Chapter 19 Losses Triasha walked towards Knifes’ town, which was now in full view. He was sensing erratic Trianchu power explosions from within the city, as if someone had lost control of their powers. As he came within nine hundred yards of the outer walls, Triasha felt a heavy pressure as a figure appeared on the top most steeple on what looked to be a church. The figure disappeared and reappeared on one of the walls of the town; the pressure intensified dramatically. Triasha knew this had to be Knifes, but he was not absolutely sure, this power was wholly demonic. Then the figure appeared fifty feet away from Triasha. He was right, it was Knifes, but he was also right about the demonic pressure. Triasha could feel Black Heart’s power flourishing inside of Knifes. Knifes’ appearance had changed considerably, more so then their first encounter with him inside his new body. His eyes had a reddish glow to them, his hair had turned black and spiky, and sharp claws replaced his fingernails. His skin even seemed to have changed a little, looking almost scale-like. When he spoke it sent a shiver down Triasha’s spine, it sounded dead and hollow, “Ah, so Triasha, we finally meet alone without anyone to interrupt us. Heh, I can feel your anger; your loathing of me. It is to be expected, especially after how Kynoto told you what I did to your poor Naomi. Though it really was too easy….she was weak, she was helpless, and a perfect candidate for a sacrifice. You could have prevented that you know, heh.” Knifes snickered as a grin split his lips. Triasha was already mad at Knifes, but now he was reeling, he wanted nothing less then to kill Knifes in the most gruesome way possible. The veins in his neck were pulsing visibly and his left temple was twitching. Knifes laughed manically. “You…bastard…I am going to kill you!” Triasha said, his face contorting, with each word, in anger. Knifes now watched as if he was amused. Triasha powered up and released his Shadow Angel form. Knifes sniggered and said, “You think that can defeat me, phe. It’s going to take a Hell of a lot more then a mere Shadow Angel to kill me Triash…. What?!” Knifes had seen something he had never seen before. Triasha was still powering up, his power level was now two billion, about seventeen fold more then Kynoto’s had been. Triasha laughed now and said, “Your in for some fun Knifes! Jihad of the Angels!” As he finished this, his third wing turned white and three more sprouted from his lower back. Knifes was mesmerized now. “Heh, intriguing. You found a way to access a new body type? This is getting interesting. Let us see just how strong you are now Triasha,” Knifes said calmly as he drew his sword. Knifes was on top of Triasha before he had a chance to catch his breath. Knifes laid blow after blow on Triasha who was putting up a feeble attempt at blocking the attacks. Knifes was striking harder now, Triasha was deflecting more of his attacks, he want to maximize the damage. “Pathetic, is this all your capable of Triasha?” Knifes spat. “Blood Scythe!” Triasha called out. In a maelstrom of wind Knifes was thrown back as a weapon materialized in Triasha’s hands; a massive and deadly looking scythe. Triasha whirled it expertly on his palm as he charged at Knifes; he drew a second sword from his back and powered up, ready for whatever Triasha was about to do. Triasha took a firm hold on the scythe and swung it as hard and fast as he could. Knifes caught it between his two blades but had not stopped it, the kinetic energy of the heavy weapon was too much for him to cope with. The blade bit into Knifes left solder as he felt an odd pain where it had struck. As Triasha retreated slightly to view the damage he had done Knifes was able to see what had happened. Triasha’s blade was infested with Blood Mites; highly aggressive parasitic insects that feed on blood and are lethal if left untreated as they multiply extremely rapidly, killing the host in a matter of minutes, their only weakness is to fire. Knifes smirked slightly and whispered something as the mites caught fire and spurted out of his shoulder, raining on to the ground. “That’s a dirty trick Triasha, you have to stoop as low as that to win?! Ha, truly and utterly pathetic!” Knifes yelled. It was Triasha’s turn to laugh this time, Knifes look on in an interested fashion. Knife’s noticed that Triasha had stopped gathering Trianchu; he had a feeling that he was going to find out why shortly. Triasha stopped laughing and said, “Whew, Arc Angel takes a lot out of me. Heh, but this isn’t my final stop. I had to build up power for my next transformation, all that was, was a diversion. But I have sufficient Trianchu to do this now. I prepared this just for you Knifes, just for you…. so I could kill you! Arc Angel’s Redemption…” Triasha yelled. The moon eclipsed the sun and shadow fell across the lands around Triasha and Knifes. Knifes could feel Triasha’s power growing by leaps and bounds. It was now at around seventeen billion. Knifes was currently at twenty five billion. One by one, Triasha’s six wings started to fade to black. As each one turned, Triasha’s power rose slightly, but once they all turned, Triasha’s power shot up exponentially and stopped at fifty billion. Knifes was in a state of shock. He had not thought Triasha was capable of this. “Heheheh, how do you like my Shadow Arc Angel form Knifes? Does it scare you? This was the second time I have accessed it, I don’t know many skills yet, and I have not trained with it at all, but as you can see, it is a force to be reckoned with.” Triasha said, a smile on his face. Knifes was now laughing. Triasha looked a little surprised, he was many times stronger then Knifes at present. “Ha, you think my power is so modest that you could threaten me with that? HA, I know you felt that little mishap a while ago when I lost control of the barrier. You do not know what that was, do you? Well I will show you…hahahahaha!!” Knifes laughed hysterically. Triasha was now apprehensive, this was not looking good; Knifes had been bluffing his power all this time. Knifes held out his hand and a book, probably the Necronomicon, came into Triasha’s vision. It glowed a sinister red in the darkness as Knifes opened it and read something from it. Knifes’ power jumped to one hundred fifty billion in an instant and then started to rise some more. Finally it halted at two hundred and seventy billion. Knifes laughed harder now as he sensed Triasha’s fear. Triasha was horrorstruck, he had walked into a trap. But nonetheless, he was not going to lose to Knifes, not after what he had done to his life, what he had done to Naomi was unforgivable, and Triasha would make sure that Knifes paid for it dearly. Knifes now chuckled and flicked a finger at Triasha. “Let’s see what this does to you,” he said with glee. Triasha had been braced for an attack, but instead was sent into a visionary trance. He looked around the room he was standing in. It was a large cavern with many dragon paintings along the walls as far up as he could see. Around the perimeter of the ground there were channels that led to a circle in the center; there was another network of channels that led to the back of the room to a pedestal that held the Necronomicon, and in the center of the cavern was Knifes, he was holding Naomi in place with a binding spell. Triasha’s heart skipped a beat, he knew what was to come next. He then heard Kynoto say, “"Why Naomi Knifes?! Why do you need her?!!" "Why? Oh come on Kynoto, I know you have got an imagination, come on and guess!" Knifes interjected. When Kynoto did not answer Knifes said, a hint of disappointment in his voice, "Can't guess huh? Haha, oh well, you weren't the smart one of your family, according to Triasha that is. I need Naomi because of three things. Number one, I need a female sacrifice. Number two, I need a female that knows me, doesn't matter how well she knows me. lastly and most importantly, I need her because I need a virgin. Does that answer your question Kynoto?" Knifes asked comically. "Yes, unfortunately, it does. Knifes, I'll say it again, stay this madness. Nothing good can come of it. The Necronomicon was sealed up for a reason, because it is too powerful and too evil to be controlled. Why, just look at you, it has already started to gain control of you..," Kynoto said as Knifes interrupted him, "The only thing that controls me is me! Nothing and no one else! You have no idea what I am capable of!" Knifes yelled. At this point Naomi had awaken. "Oh good, our guest of honor has awoken. Now Kynoto, watch me slay this woman and truly become a God!" Knifes procured a lethal looking dagger out of thin air and held it to Naomi's neck. "Kynoto do something, please help me!!" She screamed. Kynoto made to save her but Knifes said, "Uh, uh, uh, not so fast Kynoto. If you even make to make a move to try and save her, I'll cut her heart out. Either way, she will die and there is nothing that you can do to stop me!" Knifes took the dagger and slit her throat as he said this. Her eyes went wide then grew dim as the life drained out of her body. Her blood was now pooling beneath Knifes feet and began flowing outward into the crevasses in the floor. Then the blood moved in the direction of the Necronomicon pedestal, which started to absorb it. All Kynoto could do was watch and wait. As soon as all of the blood had been drained from Naomi's now completely lifeless body, Knifes cast it aside as a child would a useless toy. She hit the ground and rolled in slow motion; over and over she tumbled till she hit the wall with a dull thud. Triasha was now crying in rage and sadness. He had never known the exact details, and now he whished he hadn’t. The vision ended and Triasha again saw Knifes standing before him, cackling. Triasha did not say anything for a brief period, he only tried to stay the sobbing that was making it hard to breath. Triasha’s eyes shadowed over as he became as calm as death. Knifes looked at him inquisitively, as to say ‘what of it?’. Triasha now spoke; his voice sounded so unfamiliar to Knifes, it was full of hatred, nay, it was overflowing with hatred, “You sick little prick. I am going to send you to the only place you belong….TO HELL!” as he screamed this his power shot up to five hundred billion and his wings started to suck in any light around him. After a few seconds they turned blacker then the shadows surrounding them and two more sprouted from the middle of the row of six. Knifes was awe struck, he had never expected this much power to come to the surface. Triasha moved and before Knifes realized it, Triasha had his scythe at his throat. Triasha tried to cut off Knifes’ head, but Knifes was able to escape from the attack. He was amazed at the change, Triasha was now insane with anger, his aura was flying out from his body in all directions and it was solid enough to make physical contact with anything it touched. It created an almost perfect shield. Knifes now powered up some more, to four hundred billions levels. He was unable to go any higher though; Triasha was absorbing his stray particles. Any higher and Triasha would be able to increase his power higher. “Knifes! You are dead!” Triasha shouted as he charged Knifes again. Knifes could now see Triasha’s movements and dodged the attack, though Triasha’s aura was able to cut Knifes. Knifes had to increase his power higher if he wanted to win, but first he had to block Triasha’s absorption. He thought it over very quickly and came up with a plan. He summoned the Necronomicon once more and used another spell, this time he trapped Triasha in place, though not very well, Triasha still managed to stumble forward little by little. Knifes smiled slightly as he found the prefect spell. He shouted, “Final Judgment, Isis’ Ire!” Triasha was hit by a powerful attack. He felt his power starting to fall. Lower and lower it went till it stopped at four hundred and ten billion; almost three hundred billion levels had been sapped. “DAMN IT! KNIFES!” Triasha was on the verge of lunacy, Knifes could see it in his eyes; he was starting to lose himself in anger and despair. However, his new form seemed to feed off of it; Triasha’s power was beginning to rise again. Knifes had never anticipated something like this, an Angelic form that was completely abhorrence driven instead of relying on the individuals power. Triasha topped at six hundred billion this time. It seemed as Triasha slipped further into a bloody rage, the stronger he became. Knifes was now formulating a plan go take Triasha out of the picture. A physical form can only withstand so much Trianchu, after a certain point, the body will just cease to exist due to Trianchu Poisoning; extreme Trianchu saturation. This Shadow Arc Angel was a super-class archetype body, in other words it could hold massive amounts of Trianchu and not be vaporized. Knifes knew what he must do, he had to push Triasha so far over the edge that he would be consumed by his own power. “Heh, you really are angry aren’t you; all because I killed your wife. How pathetic… And to think I used to idolize you so long ago, what a sorry person you have become. Ha, well, let’s see just how pathetic I can make you! Let’s have you relive Kynoto’s memories of the event. No, better yet! Necronomicon Spell 198, Resurrection!” Knifes shouted. Triasha’s eyes bulged as Naomi appeared in front of Knifes. “Heheh, hahahahaha!” Knifes laughed uncontrollably. He produced the dagger that Triasha had seen from the vision. “Oh God, Triasha save me… Triasha!!!” Naomi screamed nightmarishly. Triasha was frozen still, he could not move even though he wanted to; his hate was consuming his soul and turning it to a ruined mess. Knifes raised the dagger and swung down. The dagger protruded from Naomi’s chest as she fell to the ground, dead. Knifes removed the dagger and wiped it off on his shirt. He held the still beating heart, showing it to Triasha he crushed it and flung it at him. As it fell short of Triasha’s foot he wheezed for breath as his anger reached the brink, Knifes could feel his power was ready to explode upward. He did it again and Triasha snapped. His power exceeded one trillion and he had Knifes flat on the ground with the now colossal scythe, it had transformed into something out of a nightmare after Triasha’s mind had snapped, the blade was now disfigured into a hook with large serrated edges and a lethal looking spike protruded from the back of the blade, the handle had become riddled with spikes and the blade was bleeding the purest Trianchu Knifes had ever seen; one drop melted away a small area of the skin on his arm, pressed to his forehead. Triasha was terrifying now; his appearance had been twisted more then his weapon, back to that of a demon. His eyes were pitch black, his once silver hair was now a deep crimson, and his mouth dripped with blood and his teeth were replaced with long and razor sharp fangs. Knifes was amazed at his speed. He was sure that Triasha would have died by now. He wondered just how much Trianchu this new form could hold. Triasha backed off slightly then leapt up and began howling. His hand glowed black as he lunged at Knifes swinging the scythe wildly in all directions. Knifes evaded the attacks as best he could, he had no interest in getting killed this late in the game. Triasha disappeared from Knifes’ view. He looked around quickly; he did not see Triasha anywhere. Had he been vaporized? Then out of the corner of his right eye he say a massive blast of Black Trianchu heading for him. He got out of the way as fast as he could as the attack enveloped a mountain range and, in a horrific explosion, decimated it to dust. Triasha was no longer a human, he was somewhere between an Angel and a Demon, he had no cognitive abilities either; he was acting on pure instinct now. As far as Knifes was concerned Triasha was dead, leaving behind this monster. Still that left the problem of disposing of it, it was far too strong. Knife’s also had no notion of how much power it could take before it would reach its vaporization point. As each of its attacks failed, the creature increased its Trianchu higher and higher in an attempt to kill Knifes. Knifes was still faster then the creature despite its insane Trianchu level, which was so great that it was slowing it down. Triasha now back peddled a little and sat there in a state of calmness, a sinister grin on his face. Knifes heard its voice in his head, “Hah, so this is your limit Knifes?! Who is the pathetic one now!? I will show you how truly pathetic YOU are!” Knifes was enguard, this was looking lethal; he was up to something extremely dangerous. Knifes saw the scythe flow upward, its blade emitting thrice as much Trianchu as before, it hovered in the air in streaks of gold and black. Suddenly they merged together and formed a ball, which Triasha moved toward him. He increased the Trianchu level well out of Knifes’ sensory range then absorbed it. Knifes was horrified as he saw what was going to take place. He tried to get as far away as possible. Triasha held up a single claw and a nightmarish attack formed. He flung it at the fleeing Knifes who Half Stepped to avoid it at the last second. He watched in vain as it crashed into one of his city and vaporized it in a massive explosion, leaving naught but a smoldering crater fifty feet deep. Triasha howled in agony as he ran in a berserk rage clutching his head. Knifes now knew that Triasha’s new form had hit its max, at a nightmarish one trillion five hundred billions levels of Trianchu. Triasha was now hunched over gasping for breath. He tried to force his power down but it would not. His body had become over saturated to the point that he was no longer in control. Knifes felt something odd and then saw something he had not intended on. Triasha had raised his scythe and said, his voice very quite, almost as if death was taking him as he spoke, “If I am to die, I will not go alone Knifes!” Triasha forced all of his power into the scythe and threw it at Knifes. Knifes almost had no time to react, but was able to barely escape it. He counted his blessings as a gigantic explosion rocked the land around them; several areas of the land were forced to upheaval from the force of the attack. Knifes was amazed that Triasha was still barely in control of all of that power. He looked to the lifeless body that was once Triasha, he was truly dead now. If you die as an Immortal, you are dead for all time. He walked forward and spat on the corpse as it dissolved into the wind. Beloth had felt the whole thing, he sat crying a little, he had felt Triasha’s complete anger and more so felt his insane agony of losing Naomi in such a dishonorable way. He sat and cried for the longest time, not able to even stand up. He cursed his laws that forbade him from interfering with lower powers, for he would not hesitate to kill Knifes, no matter if he still had some good in him or not. Kynoto felt the battle also. He had reached the Oni Palace when Triasha went Arc Angel. He sat in a corner by the main gate, more depressed then he had ever been. He had lost his will to help, he had completely forgotten about Orphious and Itachi’s plight. All he knew was that Triasha had fallen into one of Knifes traps, which he had warned him about, but even Kynoto was shocked that Knifes would risk everything to get rid of Triasha in that manner. Kynoto was actually frightened at this fact; Knifes was prepared to die in order to kill one of his mortal enemies. Kynoto also had the same feelings as Beloth now. It mattered not if Knifes had any good left in him now, Kynoto was now hell-bent on squashing out Knifes’ life, even if it meant taking his own in the process. Itachi and Orphious had felt the battle as well, but less acutely then the others, as they were deep in Onishindo as well as in the palace. But even through all the sensory dampening they could still feel how potent Trisha’s power was. Itachi was socked into silence as Orphious stared off into space, lost in a deep trance. “What a battle!” the golem said as he broke the awkward silence; they had been discussing battle plans for getting rid of the Herders when Triasha turned Shadow Arch Angel. Orphious was brought out of his trance and he said, “Yes, that was quite a spectacle, I could even feel Knifes’ fear at the end, I bet he was scared stiff when Triasha started that attack. Alas, it is too bad that Triasha had to die, but at least we now know exactly how strong Knifes is now. With our total combined strength; myself, Itachi, Kynoto, Hakuya, and Atreyu we should be able to take him with ease.” Itachi slammed his hand on the table as hard as he could and caused a crack in its marble surface; his anger at Knifes was only intensifying, he had toyed with Triasha for his own amusement and found a way to kill him. Their position had been weakened, the prefect time for Knifes to launch an attack. This is not what he had stopped Orphious for though. “Hakuya and Atreyu are staying out of this! I will not let either of them fight, if they die, I will only end up like Triasha, out of control and dead.” Orphious smirked slightly so that Itachi would not see him. His friendships were strong, especially with Hakuya, Dante’s escapade proved that without a doubt. If there were anyone in more danger, Hakuya would be it, Knifes would use her as a focal point to do to Itachi what he had just done to Triasha; play his greatest weakness, love. Such a fickle human emotion that could get in the way of any task, he was glad he had no such emotions. Little did all of those in the Oni Realm realize that another war was being mounted, one that would make the war between Heaven and Hell seem like a picnic. At the center of it all was not Knifes, but a stranger; an Angel named Samiel. He had caused the increase in Herders in the Oni Realm to destabilize it, to cause a rift to open to the Mortal Realm, so he could invade and capture it, with the help of his three comrades. |
