuki Hattori would come back and do another score, preferable a sequel to his G2K score. It is so good!

    It was pretty good.

I really like Quentin uses songs from old soundtracks. I would like to see a bunch of music from the older Godzilla soundtracks in a new film.

Yes, though if that were to happen, not try to borrow so much from Ifukube, maybe only the Goji theme. The rest has to be from diffrent composers, like Oshima, Hatori, Sato, ect.

I was thinking some of the music Ifukube composed from the 60s-70s and other composers like Sato, Manabe, and Miyauchi.

It could work if you know how to use music right and I disagree with you about Ifukube being overused.

You can't say that Ifukube's music is "overused" - he wrote quite a bit of music per film. There are several different themes that he composed. Besides, he was one of the Founding Fathers of Godzilla - he was a big part of the franchise, just as were Ishiro Honda, Tomoyuki Tanaka, and Eiji Tsuburaya. Haruo Nakajima is still a pretty big part of the daikaiju industry himself. You wouldn't call any of them "overused", would you? Besides, you have Mr. Ifukube to thank for Godzilla's "roar", and that's not overused. :P

I'm not trying to be rude, it's just I have a lot of respect for Mr. Ifukube, the same as I have for the others. I really don't think Mr. Ifukube's work was overused at all. He was something very constant in the Godzilla series up until his death, and I admire him for that. He came from the now seldom seen school of people who cared enough for their work and were so dedicated that they stuck to it until the end. He put a lot of effort into what he did.

Following that, I agree with Django: provided it is utilized properly, Ifukube's scores could be used for many other Godzilla films, and more than just the Godzilla theme.

I can't remember if the theme from Terror of Mechagodzilla was from Ifukube or not, but that's one that I think would be interesting to reuse. I dunno why - it just came to my mind.

^That was Ifukube. Well, pick up rare enough pieces and maybe he can be used in a new way. Other than that, I say diffrent composers. Just because something birthed another thing doesn't mean it is timeless...

It's kind of like saying John Williams was overused in the Star Wars saga.
