"CHARGE!" Screamed someone half way across the battlefield. Raion care little for the assualt on the tower. His job was all that mattered, so he moved quickly. He had three men behind him, two had torches and the last one was Jujani. Raion did not know this man, but he cared much for this man for he was the side-man of his master. Their horses moves swiftly through a cover of trees, and a approached a small group of Tokugawa soldiers on sighting. They were the signal who would warn and surrounding allies to attack and reinforce.

If they got away, their rebellion was in trouble. At the top of a large hill in the distance was cover, enough too flank the tower as the rest of the division distracted their troops. He would get up the tower and set it on fire using a fire bomb. The horses quickly trotted to the hill and stopped atop it. Now they had a clear view of the battlefield, which now had commenced in front of the watch tower. With one swift motion Raion swept his hand forward and sent the four men forward. The watchtower was tallish, and certainly well supplied. The horses stopped right behind the watchtower, and the men hopped down.

They silently climbed up the watchtower. There were three katana samurai and one commander who was the signaler. Raion reached the top, platform without being noticed. The other samurai were scrambling to yell orders as the rebellion slammed against the several patrol divisions. With one swift move Raion shoved his katana through the Commander, who was stuck in one terrible expression. The other Katana turned around in awe. The four men commenced the hand to hand combat. One katana swung his blade at Raion which he blocked with his own and kicked him over the edge of the platform. As he tumbled down to his death. Jujani slashed another one in front of himself. The other two accompanies, were helping him out as he slid the sword from his opponents abdomen.

The other two tried to resist but with them outnumbered now 4-2, they had no chance. The two other Tokugawa guards found themselves headless a few moments later.

"Run down! Grab the torches, Jujani stay with me...we will view the first step in their downfall!" Raion told calmly to Jujani. The other two Rebel soldiers rushed down to the ground to deliver the torches. Within the moment as the men returned with the flaming torches in their hand, Raion leant out and screamed!

"DEATH TO HIROTIDA! DEATH TO THE COUNICL! DEATH TO THE TOKUGAWA!!!!!!!!!!!!" Raion screamed at the top of his lungs, enjoying the sight of a battle that was tipping in the favor of the Rebellion. Then he lit the watchtower on fire, and ran out with its supplies.

Soon after Kaiso returned to Ii Munetsune's command, news hit about the end of the Hattori alliance. As per orders from the council - what little of it remained - Munetsune's army was to serve as support for Ieyasu as they forged ahead into Hattori territory. The army did not participate in battle, as Ieyasu's larger force swept away what little resistance there was. Tango was easily liberated and Tanba fell just as easily. There wasn't enough room in the fortress for both armies, so Munetsune and his troops had to wait outside city limits, ever vigilant should the Hattori daimyo show his face.

Kaiso was uncomfortable. It was not the threat of potential death in an upcoming battle that worried him, nor was it the news that his ninja uncle had died fighting against the Date. They concerned him, true, but he was most frustrated about the council. The Tatami Master, gone for far too long, being officially booted from office, and now the Kensei runs off with madness? His sole comfort in that regard was that the High Priestess seemed to have her head on her shoulders, based on their brief encounter in Mikawa. He had no opinion of the Shinobi Elder, although that was another office that had been replaced once before. Now there were two slots to be filled.

He had not heard Fujiko's whispers when they met, but he had come to the same conclusion: Kaiso was the sole member of the Tatami Council. With the old master gone, was it not logical that he become the next Tatami Master? I hold seniority when it comes to that position. I should get that role, or at least some acknowledgement in that regard.

"Susuki?" he asked his friend as they maintained the night watch together. "Would you support me becoming Tatami Master?"

His friend turned to him, pausing before answering. "I'd support you, yes."

"When I get the position," When, not if. I will get the position. "Would you be willing to come along as a personal aide?"

The ashigaru cocked his head slightly. "Like an adviser or a bodyguard or something?"

"Both, if possible. You come from a more economic background then I, so I'd appreciate any input you'd have on my policies. It would help me a great deal. Bodyguard is nice as well, although I do think I could handle myself. No, what I need most is... a friend. Someone I can rely on. Would... you do that for me?"

Susuki paused, then nodded. "I will."

Kaiso nodded back. "Thank you. I've already applied. Now we wait."

NOTE: This post takes place before the battle that most recently took place, so the Kensei Master was still believed to be dead.

Matoki turned towards Emi with shock, who also looked shocked, and then bck to Yuto. "Hirase Chikage? How the hell would she be involved in any of this?"

Yuto hesitated, but began talking when he thought of his precious toes. "She's working for the Hattori," he spat. "I work for her! She's been manipulating this rebellion by keeping every office position vacant. She's the mastermind behind it all, and your plan to become the new Tatami Master made you a target. We had no choice but to keep our plan steady. That's all I know...I swear!"

And suddenly it all started to come together. Hirase has a history with the Hattori, so it would be easy enough to establish a cover in the Tokugawa and work as a mole within it's government. The 2 main positions have been vacant for too long allowing the daimyo to corrupt the military and economy, which is what got us into this war in the first place. That's why we required officers in the first place. With the Tatami Master missing and Kensei Master dead, all she needs is to have the daimyo control things and dig the Tokugawa even deeper into this hole. And with a rebellion brewing and the Shogun's armies massing on the borders, we won't be able to survive without proper counsil.

"Do you know where the Tatami Master is?"

"No..." he said, and Matoki believed him. "I was assigned for this mission, not for the Tatami Master's operation. I swear...please don't hurt me anymore. I beg of you my lord! I will do anything!"

"We need to contact the daimyo," said Matoki to Emi. "This bastard over here is going to tell everything he just told me to the damyio and that is our proof. Tie this guy up tight. We're going to the castle. You're well known by all guards in the city, so they'll listen to you even if they don't know me. I'm going to write a message on a scroll for you to give to the guards on the morrow telling him of our accusations, and when he reads it he will have no choice but to meet us and hear what we have to say."

They travelled to the castle together, tense, and never let their guard down. Viewing the castle again made Matoki's scars burn even more than they already did. The guards recognised Emi as Matoki had expected, yet they still had to ask his name.

"Emi Daichi." They nodded, recognising the name.

"What is it?" The guard asked, bowing down.

"We need to schedule a meeting with the daimyo on the morrow. It is of absolute importance and must be arranged immediately. Also, deliver this scroll to the damyio, he will want to see what is written in it I assure you. Make sure it's seen by his eyes only. We'll meet in an indoor location of his choosing on the morrow. Until next time, gentlemen."

"What nonsense is this!?" Hirotada spat as he read through the scroll handed to him by one of the gate guards. "It appears that Yusei is not the only one who has lost his marbles lately." The Daimyo threw the scroll onto the floor.

"Go back and inform this deluded man that I will speak with him tomorrow as he wishes. He will not be entering the Castle however, we will meet in the courtyard at midday. I cannot wait to hear more of his far fetched tale." Hirotada gestured for the guard to leave and then continued to eat his meal.

Matoki arrived at the meeting in the courtyard as Hirotada had asked, and bowed honorably. Hirotada's face meant buisness, so Matkoi got to the point.

"Some days ago, there was an attempt on my life near this castle. I tracked the assassin down to this man," He shoved Yuto onto the ground with his hands and legs tied up. "This man worked directly with the Shinobi Elder to plot my assasination attempt to keep me from taking the position of the Tatami Master, as the current Tatami Master's whereabouts are unknown and he has been missing for quite a long time. Now enough of my talking, I'll let this man say what he knows."

Matoki kicked Yuto in the stomach and commanded him to speak.

"H..H....Hirase Chikage has been the person behind everything, including the Tatami Master's dissapearance, in an attempt to keep the two most important offices vacant. She is a mole working for the Hattori, and you should know her history with those people. She's behind it all... and she's been manipulating everyone this entire time. She's also responsible for the rebellion coming up...she's minipulated you all this entire time.."

"That would be all Yuto," Matoki said, turning back towards the damyio.

Hirotada was stood flanked by 4 of his bodyguards in the courtyard, it was a particularly warm day. He glared at the sorry sight of the bound man on the courtyard floor, his face was full of contempt and pity. He then looked directly at Matoki.

"You believe the words of this man?" Hirotada asked, he did not wait for a reply before continuing.

"Is it not obvious that he has spouted lies, no doubt to prevent you from taking his life. Let me tell you how it is. The Shinobi Elder would not go behind my back and order the assassination of any possible candidates of office, she would be aware that such an act would lead to dismissal and most probably death at my request. I trust her enough to say that much. Also the Kensei's dismissal was my decision and I have only just begun the application process for a replacement, therefore she cannot possibly be responsible for that vacant position as this man claims."

The man on the floor squirmed and started to remonstrate, Matoki kicked him again and he fell silent.

"Finally, Chikage... A Hattori mole. Ludicrous! She has gone about her business in office as well as I could have hoped, an example for others in how to conduct oneself as a Tokugawa officer. I am flabbergasted that you have believed this man's poisonous words."

Yuto interrupted the Daimyo, "You do not see everything, she is pulling the wool over your eyes, the rebellion..."

"SILENCE!" Hirotada snapped. He addressed Matoki once again.

"Get this man out of my castle before I have him executed for treason and unless you have anything else to say about matters I suggest you leave too. I have heard this man's false accusations and if that is the only evidence you have brought, then I am done here."

2 of the guards grabbed Matoki by his arms, dragging him away by his arms as he kicked and shoved. Matoki became enraged.

"YOU IDIOT! I SWEAR TO THE GODS YOU WILL REGRET THIS DAY HIROTADA! SO BLIND AS TO IGNORE THE TRUTH RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES!"

"Take the fool," said the daimyo, reffering to Yuto. "Throw him in a cell, I have more I want to ask of this man."

Yuto whimpered with terror in his eyes as Matoki to the gates and thrust him away from the castle. Matoki landed on the wound on his arm. He shrieked in a combination of pain and anger. If his katana had not been robbed of him during the attempt on his life, he would take it and slay every person he saw wearing the Tokugawa banner. Her plan is working, He thought. And he's too much of an idiot to do anything about it.

Note:This takes place right after my last post, so before the watchtower attack.

Abunuj walked into the back of the Sake Den, it was dark, and chills ran threw Abunuj when he realized what might be going on. Then he heard it, the faintest movement behind him, he was to late, a club rammed right into his back. He stumbled to his feet, turned to the direction the blast came from, and same a slight movement in the shadows, but then a hand and an arm rapped around his face and throat, and pulled him to the ground. "Sorry, we have to make sure, Chiyoko get his arms, check for anything." The man in the shadows emerged and grabbed Abunuj's arms, he searched threw Abunuj's cloak and everything, only removing all of Abunuj's hidden weapons, and some still remain that he must have missed. Then he finally gave the order "He's clean." Clean, ok so after all of those weapons he was clean, weird, what were they looking for.

"Sorry about that Abunuj, we have had a lot of moles trying to stop the rebellion recently, no matter how much we trust you we have to do this." said The Elder. Who Abunuj still didn't known what his name was.
"Yeah no problem, sure that was just protocol and such, you know, the attacking of an ally, taking their weapons then apologizing."
"Yet again I'm sorry, I have to do so, let me ask you something, have you ever heard of Operation Cloak and Dagger or Kuchisake-onna?"
"Are they ingredants to a bowl of rice?"
"I thought not, well our scouts have picked up info on many things, number one that there is a different rebellion going on, we aren't the only ones annoyed with Hirotada And two, that these operations are meant to destroy all of the rebellions, and that needs to stop."
"Hold up, peasant scouts, what are you talking about?"
"Let me assure you peasants make for the best of scouts, if they have been trained to follow the patrols without being noticed and learn what is going on in the castle, without being in the castle. We have sent them across the border of the Tokugawa to find out info about the war and such, that is how we picked up information like this."
"Ok so what is the big deal, why did you bring me in here?"
"Let me just finish this quick part, we also have one last bit of important piece of info, there will be an attack on the watchtower soon, if you join us we want you to scout out that area and see if you can find out where the rebellion takes place, you can take another man with you as well"
"Ok ok ok, but can you tell me why you brought me in here? What was the last thing the Hattori asked you to do?"
"Ok, be patient They asked us to make an army, and the way to do that is to recruit villages to our side, how we do that I can't tell you yet, but we have 2 other villages on our side, and they are training men at the moment, so because time is of the essence what do you think, want to help us scout out?, and join the cause."
"Of course"

There, perched on the small raised piece of terrain, was Isamu with his elite horseman behind him. The Black Riders. The defenders - the enemy - were also there, ever vigilant and waiting for the oncoming charge that awaited them. The defenders were at a slight disadvantage in this situation, for they were on the lower ground.

Certain annihilation was all that they would be greeted with. Isamu, The One Eyed General, is indeed notorious for claiming victory whilst on horseback. Though Isamu did not expect the enemy to be so brave. They were also majorly outnumbered. A mere twenty or so guards vs The Black Riders. This was far from a war, more of a pathetic clash.

Isamu's heavy-plated, elite soldiers will make short work of these lightly-dressed guardsmen, barely out of training. Is this what a general of Isamu's caliber was reduced to? - Fighting untrained boys who liked to pretend they were men? The notion angered Isamu greatly though this was no different to being a general in the Tokugawa. Most who saw would barely notice. He was constantly undermined and ignored. Perhaps the main reason for is betrayal. That and he is most displeased with The Daimyo at current for going against the true power of Japan; The Shogunate. He saw The Council as snakes. Arrogant swines, always looking to rain on every honest mans parade. Well no more! Their disloyalty to the true leader, The Shogunate, will not be tolerated. They will pay for such treachery.

Isamu ordered one of his men to come forward with the Tokugawa flag. "Stick it in the ground." Isamu commanded. "Good. Now burn it! - From this day onward, I decree that The Tokugawa are an enemy of The Black Riders! No more shall I be treated like a peasant! For too long have we sat in the shadows waiting. Waiting for that one glorious day: The downfall of The Tokugawa and the death of the Daimyo! So men, today is the day we shine! Not one of you dies here today! - We shall slaughter the enemy rapidly and sensibly. Remember; we have the upper hand in this battle. Our skill and training will pay off today, so just keep calm and remain collective! NOW MY BLACK RIDERS! DO ME PROUD!"

The army then let out a spine tingling war cry and Isamu lead the ferocious charge forward, straight into the enemy. It was a massacre. A bloodbath. The pitiful excuse of a defense the enemy setup counted for nothing. Isamu's personalized Di-Ava-Katana sliced through enemy flesh like a hot knife through warm butter.

The armored horses with their armored handlers simply charged through the defenders at an epic rate. There were no survivors. Unfortunately, Isamu did lose a couple of men though they were only trainees. They hadn't received their official welcoming into The Black Riders, though they did show good promise.

Isamu signaled the others to burn the tower to the ground. The rebellion was now in motion.

Wano watched in morbid fascination as the watchtower guards were being massacred. The small squad of Shadow Samurai led by Wano stood as still and silent as statues. They were merely here to observe and study, and so far the test had been passed. Fumika was on the horse, its load considerably lighter since delivering the equipment, with one of the Shadow samurai so they could make a rapid escape if needed. Wano and the rest were dismounted, confident that extra horses were not needed and they could make their escape on foot anyway. Only one of these was actually looking around for fleeing enemies, messengers or reinforcements. The darkness still shielded Wano’s face so as no one would be able to make out what expression it showed, and the darkness of the night could protect them in flight or in combat.

Yusei sat as he watched over the small attack on the watchtower, he was pleased to see that General Isamu and Raion had successfully completed their objectives. Yusei, mounted on horse, moved towards Wano.

"Wano-sama, you see how this battle goes. It is a success as of now, but the hard part is yet to come. You may ask, why start on a watchtower, with such petty defenders. I will answer those assumed thoughts with a question. To challenge the greatest clan in Japan, do we start with big strikes, amassing a large number of troops and hoping for the best like other rebellions? No, I am willing to start such a rebellion to challenge all the Tokugawa. Right now, they cannot afford to deal with the Black Samurai rebellion, they do not have the man power. Small garrisons and patrols are all they can do. Do I expect to win this battle? No, a huge patrol is capable of winning in this scenario. I want to show the Tokugawa especially the Head Priestess and Daimyo, what strategies and tactics I am capable of, the power of our forces."

"Now Wano-sama, I must go to deal with the incoming patrol. Tell Isamu-sama, and Raion-sama to prepare the troops to withdraw. Count our dead and rally the troops. Whatever troops I will fight with will probably give their lives so that we can escape. I promise to bring the matchlock back. Best regards to Fumiko-san."

He smiled at Fumika, and turned to ride off to meet his ambush unit along the road.

Tanimoto heard noise over the hill near the forest where a watch tower is. Tanimoto didn't kown what is going on if they are doing something important but it needs to be investigated.

"Muchi, I want you to take 100 men and continue with the patrol. I will take the rest and go investigate what is going on at the watch tower." "yes sir!" said Muchi. With his trusted sergent going on ahead Tanimoto and his 100 troops to investigate what is going on at the watchtower. Just as he was about to reach the top of the hill a huge flash of light came from the watchtower. Tanimoto rushed up to the top of the hill to see watchtower fall to the ground in blazing fire.
Tanimoto was shock to see about 75 men fighting the 15 tokugawa troops or atleast what is left. As his men reached his postion and Tanimoto watched as faces went white from shock of seeing what is happening in front of them.

"Men, we are being attack I don't know by who but we must stop them" "YAAAAHHHH" cheered his men. "We must save what men are left and are fighting these invaders. We are the only hope those men have left of living to fight another day." "YEEEEAAAAHHH" Cheered his men as they raised their weapons ready for battle.

"Since we are behind him stay near the woods but not in the woods for there may be an ambush I don't know but we must drive these Abominations out of our land." "YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEAAAHHHHHH" Cried his men as they rushed down the hill near the woods to flank the invaders.

Tanimoto strung his bow and unstrap his sword for easy access and readied for battle. He didn't know who they are but by there armor from this distance they look to be Hattori in their black armor.

Silently, Wano waved his arm which ordered the Shadow Samurai on the horse to withdraw with Fumika. Riding off into the night they made a hasty escape out of the forest relying on the shadows to be their guard. Wano proceeded to slowly walk to the cheering victorious forces at the watchtower and emotionlessly said “Now we leave”. Having said this Wano, along with all but 1 of the other Shadow Samurai, ran off into the night in the same direction as Fumika did. The lone Shadow Samurai ran in the direction of the approaching patrol. A razor sharp Katana, inscribed with the Red dragon coiled around a think pole symbol was waiting eagerly in his hands to do its grim work.

The patrol was marching near the forest towards the blazing watchtower, a beacon of fear, at a fast pace. Suddenly, emerging from the darkness, was the single lone shadow Samurai charging at the patrol head on screaming like a banshee. Katana raised above his head, the nearest Ashigaru got cleanly sliced in two when the Samurai’s Katana descended upon him. Without missing a beat, the katana was still withdrawn from the dead ashigaru, while the Samurai was still moving, and was then swung into the nearest ashigaru, crimson blood being spewed out of the fatal wound and coating the katana and the grass in blood. Horrified, the patrol slowly began to back off from this demonic man. “All who defend the Tokugawa shall fall to my blade! I shall defend my master to the death.” the samurai bellowed. For a few seconds, no one moved. The stalemate was broken by a command from the leader of the watchtower’s reinforcing patrol to slay this ferocious fighter; he would be no match for their sheer numbers once surrounded. The first Ashigaru charged sword in hand. Gracefully, the Samurai parried the blow and proceeded to decapitate his challenger. His head fell to the ground and made a soft thud. Meanwhile, a man with a Yari tried to stab the Samurai as he was dispatching with the Sword wielding man. However, the Samurai managed to recover from his decapitating attack in time to sidestep the thrust from the Yari then spin around to the back on the Yari wielder and slash him at his waste. Blood and gore flew everywhere as the man collapsed into a heap on the ground.

Now, the Samurai was surrounded on all sides. The commander of the patrol himself was in the front lines, his Katana ready to try to kill this man who is wreaking havoc among his men. As quick as a viper, the Samurai dropped his Katana, reached for his belt and the something on the ground. Suddenly, smoke filled the air and the crackling of fire could be heard. Next was a grunt, followed shortly by a thud. Men ran around like headless chickens, confused as to what was going on. When the smoke cleared, a small fire could be seen burning some grass, it was in no danger of spreading and catching the forest alight. Further away from the fire, was the Shadow Samurai lying harmlessly on the ground, a Yari protruding from his stomach, blood flowing from the wound. In his hands lay the Katana, coated in blood and inscribed with the Dragon, far away from where he had originally dropped it. A full moon was shining in the sky down upon the watchtower and the surrounding area, and the battle was far from over.

Tanimoto stared at the lifeless body of the samurai that had come out of the woods and fought his men alone. He quickly check his men one man decapitated, 2 with nasty slashes or stabs, and 2 with slashes on the arms with some burns from that thing the samurai threw down. So in all 3 dead and 2 injuried to the point of they don't get medical treatment soon they might die. "Kenichi, come give these men medical treatment quickly! The rest of you let's get moving." It took a second before his men started moving again, in shock of what just happened.

Tanimoto moved to the lifeless body of the samurai and saw the sword that killed his men. He reached for the katana, on it was a red dragon. It was a fine weapon indeed Tanimoto clipped it to his belt to study it later and find out what the red dragon means. He quickly searched the body for anything else and found nothing of interest except that he does not have a mon of the Hattori. "So who are you?" he said to himself and quickly rise to lead his men to drive away these invaders.

He was nearing the watchtower and say the enemy retreating but from the side in the trees came a loud BANG!!!!

(away from the battle)

Rufus was annoyed that he couldn't find the man demanding a ransom to the daimyo, but he was still going to try to find a lead to Motohisa. He thought about anyone or anything, Motohisa could have left behind that could be a clue. He thought for nearly another hour and Finally found his answer.

"His guards!" he exclaimed.

He then ran towards the palace, proud of what he had found. He reached the doors and was stopped by the usual guards.

"Do you have any authorization?" the right guard asked

"Don't you remeber him?" said the right guard "Its Rufus, the guy in charge of watching out for Tokugawa Ieyasu"

"Yes, that's me" said Rufus

"You know he's out on campaign?"

"Yes, I'm here for other bussiness." Rufus said "I'd like to see The tatami master's guards."

"Oh, they're at his mother's house" said the left guard

"Thank you" Rufus cried out, already leaving

He rushed towards the house, as he already saw Motohisa going to see his mother a while ago. Once he reached the house, he knocked at the door.
