Unearthly Skill has been replaced with Unearthly Countenance, and the unsettling perfection of the Fae rather than a half-assed attempt at a maven Noble. |

Good choice, I had actually been thinking that was a better fit. Strangely, Tuatha do have a bizarre situation where they are good at Social abilities because of that, but unable to spend their glamour on social attacks against non-Exalts. |

Can't you just give them the Appearance Asset, then mention they get +1k1 to Intelligence tests where their specialties apply and Feint attempts? The wording as it is right now is a little funny, and the ellipsis don't help.
I don't think it's necessary to mention Dullahans here. Other than that, the new Winter Court is pretty cool and flavorful. |

Current method is a different bonus (1k1 as opposed to 2k0) and also allows a Summer Tuatha to be supernaturally pretty by taking both assets. Hopefully fixed the rest, though. |

Oh wait I totally missed the specialization part. I'm a dumb. Edited by Username, May 21 2016, 01:05 PM.

They get a free specialization in each social attribute, too. Which still isn't as good as the Daemonhost, but that's the Daemonhost. |

I don't think Unearthly Countenance should give you Characteristic Specialties. Those cover a much broader range than Skill Specialties, after all. I think it should be more like the Atlantean's Ancient Style, which gives them three Skill Specialties related to the Exaltation. I would have commented earlier, but I somehow missed the power change from whatever it was before. Whoops. |

It wouldn't really make sense for it to cover skill specialties. Unlike Ancient Style, Unearthly Countenance is focused on the characteristics rather than the skills. As it stands it is probably a bit weaker than the similar 6 dot characteristic spectrum bonus for Kryptonian, Phoenix and Youkai, although better than the one for the original Spark (Although the Spark one could be better if you really push it for your Sufficiently Advanced Science ability). Speaking of the Spark, it occurs to me that is probably what I was thinking of in my previous post, since they don't get anything to go with their Characteristic spectrum cap increase in Weredrago2's version. This is broken. Too much things depend on Social Characteristics outright. I mean, seriously, Combat Magic-The School (Also known as Evocation) is Charisma based, as is Enchantment. This also breaks anyone riding a mounted animal (because Animal Ken is both a social skill and a characteristic). Even the above effectively give you Resource recover at-will without any inherent dangers. Cast Energy Bits - recover 4+ Glamour. In addition - any social-skill based Fightan Magic or Gun Kata means that you can pretty much indefinitely recover Resource points without even sacrificing combat ability, as you would with casting too much Enchantment for example. Let's take a look at how other Exaltations recover RP, shall we? Atlantean - Either out-of-combat only or extremely dangerous and one-per-turn in combat Chosen - Non-specific ritual, but likely out-of-combat only and only once per day Daemonhost - You either poke your head into the warp, which is kinda dangerous, bite someone or go a long way around and use your Assets. You also get fucked over if you use your RP a lot without having high WP. Paragon - at the beginning of the session only and (from rank 4) when you make a 2-die stunt, which is something player actually has to work for. The fastest recovery in book one, but it should be noted that they don't have any powers based of RP. Promethean - One per hour, or when they lose HP from rank 4, which they can not recover with RP. Vampire - Rather unwieldy and you actually lose RP over time. There is a leeway of using followers for recovery, but this still is rather limited, especially in combat. Werewolf - At start of the combat and at the beginning of the night. Wraith - 2 per-hour only when in umbra. DragonBlooded - 5-minute rest to recover all, but the smallest cap and "set everything on fire" penalty for using powers. Note how I didn't even touch the other homebrew stuff (like that class that can force social challenges in combat) and Tuatha already has THE best recovery in the entire game, without any penalties for, or to, using powers beyond aesthetic ones (unlike dragonblooded, atlantean or daemonhost). You can say "Oh, well, using magic is dangerous because phenomena" to which I will reply with "not really" as Evocation 1 spell is raise-based and getting like 2 raises on Magic Missiles without causing Phenomena isn't beyond capabilities of a level 1 character. But let us not touch the magic. At rank 3 all Sword Schools and Gun Kata can freely apply a skill check to an attack. 2 Gun Katas and 4 Sword Schools have that check as a Social Skill. You have to actively try not to break this recovery mechanic and that is something of an issue I might say. Consider revision. |
