At the entrance to the temple complex a large scroll has been hung. It bears the following words:

"Dear people of the Tokugawa,

the first Clan Proposition of the Week has been selected and can now be voted on. During the last Clan Assembly and even before that people have found our naval forces lacking in both number and action. Hence the first proposition reads as follows:

Recruit more ships to protect our sea shores and use them to blockade ports and raid enemy trade routes.
(by an old man (lovetotalwar))

The Head Priestess adds:
The small contigent at the northern trade port could already be attacking the nearby Date trade route while still being able to protect our trade ships.

Further ships could be recruited in Echigo. They could both raid trade routes and keep an eye on the nearby island of Sado which is occupied by a rather large Date force right now.

Vote now. If you want it, the petition will be made an offical order and brought before the daimyo and the officers.

After reading Hammer's post, a question popped in my mind.

When a ship blockades a trade route, de we get the money from it?

If it is so, I strongly agree with ship recruiting in detriment to certain (not all) building work and troop/agent recruitment.

So, the ships would:

--> Make the enemy clans make less money
--> Make us make more money
--> Scout an approach of the chosokabe.
--> Defend us from the incoming by sea chosokabe armies.

From this prisma, it looks like a good deal to me.

Yes, raiding trade routes would generate income for us. It would also deny our enemies that income.
