  • The FFKT, Realm of Expressive Imagination, and RPG categories have been condensed into one category known as Member Creativity. That should de-clutter the main index a bit to make it easier for people to navigate.

  • Kaiju Section is going through an overhaul again. We'll be splitting it back into franchises, since not all franchises have the Godzilla series' Showa/Heisei/Millennium split.

Do you have any Ultraman questions for director/producer Takeshi Yagi? If you, leave them in a reply below and we'll film his personal replies to you for SciFi JAPAN TV!

Mr. Yagi was the producer and showrunner on ULTRAMAN MAX and ULTRASEVEN X, and directed the 2008 feature film SUPERIOR ULTRAMAN 8 BROTHERS. A full list of his credits can be found on his homepage: http://www.takeshi-yagi.com/en/filmography.php

This is so cool, thank you for extending the invitation to ask questions my friend!

My first question is: Were you inspired by the original Ultraman when creating Ultraman Max? If so, what aspects inspired you?

-If given the ability to direct a non-Tsuburaya tokusatsu film, what kaiju or henshin would you like to take on? What do you think you'd be able to add on to the franchise (if your chosen kaiju is a franchise property)?

-What are some of the mistakes have you made that you learned from in directing tokusatsu shows and movies?

-Certain angles and cinematography is required to pull off suitamation, but is there any specific images you wanted to create regardless of this?

-Which do you prefer - Television or cinema?

-Story boarding - do you do it (considering time, particularly when directing television episodes)?

There you go. My questions may show some of my ignorance, but I think these are some good questions. Really get to know Yagi the creator.
