Uh, hi, I just want to suggest this rather good game called Lord of the Rings, Battle for Middle Earth. Strategy game, constant battles to make you think Damo, all good fun. A bit faster paced to some of the other games you have LP'ed, but it is just a suggestion.

Battle for Middle Earth is a bit too...statute for a Lets Play, in my opinion. My personal experience of playing it was not very enjoyable, because it didn't really try and immerse me in the story.

Anyway, I didn't enjoy the original Battle of the Middle Earth that much. BFMEII had a War of the Ring mode that I really enjoyed and it gave me alot more freedom than the original did. The expansion pack Rise of the Witch-King adds even more options. A lot of fun. Besides, for the evil side you have the choice between Mordor, Isengard, goblins of Dul Guldor (I don't know if I said that right) and with the expansion pack Agmar.

I had a lot of fun with my own evil run on BFME, but it became very... formulaic at the end. I just did all my battles with my fully upgraded Uruk Hai army; only thing I ever needed to build was a ballista for smashing down gates. It was simultaneously exhilarating to be so unstoppable, and yet so dull because every battle played out the same.

I don't know what this is and can't find any decent explanation/youtube videos. Could someone explain?

RTS game based on the Lord of the Rings films. Four factions: Gondor, Rohan, Isengard, and Mordor. Good campaign involves the former two, Evil the latter two. Soldiers gain experience and upgrades through combat and research respectively, and the main campaign allows surviving units to retain upgrades and ranks they already received. In other words, veteran units = harder to kill, lots of veteran units = virtually unstoppable. Isengard is practically broken since not only do Uruk Hai survive better than Mordor orcs, but their main enemy is Rohan, which consists entirely of wooden buildings; i.e. fire arrows can destroy any of their buildings, including the gates. You'd only really need a blank spot in your army for siege ballista when attacking the more structurally durable Gondor territories, as siege equipment does not transfer from battle to battle.

I take all your points, and while I agree that Isengard is broken, and the game can be repetitive, maybe add some limitations to make the game more interesting, for example only melee units and heroes, no upgrades, other such things.

A very good game, very enjoyable but Damo doesn't like Lord of the Rings (We are not all perfect :P ) and its not the sort of LPing kind of game. But it is still a grate game, I love it and often play it.

I played as orcs of the misty mountains, and it was a very challenging campaign. All around are enemies with high quality troops, whereas the orcs only have numbers.

Many follow the ideia that quality is better than numbers, and it is true, however, fighting on the side that has a swarm of weak creatures can be even harder.

DAmo said the he would not play this mod, so yeah...
