Icorisu was working furriusley in the bamboo forest too cut enough for the new support beam as he wondered why they were their "maybe she was practicing acrobatics or one fell on on one of her ronin guards he had seen rotting wood on the floor when I entered" he thought then with meticulousness attention to detail he carved an image of Hotei on each plank he made of bamboo it took the greater part of the day to finish cutting and carving but it was worth it to please Fujiko-sama who he was discovering he had feelings for as more then apprentice to master |

Fujiko was looking over the pieces of paper with a frown. "This is all we have?" Rodrigo and Ircorisu nodded in response to the question. The Head Priestess sighed. Once again there had been less proposals in the Clan Assembly than she had hoped for. "We don't have much choice then. If we delay any longer, there won't be enough time for our people to vote. First of all, Icorisu, you made mention of a blitzkrieg last year. It's sound advice, but too vague to be considered for the proposal of the week. I would have needed more specifics to consider it. Last year it wasn't feasable either with the daimyo's demand for a new army, but I'd say it's a safe bet that Hirotada-sama has realized the urgency of the situation in the north now. Hopefully the Kensei will get his act together. Secondly we have this plea not to make vassals in the north. It seems that officers and people alike are frightened by the propsect of uprising, even though I could keep the Hatekayama under control with my eyes closed. Let that be a lesson to you. The people are not stupid by nature, but fear is one of the most potent weapons in politics. There's a lot of people from outside and even within the clan that would prey on that fear to get their way. Anyway, the whole question is rather philosophical right now. I've already decided not to vassalize the Hatekayama, even if only to keep an uneasy peace within the council. That leaves us with the proposal of one Rufus Hinkley, strange name. But his proposal is sound. That walking corpse of a Hattori nods off halfway during our discussions or desn't turn up at all. This is why we need the people. This year they'll fill in the lack of commitment by our Shinobi Elder. So we're going with that one." Fujiko stood up. "I'll set up the vote now. But I still want you to continue gathering those proposals. Even though we've already selected one this year, perhaps something good will come up that can be used next season, or even something the officers themselves would like to add to their orders for this season yet." As she was already halfway out the door, Fujiko remembered something and looked back once more. "Oh, and Icorisu-san. Good work with those support beams. Thank you for your hard work." |

I cannot make a post in a RP fashion because my character's storyline, so I'll post a regular post. My suggestion is: We have bribed an army with some very strong troops. Most of the troops in Hirotada's army ar ashigaru, and only now, elite troops like kisho ninja, naginata, and katana samurai are slowly gathering. SO what we can do is shuffling the troops between them, with Hirotada's army being composed of the best troops possible from all th eunits we have in the noorth. The rest, majorly a ashigaru army, could be lead by our other general. I can't remember his name, but it's the general that did the last conquest on Date, the sttlement that had the nanban trade port. This way, we could have a very strong army, and right beside it, a supportive one, or even an independent, picking up the less defended settlements. I have no sggestion on where they should be used, I'll leave this with the wiser people. |

Icorisu entered the temple court yard with 4 carts filled with stone noticing the high priestess he walked up to her and said "Milady I had an idea if we were to marry one of Hirotada-sama's daughters to mochikata he would become part of the family and he would eventually have children and with children gives the opportunity to have more generals and more daughters giving us a our clan more prosperity and increasing public order" he bowed and left for the gardens where he would make a fountain in the image of Benzaiten to liven up the dull grounds that surrounded the temple Just out the door he remembered something important "oh and Milady if they don't want a vassal in the north maybe they will accept a vassal in the lands of the Hattori or Yamana all those provinces are in the middle of our major armies where all our attention will be focused that way if they turn they will pay with their lives before the blade reaches our home." with that he bowed and went to work "oh yes may I make a fountain in the image of the goddess Benzaiten" Edited by Lord Kierstead, 20/09/2011 - 09:03 am.

Marcelino approached the guard at the castle gates of Mikawa, "I wish to lend my services to the Tokugawa Clan, i believe that the Swordmaster may have use for my knowledge and skills" The guard glared at the lean pale skined foreigner before him. "Do you have authority to meet with him?" "No sir, but..." "Then you cannot enter" "Will you give him a letter from me then?" The guard raised his eyebrows and replied, "I can deliver it to his chambers, but I cannot garentee that you will get a reply" "Thankyou sir, I will scribe a message now." Marcelino handed the guard a sealed letter (PM) written in rough charaters, he had learned the Japanese writing on his journey from Hitachi. Edited by deadmanwalking, 19/09/2011 - 02:00 am.

Icorisu walked into the temple and approached carefully Fujiko-sama not exactly sure as how to say this "milady" he said in a voice barely above a whisper "I have come to inform that I am to running for the position of the Shinobi Elder this is out of no disrespect for you and I shall always be your apprentice even if I am elected if you need anything just let me know and I will be ready to help you faster than the Northern winds" with that he fell silent waiting for a response and preparing for anger |

"I see," Fujiko said simply. She suppressed a smirk as she saw that Icorisu had flinched the moment she raised her voice. "Tea?" she asked in a mild tone. The man nodded. After a servant had brought both of them a cup of green tea Icorisu seemed to relax a bit. "They are good storytellers, those foreigners," the Head Priestess said. Icorisu blinked. Obviously he didn't understand his mistress immediately. "Recently I heard a tale about an ancient clan from the west calling themselves the Brutii," Fujiko continued. "They say that they had a council remarkably similar to our own. Among their numbers was a woman, Drusilla Germanica. She started out as a mere slave, but got noticed by the Imperator of the house and came to work for him. After a while she became invested with the Censor, a man who was in station close to our Tatami Master, though he actually managed to keep a council of governors running without firing them. Drusilla did quite well there as governor of her home town, garnering even more experience and acknowledgement. In the end she, too, ran for office and was elected to the highest office of the Brutii, Pontifex Maximus. There she worked alongside many fine officers to create an empire that would last for hundreds of years. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?" Icorisu still didn't seem to trust himself to speak. Fujiko smiled. "I'm saying that a man who has worked himself up through the ranks such as yourself would certainly be a fine addition to the council, even though you'd be missed here. I wish you well in your endeavour to become Shinobi Elder. But know that you'll always have a place here in the temple as well." Just then Ryu entered the room and kneeled down. "Fujiko-sama," he said, "Furinji Daisuke, high priest of the Ikko-Ikki clan, has arrived and requests an audience with you." Fujiko nodded. "No doubt about the recent misunderstanding in Kaga. Offer him some refreshments and tell him that I'll speak to him in the morning. He must be tired after such a long journey." As Ryu left the room to carry out his orders, Fujiko stood up. "Think about the tale I have relayed to you, good Icorisu. But in the meantime I expect you to continue bringing me clan proposals for the next season. Good night for now, my friend." Icorisu walked in disheartened look on his face he bowed deeply and tried to look more like his old self but anyone could see through his bluff "Milady I had an idea we could give the lands of wakaza and tango to the Ikko-Ikki through diplomacy and also If you would not mind a request I think we should have Mochikata merry ed to the next princess to come of age to cement his loyalties in these trying times and to bring more children into the daimyo's family" with that he stood still and a statue witing for a responce as although he came here in the guise of business he needed to speak to someone who he trusted (sorry messed up on my computer) |

With a single look Fujiko told a servant to fetch two cups of tea for Icorisu and herself. "Don't look so glum, Icorisu-san," she told him. "I'm sure there were good reasons why somebody else was chosen over you as Shinobi Elder. I'm quite intrigued to meet her. That doesn't mean your talents aren't appreciated here. As a matter of fact, I've decided that your apprenticeship has gone on long enough. If you choose to, I will give you a test. Pass it and I will make you a full priest and my second in command. Your continued service has made you far more deserving of it than Rodrigo. While we're on the topic. The daimyo is holding a tea ceremony tomorrow and the invitation extends to advisors and aides as well. I'd be honoured, if you would be my escort on this occasion." Fujiko grinned. "Provided you keep what you just said about Ieyasu-sama to yourself. Hirotada is now back and will take the helm again. I do not share your sentiment about his son, though. He's young, but he's also a strong character and will make a good daimyo some day. He hasn't offended me in the slightest, as I find myself pretty much agreeing with his evaluation of the council at present time. I've always been prepared to face the consequences, should it come to hostilities with the Ikki." Fujiko took a sip of tea. "Now about your suggestion. It's the second time you mentioned it to me, so I owe you an explanation as to why I don't think it a good idea. Mochikata-sama's loyalty is not in doubt. Marrying him off to the daimyo's daughter would be a waste. Better to have her in reserve for eventual new vassals. And if it's about getting him into the family, he can always be adopted. I'm sure Mochikata-sama can find a suitable lady and produce some children on his own. The thought about giving Wakasa to the Ikki via diplomacy is a good one, though, and has occured to me as well. I'm certainly going to mention it in the Daimyo's Hall." (Edit: Or I would have. I just checked and it doesn't look like there's an option in Shogun 2 for that. Looks like there's a spot where the old diplomacy system was better after all. )Fujiko's face then became serious. "Now, we must get to work. There has been not a single good proposition last year. I am not going to allow that to happen twice in a row. There has got to be a vote. Spread the word around again. Let everyone know that their suggestions are always welcome here. Before the next set of orders, we will have a Clan Proposition of the Week." Edited by Naughty_Ranko, 28/09/2011 - 09:55 am.

Icorisu unmistakably brightened at that moment he was quite happy that he was appreciated and was also happy to be given a chance to not only be invited to the tea ceremony where he could meat the daimyo but also to become a full adviser to mistress Fujiko-sama "Milady it would be my honor to take your test and to be your escort to the ceremony but I have a few questions regarding the both the test and the ceremony." "First about the ceremony what do I wear my battle armor, my ceremonial armor,a good kimono, or should I wear my priest robes should I pass your test and also what are the rules and customs I should know about the Tea Ceremony?" "and concerning the test what am I being tested on so that I know what to study for and also is their any other duties that I will be given if I pass?" he stood ready for whatever was forth coming and as happy as he could be |

Fujiko chuckled as the man before her, who had just looked like the world had come to an end, was now bubbling with questions like a ten-year-old. "Just be yourself, Icorisu-san. That's all I ask. As for wardrobe a kimono would be preferable. Be polite and always address the daimyo and officers with a -sama or -dono at the end. If you're in doubt, just do what everybody else does. As for your test. We'll get to that after the tea ceremony. There's no need to study. We'll do a simple purification ritual. Don't worry. I'll walk you through it when the time comes. Afterward we'll come back to the main temple and I'm gonna ask you a series of questions. Just answer them honestly and to the best of your abilities. The rest will be up to the gods. Should you pass, it will be your responsibility to take charge of the temple, if I am on travels. You would also get a say about which proposition would be voted on, should there be more than one suitable." Fujiko stood up. "Now, get some rest. I'll see you at the tea ceremony tomorrow." As she was halfway out the door, the priestess turned her head and looked at her apprentice with a warm smile. "Did anyone ever tell you that you have a lovely shouting voice? When you yell at the people in the Sake Den to bring their proposals forth, one can hear it all the way up here at the castle." |

Chikage sighed heavily; a temple was no place for a kunoichi such as her to visit, yet there it stood before her, in all its magnificence. She had been standing motionless before the building for several minutes now, much to the puzzlement of various passers-by, but she could not bring herself to enter the building; the head priestess had requested a private audience with her at the daimyo’s tea ceremony, and whilst it may have seemed a rather casual invitation to the guests who had been present, she had gotten the impression that she had no choice in the matter. In truth she had wanted to speak to the priestess for a long time, ever since the fateful night which had changed her life for good, but now that the opportunity presented itself before her she found the idea to be rather daunting. Despite the lofty position that she had obtained she would never be able to consider herself as more than a lowly assassin, a battered and bruised child being chastised for her various trespasses. Her breathing erratic with apprehension, she stepped inside. |

As Chikage entered the main hall of the temple, Fujiko was busy preparing Icorisu's test. Nontheless she looked up and smiled. "Welcome, honoured Shinobi Elder." She gave the people present a wave with her hand and they respectfully left the two alone. "Will you sit or do you prefer the support beams? I had them reinforced, you know." "So you know," Chikage said simply. She didn't seem surprised that Fujiko had figured out her identity. "Naturally," Fujiko replied, standing up and facing the new Shinobi Elder. "Your cover story is clever. Nobody could deny it, but your late 'father'." The high priestess circled around the woman, observing, gaging her emotions. The oppressive atmosphere of death had lifted from her aura since they last met. Or rather it had shifted. The cold-blooded will to accomplish her mission to kill the Tokugawa leadership had been replaced by a righteous fury against her former masters. Fujiko was certain that right now, right in this very room stood a force deadlier to the Hattori than a thousand armies. "Take off your clothes," Fujiko said bluntly as she stopped behind Chikage's back. "Excuse me?" the kunoichi said indignantly as she spun around. Not losing any time Fujiko proceeded to poke at the woman's ribs. Chikage flinched visibly at the pain, even though only a little bit of pressure had been applied. "Hm, as I thought. There was something odd about the way you held yourself during the tea ceremony." This time more gently she laid a hand on Chikage's ribcage. "How in the world did you not pass out from that pain? There is a hot spring in the backyard. Feel free to take a dip in it. I dare say it will aid in your recovery. I'm sure we'll get a chance to talk more soon, but for now you must excuse me. I've got an exam to prepare." As Fujiko walked through the door, she turned her head once again and smiled at her. "And don't worry. Your secret is safe with me, Chikage-chan." When she was out in the courtyard, she found Genma, one of her ronin. "Please make sure the Shinobi Elder isn't disturbed while she is in the backyard. And let Icorisu know that his test will commence soon. Tell him to meet me at the small waterfall outside the city gates." Genma bowed and walked off to carry out the instructions. |

A wave of relief washed over Chikage, as she felt the tension that had been building up recently disappear with a few simple words; there really was no doubt as to why Fujiko was the head priestess, she was at once both commanding and reassuring. A few more conversations like that and Chikage thought that the priestess would be capable of dispelling all of her remaining doubts, multitudinous though they may be. For the moment though she would take the priestess up on the offer of a dip in the hot springs. The warm water against her skin was painful at first, and she had developed some ugly scars on her torso as a result of her wounds, but it quickly helped her to relax. She had never been treated to such luxuries before, it was almost serene. Slowly but surely she began to feel that a great weight was being lifted from her shoulders. |
