Even though i was still a week away from mikawa i sent an owl to the head of the daimyos security to see if my services could be of any use. i said in my letter that if we were to talk he would need to meet me as soon as i got off the ship at the docks due to the tight schedule I had included the time the place and to come alone neither of us need anymore casulities all i can do is to wait and see if he comes to visit.

While i was at port for the second time one of my favorite owls had brought me a letter from Toshiyamata talking about the rapid declining situation in mikawa and told me to be careful so i will .

Tanimoto returned to the scene of the his father's death hoping to find more clues as too what happe. The encounter with Isamu for some reason left an uneasy feeling in him making him wary. As Tanimoto took a closer look at the tracks he notice something that he should have caught before. The 800 men that he originally thought was acually 150 to 200 that just formed a longer rows to make there numbers look bigger. It's an effective tactic but a good tracker would have noticed it instantly but he believed it.

Tanimoto kicked himself for overreacting to his fathers lost causing him to make such a critical mistake. But he breathed a sigh of relief but now left a more uneasy feeling in him. Why would the enemy want to show a greater size of force and leave huge tracks to be followed. Tanimoto decided just to keep a look out for anything unusual. He started heading for the bridge to finish up his partol but he kinda wants to stay at the border a bit longer to see what unfolds.

And hopefully into his favor.

Isamu removed his hand from the handle of his Katana when the assassin moved away. He did not trust the man and Isamu wasn't about to let him kill the one true leader who could potentially destroy the Tokugawa.

"Ah, Yusei. It is an honor to meet someone with such ambition and drive. Something I haven't seen in a long time. It is also nice to see someone who notices a general! Much unlike the over confident fools of the Tokugawa Council. They do not see the potential in men - soldiers lives are spent like currency. Such skill is wasted. Such arrogance displayed on their part. Bah!"

Isamu then motioned to his second-in-command, Jajami, to come over. "Jajami, take a small unit of Black Riders and find Raion. Once you have met up with Raion, you are to follow his orders. Treat him as you would me." "Yes General!" Jajami saluted. "Good. Raion knows the plan and will brief you on the mission. Whilst you are with him, I am to lead the rest of our forces into battle. I will see you soon, Jajami. Do not fail me."

"Now, Yusei. I am confident in your plan and I think it has tactical merit. It is a well thought out strategy. My men are renowned for their skill at riding the horse into battle and therefore I'm positive we will have the upper hand in this battle! We shall be swift and skillful in our advancement forward, equipped with heavy plate, their defenses will barely touch us. I will use the method of hard charging our forces into their front lines, smashing into their lightly-armored units. They will not stand a chance."

Emerging from behind some tress, Wano had four men behind him who surrounded a fairly young woman behind in a square formation, protecting her. These guards were dressed in black deer hide armour and had Katana’s in their hands. Many small devices were clipped to their light armour, easily accessible by the warriors. Shortly behind them was a rider, dressed like the other guards, on a horse with large many bags on. Observing the surrounding land, this small part waited silently, observing the collation of people that had arrived at the meeting point, on the border of Owari and the Hattori land.

Yusei walked along through the forest, taking in the fresh air of the night. Preparing a speech, he was interrupted by Wano and his companions moving towards him. He turned away from Isamu and turned to face Wano.

Speaking cooly and confidently,"Wano-sama, it is great to see you again. I assume this is your lovely daughter, a great honor to meet ..."

Wano's face stayed emotionless as Yusei hinted for her name. He continued,"Wano-sama, did you honor your end of the agreement, and bring me the matchlock weapon and the fire bomb. The 100% success of this mission depends upon it."

“You expected me not to?” Wano responded, still no trace of emotion in his voice. Silently, the mounted man descended from his horse and unpacked something from one of the bags. He held out the matchlock in two hands, advancing towards Wano and Yusei. In the background, another of the men dressed in the black deer hide also rummaged around in one of the bags on the horse and pulled out a firebomb, held it in his hands, and advanced towards the two. Finally, a third man was searching the bags; he pulled out a small razor sharp blade, held it in two hands, and proceeded to advance towards the group as well. On the blade, a small symbol of a red dragon coiled around a thick red pole was engraved on the centre, the edge of the blade was razor sharp and deadly to anyone.

It had been years since Abunuj had visited the village he had once saved from a rebellion. He had become good friends with Tahimjo and his followers, and he decided it was time to go and visit the village with them. He had been getting angry at Tokugawa clan recently, he didn't really have a reason why besides he had been wronged by them. His family had become very poor after he had been fired from the Tatami Council, and his daughter had died from a sickness unknown because he didn't have the money to pay for a treatment. At at time of such power of the Tokugawa, he saw faintness of corruption, and evil inside there. One of the officers of the Tokugawa had just gone and left, and he believed that that one man may know about the corruption he sees, and maybe, just maybe, he can help him in his ultimate goal.

The village was beautiful, he remembered how much damage had been done to the village after the fight and to see that it had rebuilt, and then some, left a joy in his heart. He walked into the village center, and people seemed to still remember him as they all gave him interesting flashes of smiles. The village elder, which had taken a arrow to the neck during the fight, was much better and seemed to have learned very well about how to defend the village. Rumor has it that they had been training everyday for an hour a day since the attack, which Abunuj considered as a surprising feat due to all the damages, how could they find the time to do so. This rumor of course hadn't been confirmed, and Abunuj was one of the lucky few people that seemed to know. When Abunuj turned his head to the mountain that the rebels had used to hid there attack until the last second he noticed how much the village had spread. A forest was on the opposite side of the village that the mountain was, and he could see quite a few buildings there that he hadn't seen at first glance. He thought for a second and realized how important that forest had been in the fight, so they would have moved into there so nobody had known where it was. Once he found the village center he would have to ask the Elder if that was the reason for it.

The inner part of the village was amazing, and reminded him of a city that he used to live in, was it Mikawa, no... or was it? Every city he had lived in now belongs to the Tokugawa, except for one, the capital of the Hattori. It was like a revelation! They didn't like Tokugawa either, but why, what had they done to the village. The economy had been booming in recent years, and that may be the reason the village had been so huge now. He hadn't even been halfway done walking threw the town center yet! Now again why would this village dislike the Tokugawa, maybe he was just over thinking this, maybe they were just building to build, and it didn't matter to them how they built it. He needed to talk with the Town Elder, so then he could ask all the questions on his mind. He turned to talk with Tihimjo. "Where do you think this Elder might be?"
"In the Sake Den of course, that is where I went to meet him last season."
"What now, you went to talk to him last season, why?"
"That is what you may want to ask him, I'm sure you have a lot of questions"
"Well then let us go find this Sake Den... wait why does this village have a Sake Den, isn't that something for maybe Castle Towns?"
"This village has made some good connections, it may not be as big as a Castle Town, but it sure can act like one."
"What are you talking about, what have I missed in these last few years?"
"Yet again that is one for the Town Elder."

Abunuj turned back and began to look for where the Sake Den may be, where oh where could it be. In the Meantime Tahimjo kept walking, but where, there was nothing in the fores-, oh wait yes there was, the buildings he had seen maybe a minute ago, one of them must have been the Sake Den. Abunuj had to go and find it, he had to see what was going on in this village that he had missed.

"Excellent, I did not expect you to fail. However, this blade, I ask what it is and why you are giving it to me, I had not asked for that."

Continuing to show no emotion the man stood there in the darkness of the night, the moon beaming a glimpse of light to show his emotionless face. The two of them stood there staring into the voids of the emotions twirling around them.

Backing up slowly a samurai stepped forward to defend Yusei in case of attack. An Onna Bushi also stepped forward, both covered in black armor.

"Now, I ask again, the blade, tell me what it is!"

“No need to panic” Wano quickly replied, however his voice was still emotionless “It is merely an incredibly sharp blade that I am gifting to you, you can use it to slaughter your enemies and those who stand against you. While it may not be as long as a katana, once you get in range with it is deadly, even more deadly than the Katana my Shadow Samurai here wield. Upon closer inspection, it seems all of the Shadow Samurai had that same symbol engraved upon their Katana’s and even Wano himself had it engraved on his Katana. ” Wano raised his arm and gestured to his men standing around him “Think of it a wedding gift for when you marry my fair Fumika here. She is my daughter you have chosen to marry; you shall have time along together when this battle is done tonight, you shall enjoy her company I’m sure. This blade shall protect you tonight so you can live to that day, and I beseech you to use it, you shall be served faithfully by it. “Having finished speaking, Wano stood motionless and the Shadow Samurai still held the three pieces of equipment.

Yusei bowed to Wano, asking for forgiveness to the man. He held out his hand calling of the Onna Bushi and the Samurai, who immediately returned to Yusei's side.

"Very well, Wano-sama, I will take this blade and use it well. Now I will discuss more confidential matters with you in private after this battle. I must now go and make a speech to my men and signal the attack. But first..."

Yusei reached out and grabbed the blade, fire bomb, and matchlock. He handed them to the samurai next to him, who understanding the order, head out to deliver the fire bomb and matchlock to the proper unit. Yusei turned and mounted, trotting off to meet Isamu again.

The men were all assembled an ready, all 75 of them. The Black Riders on horse, the Black Samurai on foot. The Black Samurai ranged from the most downtrodden peasant, to the most honourable samurai, they were united in a cause to defeat the Tokugawa and bring Yusei's version of unification to the land.

"All of you, we all have dedicated our lives in one way or another to the preservation of Japan. In the end, we are all brothers. The Tokugawa do not understand. They betrayed me when I was hoping to bring unity. They are corrupt, corrupt by an enraged Head Priestess and her pretentious, idealistic thoughts. We seek unity, they seek complete control. This watchtower will burn like the flame of a rebellion, growing stronger as the fire absorbs the air around it. At all costs, this watchtower must burn, the Tokugawa must be blinded in the area. Now all of you, follow General Isamu-sama, I trust him to lead us to glory. Get to your assigned positions and do your duty."

*Anonymous voice* How did the "great" Sword Master of the Tokugawa get removed from his post, anyway? What shameful disgrace could have possibly been committed to receive that dishonor?

It was that time again. Hitoshi walked briskly through the courtyard of Mikawa's grand castle towards the main gates flanked by 2 guards. Upon reaching the outside of the walls he pinned up another large sheet of parchment advertising for the vacancies in the council. Tatami Master and Kesei required, Apply Now... Hitoshi bent down and placed a large box beneath the advertisement. "Guard the box." He instructed to the guards posted at the gates. He then turned on his heels and made his way back towards the castle.

Hirotada sat in the teahouse alone but for the server who presided over the crackling charcoal fire. The Daimyo enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in here, it was one of the few areas of the castle that was not tainted by the bustle of busy people going about their daily business. As he took a sip of tea he looked at a pile of letters on the floor next to him. The applications for the officers had begun to pile up once again.

"It's a shame that there are only two spots available," Hirotada mused looking at the server. "The Shogun is surely getting twitchy as he bears witness to our armies slowly surrounding his beloved Kyoto. No doubt he is trying all in his power to deal us a killing blow."

The Daimyo took another sip of his tea before holding his bowl out to be refilled. The sever ladled another helping into the Damiyo's bowl. Hirotada gave a gentle nod in appreciation.

"It is obvious to a blind man that defeating us with brute force is out of the question which leaves treachery and deceit as the only option. What is the best way to kill a snake?" Hirotada asked.

"Erm..." The server was taken aback by the sudden question.

"You cut off it's head of course." Hirotada answered. "The head of our clan lies here in Mikawa and as such I feel that it is here that we are most in danger, not on the front lines. I am no fool, I hear rumblings of discontent amongst some people. It appears I have earnt plenty of enemies and no doubt left men alive that I should have had killed in a heartbeat."

Hirotada pressed his fingers together and he looked at the application forms once again.

"That is why I feel we must take action to ensure that any trouble that may find it's way to our gates is quashed at the earliest opportunity. Amongst this pile of applications lies people who are behind the Tokugawa and our cause. Only two can make it as an officer on our council but it would be foolish to just cast the others aside."

Hirotada gulped the last of his tea and scooped up the papers from the floor.

"Therefore any applicant that is not successful in their pursuit to become an officer will be offered the opportunity to join the security council aleady headed by Yoshihairo. There are already two assassins on the council and further soliders and men skilled in construction, who these applicants appear to be, will be an extremely useful addition. Once they have joined I will be giving the council some Koku to get prepared. Our castle will undergo security upgrades and the recruitment of a small defensive force will then commence. This force will be responsible for rooting out all trouble in the city and the members of the security council will organise and lead that force."

Hirotada turned to leave.

"Thank you for tea, I must go and make the necessary preparations."

Abunuj had finally entered the forest part of the Village, after what seemed like a lifetime of walking. There were many more buildings than he had seen inside the town center. It was like a new village inside of the village. There were people everywhere making weapons, food, armor, pretty much everything that was needed for a battle, they had a surplus of, but why? Abunuj was more curious than anything, he had to find out what was going on in a village, that only 6 years ago was completely destroyed. It was time to ask some questions, but yet, the Sake Den was still nowhere to be seen. He decided just to follow Tahimjo, he already knew where it was.

After a few minutes of searching they finally found the Sake Den, it was hidden in a small cave in the forest, Abunuj was thinking threw some things and thought how easy this village would be able to defend now, with all of it's additions. The forest was quiet dark, but for anybody who spent 6 years of their life here they would know where everything was, so it wouldn't be hard to defend at all, but would be incredibly difficult to attack. With all the training some of the men in this village has gone threw Abunuj expected they must have also had some actual training, maybe with looters or bandits. That was always good, once that first kill is gone, then you wont hesitate for a second kill. The Sake Den looked packed, but that really shouldn't be a problem because the entire village must already know what is going on, and why.

Once they entered the Sake Den, Tahimjo pointed out a man sitting in the corner, drinking of course, some Sake. They made their way to him, grabbing some chairs on the way so they could sit. Once they got their Tahimjo was the first to speak. "It's been awhile, how are the plans going?"
The Elder, who wasn't really to old, then responded "Quiet well, thanks, a few villages not to far from here have joined our side, scared that they may be attacked by the Outsiders again." Abunuj knew this was no time to talk, and to leave it to Tahimjo and the Elder, so he could get as much info without being noisy.
"That is good, have they provided our main army with men, after all in the end that is what matters, not the money."
"Yes, each one has about 15 men that are trained well. and some more minute men, that really helps, it brings out total to 80 trained men, and around 125 minute men, but as we all know around 10 of those counts as one trained one.'
"Yes, yes, and what about the scouts, have they found out anything new?"
"I don't know if that is something I should really tell you at this time, it is better other people find out before us, or at least you and your friends."
"Of course, and by the way these are the people who helped me protect your village from those rebels a few years back, funny how things change isn't it."
That was it, Abunuj had to know what was going on, and of course why, why were they making an army, the Tokugawa could defend them well, or maybe...
"Sorry about this but could you fill me in on... well everything please, it doesn't really help not to know anything"
"Of course sorry... Abunuj is it, it has been a awhile and back then I was a mere farmer."
"Yes it is Abunuj, so please can you just inform me why all of this is happening?"
"Well it is quiet long, it starts out like this. A few months after you and your friends here saved our village from those rebels, we asked the Tokugawa to help us rebuild, as that is what they are supposed to do to villages that have taken damage and sworn allegiance to them"
Abunuj knew this all to well, if a village swears allegiance, which pretty much means that it is in clan land, that the clan shall help pay for rebuilding if anything happens to the village, that was common knowledge. "Yes of course, are you saying that they didn't help you pay?"

"Yes that is exactly what happened, we were desperate to keep our village, so we sent a few men to go across the border and get help from the Hattori, who were at the time allies with the Tokugawa, they helped us a lot, they gave us all the money we needed and then some, told us to build a small army and to build inside of the forest, encase of another attack. We did so and all the asked in return was to be allowed to go into our forest and gather some resources to build something good, whatever that was they never told us. We agreed to their terms and went on with our everyday life, along with training 50 men of course. Then a few years ago the Hattori told us that soon they would have to turn on their allies, or at least attack their allies vassel, and that if we did not turn with them bad things may happen. Our entire village would have gone with them even if they didn't threaten us, they were a lot better than the money hungry Tokugawa, who continually took some of our goods as pay, even though, well you know"

"Yes of course I do" Things were beginning to make sense, and Abunuj could see where the Elder was going.

"Well the Hattori asked of us to do one more thing for them, but a can't tell you in such a public area, if you were to come with me to the back I could inform you on probably the most important part of the plan" Abunuj didn't hesitate to get out of his chair and follow the man. Whatever he was going to tell him, it was worth it.
