I'll give it a go. I still like Raksha better, but I've settled for calling things different for my games instead of bugging you guys about it. I'm taking a bit from Changeling and Exalted, but my memories of both are a little blurry. I'll reread them later. Far beyond the limits of space and logic lies powerful creatures. These daemonic beings are best described as fantastic, beautiful, and horrifying, ruling the deepest wilds of the Umbra with fists of iron and velvet. Feeding on the love, fear, hate, and sorrow of their victims, these fey princes and princesses rely on the emotions of mortals to define themselves and grow in power. Their true names are [DATA EXPUNGED], but to call one such would be risky. Rather, the wary and superstitious masses of the Wheel refer to these aberrations as the Fair Folk. Of course, being cooped up in the Umbra can get awfully boring for a creature made out of maddening and alien ideas. When their boredom becomes unbearable, a member of the Gentry will take a vacation to the Materium, taking the place of an unfortunate mortal and pretending to be more interesting versions of whoever it was they replaced. Do not be caught off guard - though they can appear to be like you or me, they are nothing of the sort. The Fair Folk exist only to entertain themselves, and other people getting hurt along the way only gets them more exited. Tell: As the Fair Folk spends Glamour, their carefully crafted illusion of mortality will begin to break down. Hair and nails will grow longer or change color. Skin will split open to reveal additional eyes and mouths. Even the most attractive of the Fair Folk have disturbingly perfect forms underneath their disguises, and they become increasingly more disturbing as Glamour is spent. |

Misuse of [DATA EXPUNGED] there, but I fix. (Expunge when removing blocks of text, redact words or phrases.) ![]() Thank ye kindly, quoted into the OP with minor edits.

Bumping this one for potential editing. Issues of note:
EDIT: Assets and Maven Prince edited to show this idea. Edited by Eisenritter, Dec 31 2015, 05:10 PM.

I think (though I'm not sure) that Shadowed Sword Grace, while not idiosyncratic enough to be completely useless, is useful in few enough situations that it is strictly less powerful than the other Shadowed assets.

Being cost-activated instead of a passive bonus will do that, yes. The "on your turn" limitation is meant to keep it apart from the Ring; you should be able to employ the Sword's Shadowed benefit as long as you are acting, and not reacting... uh, that's clear, right?

...Okay, after bouncing it off someone who doesn't frequent here, I've been told that the assets are probably the first priority now. Specifically, that the Ascendant/Shadowed thing is murky, but I'm going to take that as another vote for changing away from it. With that in mind, will try to make it a more "standard" wide set so that a full party of Tuatha can go without taking the same asset. The current set (Raksha Graces) only comes in four, so that will probably be phased out. From related sources, though, I could probably use the Seemings from Changeling (reminder: never played it, don't have a pdf of it), or maybe traditional Faerie Courts. Are there other games I could look at? EDIT: Quick check of D&D4e fluff gives me the Court of Stars as a council of archfey... maybe poaching from the Sidereals would work here, then? I'd suss out the old Nocturnals homebrew, but I seem to recall one of their castes being Aurora, which I've already used... Edited by Eisenritter, Jan 11 2016, 12:46 AM.

In the meantime, decided that it would look better to describe the Tuatha's quirk of assets with its assets instead of kludging it into an unrelated feature. Also added a sidebar about iron weapons. |

Why does Wicked Masque mention that Tuatha don't age? Exalts usually don't age anyway. |

"Immortal" does not mean "doesn't age." Book 1 p.53 corroborates. Wicked Masque calls it out as insurance against an SM who might rule that age comes with penalties even for an exalt. |
