So, with the advent of my working on the Dungeons the Dragoning SRD, there has been some debate over on 4chan over whether to combine the "optional extended ruleset" (such as gun kata for book 1 classes) as the proper rules, or to seperate "core" rules (with just a few tweaks for grammar and punctuation) and the homebrew "OER". I'm rather partial to listing the core rules with any homebrew rulings being listed below them as well as a full page listing the OER info. Your thoughts? |

Kinda depends on the format of the SRD. if t's going to be any kind of hypertext/wiki then listing it on the same page and denoting somehow that it's after-market seems fine. if you want some kind of PDF that just reorganizes info then I'm torn between playability and maintaining the system for posterity |

My plan was to do it as a wiki, akin to d20pfsrd |

I reckon the best way would be to have both available with a button to toggle, and remember user preference with a cookie. Or rather than a toggle, have the two types each in their own div with a toggle to show or hide, but I think that would be a hassle since there's too many cases where there's only one version or where the difference is small and it would get to be a hassle.By what metric is that a wiki? |
