Yusei was taken aback by Raion, his first advised contact. The man had shoved him into the back of the sake den. Just when people started to notice, a crowd formed around them, hoping for a bar fight. Just then one of the men yelled out,"Is that the former Kensei, I hear he's a wanted criminal!" Even more people began to turn their gaze towards Yusei and Raion. He thought fast and yelled back,"The Kensei is dead, he drowned in a river near the border. I saw it with my own eyes, as I was the one watching him. Get back to your own business." Yusei leaned in near Raion, a bit discontent,"Not very discreet are you, you shouldn't draw attention to yourself. For the moment, I am working on getting the Black Samurai and the Nagao Clan into Kyoto, I still have things to do in Mikawa, lest make my name and goal clear to the Daimyo. You and Isamu must meet me outside the nearest watchtower, that is where we will strike. Bring any troops loyal to you as well. I am awaiting one more person, and then I shall head out. What say you?" |

"Your plan to draw attention might come back to bite you, but for now the element of surprise as clearly already failed us. I will take my personal assistances and the Black Riders to the watchtower with Isamu. If we shall truly strike fear in the hearts of our enemies we would be wise to turn the watchtower into ash, and the soldiers to corpse. I will meet you their when the time is right, do not do anything foolish." Wasting no time to create further tension, Raion dashed out of the Sake Den to inform his master. |

It's been 10 days since Tanimoto and his company of men have found the tracks of those 800 men. The council at Owari have decided that Tanimoto just saw 800 of Tokugawa leaving to take on the Hattori army in the north but Tanimoto knew what he saw. As his men returned to the border to finish their patrol Tanimoto contimplated of what that army was. If it was a Tokugawa force of 800 then he would have got word from his superiors about it. It might just have been a Hattori raiding party taking out nearby villages and ports. Knowing that the council at Owari have never been caring for the small villages in the area so for a few to disappear they view as nothing to worry about. But that kon that Tanimoto found still bothered him as pulled it out of his pack to study it closer. He noticed that it has the same coloring as the Hattori but the red was a bit darker then it should. Also the symbol in the center was a different but when he poored water on it to get rid of some smudge the entire mon started to wipe off. This surpised Tanimoto greatly for he knew that mons where sewed into armor or painted permanently. So someone was framing the Hattori but who? "Captian, the black riders approaches!" yelled one of his men distracting his conencration from the now peice of black cloth. Off in the distance were the Black riders but they are heading for the border. Tanimoto decided to intercept them to ask whats going on. As Tanimoto intercepted the cavalry Isamu approached him from the middle of the group. "Greetings Tanimoto-san why are you blocking the path" ask Isamu Tanimoto bowed to this men not because he is superior in rank for they are both captians but because to hope toopen him up. "I'm sorry to bother you Isamu-sama but I was wondering why are you heading for the border?" "To investigate some movement that was seen bye one of the daimyo's spys." "Then how come I wasn't informed in Owari?" "Even though we are the same rank I'm part of a special forces so need this information." With this in mind Tanimoto decided to let them pass and the Black Riders started heading for the border again but unknown to Tanimoto there was a great smirk on Isamu's face as he headed for the border. |

Isamu swiftly rode past the road blockade, thinking nothing of it. He wasn't concerned that the captain was aware of the situation, not that he would care if he was. Plans were in full swing now. With his Black Riders riding close behind him, Isamu was nearing his destination. An old watchtower near the borders. He saw Raion in the distance, hiding in the shadows. Likely waiting for Yusei. A messenger had informed Isamu in private, that a meeting is taking place today and that all soldiers loyal to the rebellion were to meet. Isamu was eager to hear what the former Sword Master had to say. This was a great moment. Finally, Isamu will be recognized as a General, instead of a mere soldier. He told his Black Riders to wait on the raised terrain. Just to be safe. He did not know Yusei personally and is currently wary of betrayal. Isamu dismounted his noble steed, Shadow, and motioned his elite guard to stay put. "So, Raion. Tell me what has transpired. I have been informed we are currently waiting for Yusei and the others? Also, The Shogunate's agent contacted me last night. It would appear he is very interested in taking down the Tokugawa. He would like nothing more than to have those treacherous dogs annihilated! Reinforcements of The Shogunate are marching to a meeting point. My Black Riders will also meet up with them when the time is right, though for now they will stay with us. They will prove to be very useful if something nasty occurs." Isamu then motioned Raion to fill him in on the details. |

(Just to put this in a time setting, this is happening after the Sake den but before the meeting of everyone) Twinkling in the sky, the stars gazed down upon the meeting point. A full moon beamed down its light onto the forest. Flowing through the forest was a tranquil stream. Salty air wafted in from the nearby sea. The night was silent, only the rustling of leaves in the gentle wind could be hear and the quite noise of a few insects. Inside the forest, a man stood, dressed in a black hooded robe, a katana on his back and black deer hide boots on his feet. Motionlessly he stood, waiting. |

Yusei walked through the forest, his samurai armor now completely blac. His Kabuto Helmet covering his left eye. It was in this very forest that he was reborn after exile. Reborn to destroy the Tokugawa for wanting to continue bringing chaos to the land. He had worked so hard to help the Tokugawa achieve unification, and they betray him. As he walked along the very river he was thrown in, he breathed in the fresh air of the tranquil night. Yusei's contact was supposed to meet him around here. As continued a bit more, he found his contact standing, waiting patiently. He walked over the man, obviously seeing him. He said,"The weak man says hello." The man's voice was dry, no emotion behind it, portraying a sense of character, Yusei took this fact in. "And the strong man says victory!" The man still stood there, his face shrouded in darkness of his hood and the night. Yusei continued,"If I am correct, you will be able to supply arms and armor for my men. If you can do this I will be very happy. However, I must see top of the line craft. To prove this, I expect a matchlock weapon and a fire bomb to be sent outside the old watchtower on the border. Are we in agreement?" |

Isamu was ready, he was indeed eager to move out and attack. So Raion began speaking eagerly to his Master. "Yusei wants to get the attention of the dayimo. So we will strike quickly, and efficiently. There is a watchtower south of here with about 15 soldiers, or at least 15 soldiers I have seen. The Ex-Kensi believes that this could be a good opportunity to gather the eyes of the Tokugawa. He wants this done cleanly; I don’t think the Shogun would agree with him. We will burn the watchtower and throw the bodies of the soldiers into the fire. We would be wise to send a message to our opponents. He will join the attack when ready; he told me he has some business to take care of. Take the entirety of the black riders, arm three of them with torches. They will ride with me; the rest of the fight will be up to Yusei and yourself. When the fight is over, we will take all of our recruits and march to the meeting point. I have also been informed that the Hattori will see us safe passage, they do not know we work for the Shogun but they are quite encouraged that our role is to tear down the Tokugawa. When we have our full army we will march to the Kyoto. There we will meet with the Shogun himself, master. And when the time is right we shall march at the Tokugawa. |

It was impossible to make out the man’s mouth moving, his entire head was in a shroud of darkness created by the hood he wore. “Easily done” his emotionless voice replied “but I can do much more than that. I would also deliver a few of our weapons which are the sharpest you have ever seen, created by our master smith with painstaking time and effort. We even have some armour available, although this is much harder to craft but it shall provide unsurpassed protection to the wearer. Now, I have something else to tell you, it’s not just equipment we can provide but assistance in other aspects. My Shadow Samurai shall be at your service, and my ninja are among the best in the whole of Japan. We can cause chaos before our rebellion has even begun. Now, this does not come at a small price for me, I have been waiting my entire life to use these resources and while I waited I built them up. My father and his father and my entire family have dedicated their lives to this, long before the Tokugawa ever even showed any signs of power. You must do something for me, you must marry my daughter. She shall bear your children. You may take your pick out of who you want as your wife out of my two daughters, I have one who is 40 years of age and another who is 25 years of age. I’m sure you’re wondering who those shadow samurai are that I spoke of before, I shall not reveal my secrets but I shall say they are stealthy men who can fight extremely well and they have the reflexes of the cat, a terrifying opponent for anyone.” The man then stood silent, and waited. |

Yusei laughed,"Hahahaha, you are clever. Assuring that I don't betray you, you offer up your daughter in a marriage. This way I am forced to take the deal. I like you already. I will take the 25 year old daughter." "Now, I expect your troops and the matchlock and fire bomb to be outside of the old watchtower. I will go there now. We can talk marriage afterwards." Yusei whistled for his horse, the leaves crackled around him as the horse arrived. Turning to leave Yusei said,"Pleasure doing business with you." |

“I look forward to our next meeting” the man said, as emotionless as always. “I shall also bring my daughter with me next time, the sooner you know each other the better. You can expect five of my men to arrive with me, just to give you a taste of their power, and the equipment will be delivered at that time as promised. Goodbye, oh and before I forget, my name is Wano” Having said that, Wano stood motionless and watched Yusei ride off. |

Yusei rode like the wind, allowing the cool autumn night to relax his heated body. In the distance was the old watchtower that stood at the beginning of the day the Tokugawa almost got destroyed. Now it will be used as a testament to the might of the Black Samurai. 15 guards vow to defend the tower with their life, a failure will result in an enemy walking in unnoticed. He rode to a rise overlooking the tower, in the distance was Isamu and the Black Riders. Yusei rode up to Isamu. "Isamu-sama, a great chance to finally meet you. I assure you that you can put your trust in me. In fact I have a few surprises in store." "Now General Isamu-sama, you are wondering how you will be treated in the Black Samurai, then I will tell you. You will be General of the Front in the Black Samurai. You will be in charge of fighting alongside your men in battle, and carrying out my strategy. Thus, I will rely on your tactical strength to win a battle. You can rely on my strategical genius in return." "Your troops will bear the front of the enemy's defenses. Ride fast and strike hard, the enemy will most likely want to alert the main garrison and patrol of our plan, Raion and a small group of my forces will head up and stop the signaling. From there, my men will launch the surprise on the nearby patrol that will hear the battle going on. It is a clear victory, any thoughts on how your team will go about doing their job?" |

Befor Isamu could even form the words in his mouth a vouce spoke not to far away. "And what about me, had you not seen me yet?" Said a man Draped in black leaning on a nearby tree. "It was hard trying to find you." He spoke again. Yusei turned around slowly and looked at this man with no emotion on his face. "And you are?" Yusei proceeded There was silence and then finaly the man spoke, his hood hiding his face. "Im sorry I would rather not give away my name, since it does not suit my line of work." "And what may your line of work be?" said Yusei. Iterested in what this man had to say. "Im many things," he said, "Spy, assassin and even a person who likes to blow things up now and then." He walked forward alittle. "But please finish your convesation, ill be nearby if you want to talk plans with me, for I am iterested in your plans." And with that the man bowed and walked away into some nearby trees. Edited by Lovetotalwar, 11/10/2011 - 06:37 am.

Matoki slamed his tea on the counter, anger shining in his eyes. Emi Daichi was a Metsuke currently stationed in Mikawa, and was an old friend of Matoki. This meeting was as covert as possible, nobody was to know that it was going on. "Matoki, think this through. If someone tried to assassinate you, don't you think they would've fled the city right away?" "Don't give me that crap, Daichi. Whoever did this didn't expect me to still be alive, so he had no reason to escape the town. Now the assassins have been assasinated. Before the news even reached this bastard, the town was locked down. Nobody let in and nobody let out. You know more than anyone that the Tokugawa is in the middle of a war against the Shogun, not to mention whispers of rebellion everywhere you turn. you're trained to find assassins, now find my assassin and deliver him to me. For old time's sake. And if that isn't good enough for you, I have a few gold koku in a safe place I would love to give you if this guy has anything good to tell me. I've given you everything you need to find him. A description and promise of coin." The metsuke sighed. "I will do as you ask, Matoki. Because you are a friend. I hope you find what you are looking for from this guy. I'll see what I can do and contact you as soon as I find something." Matoki watched as he got up and left, finishing his tea slowly. The next few days went by quicker than he had thought. He entertained himself while listening to the rumours some talk about in the street. Some say it's the Kensei Master that's still alive and gathering men. Some say the army is being supported by the Shogun. Some even say that the Tatami Master is behind it all. Emi got back to him a few days later. "What did you find?" Matoki asked anxiously. "I found your guy," he replied. "A bit of poison in his tea knocked him out. He should wake up when it gets dark. Matoki, I must warn you, this man is tough. It will take more than words to break him." "Your fist is even more powerful than my mouth, and you know I have a way with words." Smiling, Matoki let Emi lead him to the man. He was being held in an empty, dark building with no candles or fire to warm it in the night. And yet, Matoki couldn't help but feel like he was going to enjoy what was coming up. Emi slapped him awake. The man looked around anxiously and moved his arms to rub his eyes, only realizing that his arms were strapped to a pole. "Wha...What the..." he looked at Emi franticly. And then Matoki walked in. The man's eyes widened and his face got pale. He began tugging on the ropes harder now and squirming his legs, trying to break free. Recognise me? Matoki asked. "Oh yeah, I'm the guy you tried ot have killed! Now let me tell you what. If you give me what I want, I'll give you what you want. A trade. If you don't give me what I want, I ask my friend here to use his sharp, pointy Katanas on you! If you give me what I want, I'll let you go unharmed. Do we have a deal?" "Kill me and you'll never find out what I know!" He spat, sweat rolling down his cheek. "Who said anything about killing you?" Matoki asked with as mile. The man's face got even paler than before. "Now here's a test. What's your name?" He looked the man in the eye and watched with entertainment. "Yu-Yu-Yuto M-m-my lord." "Very good. Now I know you can answer my questions. Now let's start with something simple. Who do you work for?" Yuto gritted his teeth and kept his mouth shut. "Very well then. Have it your way." He signaled to the Metsuke and Emi took out a blade. Yuto squealed as the metsuke brought the blade down to his left foot. "My friend here is going to to cut off a toe. You still have a chance to talk to me. Tell me now, or you lose a toe." He waited for a response. "Very well. Emi, continue the deed." The screaming and blood was enough to make anyone shriek with terror, but in this case it made Matoki laugh. "Now you know I am not bluffing," Matoki said. "I will do whatever it takes to get the information I want. So let's try something a bit easier, shall we? Why was the assassin sent? If you don't tell me, I will have to cut off another toe." Silence. "You're bringing this on yourself, Yuto." He signaled for Emi to do the deed again. He moved the blade to his big toe and held it firm with his left hand, preparing to cut with his right. "WAIT! WAIT! PLEASE STOP! STOP! STOP!" "Yes?" Matoki asked, forcing himself not to smile. "We knew of your plan..." "What? What did you know about my plan?" "I don't know," Yuto panted. "I didn't have access to that information." "Well then who sent you? WHO IS BEHIND THIS! TELL ME NOW OR I SWEAR TO THE GODS, I WILL CUT AWAY EVERY BIT OF YOUR BODY UNTIL YOU BLEED TO DEATH!" That seemed to do the trick. "The.....The..." "What? The what? Gather your breath and talk! Come on!" "The..." "Cut off his ear," Matoki ordered. "It will make no difference anyway, because he can't seem to hear me." Yuto muttered something under his breath. "What?" Matoki demanded. "The Shinobi Elder," he whispered. "She's the one that sent me to assassinate you." |

Shaking their heads, the four Tatami guards looked back on the fair city of Mikawa that they had left behind. Mounted on their horse and carrying. It brought back memories of Motohisa discussing his grand plans for the city. A tear trickled down the face of Grato. They carried riding on, of to a farm where they knew the mother of the Motohisa was. It was likely she had already mourned her son as dead, but they should comfort her in her old age. Her husband died a few years ago, someone strong was needed to keep her safe. The Takesun trading contracts would all falter and fail upon her death with no one to manage them. Their wealth was already rapidly decreasing and poverty would soon be likely. Even the mansion she had lived in all her life had to be sold to pay for the debts. Life was ruined for her; at least she only had a few years left to live if she was lucky. Silently, the group made their way to her house. They would not serve the Daimyo due to his treatment of their master, and a samurai with no master was not a samurai at all. They still served Motohisa, they will find him. They must. |
