Yusei, still mounted on his horse, moved towards his ambush unit. A Black Samurai interecepted, in his hands was the matchlock. Without uttering a word, Yusei nodded his head, and the samurai set up his position. He ordered 5 archers to ready their bows, and 5 melee troops to draw their weapons. One archer lit his arrow on fire and shot it into a small patch of grass, lighting it on fire. The shadows of the patrol began marching towards it. And then, the shot was fired. Its furious blast ripped through the air like butter, leaving a thunderclap of a sound in its wake. It could be heard wizzing through the air as it hit a poor patrol ashigaru troop. Uttering a painful sounding screech, the bullet ripped through 2 of the ashigaru and their pathetic armor. The painful shrills and shrieks of the ashigaru could be heard from such a distance. The bows fiired their arrows into the stunned unit, impaling the ashigaru, who lacked fast reflexes. The vast majority of the troops they had was still too strong. Even when disoriented, they must have a skilled captain to pull them through. They began to charge at the troops, yari in hand. The 5 melee ashigaru/samurai charged forward, the ashigaru killing 1 or 2 men before being cut down by the mass mob. Only 2 samurai remained, a splinter of troops meanwhile attacking the bowmen. The matchlock gunmen had one last shot, and he made it count, it blasted through 2 men this time and caused a panic. The samurai turned to Yusei,"My lord, my job is done. For the unification of Japan and mastery of my art I sacrifice my life and my friends' lives so that you can live. You must live my lord, for the sake of Japan. Do not fail me." He turned and joined the other two samurai... in a count of seconds, multiple yari were impaled through them. Yusei, holding the matchlock, turned and ran. His face covered by a mask, not wanting to reveal his identitiy. Only a few stragglers of the Black Samurai remained, too tired to run. Yusei rode off to rendezvous with Wano, Isamu, and Raion. The Battle of the Watchtower was over. OOC: Hey guys, you can now post about the watchtower, however your character must know only small details of the battle, unless tey participated. Think logically, don't allow your characters to know more than they should. ALSO FOR THE RECORD MY CHARACTER IS PRESUMED DEAD, UNLESS YOUR CHARACTER HAS ABSOLUTE PROOF, DO NOT SAY ANYTHING REGARDING THE FORMER KENSEI UNTIL HE REVEALS HIMSELF *HINT HINT WINK WINK* |

Isamu sat in his temporary camp, not far from Mikawa though it is certainly well hidden. Who would be foolish enough to camp so near to the capital and not bother to take precautions? - Isamu was indeed taking a dangerous path, though with things the way they are at current, certain dangers must simply be ignored. Isamu's camp was relatively small. This meant it could be easily hidden and most importantly, well defended. Bows were in the trees. Men with sharp eyes ever ready to pierce an oncoming enemy with the sharpest, most poisonous arrowheads in Japan. A cowardly tactic, though necessary when going against a superpower. Isamu sat in his personal tent going over some maps and plans with his second-in-command; Jajami. Scrolls littered the tiny tent and amongst them all, sat Isamu sipping his Sake. Jajami preferred to stand nearest to the entrance - a simple yet mostly effective method of safeguarding his leader and friend. At the entrance stood two large men armed and armored to the teeth. These men were bodyguards and they were very good at their job. "Guards, I've a message for the general. Is it o.k to go through?" A very tired, hungry & probably thirsty messenger said. He had been traveling the lands with Isamu's agents. Those were Isamu's eyes and ears throughout the cities in Japan. One of the guards at the entrance nodded in confirmation and the messenger moved inside the tent; "My lord Isamu may I speak?" Isamu nodded. "Very good sir. I've some information from your agents in Mikawa. They said to deliver this letter to you immediately." Isamu motioned the messenger to hand over the letter and he did so. Isamu then through a small bag on the floor, within it was some Koku. Isamu smiled; "Here. Have this. I understand it isn't easy doing what you do. I hope to hear from you soon. Now go." With that the messenger thanked Isamu and rushed out of the tent as ordered. Upon opening the letter, Isamu looked up at Jajami. "Seems our guys have been busy. Let's see what atrocities await my eyes this time." Jajmi just laughed and continued doing whatever it was he was doing. Isamu scanned over the letter and it simply read; "My lord Isamu. This is Hansooi - leader of your agents in Mikawa. We have some important information you need to be aware of. The Daimyo is cracking down on security. He's recruited officials (both skilled and.... pathetic), to join his newly established 'Security Council'. This council is designed to sniff out any trouble both in and outside of Mikawa province. That includes the border woodland where you are currently stationed, my lord. At current the council is weak and without any major skill, though there are certain individuals who can't help themselves. They're getting itchy and it wont be long before they start looking. Your name hasn't come up.... yet. And that's not a bad thing considering what happened with the watchtower. Great victory my lord, as always. I'd expect no less! Ill keep my eyes out and continue tracking down small scouting parties. You'll hear from me soon." An evil grin soon appeared on Isamu's face. "So even now I remain unnoticed? But for how long I wonder? The council is in pieces over the arduous war with the Hattori. It shouldn't be long before-" Isamu was cut off. Jajami stepped in and informed him an informant from The Shogunate has arrived. Sent from The Shogunate himself. |

(after the watchtower battle) Tanimoto watch as the last of the enemy fled into the trees and then disappear. He was shock by how much he had lost, he lost a total of 10 men 5 injury one of them being a men that got shot by the matchlock which luckily entered through his shoulder and out. Luckily they found 2 survivors of the watchtower garrison alive but badly injuried which Kenichi is treating now. It took all of Tanimoto's skill to prevent more death but even so he considers this a lost even though the enemy lost 32 men in that battle and including the garrison force Tanimoto lost 23. "Damn it, I should have been better I could have prevented the lost of my men" as he kicked himself as punishment for losing so much man. Tanimoto sighed and let kenichi and his helpers tend to the wounded to see if he can find out who did this among the battlefield. As Tanimoto was searching the battlefield he heard this chuckle coming from nearby. He quickly move to the sound to find an enemy samurai on the ground laughing. "You kick yourself for something that couldn't be avoided, you are a fool and an idiot. You just got lucky there weren't more of us we would have crushed you!". "A fool and an idiot am I? Well then why am I here and you are there? Now tell me who are you?" said Tanimoto as he unsheathed his katana. "WE ARE THE NAGOA CLAN! We existed to destroy the pathetic and cowardly tokugawa clan. We will kill all those that even care for that stupid clan or it's daimyo. We will kill you....." he stopped as he noticed the katana near his neck. "HA you are going to kill me go ahead I'm going to die anyway so might as well finish me off". "No, i will not kill you. Tell me your name and who is your Daimyo?" said Tanimoto but kept the katana near the neck. "Screw you, I don't give a damn you will all die by the Nagoa clan and I'm going to laugh as you wimper and beg for yo..." he was stopped by Tanimoto's punch to his jaw. "Now, TELL ME !!!" yelled Tanimoto which caused his men to approach to see what is going on. "Hahahahahahahaha I am your worst nightmare. I am part of the Black Samurai that will destroy the Tokugawa, I am Tobi Harno. And my Daimyo will personally chop of the head of your cowardly and dishonorable Daimyo." he yelled excitedly as if to instill fear into the men around him but Tanimoto kept calm and tried to control his anger boilling up. "What is the name of your Daimyo?" Tanimoto seethed through clenched teeth. "Ha wouldn't you like to know. But I will give you a hint. He was close but now far.He was once a trusted ally but now is your most dangerous enemy. He will...He wil..." with is he finnally lost conscious. "Kenchi come here quickly" yelled Tanimoto. Has Kenichi approached Tanimoto said "Treat this man we will bring him to Mikawa to interigate." "Suji go tell Muchi to regroup with us we need to get to the capital to inform of this rebel Nagoa clan to the Daimyo" said Tanimoto in quickly. With this rebellion going on to create this "Nagoa Clan" Tanimoto was unsure to who it might be. Maybe once he reaches the capital and informs the Daimyo and discusses it with him they might find the answer. Hopefully it wasn't someone that had huge amount of power and information. |

The sight of the great capital in the orange light of the susnet was breathtaking. Great towers stood sentinels to a vast city that had a great structure overseeing it all. The flow of the three hollyhock leaves was calm. It was a warm end of the day, and Lelouche finally arrived at the most promissing city in Japan. As he entered the city the streets were almost empty. Lulu entered the first inn he encountered, sat down, oredered a meal and gave some rest to his legs. Unfortunately his voyage was not complemented with a horse. ****** "Take it double and come back only when obtain the products. You will receive one hundred koku for each merchant that agrees with what is written on this piece of paper" said Lulu to a middle aged man. Hours later he came back. "Three merchants agreed to join, but they said they wanted to discuss these conditions before they sink themselves in this new project". The messenger looked dusty because he spent all day long running from one lace to another. Mikawa was no small village. "Three... It could be worse. tell them to come here tomorrow at midday, and we shall talk it through." ****** The trade embargoes were being shipped under Lulu's watchfull eye. It has been a week since The Eastern trade company was founded. It had three leaders. Lulu, Iashite and Yuri. The fourth one did not agree to enter this plan. "Too risky" he said. It was the first shipment. It contained gunpwder. The gunpowder was obtained by Yuri form the destruction of the nanban tradeport in Heitachi, however he did not have anyone to sell it to. Lulu had to appeal to an old contact that made him a buyer somewhere in the chosokabe lands. The payment came first, and the only thing remaining now was to ensure the safe reaching of the trade goods. |

Some disappointing news had arrived in a small enclosed letter. It was written from the Shogun's personal assistance. It seems that the impending danger upon our capital city had caused a great disruption. We require the Tokugawa Dayimo dead, and fast. We are sending over a spare army, but since the tokugawa army is approaching by land, we are boarding our army onto our boats. There is 500 troops on the boats and together with the might of your force our army should have around 600 troops. Mikawa is lightly defended, so if the capital falls, the nation will crumble with the rest of their southern territories. Transport and trade ships come in and out of the Mikawa port all the time, so we should be able to slip in to the port and land. The Shogun will remain here, he will need to stand with the defense of Kyoto. Asino Erato Raion who had now for the third time read the letter, slowly approached Yusei's camp. The General sat looking alone at an old map of Mikawa. This was a delicate situation one that was needed to be handled calmly. Yusei looked up, noticing the intruder to his tent. "I bring word from the Shogun. Our army will arrive on schedule, but something has changed," Raion said with discomfort. Yusei motioned him to continue. "With the Tokigawa army nearing Kyoto, the Shogun has decided to send our army here via sea. They will arrive in trade and transport ships and unload near the port. We will need to do something of the port soldiers, they might be able to slow down our invasion." "And what do you suggest then? We can not simply burn the port like we did to the watchtower!" Yusei replied. "I suggest we land the ships near our camp, we can meet them at the shore. Its risky, because I think the warships might notice their arrival." Yusei nodded, and then looked closer at the map, he then stuck out his finger at an area besides Mikawa. "Here, we will land them here!" Yusei exclaimed. "But we would be less then three miles away from the Tokugawa fleet! The fleet!" Raion doubtfully responded. A slow breeze entered the camp, and you here the rattling of the rebel soldiers. "We will be under direct cover from the hills, the Warships wouldn't dare come this close into shallow water. The transports are small enough to sail smoothly through. There we can march into Mikawa." "Um, I suppose that works. Ok, sure we'll do that I guess?" Raion said confused and then slumped out of the tent feeling defeated. He can be the better strategist, but he knows little of the art of battle, Raion thought to himself. |

Note:This takes place the day before the battle, during the battle, and after the battle of the watchtower Abunuj had been told that there was going to be an attack on a watch tower by a different rebellion that the rebellion he joined hoped to ally with. He was given a note from the village elder, in which he finally found the name of it was Haticay. The note just explained about their rebellion and what they were doing in order to get a variety of trained men, and of course followers. He figured he would need it if he were to try and find the leader of the rebellion, in which he didn't know. He had been thinking threw all the possible places that the rebellion would be. Somethings that came to mind were why they were attacking something that could easily be rebuilt, for a very cheap price. The answer was obvious and didn't take long for Abunuj to figure out. They were attacking it to make a statement, to show that they aren't a bunch of stupid people that hope to be like the Tokugawa. He also thought that they were attacking it because it wouldn't take long to get there, and back to their base. This made Abunuj think that their base could be in the forest, and he spent some of the day scouting out for a camp or something, which he didn't find, whoever was their leader who knew his stealth, or did he just get lucky. Late in the day, a few hours or so before the supposed attack would take place he made camp in a forest near the shoreline, not to far away from the watchtower but good enough to stay out of sight. As a former assassin he was very skilled at hiding and being very patient. He made sure he still had his note, he had a gut feeling it may save his life. He went into the Castle Town and bought some food, so he could enjoy the battle with a full stomach. He constantly watched the shoreline, it was beautiful and hard to keep his eyes off of. Then when sun went down he got ready, he knew that there was a chance that he would be involved in the battle, maybe routers would run his way, he could pick many off easily with his bow. He also packed up camp, he planned to follow the rebel army if they won the fight, so he could find the rebel camp and have a friendly conversation with it's leader. If they were to ally together they could maybe, just maybe, make this rebellion a big deal. Then he heard it, the faintest sound of movment from the forest, the battle would soon start, it would be a man slaughter. Abunuj listened to the battle the entire time, or must of the time. He heard men screaming in pain, fire burning from the watchtower, and most importantly, a matchlock shot. He decided that it was time to move in, and see what was going on from a closer angle. When he got there the battle was over, the rebellion one in amazing fashion. This was where his ability in tracking and stealth pay off, he was going to follow the army to where ever their camp was. He had to talk with their leader, maybe join the rebellions together as one. It was his time to stay focused and to get the job done. |

It has been almost a year since the East Trade Company was founded, and the bussiness was flourishing little by little. There were still a lot of hardships. Just a month ago Yuri was killed while trying to establish a trade route. His family received the protection and financial resourses from the ETC. Since that day, the head managers never stepped in personally in solving the problems, but always sent an envoy. However, Lulu's mind was chewing on the latest news. The last trade ship brought some disturbing information. As it was returning with some chinese silk from the south, they stumbled onto two ships in a foggy morning. Luckily they were no warships, just transportiers and also the trade ships were full with silk, and that didn't add much weight, enabling a quick escape. "At first we thought it was the Cosokabe" had said the captain some hours ago. It was very common for the chosokabe ships to cause trouble in the wester trade routes. " But days latter we met the Chosokabe warships way closer, and there was no way they outsailed us. I personally did not distinguish the flag on the ships we met because of the fog, and the oppinions of the sailors diverge, so I cannot guarantee a identification" "Just days ago a Chosokabe army was almost destroyed not far from here, and now this... They will have to shore sooner or later, and considering that the Tokugawa has no friends in the southern waters, this might be bigger issue that also concerns the rulers of this lands." |

Tanimoto finnally reached Mikawa after 2 days of travel. He look up to see that an army was just leaving for the border where news of the Chosokabe have landed. He enters the city to see it lifely and active as if there was no war or rebellion going on. This is what Tanimoto and his men are fighting for. With a sigh as he wish to see his parents among them but both are dead, it brought up painful memories but he quickly pushed them away he had to inform the Daimyo of the Rebellion. "Muchi grab Tobi and let's go. the rest of you go have a good time and have some R and R we will most likely be here for about a week." As Tanimoto said this the men scattered to do their own things. Some to family members that live in Mikawa, some to the Inns, Sake Den, and others that should not be spoken about what they are doing. He knew is men and he knows they won't get to trouble but even so he thinks that they should have more disciplen. As they reached the Castle the guards stop them. "I'm sorry but you can not pass the Daimyo and his officers are discussing on plans for the future" said the right guard. "But we have urgent message for..." quickly said Muchi but was cut off by Tanimoto "We wish to speak to the Daimyo as soon as possible. We will be waitting in the sake den in the meantime please send a messenger of where to meet and at what time please". "We will inform you as soon as the Daimyo is free. And may I ask who are you sir?" ask the left guard. "I'm Arekkusu Tanimoto, a captian and a loyal soldier to the Daimyo" said Tanimoto as he left with Muchi and Tobi still handcuffed. Hirotada was sat in his quarters looking out through the window at the vast city beyond. It had grown considerably over the years and he remembered a time when it was nothing more then a minor town, the only town that the Tokugawa had. His moment of reflection was interrupted by a gentle wrapping at the door. "Enter," Hirotada called out nonchalantly his gaze remaining fixed on the city beyond his window. A messenger entered and bowed despite Hirotada's back being turned on him. "My Lord, there is someone who wants to speak with you, an Arekkusu Tanimoto. It sounds rather urgent," the messenger announced. Hirotada finally turned around to address the messenger. "Who?" He asked. "Arekkusu Tanimoto." The messenger confirmed. "He says he is a Captain in one of our armies." "Very well. I will ensure his name checks out, in the meantime inform him that I will meet with him in the tea room tomorrow at noon." Hirotada turned to face the window once again and waved the messenger out of his room with a flick of his right hand. The messenger bowed and silently left the Daimyo to continue his reflection. Tanimoto entered the tea room exactly at noon. This is the first time he will meet the daimyo even though his father was part of the Royal Guard. He say Hirotada sipping some tea near the back next to the window gazing out. Muchi and Tobi where with him as well but he motion for Muchi to stay back with Tobi. As Tanimoto neared Hirotada he looked up and gave a warm smile as if he is remembering something good that happened. Tanimoto quickly bowed to the Daimyo. "Good afternoon my lord, I'm sorry if i kept you waiting" said Tanimoto. "Don't worry I just also arrived. I see you brought company." Hirotada gave Tanimoto a sucspicious look, "May I ask who they are?". Tanimoto took a seat across the Daimyo "The one on the left is Muchi my second in command and the one on the right is Tobi a Samurai," as he said Samurai Hirotada gave a hard glare at Tanimoto and Tanimoto notice a person from a nearby table get up. "You are correct to be sucspicious but not to worry he is handcuffed," said Tanimoto after he gave a short bow. "Then who is he and why did you bring him?" said Hirotada. "He is part of a Nagoa Clan," said Tanimoto. "Nagoa Clan? I never heard of them," said Hirotada as he took a second look at the black samurai. "He is part of the Black Samurai and they said their Daimyo was once part of the Tokugawa," Tanimoto let out a sigh. "I fear that their is a rebellion uprising is happening" said Tanimoto. Matoki had to admit that the outskirts of Mikawa were beautiful, despite his severe hatred of the daimyo and the Tokugawa. His men were being kept in a safe place for the time being, and the daimyo has likely taken Yuto into custody, leaving it to Chikage to silently make the situation disolve. His feet looked as if they were being sucked into the ground by the tall grass. He had wandered off the road a few hours back, and now the sun was almost down. But he had kept the town in his sights at all times, so he wouldn't get lost. Maybe I should turn around now, he thought. It's getting dark soon. And then he saw it. A sparkle of red, reflecting the trees he stood by. Bending down, he examined it. It was blood. By the looks of things the blood was only a day or so old. It was a battle, he declared. Was Yuto right all this time? Is this rebellion real? There's no mistaking the blood.... He looked around for more evidence of a battle. Flattened grass, weapons, scratches on trees. But there was nothing, just the blood. In the assassiantion attempt he lost all of his weapons, but he had a spare dagger given to him buy Emi. Slowly taking it out, he concealed the blade in his sleeve and followed the trail with caution. He wandered so far into the forest that be began to consider turning back. And then he heard it, the sound of steel on steel. A training camp? He followed the trail more quitely now, advancing until he saw a large wooden fortress. It was surrounded by a thick layer of wooden spikes, but they were quite weak. He advanced closer to the gateway... "Halt, scum!" Someone whispered behind him. The man had a blade to his throat. "Drop your blade." Matoki did as he was told, taken aback by the ambush. "Now tell me who you are." "My name is Matoki-" "What about your family name?" "Hojo." Matoki said. He didn't like to use his family name. The Hojo were a discrace to Japan. "Listen to me, I am on your side, you need to get me to whoever is in charge. I am just as much of an enemy to the Tokugawa as you!" "Silence or I cut your head off." The ninja had hidden in the trees and waited for the right time to strike at the strange wanderer. "Now tell us what your buisness is here." "I followed the blood trail to this fortress. You might want to clean that up before someone that's actually your enemy comes here. If that happens, a couple of ninjas in the trees wont save your revolt. It will be short lived." "Quiet! I'll bring you to the general, and he'll decide what I should do with you." The ninja led Matoki into the fortress and into a war camp. "We have found a man armed walking towards the fortress. He claims to have followed a blood trail." Their general was a very tall man, with grey hair and a lengthy beard. His armor was completely black, and he wore a black cape to top it all off. His eye was covered by a patch, and his face was covered by many scars. A true wartorn man. Not a foolish one either, and it would be hard for Matoki to talk his way out of this one. He would just have to hope for the best and play it out. One thing was for certain though: If this rebellion was the real deal, he wanted in. |

Note:This takes place after my last post Abunuj continued to follow the army threw the forest, listening to soldiers as they talked to each other during rest stops. Whoever the leader was he was well organized, and knew how to get his men to a place fast, and not losing much to dehydration or starvation. Abunuj once considered using some troops that had gone out on a walk as target practice, but thought that it was stupid and decided to just listen. "Yusei has been giving us to many breaks, i just want to get back to camp, you know, some real food would be nice." "Yeah, but he is a good general, he thought of the plan and it worked, we should be thanking him we one" "Yeah, sure, your right, I think we are going again, not to long till we get to camp, once there, oh the food, THE FOOD!" Not to much longer and Abunuj's work would pay off, he would finally get to talk with the leader, this Yusei sounds interesting. After more walking they finally got to the camp. The area was hilly and forestry, of course. The soldiers seemed to just well know this place, and they surrounded a central area, which must be where the leaders of the rebellion placed the tents. Abunuj found a grassy knoll near the small area, he brought his bow, arrows and the note from the elder to give to Yusei, who was obviously the leader, all Abunuj had to do know was wait. Note: This part takes place right after the message from the Shogun came. It was time Abunuj talked with this Yusei character, if he waited any longer he would either die of starvation, or his camp ground where all of his stuff he didn't have with his, including food, was found. He stealthy approached Yusei's tent, which he had heard some interesting news in not to long ago, better he didn't tell Yusei he knew that, in case Yusei disagree and might have had him killed for knowing to much. There where two Samurai Guards in front of the tent. Abunuj decided that they may let him talk with Yusei, but without his bow. He placed those down in the knoll and walked towards the guards. "Hold it right there, what is your busness here stranger" said the guard on the right of the tent, the side that Abunuj was coming from. Abunuj continued to walk, to show that even though he was a stranger he wasn't taking orders from them " I need to talk with one called Yusei, if he is the leader of this rebellion, I have...news for him" The guard on the left motioned to the tent and said"Yusei, are you hearing this, what do you say" And there Abunuj was, waiting for Yusei's response. |

Isamu turned around. "And yet, I had assumed we were hidden. Clearly not." Isamu motioned the guard-ninja to leave and he did so. "So, stranger. You are either very adventurous, stupid or brave to be showing up in my camp. Which trait would you say suits you best eh?" The man simply stood there for some time, not directly answering Isamu's question. "I'm Matoki and I had heard speculations of some rebellion. You should know, I am an enemy of the Tokugawa - and I'd certainly be interested in joining your cause." Isamu thought on those words for a moment. The room was quiet. Eerie. Cold. Isamu pulled out a rather large dagger and - with a serious force - lunged it into a portrait of the current Daimyo - Hirotada. The glass shattered into a thousand pieces and the weaved picture soon crumbled apart. "This man - Hiroatada - claims he can unite Japan under a singular banner and yet all I've seen, in many years, is warmongering. Death. Corruption & greed. He is a traitor! He has not only betrayed the people of Japan, but the one TRUE leader - The Shogunate!" With pure anger in his eyes Isamu continued; "I've no respect for traitors. No respect at all. The blind fools that follow the Tokugawa need to be enlightened. They've somehow allowed themselves to be tricked into following this treacherous clan!" Isamu soon calmed down and sat himself down, motioned Matoki to do the same. "I will not stop until Japan has been purified. Until the Daimyo lays dead! UNTIL THE TOKUGAWA CLAN IS CRUSHED AND THE COUNCIL ANNIHILATED!" "Now Maktoki, you claim you are an enemy of the Tokugawa and the Daimyo. How do I know this? You may be a spy - sent to obtain information - or even make an attempt on my life? Why are you an apparent enemy of the Tokugawa? What have you done?" Edited by King Lemon, 20/10/2011 - 03:13 pm.

Matoki looked up at the man, knowing fully well at this point it was all or nothing. Choosing his words very carefully, he began. "A rebellion this covert couldn't be done unless you have some kind of leverage against the daimyo. People on the inside, for instance. Someone placed high enough to give you enough information without raising suspisions on his side. We both know this to be the truth. I want you to contact your inside man, and tell him to talk to a metsuke in the town named Emi. Depending on how high in the government this man is placed, he will surley know who Emi is. Tell him Emi is on our side. Emi will tell you all you need to know about me and what has happened to me to bring me here. Do what you wish of me until then, but get it done. When we have settled that, my men are at your service. I would do whatever I possibly can to help you take Mikawa." |

Yusei had heard the conversation between Isamu and Matoki, getting up from his seat he made his way over. Once Matoki had finished, he spoke, "Isamu-sama, is this a way to gather more men for our cause, a first impression must always be the best." Turning his gaze towards Matoki, he bowed and spoke loudly,"Matoki-sama, a pleasure to have this meeting. I am interested in the aid you offer to us. However, I would like to first make a clarification." He stopped and took notice of the other visitor who had entered the camp. Motioning with his hand, the two guard moved forward flanking Abunuj. Yusei spoke slowly, observing Abunuj as he spoke,"I extend my greetings to you as well." Stopping, his eyes shifted towards the ground as he reached for a piece of koku. Koku in hand Yusei finally continued,"You wonder to some extent my goals, my plans, and my motivations I assume. Look at this koku, pure not damaged, two sided. Both sides may mean nothing in reality, but philosophically think of each side as a different choice. On one side is the path of retribution, remaining upon the path of good, even willingly surrendering to the greater evil of the times. On the other is a darker path, willing to commit evil to destroy the evil. Just like a piece of koku, both sides are the same and equal." The three looked in bewilderment, contemplating Yusei's philosophy. Returning to his talk,"Now I had served the Tokugawa as Kensei, believing in Hirotada to unite Japan to bring peae and destroy the evils of war. I realize now that I was wrong, The Head Priestess, Fujiko, is deluded in her own self righteous views. She is opinionated and idealistic a plague which has infected and clouded Hirotada's judgement. She is the cause of suffering, Hirotada is beyong saving. Death to Hirotada, death to Fujiko, death to the Tokugawa. They are hypocrits, idealists, believing they are right." "I lead this rebellion to unify Japan, bring brothers together, unite fathers with their sons. This is only the beginning. I intend to challenge the Tokugawa, a major power. I will succeed as long as you are dedicated and devoted to my cause." His gaze shifted heavily towards the two. The air was swirling around them, the intensity of the Black Shogun, as he is going to be reffered as. Yusei spoke slowly and softly,"Knowing this, knowing that following me can lead to death or worse do you vow to serve me. This is a road you cannot turn back from. JOIN ME AND UNITE AND FREE JAPAN!" He awaited their answer. |
