Isamu sighed heavily. "And myself along with my Black Riders will stand by you every step of the way. You've more than proven yourself to me, Yusei. I trust you enough to lead us to glory, freedom and purification. I suppose I had not realized the extent and complexity of our situation. It seems then, gentlemen, that we aren't only dealing with one corrupted, misguided man. The entire council must be eliminated." Isamu stood up and poured some fresh tea into each mans cup. "Together then, we shall unite Japan. Together we shall purify the corruption and stop the plague of injustice and dictatorship. Those that stand against us - the blinded peoples and the overly arrogant Tokugawa War Council - need to be destroyed. The Shogunate himself has offered us aid and assistance. We should not ignore this much needed help, we'd be fools not to accept it. Even now, I suspect our 'glorious' Daimyo is eying up Kyoto. The man shows no respect and he never will!" "Matoki-sama, apologies for acting the way I did. The stress looming over me at current is.... shall we say, tough. I'm not used to this. There are certainly no hard feelings toward you or your company. Now gentlemen if you'll excuse me, I must speak with the Shogunate's Agent. I've kept him waiting long enough. Perhaps we could continue our discussion later?" After saying his goodbye's to Yusei and Matoki-sama, Isamu rushed off to meet up with the Shogunate Agent. He soon found him sitting beside a tree, sipping some Sake. "Greetings. I am Isamu-sama. Commander to The Black Riders and a general amongst The Black Samurai. Please.... Come to my personal tent where we may discuss things in private." And with that, the two shady men wondered off into Isamu's personal tent. A serious discussion was to take place. |

The fleet moved slowly and stealthy. It was a sight to behold, 653 men sat aboard unnoticed on the civilian transport ships. The blue sea stretched to the north for miles and to the east was the homeland of the Tokugawa. 250 miles ahead was camp, and a future undecided. General Asino Erato turned to his second in command, and ordered him to double their current speed, they needed to arrive at the right place at the right time. Kyoto was in danger, Asino did not doubt that. But the fall of Mikawa could send the Tokugawa to its needs with an eventual invasion of the coast with help from their Eastern islands. The time of war was soon approaching... |

"So I'm covered, yes?" Isamu spoke with concern. The agent laughed, "Yes, General Isamu. You are covered. A place has already been reserved for you amongst our ranks and, should anything go badly wrong with your current plans, we would be glad to accept your recruitment application. You would be enlisted as General then likely promoted." Isamu smiled. "Good. A backup plan is always necessary. I can't help but to notice; I'm working with amateurs. The whole watchtower incident was a small occurrence - one barely worthy of being called even a raid. It wasn't really worth it considering the outcome. If Yusei wanted to merely get their attention, then why not concentrate on attacking a trading point? - It would cripple The Tokugawa ever so slightly and get the Daimyo's attention - though I suppose what's done is done. Nothing good will come of this for a while yet I'd say." "Isamu, try not to worry. I'm sure your colleagues will do well enough. Yusei may not be a strategist mastermind, though he is certainly worthy of leading this rebellion. I do however, understand what your saying. Many doubt this rebellion will be successful - people are talking in the local Sake's and even the streets." "Hmph. Rebellion? This is far from that. I'm starting to think this is merely a cover up. Someones seriously angry at the Daimyo and wants help to kill him. A personal grudge, you understand? - Not something I am or want to be apart of. Grudges are pointless. You kill the man you want dead, then what? You crumble apart and die quickly - then the next lunatic go's on a revenge rampage and we are back in the same vicious, pathetic circle again. It wont end until someone stops it." Isamu was getting tense. He didn't want to go to war with the superpower of Japan because someone had a tantrum and wants their revenge. "Anyway, it was good speaking with you. I'm afraid however, I must leave. I need to meet up with a contact in Mikawa tonight. Please could you tell the Shogunate of my secondary plans - also, let the TRUE emperor know that I'm supporting him all the way." With that, Isamu showed the agent out and he himself also left his camp, leaving Jajami in command. Isamu was to meet up with Matoki-sama's metsuke in Mikawa. He needed confirmation that Matoki was indeed who he says he is. A high lord would prove useful for the rebellion and so, Isamu was eager to recruit him into the cause. Isamu made it. Alive. He was completely covered up in dark robes with only his personal katana - sheathed- with him. His hood concealed his true identity well enough. |

Matoki had waited for nearly 4 nights now. General Isamu had him held in a rather comfortable room with a decent bed and a view of the training grounds, which was nice. However, Matoki knew that until they had confirmation that he was on their side, he was in nothing but a cell. They had given him a few scrolls to pass the time and he had a servant to bring him tea, water, and food when he desired it. He read about the Watchtower Battle and went over battle plans in his mind about how to proceed with the movement of troops. However, if his story didn't check out, he knew that his friendly servant would probably have orders to kill him. Isamu returned to him at midday with a smile. "Well, Matoki, it seems that your story has checked out. Your metsuke friend has told me the truth of the matter, and my source within the Tokugawa government confirms that a man named Yuto has been in the custody of the Daimyo for a few days and under extreme interrogation." Matoki smiled. "I'm glad to hear that everything has went well. My men have been hidden in a safe place in Mikawa. I have about 50 very well trained men at my disposal. They are all now going to support the cause of the rebllion. Our next move would be bringing my men here, where they are best served. However the one problem is that a party of 50 men will not easily make it so far beyond Mikawa's walls. Not with the city guard on such high alert after the watchtower battle. I would need to move them a few at a time. I fear that battle will soon be coming once again, so we must move quickly. Is there anything else you wish to discuss, General Isamu?" |

Hirotada listened to what Tanimoto had to say. When the guest had finished he took a sip of tea. "Nagao clan? Black Samurai? Nothing more then fanciful names for a group of deluded individuals. I have had my suspicions for some time and have been making preparations for such an occurrence. You have merely confirmed those suspicions. I will not have disorder in my lands at such a crucial time." Hirotada set his bowl of tea down with such force that it cracked causing the last of the tea to seep out onto the floor. "I have been preparing a defensive force via my security council. I have checked out your credentials Tanimoto, you are indeed a loyal Tokugawa solider and clansmen, we need more of your sort in these times. Thus far you have done well working on your own, you probably know more about this so called rebellion then most. Therefore I am inviting you to join my security council. You will work with the members already present, disseminate your knowledge to them in order to fully prepare for what is coming. You seem like the perfect man to work together with the other council members in leading my force against this insult. So, will you assist you clan and your Daimyo?" Hirotada stared at Tanimoto waiting for his reply. |

Tanimoto was surprised at the news. He didn't hear anything about a security council or anything. "I would be happy to join," said Tanimoto. "But I would like to ask a few questions before you leave. Some about the Security council and others about what I found. Like what do you know of this Red Dragon," as Tanimoto pulled out the Katana and set it on the table and moved it towards Hirotada. "And who is in charge of this Security Council and who are part of it at this moment?" said Tanimoto. "And let me bring Tobi over to tell you what information he told me" He motion his hand to draw Tobi over. "Now Tobi told Hirotada what you told me-" just as he said this Tobi's handcuffs flashed forward towards the Hirotada but before anyone reacted Hirotada grabbed the Katana in front of him and cut of the hands of Tobi. Tobi screamed and fell to the floor crying in pain. Muchi came over and quickly stopped the bleeding to prevent a mess on the floor. Once the bleeding has stop Muchi gave Tobi a kick in the face to punish him. "You should be more polite in front of the Daimyo" said Muchi as he moved away. "I'm sorry about that, I thought we secured him completely," apologized Tanimoto. "Not to worry," said Hirotada "Now let's see if he will cooperate now" as he gave a stern stare at Tobi "now speak". Tobi told everything that he told Tanimoto to Hirotada. After he finish he blurted "We will have your head when this is over Hirotada. We will destroy Mikawa and you burning in the evening sun." As he said this Tanimoto punched him in the face knocking him out cold. "Now take him to the Dungen" said Hirotada as one of his guards picked up Tobi and dragged him to the dungen. "Well that was event for now about your questions....." said Hirotada. |

(Sorry I’ve delayed this for so long, I’ve not had a great deal of inspiration recently and I don’t like doing posts without anyway, read TotalWarKinight’s post a while ago as it’s what I’m responding to if you can’t remember it. I already knew what the guards would know and what has actually happened to Motohisa but the actual writing requires some inspiration as well as free time, free time is lacking these days sadly.) Swinging open, a short brawny samurai emerged from behind the door to Motohisa’s mother’s house. The house was situated near some farms in the country side in Mikawa province. Sun beamed down that day and the wildlife could be heard all around. The samurai who was at the entrance to the house was Tanda Brunkon, one of the members of Motohisa’s guards, armed with his katana on his back ready to be used if needed. “Who are you and what do you want?” the samurai boomed “we don’t get many visitors these days here”. |

Hirotada took a moment to compose himself after the brief incident that had just occurred. "I do not know anything about this Red Dragon symbol, it does not look like the mon of any clan I have come across before. As for the security council, all will become apparent when you arrive. Rest assured all the people in the council are working towards the same objective; protecting Mikawa from coming to harm at the hands of those that seek to cause chaos in our prosperous lands." Hirotada rose to his feet and dusted off his Kimono which had become slightly spattered with blood. "I'm afraid I must go now, please head to the security council chambers as soon as you are able. Take the katana with you, I'm sure between you all, you should be able to find out more about this Dragon symbol. Finish you tea, do not rush on my account." With a slight nod of his head, Hirotada indicated that he had finished with his guests and he made his way towards the exit of the tea room. |

Tanimoto watched as Hirotada and his guards left the tea house. Tanimoto chuckled to himself "He never really answered my question. Well I guess I will have to find out myself." Muchi came over and said "should I inform the men?". "Yes I will head to see this security council and see how organized they are. For some reason I feel like something bad is about to happen," said Tanimoto with a sigh. Muchi left to go spread the word while Tanimoto head to the security council. |

Another year had passed. The tokugawa lands were an excelent choice in establishing a new commercial empire, and it was very sucessful. By now, The East Trade Company was a monopoly, even though it wasn't officialy recongised as one. Almost all the intercities and naval trade routes were now held by the ETC. Lulu sat at his mansion's balcony. It was a warm sunset and a dark red european wine stood ready to be savored. However the peacfull and relaxing atmosphere was interrupted when a message came. Lulu already knew it's content. Some trade goods must have been pillaged by the rebels, and this was far from being the first time. It has to end. - Bring me the finest goods we have, they will be gifts for Hirotada. |

Isamu sat in his camp contemplating. Thinking about the current situation, stargazing - the night was glorious. The stars shined beautifully and the moon was out in it's largest form. "Such beauty, no?" Isamu asked, calmly. Jajami smiled. "Indeed. Yet, I find it hard to imagine YOU having an eye for beauty...." Isamu laughed. "Don't make any presumptions, captain." Isamu stood up: "You see, Jajami. Beauty is all around us: the wonderful forests, the clear oceans & the clear night sky. All amazing wonders.... but for how long? Japan is being torn apart by warlords - and they will not stop until they've won - The Tokugawa - Hiratoda - a man so capable and yet so foolish. The Shogunate - god bless him - is just as bad, though at least he is pure. A true leader. Worthy." "This so called 'rebellion' is a cover up. I'm being made to like a fool! Yusei and his band of merry men are merely using us. He wants the Daimyo dead - but not for good of Japan - rather, his own personal gain. Blinded by revenge Yusei has gone mad with anger and I will no longer be used. By the gods, I shouldn't have let this happen. What have I done? I've betrayed the one man I swore oaths to protect until my dying day. Hmph. God have mercy on your soul, Hiratoda." "The Shogunate warned me about Yusei and his warped ideals and I just shunned his advice!-" - Isamu was interrupted, however. Jajami stood up: "What are you saying? - you're going to just leave the rebellion? Betray our allies?" Isamu started to get enraged. "DON'T PATRONIZE ME BOY! - I'VE BEEN IN MANY BATTLES - NONE OF THEM PLEASANT. We aren't betraying a bloody ally! - They're using us. THEIR USING ME! - ME!!! - THE ONE EYED GENERAL. I SHOULD HAVE THAT TREACHEROUS DEGENERATE'S HEAD ON A SPIKE! - I'm not going to stand by why Yusei and his crazed, blinded followers destroy everything around me. The foolish man can have his tantrum and his stupid rebellion - he'll only get himself, along with everyone else killed in the end. A foolish move with no good outcome." Jajami saluted. "And I'm right behind you, general. As always. But.... The Tokugawa will not take us back and now we are leaving the rebellion. We've nowhere else to turn my lord!" Isamu grinned. An evil smile - one that would send shivers down ones spine - soon crept along Isamu's mouth. "You're wrong, Jajami. You see - The Shogunate doesn't really care for this overrated 'rebellion'. He's been contacting me since I declared the Tokugawa an enemy and we've become quiet good friends over the past months. He's come to rely on my agents in the Tokugawa government and our cavalry might in battle. We will go to Kyoto and assist The Shogunate in defending his last province. That is the day I will die - a proud and loyal servant to The Shogunate. A glorious moment. I do not fear death - I embrace it!" Isamu made his way into the center of camp and did his speech: "Men! Warriors! Black Riders! - The decision I've made has an impact on us all. Tonight we leave this pathetic rebellion! One man - Yusei - has gone mad with revenge. His interests do not meet our own! He is nothing more than a man that has lost everything - he will be relentless in trying to bring down the Tokugawa and the Daimyo. Good luck to him as well! - Only a fool go's fighting with a superpower with nothing more than untrained amateurs behind you. So you're all wondering - where are we to turn? - The answer is simple! THE SHOGUNATE! WE RIDE FOR KYOTO TONIGHT! PACK UP CAMP IMMEDIATELY!" The entire army cheered Isamu and got on with their duties as commanded. As Isamu got down from the stand, The Black Samurai Ambassador approached him with obvious anger: "You've no right to do this! You're a traitor! The rebellion will crush you into the sands! You're making the biggest mistake of your life, general." Isamu - very quickly & very skillfully - pulled out his personalized Katana and lunged it straight into the gut of the Ambassador. He screeched in pain as blood spewed out from the open wound. Isamu grabbed the Ambassadors head and whispered: "If you somehow manage to survive you little worm, pass on a message - If the armies of this pathetic rebellion attempt to track me down, I will wage open war against them and their leader will be murdered in cold blood. No one uses me and gets away with it!" Isamu then shoved the Ambassador, barely alive, onto the floor. The camp was pretty much cleared up and all men were on their horses. Tonight, Isamu and his Black Riders ride to Kyoto. |

"ISAMU IS GONE! HOW HAS THIS HAPPENED! NO, this can't be true!" Raion screamed. Seckea turned his head towards Raion. "I do not lie Commander, we have been betrayed. He must be punished for his actions or else he will be a threat to our authority. We would be wise to stop him," Seckea responded in awe of Raion's words. "My master is lost and confused, he does not know the Shogun has almost accepted defeat. If he still had hope he would never of sent over his reinforcement army. He is walking into his own death trap, we must let him be. He will be at peace, but defeated as well. Isamu's loss will be a blow to our effort but the Shogun even in death would want this. I have a plan, when Mikawa falls I will strike down Yusei and take up this rebellion by myself. When the Tokugawa pull their troops out to save their most valuable cities, they will arrive only to the presence of rubble. We will burn their cities to the very foundation of which they stand. Then they will begin their search to find us, while our western allies capture province after province of their undefended cities. With Hirotida dead, the great Generals of the Tokugawa will erupt in a power struggle, and the final blow of the Tokugawa will be dealt. With enough manpower we shall rise up again and replace the old Shogun under the banner of a new. And I, I will be Shogun. I shall avenge Isamu, and lead Japan to a new golden era. But first Mikawa must burn, it must burn..." "I will obey every command, General." Then at that very moment something peaked over the horizon of the ocean around them. In the distance were six or seven large ships, costumed in passenger ships. Noticing that something had cought Raions eye, Seckea turned around. Seckea turned back at Raion who was grinning. "The time has come my friend. They are here!" |

Motohisa, former Tatami Master of the Tokugawa, was riding a former farmer’s horse. Dressed in some simple, yet clean, peasant clothing Motohisa carried on at his calm, gentle pace while gazing at the great city of Mikawa itself. How much the city had changed, Motohisa thought to himself, the work he had begun seems to have finally finished. A proud smile crept onto his face. At Motohisa’s side was Tanchi Kagna, captain of Motohisa’s guard. In Kagna’s hand was a blade, not a katana, and he too was mounted on a farmer’s horse and dressed in poor yet clean peasant garb. Motohisa owed his life to Kagna, just like Kagna owned his life to Motohisa. Allowing himself to relax for the first time in years, Kagna reflected over the time that had passed since his capture. Behind these two, trailed a large amount of farmers, approximately 50, as well as a few Ronin ,there were 5 of them. The Ronin were armed well just like actual Samurai. The farmers on the other hand carried mainly Swords but a few still had farming instruments as their weapons. Armour wise, some farmers had leather on but most were still in their dirty, smelly, grubby working cloths. However, despite the unorganised manner in which this force moved, they had managed to scare off any opportunists who would have tried to capture two lone men, so the role of these farmers proved crucial. Arriving at the city gates, Kagna and Motohisa dismounted and hailed the guards, while their farmer escort stayed back away from the city. Perplexed at the strange force that was approaching them, momentarily the guards stood wide eyed. One of them managed to break out of his paralysis and say “Who are you?” “I am Takesun Motohisa, former Tatami Master or maybe still the Tatami Master, and I have some information for the Daimyo that I believe he would wish to hear. So I would request that you get me a meeting with him and maybe his council if he so desires as well as anyone else he thinks should hear what I have to say. The news I have is urgent so arranging a meeting as soon as possible is of high importance. If he wishes to know how I got this information, tell him you learn many things while locked up in a Hattori cell.” Having finished lecturing the guards, the guard who spoke quickly ran off to try and arrange a meeting with the Daimyo while Motohisa stood outside the city, waiting for the man to return. |

Isamu mounted his beloved steed -Shadow- and lead The Black Riders out into the open plains. "Men! - I'm expecting trouble on our journey to Kyoto. Things have taken a turn for the worst. The people that were once loyal to me have likely betrayed us! - I suspect we will encounter numerous peoples from both the Rebellion and the Tokugawa. Your orders are simple: slaughter anyone that gets in your way. No one can be trusted!" Isamu then lead his mercenary group - The Black Riders - to Kyoto. The journey wasn't that bad actually which was surprising considering the high level of security in and around Mikawa province. It would appear Isamu's group and their part in the whole watchtower incident wasn't big news. A good thing considering the amount of patrols they encountered. One patrol however, wasn't so stupid - or at least as stupid - and did stop Isamu on is way out of Mikawa. "Halt!" the leader bellowed. "This area is currently under the protection of the security council. We'll need your name along with some other information. Don't worry, sir. This is simply for security purposes. There's a rebellion going on you understand." Isamu laughed. "Yes, guardsmen. There is. My name is Isamu Masao. High lord to the Masao private lands and establishments, ex cavalry general to your armies and current commander of The Black Riders - my group. Now, I'm not as stupid to reveal my destination. You can tell your security council that they can mind their own business. My doings are private. The Black Riders do not answer to your Daimyo - with respect - nor do we answer to your council." The guardsmen paused for a moment. Thinking. "Wait... YOUR Isamu Masao?!? I've orders to arrest you immediately!" Isamu laughed again. "CHARGE!" Isamu yelled. The unfortunate man standing in Isamu's way was crushed as 300 men - on horseback - trampled over him. The patrol was on foot and couldn't catch up with Isamu's Black Riders. They continued on their way to Kyoto - nearly at Mikawa's borders - staying ever alert and constantly looking for people who feel the need to interfere with their business. |

"My god! That is not a fleet of 600! Its a fleet of 800! The Shogun has sent 750 MEN!" Raion shouted in joy. A small patrol unit had wandered into the Rebels area recently, getting completely smashed by a group of Yusei's Rebels. Seckea was watching the glorious sight, as the fleet drew within two hundred yards of the shore, still covered by the surrounding hills. Raion stared and chuckled, bring forth my troops we shall greet the fleet with open arms!" Raion along with 26 of his men marched torwards the fleet just as they touched shore. Suddenly, sixteen Samurai warriors emerged from the ships and hoped off as the rest remained in cover of the passenger ships. One of them, who seemed to be the commander approached Raion and Seckea. "May I speak to your commanding officer good sir," politley asked the Samurai. "Well you found him," Raion replied, smiling at the man. "Are you General Yusei?" responded the Samurai who was now signaling several of his troops forward. "My name is General Raion, me and Yusei are the commanders of this rebellion. Come to my tent, Yusei is busy now." "Oh, I must not. I am only the leader of a small samurai division. I am here just to make sure this area is secure for our landing. My superior will meet you in the Head Quarter Tent. We have much to discuss. My name is Youang by the way, in case you were wondering." HQ tent was a rather large area, with large tables for feasts and supper. Raion sat at the very end of the table tapping his finger, he was nervous and eager. With four of his assistance besides him including Seckea who was slurping down on his soup. The tent door opened as three men entered the tent and took their seats. One of them was clearly the commanding officer, and he waitied for the other two to sit before he spoke. "Greetings comrade, my name is General Asino Erato. I was the former personal General of the Shogun. We were sent here on order of Isamu and Raion. And who do I have the honor of being in the precense with." Such fake deliciouses, fake greetings, and fake exchanges, but Raion decided to play along. "I am General Raion, Co-commander of our Rebellion here. I'm afraid Isamu has gone mad, but I assure you the situation is under control. General Yusei, our 1st in Command is currently busy, so you may take up any questions with me General." The Shogun's General sat down and calmly took a sip of his tea. When he was done he sat it down and sighed. "Isamu's current condition is quite a shame I suppose, but we must continue on with our plan. We left Kyoto with around 650 troops under the Shogun's direct command. We intercepted a Tokugawa prison ship on the way and welcomed any Prisoners of War aboard our ranks. We have arrived with the manpower requested, now what will you do with them?" "We have devised a plan. We don't desire to hold Mikawa and the Southern border, just cause some damage. We are going to burn the South, leave no survivors. This will drive the Enemy forces out of Central Japan allowing our allies to the east to recapture our territories. Then we will kill Hirotida, and the Tokugawa will erupt into civil war..." The General smiled and ordered his troops to prepare. |
