"My friends I have had an Idea we know that the rebellion is in one of the forests I suggest that I lead a patrol to sweep each of the forests and atempt to flush them out of the forests and hopefully place them into a suicidal march towards our battle lines, what do you three think" |

Tanimoto thought about it for a second then said, "Sure go right ahead if you want to get killed. Most likely they have guards on their perimeter and once they spot you they will flank and ambush you. It could work in theory but we don't know the exact size of thier force. When I fought them they had less then a hundred but I bet a thousand koku that more have join their ranks. I say we continue patrolling the outter wall of the citie and look for any sign of the enemy and prepare for battle. I would rather not lose you and 300 men before we are even attacked because we already know they are planning something against Mikawa and the Daimyo as we speak. I would be better for us to just stay here and prepare for battle," said Tanimoto. He looked around the room to see what the others thought. He saw Aliete nodding as if in agreement, Kenshin stayed quiet, and Icorisu looked down as if thinking on what he said. |

Suddenly Kenshin had a revelation. "I think I know when they will strike! With all of the Daimyo's forces at Kyoto prepared for one final attack, they will strike at Mikawa then. It would be a symbolic gesture of defiance that they would take the capital at the moment of the daimyo being crowned as shogun. I agree with tanimoto, we should keep our forces prepared at all times, as news of the capture of Kyoto will reach us after the rebels form their lines. If no one has any better courses of action, I think we should carry out with this plan. When the time of battle falls upon us, tanimoto and Icorisu can lead the charges, and Aliete and I will lead the infantry garrison." |

Icorisu reflected on Tanimoto's proposal "I do agree with that course of action but how many men would be disshonrable enough to fight against the Daimyo who is shogun Maybe 5-6 hundred we have around the same number but we are 85% samurai and what samurai would join with rebels I agree to stay and that they are a threat but we should also arrange a surprise for them what if we were to have an ambush during the battle I could separate my unit from the army and fake a retreat leading them into a line of yari ashigaru who will run out of the doors of the many houses" |

((Sorry for late post my computer has been playing up)) Aliete had sat back and watched the talks that had been going on. He took out a map from a near by draw. The others crowed roundand they all looked at the largest forest on the map. "Thats where thay will be, but tell me how many lives will we have to sacifise? If we defend the town, have soilders on every post than we may be able to hold of a attack. Im afraid I think you will be a pig in slaughter house if you march into there lands. Atleast cosider the options before inoccent men get killed in a battle that does not have to happen like this. |

Tanimoto looked at Aliete and thought that he misheard him. "That is what I said. We should stay in the castle and be ready for battle. We will have the advantage in the castle since they won't be able to attack us all at once. Of our units we have 300 samurai and 200 ashigaru units in Mikawa. From what I saw at the watchtower just about all of their units were samurai. I agree with you Icorisu that not many Tokugawa men would join this rebellion, but that doesn't mean that our enemy would not send troops to our enemy to distract us while they fight on the front lines. So I wouldn't be completely surprise if I see Shimazu, Hattori, Ito, and Chosokabe among the Rebels." Edited by AlexMaster, 30/10/2011 - 01:53 pm.

Icorisu gave a smile that came to him all to rarely as he agreed Tanimoto and had stumbled on to an idea in that moment "Well then why don't we call on the Takoaka and Ikko-Ikki they can both have armies here faster then we could pull men from the front especially the Ikki who are all over the country side and also if we combine the four of us we could turn all the remaining ashigaru into samurai it took me and Kenshin about 2.5 months to make 300 samurai with four we could be done in less than 1.25 months" Edited by Lord Kierstead, 30/10/2011 - 01:06 pm.

Aliete turned to Tanimoto "Forguve me Tanimoto but i was just saying that those are our options and that we should chose carfeuly instead of rushing into things. Now Icorisu do you really think we have time? The rebble army will be recruiting and training just as we are and I am sure it will not be long till they attack perhasps the Ikkoikki may help but it would take for to long for them to reach us. We must stand firm use the man that we have and the battle grounds wisely, if we are going to win this battle it will need to take place where we want it. I think we need to realise this is Mikawas fight and that we are alone, all the nearby settle ments are no better off than we are and conot spare troops. Aliete leant back on his chair, waiting for the others to speak. |

"then it is settled. I will recall my agents. We will stay in the citadel and wait for their strike. In the meantime, we shall gather foodstuffs from the surrounding farms and begin to poison the wells from around the forest. My agents will take care of any covert methods. Now, let us gather our forces and prepare." |

"Poison! You will kill all the farmers in the area. That is absurd!!" yelled Tanimoto. "Even if more rebels die then farmers it will take months for that poison to leave the wells and by then the attack might have already happen and the rest of the deaths are on your own hands," as Tanimoto pointed at Kenshin. "We should wait here and not go to these dishonorable tactics of poison. We can handle the rebels with out it anyway. Icorisu gather your men and I will gather mine and we will start the preparations for battle. Do we have any storages of weapons and armor that we can outfit our men," Tanimoto said quickly. After a deep breath to calm himself Tanimoto said "I know that you mean well Kenshin but something like that should not be taken into consideration." |

"Not exactly my friend" Icorisu said with an arrogant smile "The poison could help I am not above a poisoning the best we could do is put it in the wells closest to the forests near the ransacked farms that way no one dies and the rebels do as for troops we are done the training and the siege is almost completely planned so we are prepared prepare yourself for war none of us is to be caught without full battle Armour from now to next year" |

"tanimoto, I am shocked by your lack of confidence. The poison is lighter than water and will not mix, so it will be gone within weeks" Kenshin then took a vial and poured a quick running liquid into his tea. After about a minute, the 2 liquids settled into 2 distinct layers. "see? It is also non lethal, though it will damage a person's digestive system. So, Hikaru will be able to spread the sickness within a week." |

Tanimoto glared at these two. "I have confidence Kenshin but in something so dishonorable I will have no connection to that." He turned to Icorisu and said, "Do you have no honor left in you priests. This is what caused you to be kicked out by the Head Priestess. And even if we did do it in the wells near the forest there are still travelers, merchants, and farmers moving their herds that will drink from it!" Tanimoto was almost in a rage by now. He never saw anyone discuss such dishonorable and killing innocents just to get a slight advantage. "If the Daimyo hears this it could be your heads. Because he is very honorable and doesn't go to such lowes as poison just to get a slight advantage and risk hundreds of innocents." He then turns to Kenshin and seeing the liquid in two layers still shackes his head in frustration. " Even if they are in two layers the bucket will remix them together and who ever drinks it will still be bed ridden for a couple of weekes costing them time to get better. And if it only lasts 2 weeks it still might cause alot of damage to the surronding areas because where do you think that poison goes hmmmm! Do you just think it disappears and never comes back! NO, the plants in the area absorb it and might possibley kill it." Tanimoto sat down on a chair and stayed silent for a minute to calm himself. After that he finnally said, "how many lives are you willing to sacrifice just to gain a small advantage over the enemy. Because for me I choose the smallest amount, and the smallest amount is to not use the poison." With that Tanimoto looked at Icorisu, Kenshin and then to Aliete seeing which one responds first. |

Icorisu was enraged "First of all you insolent Dog! I have more honor in my toe then you do in your whole body!" "Second no one has used those roads for over 2 years ever since the battle at trhe watch tower and the raids" "And Third the Daimyo said 'By any means nessisary' we have the right to snuff it out and unless Aliet dissagrees we have a clear majority" Icorisu clamed vissably and mumbled under his breath that only Kenshin right next to him could hear "I was foolish and influenced by the former Kensei I have gained almost all my honor back he would exept me now even if I was accused of Murder OOC: Damo Did say by any means nessisary look at his post in the second or tird page paragraph three I checked before posting |

"Please stop this! We are ment to be fighting the enemy, not each other. Icorisu as long as the Daimyo agrees than i think you may proceed but i do agree with Tanimoto is right its not a noble way to die even if they are rebble scum but i suppose we do not have time to argue." Aliete looked at Kenshin "Im worried they have agents in the city, anythink that we do to them they may just throw back at us. I think that this is risky but you know more than i do at these things." |
