At the entrance to the Daimyo's Hall stands a pedestal and upon it rests the ancient scroll that the Tokugawa officers have used for generations to confer their orders to the Daimyo and the rest of the clan. People have begun to call this scroll the Scroll of Fate, for it is what's written here that will determine the course of the clan, whether it is bound for doom or glory. Pages upon pages are filled with the orders of officers past and present, detailing a comprehensive history of the clan for the last few centuries in beautiful penmanship. The orders show the mutual respect Daimyo and officers have developed for one another. Now a new generation of loyal officers stands at the ready to give their orders and together with their great Daimyo make their mark on history... |

Yusei, having reviewed his notes, stood and bow towards the Daimyo Hirotada, and walked towards the Scroll of Fate. He began writing his official orders, making sure every detail was included from his notes. Luckily, his skill in writing had helped him finish his orders quickly and efficiently. As soon as he was finished, he took a brisk look and walked out the Hall into the town. The Official Orders from Nagao Yusei, Kensei Sword Master read: Recruitment Report: Province: Mikawa Recruitment Time: Winter 1562 Recruitment: 2 Units of Bow Ashigaru and 1 Yari Ashigaru are to be trained in Mikawa. Fujiko was the next to bow towards Hirtotada and then approached the Scroll of Fate. She dipped the brush into the ink and, while holding her sleeve with one hand as to not get ink on it, wrote: Date: Do not make any diplomatic advances. Do not break the alliance or declare war on them. They are expected to do so themselves over the next 6 months to 2 years. But when the southern clans declare war on us, request their assistance anyway. It'll ruin their trade with the south and give us an economic edge over them in the coming war. Can't hurt to keep them on edge and their attention diverted among different enemies. Hattori: Maintain the alliance at all costs. That means promising aid when they are being declared war upon and requesting aid when we are being declared war upon. Use money to maintain a relationship of above +25. Payment plan for gifts and war subsidies: Winter 1562 - 1.000 koku Spring 1563 - 1.000 koku Summer 1563 - 500 koku Fall 1563 - 500 koku In the spring of 1564 Neneme-sama will be old enough to marry into the Hattori-clan. Arrange for that once the time comes. Ikko Ikki: Once Echizen has been taken as per the Kensei's orders, establish the Ikko Ikki as our vassal. Secure trade rights with them immediately. After 1 season (turn) request them to join the war against the Yamana. Religion: Right now only Kaga has less than 100% Shinto-Buddhist belief. However due to the fact that it's a castle there's no major problem here. After setting down the brush, she bowed once more and left the hall. Edited by Naughty_Ranko, 30/08/2011 - 07:35 am.

Motohisa began to approach the scroll. Pausing in front of the scroll, he turned to bow at Hirtotada and then proceeded to carefully write on the scroll, paying close attention to his writing and treating it as if it were a painting. We shall begin studying Chonindo. Below I have included a predicted treasury report based on my calculations and to allow the other officers to do their orders while being able to keep the treasury in a good shape. Any unspent money from the officers will be used on additional construction work. For construction, build the first buildings first and work down the list as funds permit. Also, the reserve treasury may be used on anything the Honourable Daimyo deems important, including repairing or anything else. Treasury report Autumn 1562 Sword Master: up to 2000 Shinobi Elder: Up to 1000 Minimum reserve treasury: 1000 Winter 1562 Head Priestess: 1000 Sword Master: Up to 1000 Shinobi Elder: Up to 1000 Minimum reserve treasury: 1000 Spring 1563 Head Priestess: 1000 Shinobi Elder: up to 700 Minimum reserve treasury: 500 Summer 1563 Head Priestess: 500 Shinobi Elder: Up to 1000 Minimum reserve treasury: 1000 Autumn 1563 Head Priestess: 500 Shinobi Elder: Up to 1000 Minimum reserve treasury:1000 Winter 1563 Shinobi Elder: up to 1000 Minimum reserve treasury: 1000 Spring 1564 Shinobi Elder: up to 1000 Minimum reserve treasury: 1000 Building lists Etchu: Repair Castle Echigo: Demolish Foot Archery Range North Shinano: Demolish Warhorse stables Sagami: Demolish Siege Engineers Workshop Mikawa: Fortress, Military Port Kaga: Market Noto: Market Hida: Market Echigo: Market North Shinano: Market Sagami: Market Mikawa: Horse Breeders Suruga: Rice exchange Kazusa: Rice exchange Fukushima: Repair Castle, Demolish Foot Archery Range Musashi: Rice exchange Fukushima: Market South Shinano: Rice Exchange Suruga: Terrace Farming Mikawa: Market Etchu: Terrace Farming Totomi: Terrace Farming Izu: Terrace Farming South Shinano: : Terrace Farming Hida: : Terrace Farming Owari: Stronghold After writing all of this, Motohisa took his brush, and walked away. |

(I am very late... Sorry about this. Work got in the way) Mokudo bows deeply to Hirotada, his face humble and withdrawn. He sidles up to the scroll and takes it in his hand, feeling the power that it represented. Slowly, savoring the moment, he dips the pen into the ink, and then begins to write. Move the ninja that resides south of Echigo castle down Suruga to attempt assassination of the enemy ninja that has taken up residence in the area. While this is happening, begin recruitment of a second ninja; when he is ready, have him meet up with our assassin and train him in sabotage. This will form the first ninja strike team. Once the agent is delt with, begin a push into Date lands with the team to covertly weaken supply lines, food production, and assassinate officials. Should assassination fail, use the Metsuke in Noto to kill or capture the enemy agent. Once he is available, move him up north to embed with the Daimyo's army. This will deter ninja attacks on our lord. And finally, over the course of several seasons, I would like a criminal syndicate to be formed in one of the cities along our southern front. This will allow the gradual recruitment of Kisho ninja into our armies. The expensive nature of these units will not allow bulk recruitment. (I feel kind of left out with all of your big long specific posts. My work is small scale and much less precise. I'm jealous.) |

(I know that I will be working late tomorrow, so I'll post early today.) Our ninja team should continue on their predetermined plan to disrupt the Date war machine, as well as their economic stability. Our assassin should make enemy agents his first priority, but if none can be located, should attack important general and officials in the Date hierarchy. Our saboteur, being relatively inexperience should go for easy targets like farms and trading posts, and when he gains more experience, go for recruitment stations and dojos. If any Christian provinces are captured, a monk should be recruited to pacify and convert the population, as per Fujiko-Sama's request. If there are no Metsuke to spare, one should be recruited to protect our Daimyo in the field to deter assassination attempts. If one can be spared, all the better, as a more experienced agent will be protecting our Lord. Yusei has assured me that Kisho Ninja will be recruited eventually, but not now. I eagerly await his approval of their recruitment. That is all. |

Motohisa slowly walked up to the scroll of fate. Looking a lot more pale than normal, his steady hand was shaking as he grabbed his brush. Showing great focus on his face, he began to write on the scroll, it was clear he was struggling to even do the simplest task. What he wrote was: This report is structured the same as before. We shall carry on studying our current art. Taxes shall be set to low immediately and no region is permitted to be exempted from tax, no matter the situation. Treasury Report Autumn 1563 Sword Master: up to 10000 Shinobi Elder: up to 1000 Reserve Treasury: 2000 Construction: Everything else Winter 1563 Sword Master: up to 1000 Shinobi Elder: up to 2000 Reserve Treasury: 2000 Construction: Everything else Spring 1564 Shinobi Elder: up to 2000 Reserve Treasury: 2000 Construction: Everything else Summer 1564 Shinobi Elder: up to 2000 Reserve Treasury: 2000 Construction: Everything else Autumn 1564 Shinobi Elder: up to 2000 Reserve Treasury: 2000 Construction: Everything else Winter 1564 Shinobi Elder: up to 2000 Reserve Treasury: 2000 Construction: Everything else Construction Orders Fukushima: Demolish Foot Archery Range Kazusa: Criminal Sydicate Mikawa: Market (as soon as the castle is upgraded) Echigo: Market Noto: Market Kaga: Market Hida: Market North Shinano: Market Sagami: Market Fukushima: Market (as soon as the Foot Archery Range is demolished) Suruga: Terrace Farming Totomi: Terrace Farming South Shinano: Terrace Farming Etchu: Terrace Farming Hida: Terrace Farming Izu: Terrace Farming Sagami: Terrace Farming Having finished writing all he needed to, Motohisa visibly relaxed and turned around and began to slowly leave, every step taking large amounts of energy and effort from him. He even briefly paused once while walking down the corridor, however it was only for a few seconds so only the most observant of people would notice it. |

Nagao Yusei walked into the Hall the next day, fresh and ready to leave his orders to which the Tokugawa will undergo for the next few seasons. As usual before taking out his brush, Nagao Yusei bowed before the Daimyo and took up his brush. He had spent the past day learning to write with one eye. It wasn’t as great as it was before the attack, but the orders were clearly legible. The Official Orders from Nagao Yusei, Kensei Sword Master read: Recruitment Report: Province: Mikawa Recruitment Time: Fall 1563 Recruitment: 1 Katana Samurai, 1 Yari Ashigaru, and 1 Bow Ashigaru are to be trained in Mikawa. Province: Sagami Recruitment Time: Fall of 1563 Recruitment/Movement: 1 Katana Samurai, 1 Yari Ashigaru, and 1 Bow Ashigaru are to be trained in Sagami and sent immediately to Musashi for defense against a Date threat. Fujiko entered the hall and picked up the brush. She was pleased to see that the other officers had included all their promises made during the discussions as well as the Proposition of the Week. Hattori: Unless hostile actions against them are taken or something unforeseen happens, there won't be any need for further payments. Princess Neneme is to be married into the Hattori clan immediately upon her 14th birthday in the spring of 1564. Ikko Ikki: Monetary subsidies are not required at this point, but might help to support their forces in their war effort. Getting rid of the small Yamana force in the Echizen province through Mochimori, will enable them to push our enemies back. Religious affairs: Upon the capture of Hitachi, the Nanban trade port must be torn down immediately. As per the Elder's orders a monk should immediately be sent there. (Shimotsuke has a temple and as the neighbouring province is the perfect place to recruit one.) Clan Proposition of the Week: (made by lovetotalwar and accepted by the people with a clear majority) Recruit more ships to protect our sea shores and use them to blockade ports and raid enemy trade routes as per the Kensei's instructions. |

After the Hall had been silent for a long time, Fujiko wordlessly stood up and approached the Scroll of Fate to write down her orders. She was disappointed at the lack of planning, foresight and discussion that had been exhibited by her fellow officers and hoped that at least their orders wouldn't conflict. Hattori: No further advances are to be made. The prediction for the Hattori to declare war on us is 2 - 3 years. It would seem that this is enough time to prepare. Ikko Ikki: Relations are cold but acceptable. Yamana forces are expected to counter the Ikki's last move in Wakaza and then advance into Hattori territory, but could also advance on the Ikko-Ikki capital. It is strongly recommended to at least secure Echizen to assure their survival and thus continued trade and support. New vassals: Upon the capture of Miyagi the province is to be turned over to the Hatekayama. To make a trade agreement with them immediately goes without saying. Religious affairs: Kaga has a declining population of 13.6% Ikki believers. With the low taxes and my lord's high honour it is not a problem. Christianity in Hitachi has fallen to a mere 33.3% due to our monk's effort. Thanks to his continued service Christian belief is expected to be eradicated from the province over the next 2 - 3 years. Every other province in our possession is firm in their Shinto-Buddhist belief. Clan Proposition of the Week: None. Due to time restraints and lack of proposals. Fujiko put down the brush, bowed to Hirotada once and left the hall. Edited by Naughty_Ranko, 13/09/2011 - 05:50 am.

Nagao Yusei stepped into the hall, just after seeing Fujiko-Sama walk off. He looked around and realized he hadn’t missed anything and thus began writing his orders. The official orders of Nagao Yusei read: Recruitment Report: Province: Mikawa Recruitment Time: Winter of 1564 Recruitment: 2 Katana Samurai Province: Kaga Recruitment Time: Winter of 1564 Recruitment/Movement: 1 Naginata Samurai, 1 Yari Ashigaru, and 1 Bow Ashigaru. These troops will move within proximity of Echizen in case of a Yamana attack on the Ikko Ikki Province: Echigo Recruitment Time: Winter of 1564 Recruitment/Movement: 2 Naginata Samurai, 1 Yari Cavalry are to be trained and immediately sent to Fukushima Province: Kasuza Recruitment Time: Winter of 1564 Recruitment/Movement: Kisho Ninja to Fukushima General Recommendations and Movement: Army Location: Sagami Army Makeup: 1 Katana Samurai Movement: To Fukushima Army Location: Echigo Army Makeup: 1 Naginata Samurai Movement: Fukushima |

A small smile on his face, Motohisa also rose and began slowly walking over to the scroll. Pulling out his brush, a look of concentration appeared on his face as he began to carefully write his orders, they were: Treasury Report Allow whatever funds the other officers need, however at least 2500 must be kept in reserve, as per normal, our wise Daimyo may use the reserve treasury on matters he considers important. Construction is not as important currently, as the building work that has already begun Construction Report Mikawa: Cancel Market Hitatchi: Demolish Archery Dojo. Terrace Farming (market when archery dojo is demolished) Shimotsuke: Terrace Farming Mikawa: Horse Breeders, Warhorse stables Hitachi: Harbour Fukushima: Post Roads and Stations Suruga: Trading Port Musahi: Trading Port Noto: Trading Port Hida: Lumberyards (If anything was confusing, just send me a pm and hope that I will be able to respond in time) Having finished what he was writing, Motohisa then began to calmly walk away from the hall, back to his bedchambers in the room next to the Tatami Council. |

Our Metsuke on the Date borders is to head north and begin bribing enemy generals. Any individual to refuse the offer should be dealt with accordingly by our assassin. The group of Date armies to the west of our assassin should be the first priority; once these are taken care of, our assassin should head north. His ultimate goal should be to assassinate their Daimyo, but discretion should be exercised in this act. I do not believe he is ready for this task. He should work his way up the family, starting with brothers, then moving on to sons, then to heirs. The Daimyo should be his penultimate goal in later years. The Metsuke should head north in front of the ninja, attempting to identify enemy agents and marking them as secondary targets for our assassin. If any of our forces or agents are attacked or confronted by enemy agents, however, their apprehension or assassination should become our prime concern. Our saboteur should follow closely behind the assassin, taking our targets of opportunity, primarily economic and industrial assets to the Date. Start with farms and undefended ports, as they will be easy enough for the still relatively untested ninja. Our monk should continue his religious pacification attempts without interruption. Lastly, I would like to assure that the squad of kisho ninja that have yet to be recruited will never let you down my lord, as long as they are deployed and used to their strengths. |

Fujiko sighed and approached the Scroll of Fate. Except for her own orders she had no idea what would soon be written here and judging by the daimyo's frown, neither did he. Hattori and Ikko-Ikki: Relations with both clans are friendly at the moment and there's no need to take any diplomatic actions. Relations with the Hattori are expected to decline, but the alliance will most likely not be broken for at least another year. Religious Affairs: Kaga's population of Ikki believers is now less than 10% and thus no reason for concern. Christian belief in Hitachi has dropped to 25.5%. Our monk's services will be required for at least another two years, but any immediate danger of rebellion has been quelled. Clan Proposition of the Week: -accepted by the people with an overwhelming approval rate of 100% of the votes cast Send an agent into Hattori and Yamana territory to gage their military strength and scout out the situation for the coming war. (by Rufus Hinkley (Totalwarknight)) Notes: The Metsuke from Mikawa could be sent immediately, however it is my understanding that his services are needed to keep Ieyasu-sama safe. Mino has the ability to recruit either a monk or a ninja that could crosss the border in less than six months. Another Metsuke could easily be brought in from Totomi or South Shinano. A ninja to replace the one that was recently lost seems to be the logical choice. Fujiko laid down the brush, bowed to Hirotada and left the hall. |

Motohisa walked up to the scroll with an expressionless face. Once again, he pulled out his brush and began to write his orders that he had memorised from his previous calculations earlier in the season, It was: General Overview Our economic situation is dire, our profit is at an all-time low and I shall do my upmost to make us once again have a healthy profit to allow myself and the other officers more money to spend to achieve our goals. I shall have to delay some of my plans that focused on improving the lives of the people in order o achieve this as quickly as possible. Treasury Report All turns: Shinobi Elder: Up to 1000 Reserve Treasury: 2000 Arts (This section is out of character as my character wouldnt write about it but it fits the RP. After Chonindo, start researching Tea ceremony. This represents the planned tea ceremony and the Damiyo becoming more recognised as a result, also in terms of gameplay the extra honour can prove quite helpful with almost everything from diplomacy to happiness to taxes.) Construction Report Mikawa: Yari Drill yard (due to the poll in ‘The people’s Mikawa’ and as it was a draw the Tatami Master decided to select the Yari Drill yard) and Warhorse Stables Hitachi: Market and Harbour Noto: Trading Port Shimotsuke: Terrace Farming Fukushima: Terrace Farming and ‘post roads and stations’ Totomi: Merchants Guild Kozuke: Merchants Guild Hida: Lumberyard and Rice Exchange |
