It's been forever since I've seen that movie, so I'd need to know what Megaguiru can do with her sonic abilities before making a judgement call.

Well her sonic abilities can disrupt electronic devices mainly.

While my competitive side is telling me to say "yes", I just don't see how Mortis' beams would do that. His sonic scream might be able to pull it off if it hits the right frequency, but since I didn't think about that angle when I designed Mortis' profile, I can't say for sure either way.

And to comment on Kiryu's cancellation comment, I don't see it being a problem for Mortis, as his attacks are going to be far more intense than any natural vibrations K-2 might make, so I think it's a moot point.

And I just thought of something else, since Mortis' beams work on vibration, which creates friction and friction creates heat, would the heat created by the friction slow K-2 down any? It might lock up his joints and/or servos, which would give Mortis time to line up a second shot, but I'd like to hear Kiryu's opinion.

My opinion is I have no idea in the slightest. When I originally designed K-2 way back when, he was heat-resistant. However in its final version, it has no natural heat resistance to speak of. So it could work, but I don't know to what degree. I mean heat energy created by sound is pretty minor.

Which is why I abstained. I just really don't know. It's who hits who where first for me.

Ok guys; I enjoyed everyone's input. I'm going to jump in with everything I've looked over and heard in the debates and say K-2 by a 'nose'. It will be a good battle none the less..

Guys...I don't think Megaguirus' sonic ability had anything to do with disrupting electronics. I think they were two separate things caused by the same action, namely flapping her wings. Mostly because sonics do not interfere with electronics. The amount of sound energy you'd need to stop electrons from moving along their normal paths would be cause by something like a supernova; in other words, one "wave" would shatter the entire earth. Mortis, though powerful, can't do that.

And sound can't disrupt wireless signals much, if at all, either. They're electromagnetic waves and have no mass. So sonics disrupting electronics...not so much. I suspect Megs creates an electronic jamming frequency with her wings.

So, with all of that, I doubt Mortis is going to be able to interfere with K-2's electronics suite much. Also, the heat generated by the friction caused by Mortis' sound waves would be a lot easier to handle than gears, servos, and hydraulics grinding against each other in ways they aren't supposed to. The heat would make most parts fail a bit faster, but it's very secondary compared to the unhealthy vibrations already causing the mechanics to fail.

That's about all I wanted to say. It's very close, but I think Mortis has enough of an advantage to win.

Also, just as a note, this is the second round in a row that your kaiju has generated the most debate, Met. Congrats.

In the movie Megaguirus' flight causes vibrations which disrupted technology. Re-watch the movie, it's even stated in the film.

In real life, however, they don't. However, what matters here are the stories. Has Mortis' sonic attack harmed electronics before?

More than likely, Mortis' sonic beam will shatter K-2's armor in the entire minute the thing can fire. in a battle, that's pretty much forever.

I would, however, like to know about Mortis' weakness to K-2's weaponry. Would his crystals (which seem to be the source of his sonic weaponry) shatter or melt under the bezerk beam's barrage? What's his resistance like to plasma bursts?
