My first kaiju poem in years. I randomly wrote it at work.

    Hollow Guardian

    My wings tire,
    rags sewn to my body
    worn by years of war
    and guardian toil.

    My eyes dim,
    in light of the
    hate toward me
    and my kaiju kin.

    My mind fails,
    as I soar upon these
    toxic winds -- hellfire
    smoke and industry.

    My heart envies
    the human ability to
    not care, to revile
    all that is good.

    My moth-heart is hollow,
I fly upon the edge of the world
with the doubt in my mind:
Should I protect, or flee this world?

    I am Mothra,
    bound to this Earth
    like a tightened ring
    around a fattened finger.

Wow... some bug needs a hug STAT! I never thought of Mothra this way, but I guess if I was always called upon to save a world hell-bent on it's own destruction, I'd be a bit bummed out too. Incedently, I once wrote a non-kaiju poem called A Moth: Fragile Beauty where I described the focus of the poem as "tissue paper endowed with life" I think he'd relate!

Thank you for the wonderful comment. :) Mothra in my fan fiction (at least in my newer fan fiction) takes on a distinct characteristic like this: feeling tired. Yet she has to do what she has to do because that's her role in the grand design.

I really like this, Donny, and I remember her showing shades of this in 'A Rose For Mothra'. Poor girl, makes you want to give her a big hug, doesn't it?
