So Highwind made an exaltation, T_A made a different exaltation, Eisenritter made some edits to it, and they both got into book 3 despite stepping on each other's toes. I'd like to point something out about this statement, though: It does not, necessarily, apply to anything working off of the "transforming hero" archetype. Not when the purpose of those is, as pointed out in the fluff, that they are not Exalted at all times. You are mortal until trouble rears its head, and then you become Exalted until that trouble is gone and you can afford to be mortal once more. And while you are not Exalted, you are - get this - not Exalted. The "downside" to this sort of exaltation, I think, is that you are essentially a "heroic mortal" the vast majority of the time. |

so this is...different. let's call it 2.0. I don't know what I'm doing with the fluff but I like the new mechanics. the design feels very playful to me, not sure if that's for better or worse, not sure if the goals of the design would actually lead to fun in play, honestly. Bare your soul needs a bigger downside, I think. aasimar can just skip half of it, as can the heavy and a number of book 1 classes by level 4 or 5. I'm at a loss, really don't want to just chunk on another "lol fuck social rolls" drawback. I'm more disillusioned with this the more I try to fix it, so please beat it up a bit, maybe something will fall into place. |

That's... very different. And is missing a few things, like how you get Drops back, and what your Residue cap is. Personally, I'd probably revert it and make a new post with this new one as a 2.0 of it since it's so different and then work from there. |

Bare your soul covers both of those. I can't really revert it, I didn't save the old post when I rewrote it. Always moving forward, I guess. I am thinking of adjusting the transformation mechanic to be something you can do to start a scene instead of just to close it out, but I want to be cautious about making it too good with no downside again. edit: rejiggered transform mechanic and resources.
