The Flare Queens

Like all Feral dragons, flares are slightly larger than their golden counterparts. Unlike their counterparts, these Queens have built up a resistance to the toxins released during mining. As such their fertility is unaffected. Every time a flare rises, she lays a clutch, and there is a low chance of those eggs being duds. These dragons range in color from red to orange and usually have yellow markings. They lack the metallic sheen of tamed queens. Since Feral dragons follow the old guidelines, flares make up roughly 5% of the dragon population.

Zeniths are sweethearts and really rather lazy. Much like lions, they prefer to allow the females to do most of the work, only getting involved when they think it's necessary or to protect their fellows. Their hides range in shades of purple, and it is not unusual for them to have very distinct markings in patterns of lines or swirls. Zenith's make up roughly 10% of the dragon population.

The Nexus Knights

These dragons are more like puppies. They are highly energetic and in to anything and everything. They are likely to make a mess out of anything that someone has set up to be neat, and have the innate ability to blow through a place like a whirlwind. Nexus dragons always have a dark hide, though it can range from any color in the rainbow. What distinguishes them from other dragon ranks is that Nexus' have bright points of the same color. These points can be many or few, but they are always there. Nexus make up about 20% of the dragon population.
  • Roughly 36'-44'
  • Always Male
  • No Bond Preference
  • Chases Shadows, Solstice, and Equinox

The Shadow Warriors

Shadows are perhaps the most vicious of all the dragons, both tamed and feral. While they are not particularly violent, they are quick to react if threatened and have a strike first, ask questions later attitude. The are often chosen to be the guardians of the younglings because they are trusted to keep the new dragons safe. While they will clutch, it seems that they do not become fertile if there is a Flare clutch near, ensuring that there are not too many young. Shadows are always some shade of gray, ranging from nearly white to almost black, and often have scar like markings. Shadows make up about 25% of the dragon population.

The Equinox Twins

Equinoxes, like Solstices, share a close affinity with nature. Unlike their gentler twins, however, these dragons tend to sense when natural disasters are approaching. They sense things such as earthquakes, bad storms, droughts, and even the occasional death. Equinoxes seem to loose their abilities as they grow older, so it is often the younger dragons who give the earliest warnings. These dragons come in dark colors, blues, greens, and browns, though they have been known to hatch different colors. They lack the bright points of the Nexus dragons. Equinoxes will always hatch with a Solstice twin of the opposite gender, and share a bond with their twin much like the dragon-rider bond of tamed dragons. If their twin dies, often these dragons between themselves. If they do not, they are mentally impaired for the rest of their lives. Equinox and Solstice twins make up about 40% of the dragon population.

The Solstice Twins

The smallest of the feral dragons, aside from the rare Dwarf, Solstices are very in tune with nature. They often know when storms are coming, or if there will be a major shift in the weather. They can accurately predict when the seasons will change, and are often seen going into hiding just before the first snowfalls of winter. Solstices are always lighter colors, usually greens, blues, or pinks, but it's not unheard of for them to hatch in other colors. They always hatch with an Equinox of the opposite gender, and share a bond with their twin much like the dragon-rider bond of tamed dragons. Usually, if the twin dies, the Solstice will between themselves. If they don't, they are mentally impaired for the rest of their lives. Equinox and Solstice twins make up about 40% of the dragon population.

    The Dwarf Stars

The last remnants of the legendary white dragons, the Dwarfs are the smallest of all dragons. They are eerily intelligent and have the longest memory of any dragon. They are often snarky and have no sense of when to say things. Oddly enough, though the rarest of dragons, they are the most likely to choose a rider when they hatch. Dwarf dragons are any combination of red and white, and can be both or only one of these colors. They make up less than 1% of the dragon population.
