I'd be worried about abuse from dot shifting to buy Characteristics for cheap. Die, shift dots around so that a couple of characteristics you care less about are at 1, buy two more characteristic dots for 100 xp, repeat.

I insist that we need to think of something more objective because "for the rest of the session" definitely won't cut it. There are sessions in which the players advance through a dungeon for a couple of hours and other sessions in which the players investigate a cult over the course of months

Also what stellated said on his post, there needs to be a bigger penalty to dying so that it can't be abused. perhaps actually loosing dots instead of re-arranging them

Shifting dots around with Regeneration (going to need a better name, like Happening) involves dying first, which either means you burn a Hero point or Slipstream. That should cancel out whatever EXP you are saving on Characteristics.

The duration can be 1d10 Rounds - CON. You regain lost limbs and get set back to 0 HP, but can't do jack shit while regenerating. Perfect time for someone to kill you again.

"Happening", oh lawdy, that's funny, I vote for that name

I say no reduction from CON since it's a process that has to do with time dilation and not physical healing, not to mention it would be ludicrous for it just to take one or two rounds. In fact, I would say that if anything it should be 1d10+(#of critical wounds) rounds
for example, dying at -5 would be 1d10+5 rounds.
Also the chronomancer comes back unconscious at 0HP, so with fatigue points I presume

Either way, works.

To be clear, Happening is a reference to Traveler: The Happening. Give it a look. It inspired the general feel I was looking for with the Chronomancer.

I only though that screaming "it's happening!" or "happening time!" when your character dies sounds hilarious

so then is it 1d10+wounds? Should we check it other people?

Sounds good to me.

Eisenritter will reply eventually, and make the changes if he agrees. If not, we engage in civil debate until we reach a compromise.

...I could swear we agreed at some point that the Doctor wasn't a Chronomancer? At least, not compared to the likes of Sakuya Izayoi, Dio Brando, Voporak or any sucker wearing the Mask of Time...

Nobody is a Chronancer. We're taking inspiration for the power from Doctor Who, which I don't see anything wrong with. Especially since we get a neat power out of it.

I rather see it as Valentine's "pull yourself from another timeline" rather than "doctor's who regeneration"

In any case, I still hold my suggestion of the save point as well, whatever Eisen thinks would fit the best, since it is his exaltation
