Ultra Kaiju Master
|
Classification: American Third-generation Mecha Alignment: Good Height: 260 Feet [Roughly 80 Meters] Weight: 1,980 Tons Offensive Abilities: I-19 Plasmacaster: When originally created, Gipsy had a pair of plasma cannons built into its arms, each capable of blasting through the hides of even the most heavily armored Kaiju, and can fire these bolts of energy in rapid succession; however, I can't remember if Gipsy Danger still has the left Plasmacaster after later being equipped with the Chainsword... EDIT: Confirmed that Gipsy Danger keeps both Plasmacasters throughout the movie, even after being equipped with the Chainswords. S-11 Pulse Launcher: Quote "fires an orb of pure dark matter at its target; successful strikes tend to disrupt the molecular "reality" of Kaiju biology." Pacific Rim Wiki. Never saw this weapon in use, I think... GD6 Chain Swords: Speaking of which, later in the movie, Gipsy Danger gets equipped with a melee weapon [or weapons, I can't remember; in the game Gipsy has two blades] called the Chainsword, a retractable row of blades that can flex like a whip, or snap together into a sword. The Chainsword can cut through the thickest of Kaiju hides. EDIT: Confirmed that Gipsy Danger has two Chainswords. Rocket Punch: The name says it all... a rocket in the elbow of Gipsy's right arm [and the left in the video game] accelerates the fist, increasing the force of the impact. Defensive Abilities: Arc-9 Nuclear Vortex Turbine: Gipsy Danger can overcharge the energy in its core, and blast it out with enough force to slow down a drop from the upper atmosphere, or burn a hole right through the body of any Kaiju standing to close! In the game, Gipsy uses a massive beam of energy fired from this turbine as an one-shot finisher, with considerably greater range when needed. Passive Abilities: Analog systems: Apparently, Gipsy Danger is impervious to Kaiju generated EMP, due to being an older Mark III using non-digital systems... Thrusters: Gipsy Danger has a pair of thrusters on its back, which are used to boost evasive maneuvers, propel it forward, or increase the momentum of attacks. Strengths: Well rounded Jaeger, equipped with a ranged weapon, melee weapon, and close-quarters defense system. Resilient, mobile, and strong, Gipsy Danger is one of the most well rounded Jaegers around. Weaknesses: Not an overly specialized design, and has exposed knee joints. Appearance: ![]() Personality: Striding into battle like an old west gunslinger, Gipsy Danger uses speed and strength in equal amounts, evading attacks or countering them before they can hit. Gipsy's balanced fighting style is one of the reasons that it's survived many encounters with physically more powerful Kaiju. Gipsy Danger is also an excellent marksman and swordsman. “Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy. They do not attack people because they want to, but because of their size and strength, mankind has no other choice but to defend himself. After several stories such as this, people end up having a kind of affection for the monsters. They end up caring about them.” Ishirô Honda, director of the original Godzilla film... | |
