It had been quiet in the council, again. But that didn't deter Fujiko. She had made her plans and arrangements. And she had spoken her mind about military affairs. The rest was up to Hirotada and the Kensei. Calmly she approached the scroll and began to write. Ikko-Ikki: No actions. Relations are very good. Takaoka: The standing order remains. Gift of 1.000 koku, if relations drop below 20 for any reason. Keep Machiko unmarried. Religious affairs: Wakasa: 3% Ikko - Has no effect on public order. North Shinano: 2.8% Ikko - Has no effect on public order right now. Could create a minor inconvenience, if the Ikko-Ikki army lingers for long. Chances for that are slim, however. Fukushima: 10.1% Ikko - Minor effect on public order, but fine for now and it won't be increasing. Once the newly recruited monk from Shimotsuke arrives, the percentage is expected to drop below 5% in half a year. Clan Proposition of the Week: None. Like last year Fujiko sighed at the final line. Maybe it was a testimony to how well the campaign was progressing towards it's ultimate goal, that nobody had any suggestions. Still, she would have liked nothing more than to include at least one more good Clan Proposition in her orders before the end. |

Chikage sat and considered what to write, but little came to her. Her previous orders had woven together and intricate web, an now her agents awaited for the Hattori to fall within it in order to pounce, there was little need for them to move, only react according to the movements of the enemy as they had already been commanded to do; each a cog within a great machine working together to wipe out the opposition, but each capable of sufficient autonomy when directed to suitable areas. She paused for a moment, "Recruit two metsuke, as requested by the daimyo, in order to protect the two new armies. There is little need for the armies to wait for the metsuke as they will no doubt catch up, and the current threat from Hattori assassins is considerably lower than it was at the start of the war when they had several agents alive in the area." She turned to walk away, but stopped momentarily to commit a final line to the scroll: "Wipe out the Hattori." |

Kaiso decided to keep it brief. He wasn't scrawling in preexisting plans as with last year, but the main plan was basic enough that the daimyo could fill in the blanks and oversee the rest as he willed. Upgrade farming, by priority: Omi Uzen / Iwate Mino Lastly, he filled in a detail he hadn't discussed in council, but had been itching to have written since attaining his predecessor had opened up the old Master of the Arts position... Mastery of the Arts: Heaven and Earth A relaxed sigh escaped his mouth as he completed the last stroke, a long-standing weight lifted from his shoulders. Edited by Kimarous, 25/10/2011 - 11:04 am.

Kurimoto walked over to the scroll. He said "Officers of the Daimyo and Great Hirotada I feel the final years of our waiting are at hand. We shall soon accomplish our Ultimate goal. As I have deliberated with my fellow officers about our final battle plan, I feel we have formulated a master plan. Behold the collaboration of our efforts." "After a staunch defense Ieyasu (Yellow) will take Kawachi and aid in the assault of Iga. Mochimori (Purple) will take his army after Ieyasu takes Kawachi and Join with Ieyasu's army to begin the siege of Iga. Mochikata (Green) will Decimate the Chosokabe's forces and then in a quick succession move to take Ise, then take Yamato and then Kii. After the battle of Iga the forces shall be organized. The most elite and freshest troops shall be moved into Ieyasu's Army. Additional forces shall go to Mochimori and he will take his forces to reinforce Mochikata. All the while Okubo (Blue) Shall be landing his forces and marching towards Kyoto. Finally Ieyasu and Okubo will besiege Kyoto and force the Shogunate to fight in the field where his large amount of archers shall be rendered ineffective against our two armies. Also the Reinforcement army (Cyan) will move to fortify Settsu from any further attacks." "We have also thought of a Plan B." "Its pretty self explanatory, The forces of Iga attack Settsu, while they are gone Mochimori occupies the undefended Iga and then the Reinforcement army takes over Kawachi. Ieyasu stays at Settsu, and Mochimori and Okubo Siege Kyoto. Mochikata has no alterations." "Then I thought if they truly are extremely desperate they may use the army at Iga and Take Omi. In that case i have prepared a final Plan C." "Here there would no longer be an army for Mochimori in which case the reinforcements move to reinforce Settsu and Ieyasu moves to take Kawachi and the Iga which would be slightly defended. Mochikata stays on his path. Okubo shall change direction from sieging Kyoto to Liberating Omi." "I humbly thank Fujiko for her shocking military prowess and others who imparted words of wisdom into our strategies. I now say this, If we cannot win by these strategies laid before us...Then I will step down as Kensei. You have my word as a warrior." |

Fujiko stepped up to the Scroll of Fate. She pondered that for a moment. It's name had never been more accurate than this time. If all went well, these would be the last orders to give. One year from now Japan could finally be unified again in peace. She began to write: Ikko-Ikki: No actions at present. Relations are still very friendly. Takaoka: Arrange Machiko-sama's marriage into the clan. That will ensure their loyalty for the rest of the campaign. But by all means necessary prevent the last Hattori army from overrunning them. Otherwise all our hard work with them will be down the drain, our flank twisting in the breeze and your daughter a widow at the age of 15. Do not let that happen. General Note: If the campaign should against expectations last longer than a year after taking Kyoto, a gift of 1.000 koku to each of our vassals may be required to reassure them of our eventual victory. Religious Affairs: Fukushima: 4.9% Ikko - Negligable as of next season. South Shinano: 3.4% Ikko - Has no effect on public order. This is just in case, but if the plans change and we do have to take Harima for any reason, tear down the Nanban port and send the monk currently in Omi there as soon as possible. Clan Proposition of the Week: None. But we had three very good ones in the past. I suppose quality made up for quantity. Fujiko began to turn away, but thought better of it. Picking up the brush one last time she wrote: It's been an honour serving with all of you. Now let's end this blasted war once and for all! By this time next year we celebrate Peace!!! |

Kurimoto stepped up to the scroll. Recruitment: Recruit a few units of bow and yari ashigaru from Yamato once we have captured it. That way we can bolster that army as it takes the other cities. Ieyasu will be given the elite troops before he heads towards Kyoto. I also feel we should recruit 3 Yari Ashigaru and 3 Bow Ashigaru in Tamba that will be used to reinforce the Takoaka, in case the large Hattori army decides to attack them. However if the hattori army should find itself attempting to launch an attack on seffsu, those troops will be allocated to the defense of seffsu. Movement: The army outside Yamato will capture Yamato, then recruit the units listed. That army will then move to capture Kii. The great Mochimori will take his lesser troops and take Kawachi. All the while Ieyasu after recieving the elite units, will besiege Kyoto. If needed Mochimori can assist Ieyasu if the Daimyo sees it best. Final word: "I feel we shall end it here. We will take Kyoto and after the Hattori armies are crushed we can be able to make peace with the other clans. I know that a time of peace and prosperity await us at the end of this bloody conflict. So let us get to that time. May this war end quickly." Kurimoto bowed then left the building to get a breath of fresh air. |

“Saneatsu is to be sent Westward immediately in order to track the large Hattori army in Mimasaka province. Do not squander his time, the instant he is given the opportunity to sabotage the hated foe he must do so in order to ensure that they are not given the option to attack the Takaoka; should he fail they may fall.” “Yorimasa is to continue his current assignment to assassinate the Hattori ninja that is lurking within our lands. Once he has done so he should attempt to return to Kyoto where he can be put to work detaching the Shogun’s generals’ heads. Takeo is also to make his way towards Kyoto, where he can be put to work sabotaging as necessary in order to give us a slight advantage in the battle to come.” “Additionally I would like another ninja to be recruited immediately in Omi province and given training in assassination, in order to also attempt to reduce the number of generals present in the battle to come.” “The monk currently stationed in Omi is to attempt to demoralise the army present in Kyoto, his denouncement of the Shogun will surely tip the scales in our favour.” “Finally, all metsuke are to accompany the generals they have been assigned to, in order to ensure that they remain safe from assassination even in this late stage of our campaign. It would be a travesty to lose a figure beloved by the populace when victory is within our grasp.” Chikage smiled, these would likely be her final orders. Words were no longer what was required to triumph, in the seasons to come blades would do the talking. |

Farm Upgrades: Omi, Kaga, Ugo, Miyagi Next Art: Calligraphy After writing things down, Kaiso took a moment to stare at the preceding notes. He wasn't sure what the future held, so he didn't know if he'd see this text ever again. Plenty of good done, however, and plenty more still to do. |
