As Fujiko entered the security council, Icorisu and Kenshin were deep in discussion about the upcoming projects. She unceremoniously put a letter on the table in front of them, not even acknowledging her former disciple. "A merchant named Lelouche says there's an unknown fleet approaching. We don't know who they are, but fleets from the south don't come up here for social calls. Could be reinforcements of the Chosokabe or the Shogun. But they're only transport ships. Close off the harbour to all ships but our own. That should take care of it." She paused for a moment, thinking. "Show me what you've got on the watchtower that went dark." A servant brought her some papers and the Head Priestess' eyes darted across the lines. "Your prime suspects are Nagao Yusei and Isamu Masao. You should concentrate on them," she said after a moment's thought. The two men looked at each other baffled. "How do you figure?" Fujiko pointed at a paragraph in the report. "There's mention of a great number of horse tracks. Whoever did this has a good number of cavalry at their disposal. The only mercenary band of horsemen in the country are the Black Riders. The mon of the fallen is also black. Can't be coincidence. I believe Henzai-san has kept tabs on the one-eyed general since he tried to join the security council." "Furthermore a dying man that was interrogated said something along the lines of: 'You can't stop the Nagao clan.' The former Kensei's last name is Nagao. The link should be obvious. Letting a watchtower go up in flames fits his behaviour. He hasn't achieved anything of strategic value. He has flamboyantly announced his presence to us, while thinking he's the master of stealth. And he's dumb and arrogant enough to think of this as a major victory." Fujiko turned to leave the hall. "Take care of the League of One-Eyed Lunatics as soon as possible. We've got bigger things to worry about than them," she said over her shoulder. |

"alright, you stay here and focus on training the Yari cavalry in rudimentary charge tactics, I will go see Daisuke and tell him to gather the others and search for these 2 men." With that, he opened a screen door and strode out. |

Kenshin reported back to mikawa a week after leaving. Walking into the training grounds, he addresses the volunteers. "men, listen up. You have been recruited to combat dissenters within the Tokugawa dominion. The main army is unable to intercept these threats due to the war against the ashikaga shogunate and the Hattori. We need you to patrol the area around Mikawa under command of Icorisu. I will be searching into the rumors as to who is leading this rebel force, but first we will try to instill basic combat tactics and positioning in you. Now, bow cavalry, follow me to the ranges. Yari cavalry, follow Icorisu to the plains outside of the castle." Over the next few weeks, while Kenshin's agents were substantiating the rumors against the former Kensei, Kenshin and Icorisu began to turn volunteers into warriors. Kenshin improved the bow skills of already competent archers, and taught them to ride in a mass circle to create an endless volley of fire against the enemy, while maintaining mobility. Icorisu, meanwhile, taught formations of charging and showed the riders how to create an en masse charge into enemy lines. After these weeks of training was done, a simulation was performed for the capital city, with the daimyo himself in attendance, in which the bows harassed hundreds of straw dummies whilst Yari cavalry flanked and overran the dummies. A celebration was held inherent courtyard of the palace. Suddenly, Shingen ran into the courtyard. "my lord! A chosokabe fleet is sailing for the capital!!!" |

Icorisu stood enraged by the attack "Infantry Create the Cloud Dragon this is not a drill we are under attack, Kenshin take the Daimyo to the castle with a third of our forces I will hold the enemy here but if not you are our last hope. Archers prepare a flaming volley try to take out at least one transport before it land" |

Kenshin spit his sake out on the ground and contemplated the situation. "No, take the full force of cavalry, they are useless behind walls. I will remain here with the garrison that can be raised, which should be adequate if the enemy reaches our walls. The citadel has enough fortifications to last a prolonged siege until a relief force can be summoned." At this point, Kenshin noticed that Yuki, Hikaru, and Daisuke had arrived as well. "Daisuke, your previous experience as a helmsman on a medium bune will serve us well, go assist the fleet in the harbor. Yuki and Shingen, guard the daimyo, he MUST be kept alive. Hikaru, ride with Icorisu, see if you can prevent their march. Everyone! This is our test, this is our first blood, this is our battle! Now, ride for the shores! They will be here within a fortnight at worst!" |

After several tense days, news reached mikawa that Icorisu was successful in a dismounted defense against the landing force. The alarm was lifted in Mikawa, the garrison disbanded for now, and the spies sent back to Kyoto. Kenshin and Daisuke sat at a teahouse in the town when Icorisu arrived with the recruited force. Kenshin stood and spoke to Icorisu as the cavalry force set off to the barracks and stables. "well my friend, it seems or force was successful in its efforts, now, let's give them rest while we make our plans against this one-eyed league." |

I have alot of information of this rebellion and where they might me hiding or at least where we can pick up their trail. So what have you found so far that we can discuss?" said Tanimoto. |

Kenshin sat up slightly baffled. "excuse my rudeness, but we were not expecting you this soon. I was having my... Allies look into your background, just so that we may know your credentials, but seeing as how they have not returned... Please, tell us about your skill sets." |

Tanimoto was a bit baffled by what this men just said. "Alright, I have a total of 200 men under my control. My father was a Royal Guard and he trained me in both the katana and the bow. My men are a mix group of ashigaru bow, yari, and sword, mostly yari. I have first hand experience with this rebellion and can give you insight of information from a rebeillion samurai I captured currently in the dungen. But only Daimyo and i have access just to keep it on the down low. And I never got your names?" as Tanimoto looked at the two men. |

Icorisu bows not fully convinced "Icorisu Nobunaga master of the Sagami sword school commander of three hundred Yari Katana Naginata and bow samurai and if there are no objections the one to slay the general of the rebellion who is rumored to be the kensei who caused my life to be ruined " |

"That is what I am led to believe if what you say is true. Because the prisoner said that their Daimyo is someone close to us and during the battle near the watch tower they ambushed from flanking them while making their escape. So it could possibly be him. But don't mock me with that bow like I'm going to backstab you." |
