  • The FFKT, Realm of Expressive Imagination, and RPG categories have been condensed into one category known as Member Creativity. That should de-clutter the main index a bit to make it easier for people to navigate.

  • Due to Photobucket wanting a bulk payment of $400 a year to host images with no other payment options, we are currently looking for another site to host our forum graphics. We appreciate your patience until this process is over.

  • Kaiju Section is going through an overhaul again. We'll be splitting it back into franchises, since not all franchises have the Godzilla series' Showa/Heisei/Millennium split.
  • Check out and vote in our poll in the Kaiju Galaxy Forum section regarding whether we should add a section for the Kamen Rider franchise!

Cherno Alpha; Mark I Pacific Rim Jaeger

    Ultra Kaiju Master
    Classification: Russian First-generation Mecha
    Alignment: Good
Height: 280 Feet [Roughly 85 Meters]
    Weight: 2,412 Tons

    Offensive Abilities:
Incinerator Turbines: Not seen in the movie [but is available in the Xbox Live game], Cherno has a pair of flame throwers on its shoulders, though I think that the reason it doens't use them in the movie is because the Kaiju may be somewhat resistant to extreme heat, making this more of a diversionary weapon.

Z-14 Tesla fists: Cherno Alpha can 'ball up' its fists and use them as massive bludgeons. The fists can also push out like pistons, increasing the amount of damage inflicted. Also, though not used in the movie [but was in the game], the fists can be charged with electricity, to stun its opponents.

    Defensive Abilities:
Armor: Cherno Alpha is insanely well armored, and has an additional defense... it doesn't have a head! This provides greater protection for the pilots, except that, unfortunately, this also means Cherno has no escape pods [Jaegers tradtionally have escape pods on the top of their heads, although this doesn't always help save the pilots.]

    Passive Abilities:
Foot Spikes: On the back of each foot, Cherno Alpha has a pair of pistons, designed to anchor its feet into the ground, providing increased support when delivering pile-driver blows or grappling with larger Kaiju.

Strengths: Raw power and armor, not a Jaeger that will ever go down easily.
Weaknesses: Very slow, and doesn't really have any long-range weapons. Also, lack of escape pods makes Cherno Alpha a potential death trap.

    Appearance:

Personality: The oldest active Jaeger, Cherno Alpha is designed to weather the storm, so to speak. Everything about its design is engineered to be tough, but also ponderous. Cherno Alpha's really more of a defender than an attacker, as it's pretty much guaranteed that Cherno here would be easily outrun by any Kaiju. However, most Kaiju will also discover that Cherno Alpha is very, very tough to damage, and its sheer strength can crush all but the largest or strongest of Kaiju!

“Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy. They do not attack people because they want to, but because of their size and strength, mankind has no other choice but to defend himself. After several stories such as this, people end up having a kind of affection for the monsters. They end up caring about them.”
