Hirotada let out a grunt as his servant Hitoshi tried to straighten his master's Kimono. He had been stood for an eternity whilst his attire was being perfected. "Almost there my lord, just the finishing touches are required." Hitoshi was handed Hirotada's golden eboshi by a small girl who had been waiting patiently. He then proceeded to affix it to Hirotada's head. Once it was on, Hitoshi took a step back. "Ahh, excellent, we are all done master." Hirotada turned away from Hitoshi and walked over to a large ornate mirror at the back of the room. He eyed himself for a couple of minutes. "I suppose it will do." He mumbled. Hirotada had become accustomed to adorning armour and weaponary these past few years due to his increaed involvement in the war with the Uesugi. However now was the time for a more elegant look his advisors had informed him. "How many people are outside?" He asked Hitoshi. "Erm, at least a few hundred." Hitoshi replied. "Good." Hirotada turned from the mirror nodded at the two Samurai that were guarding the door. They pulled the doors open. Hirotada walked into the hallway where he was met by 12 of his personal guards. Hirotada could hear the hustle of the crowd now, he had not made a public address since rising up against the Imagawa all those years ago. He felt however the time was right to reassure his people. He strode to the castle doors, took a deep breath and started to descend the steps towards the crowd who were gathered outside. Upon seeing the Daimyo, dressed in a yelllow and white silk Kimono, trimmed with gold embroidery flanked by his guards the crowd instantly fell silent. "I thank you all for coming here today. It has been a long journey for us all these past years, we have had our ups and downs but despite the interference and treachery of our enemies we still stand prosperous. Our lands are ripe with crops, trade is abundant and our lands are united under one banner. The Shogun has noticed our advancements and has cast us aside, turning every last clan of Japan against us, calling us the enemy. I stand here today my people to reassure you that we have seen off adversity before, we will stand firm and see off adversity again. I have recently appointed four officers, the most knowledgable men and women in their fields to ensure our advancements continue. Times are changing but we will remain strong and true and will not go down without a fight. You may have concerns I know. There are murmurs of a decrease in trade, some of your are worried for you farms and your livelihood, that enemy raiders will pillage all we have. I am here to inform you that you have nothing to worry about. Your security and well being is my top priority, so fear not, Tokugawa people will be heard and your voices shall be counted. If you have anything to say that you think I or my officers should hear, speak freely and we will address all of your concerns no matter how trivial. I finish by saying this, you have stood by me for so long my people, let it be known that once our mighty clan is recongnised as the true power of Japan, those of you who remain loyal to the Tokugawa shall be rewarded." Hirotada waved to the crowd with both hands as they broke into raptuous applause. He turned to the nearest guard. "My letters have been sent to the officers. Head to the main hall where they are to gather, once they have all arrived let them know I will make a formal address before official proceedings begin." The guard set off up the steps back towards the castle whilst Hirotada walked down the remainder of the steps to meet and greet some of his people. Edited by damo2986, 26/08/2011 - 10:38 am.

As Hirotada greets one of his many loyal subjects,Kurimoto Hiroshi, The subject (Kurimoto) asks the daimyo "My lord, There are rumors about that the Date are planning to betray us, are they really? And what of the Hattori? Their leader has ties to the shogun, though they have been our allies for ages." (P.S. why are we all talking like an RPG did i miss an announcement or something? )

Hirotada smiled at Kurimoto reassuringly and placed his right hand on the man's shoulder. "Do not worry about such things, these are matters that are being given careful consideration. Anything our so called allies do will not come as a surprise, we will remain one step ahead of them." As Hirotada removed his hand from Kurimoto's shoulder and turned to greet other people, Kurimoto opened his mouth to speak but was stopped by one of Hirotada's guards, it was obvious that Kurimoto had expended his quota of questions for today! The clue should be in the title, Shogun 2 Total War "Roleplay Edition". Kurimoto nods in understanding to the guard. As he leaves the castle and starts the journey home he thinks to himself "Good answer". But even with the Daimyo's great word he cannot help but fear for his Great Clan the Tokugawa . He senses a great storm is coming and feels he MUST join the fight and Defend his clan. Or die in the attempt.(P.S that possibility completely slipped my mind, thx.)

Hino stood beside the large doors that led to the Daimyo's Hall. It has been a day since he talked with the outlander. The first ideia of finding someone from the same clan as him seemed ludricous. There was also the possibility of leaving the tokugawa lands, but where would he go? The last remains of the Uesugi clan were doomed, and also nobody knew who he was, his father was careful to keep his bastard son a secret. The Date were allies with the Uesugi, but now that the realm divide occurred Hino would not risk going through war frontlines. There were the Hattori, however that clan was a mystery. He remembered the tales of his adoptive mother. "The Hattori are the most dangerous clan in Japan." she said. "They will do anything for their purpose. Even the shogun fears them, and with good reason. They have the best assassins. Every man would be wise to fear them". Hino's prolongued presence at the doors attracted the guards attention. "You th..." but he got interrupted. "Is the daymio receiving visitors? I have a petition." "He is. But before you enter, we'll need you to hand all of our weapons to us. It is forbidden to enter in the Daymio's Hall armed." Hino handed them the weapons he had carried with him all the journey. His weaponry consisted of a katana, a bow with some arrows, and a long curved hunting knife. Even so the guards inspected him after he gave up the weapons, and when they seemed pleased with their search, they let him in. The hall was neither big nor small, not pompous nor simple. The room was illuminated both with sunlight and with a big candelabrum full with candles. A long grey carpet sewn with the tokugawa emblem stretched itself from the door to the dayimio's feet. Hino noticed it was immaculate so he put off his boots. The walls were decorated with wooden sculptures and with tapestry that showed the clan's history. Servants hurried to their tasks ignoring the newcomer. Hino approached the Daymio. Beside him stood a white stonned pillar, with a meter oh height beautifully carved. On its front it was written "Scroll of fate". On top of it was a scroll. You could easily search for the information you need by scrolling up and down with the two little dark-wooden handlings that permited the paper rotation. Hino could see different handwritings, but he could not make out what was written. Hirotada was absorbed in a conversation with an intriguing character. He supported his weight on a cane and wore black and grey colours. He than said something and the Daymio took notice of the visitor. Hino made a stiff bow. "Good day, respectable Tokugawa Daymio. My name is Hino Akiharu, and I am here te request exile." Hino waited for a moment, but no one said a thing so he proceeded. "I am the nephew of the last Uesugi Daymio. I am, or rather was, the bastard son of his brother. I was risen under my father's roof, and I have been taught what a noble child should know. However, with the Uesugi clan's downfall, many lives were lost, including my family's ones. I have no place to return, and I do not wish to live my life running away, so I humbly request for exile". Saying all this to the person that made this situation happen was easier than Hino had imagined. Now, would his fate be the same as the fate of his half brothers? |

The Daimyo sat in silence staring intently at the man stood before him. He could not believe a member of the Uesugi family had managed to make his way into his hall. He hoped that his guards had searched the man well. He did not show any signs of nervousness and looked the man in his eyes. Hino waited patiently for the Daimyo to speak, he had said all that he had come to say and his fate was in the hands of the man sat on the throne. "You show either bravery, desparation or utter stupidity coming in here." Hirotada's voice was calm. "Lucky for you I am unsure as to which it may be. Sit down." Hirotada's voice raised slightly and Hino did as he was instructed. The Daimyo stood up and started to slowly walk around the room, circling around Hino like a vulture about to prey upon a rotting carcass. "I'm sure you are aware then that I am soon to leave for Fukushima, the last of the Uesugi's provinces, when that falls they will be no more?" Hirotada did not expect an answer and so when Hino opened his mouth to speak, Hirotada cut him off before he could utter a word. "What purpose did you come here for? You could have slipped away into the night, become someone else in a remote village somewhere, nobody would have known who you were." Hirotada's paced quickened as he mulled over various scenarios in his mind. As he reached Hino's front he stopped dead, looked down at him and clapped his hands. One of the doors slid open and a pair of guards walked through. "No, there is a motive to your attendance today. I cannot let you go now that you have visited me like this. Many a fool has let a relative of an enemy with a grudge walk free only to have them rise to power and return to slay that very fool for his stupidity. I will not suffer that same ill fate." Hirotada looked up at his guards. "Take him to the cellars, let the Kensei interrogate him. I WANT TO KNOW WHY HE IS HERE!" The two burly guard hoisted Hino off his feet effortlessly. Hino's shoutS and pleas to be heard echoed around the hall until the fusama slid shut once again leaving Hirotada stood deep in thought. |

Dakeu had been in the crowd of people atending the adress when this sceen broke out, Dakeu was brother to Atliete and had come to the provence to talk to the Daymio himself for a propersitio. luckily seeing how a member of the evil Uesugi had got so close to the Daimyo made Dakeu feel more confident. He walked up to the Daimyo and bowed before him. "My dearest lord" He began, "I come to you to offer a propersition. You see I am trained in melee combat and am offering my servises to you as one of your personal body guards, effective as when ever you want." Before the Daimyo could replie Dakeu carried on "And seeing how a sworn enemy of the Tokugawa managed to slip into the city grounds and even enter in the presence of you makes me think that you may need more protection. Think if that was a assassin, he would of had a easy chance to kill you. I do not come looking for money but a purpose and if that could be protecting you then i would be honoured. Dakeu stood up strait and awaited the response eagerly. |

As Kurimoto observes the Daimyo's hall he hears someone shouting for help. He thinks to himself "How many times have i heard that before". Then his fellow guard reminds him to keep up. He nods to him and they continue on their way to the port. For they have been told of someone spreading lies about the great the Daimyo Hirotada. For the Daimyo's Great name they MUST SILENCE him by any means necessary. They arrive at the port and see that this stupid man has climbed on his roof and is preaching his Shogun Propaganda. Most of the port guards are busy with honorless robbers stealing money from merchants throughout the port. Though 2 guards were sent to dispatch of the babbling buffoon. He was not just an idiot but an idiot with a bow and several arrows. He had horrible aim but somehow managed to hit one of the guards in the stomach. As Kurimoto moves to show this man the Consequences of slandering the Tokugawa he tells the other guard who has come with him to distract the crazed man while Kurimoto climbs up behind him. As the man tells of how the Daimyo is an incompetent leader and thanks to his Ignorant ambitions the Tokugawa are doomed to death by the shogun's forces, Kurimoto has climbed up behind him and gotten his faithful spear ready for the Cleansing of the Tokugawa port. As the man turns around Kurimoto plunges his spear into his chest with the strength of 5 tigers. The man looks into Kurimoto's eyes with despair, But instead of seeing mercy in Kurimoto's eyes the man sees only distain and utter contempt in Kurimoto's eyes. As the man's lifeless body rolls off the roof and thuds on the ground, Kurimoto jumps down and walks over to the injured guard where his best friend, the guard who was with him, and the other of the original two guards are kneeled beside him. He looks into the young guards eyes and sees great pain in them. He tells the young guard "You did everything you could, and remember we are to protect the Tokugawa Clan at all costs and you have paid the second highest cost behind death." He looks at his companions and says hurry let us get him to the temple where a priestess can save his life. "1...2...3! LIFT!!!" He shouts as the three of them lift their brother in arms and proceed to carry him to the temple. The Crowd cheers at the determination of their protectors. Kurimoto thinks to himself "This guard is only but a boy though he has the heart of bravest of warriors. May he be healed and returned to duty ASAP...after all the more the merrier."

Hino sat nervously on the chair. Hirotada observed him carefully. "I'm sure you are aware then ... WHY HE IS HERE!" The two burly guard hoisted Hino off his feet effortlessly. (damo's lines) Hino had expected this as an outcome, but still he felt extremely shocked. By the time he was reacovering from it, he was being dragged. He tried to resist but a well placed fist in his stomach make the air leave his lungs. Hino hung in the arms of the two soldier. Soon enough he was lying on the cold stone floor. The smell wasn't pleasant, but Hino got accustomed to it soon enough. He felt something warm coming down his cheeck from his forehead. It was blood from the impact. But Hino's mind hadn't space for detailes. Hino blaimed himself for his stupidty and innocence. He took a gamble he sould not have. But maybe the game wasn't over. Hope still remained, but the subdued hatred exploded and it's fire consumed Hino. Memories of his family, the only people that ever mattered to him, dying by sword. He knew the reason. It was the same reason he now found himself in the cell. He promised himself he would not wage vengeance, nor let himself be filled with hatred. "Vengeance is for the weak spirited" his father told him once. But right now those words seemed as hollow as a deamon's heart. "Of course you idiot, if you were him, and he were you, you would do the same thing!" shouted Hino to himself, however, logic did not calm him down. "And what hope are you thinking of you stupid kid? Everyone knows how a interrogation with a kensei may end..." continued he, disregarding his former thoughts. After a while Hino calmed down. But his mind couldn't stop thinking possibilities, each better than the last. And so he waited in the silent dark. |

Takahashi strode into the great hall towards the Daimyo and bowed before him. The Daimyo stayed silent waiting for him to speak "Your son is fine mighty Daimyo and says all is well in Mikawa however he is still asking for your presence in the castle for the chance to speak to you personally. Also mighty Daimyo he is wondering when he will be taken out to fight for the mighty clan" Takahashi then took a polite step back to wait for the Daimyo's answer P.S hope I am not breaching any rules and I created my character using history and the videos posted not copying and I hope it is within character creation rules and is ok with you Damo |

The Daimyo looked Dakeu up and down. "Young man, I appreciate your concern and am grateful for your offer but you cannot really expect me to have some stranger immediately appointed as one of my personal guards. I already have personal bodyguards, men who have been in my service for some time, men whose hands I would put my life into without a second thought. Such trust is not handed out but is earnt. If you do indeed aspire to become one of my personal guards then you need to show me that you are worthy of such a prestigious and honourable role." Hirotada reached over onto a small table by his throne and picked up a small brush, dipped it in a small pot of ink and began writing on some rice paper. Dakeu looked on intently, wondering what the Daimyo was doing. After a few minutes of scribbling the Daimyo folded the paper and stamped it with the Tokugawa seal. He beckoned Dakeu to step forward which he did hesitantly. Hirotada held out the freshly scrawled message in his right hand. "Take this letter to Yusei, he will do the necessary." Hirotada instructed. Dakeu looked confused. Hirotada noticed the bewilderd look on the man's face. "You want to prove yourself worthy? You will start from the basics in my army about to wage war with the Date. You will wield a spear and form part of one of my ashigaru units. Fight as you say you can and you will soon rise through the ranks no doubt. If we both make it out of the war with the Date alive, I will reconsider your proposal. Now speak with the Kensei, he will give you your equipment. Once you have spoken with him, make your way to Fukushima, I will see you there upon my return." Dakeu forced a smile, he did not want to offend the Daimyo. He bowed and then left. It was not the offer he was hoping, but there was still a chance he would be able to achieve his objective. ----------------------------------------------------------------- "NEXT!!" Hirotada called out. It had been a long day, people had been queuing outside his hall for hours, eager to have their chance to speak with their Daimyo, a rare opportunity. Another man strode in, he had an air of confidence about him. "Ahhh," Hirotada stood up. The man continued walking towards the Daimyo and then stopped a foot away. They bowed to each other. Takahashi delivered his message on behalf of Hirotada's son, Ieaysu. Once he had finsiehd, Hirotada spoke. "Good to see you again Takahashi. So my son wishes to speak with me now does he. All this time since he returned from the Date he has been avoiding me when I have returned to the castle. Well tell him that I am happy to see him. I am remaining here in Mikawa for another few days, he should know where to find me. As for his eagerness to fight, he can discuss that with me when we meet." Hirotada bowed at his son's Royal Guard and then returned to his throne. Takahashi bowed at the Daimyo and then headed out of the hall no doubt to inform Ieyasu about his father. After seeing the last two people walk out of the Daimyo's hall with strange looks on their faces, Yuki didn't feel very confident about his own proposal. Despite his doubts, he still walked/hobbled in. He would definitely have to see a doctor about that. Hirotada turned as Yuki came into the room and bowed. He motioned for him to speak. "My lord, I come to you both with a proposal and with words of enthusiasm. My proposal is that, as I have had a bumper harvest these past few years, I would like to supply your personal army with food and sake for future expeditions that you may have. My words of enthusiasm are: If your father could see you now, he would be so proud. You have fought off any and all clans that have threatened this clan's existance and he believes that you can make the final push to Kyoto. That is all, my lord." Yuki then bowed and awaited the Daimyo's response. |

The Daimyo smiled at Yuki's words. "You are too kind good man, a model Tokugawa clansmen indeed. My men will be most grateful for your generous offer. You look as if you could do with a moments rest, before you leave my castle, one of my guards will escort you through to the hall next door. There you can help yourself to some food and some tea, my Tatami Master Motohisa will finalise the details for the supplies and distribute it as necessary." Hirotada motioned for a guard by the door to assist Yuki. |

Rufus waited at the outside of the daimyo's hall and when he saw the other man being escorted into another room, Rufus walked in and bowed at the daimyo. THe daimyo then made a gesture letting him speak. ``Hello, my name is Rufus Hinkley, I am the assisstant of the assassin in charge of protecting your son.`` he said with an english accent ``You are the assisstant of the assassin in charge of eating my son?`` Hirotada said with a strange look on his face ``I am sorry honourable Daimyo, I have not perfected my japanese yet as I am from england and came here a couple of years ago. I meant that he is in charge of protecting your son`` ``Aah, that makes more sense``replied Hirotada`` anything strange happen around here while I was gone?'' '' We have not seen an assassin or a metsuke around here this past year. I do not know if your highness has heard of a small Hattori contingent trampling into the lands of Mino? THey did not cause any troubles, but I thought it would be good for your Daimyo to know.'' Hirotada seemed to start searching his mind to see if he had heard of that army. |
