I'll point out that I'm among those that dislike the idea of using a title as a class, but the odds are in favor of someone homebrewing this anyway, so I may as well be the one irritating myself with it, right? Once again, I do have a preference for not spinning out new feats where it can be avoided, and I felt like I could avoid it here. Tried to do something like a less divine-influenced paladin here. You may note they get Melee 2; this gives Parrying (which we've put jittes in) and Fencing (which I personally feel is more katana-like than, say, a daiklaive would be). ...No, there's no reason for me to wear this fire suit. I just happen to like it in here, it's private. |

This looks like a pretty solid and fun class. Good balance to it, a more Social Combat and Normal Combat hybrid character. The Discipline is especially noteworthy. Perpetuals would love that and do well in a class as defensive as this one. Wraiths would love it even more though, as that will increase their hitpoints, resource points and even Armor/Aura at 4th level. |

Discipline is actually in the 2nd book. Like Headstrong, it is a feat that was probably intended to be given to a class but never was, sitting there orphaned in the feat section. Discipline was probably meant to be given to the Courtier classline, while Headstrong was clearly meant for the Heavy. These poor orphans were quickly adopted by several homebrewed classlines though. |

...I would ask if someone could make an iaido-like school based on Fencing weapons and without Shadow Hand's skulduggery for this class, but I get the feeling that might not go over well...

Miyamoto Musashi beat someone to death with a Boat Oar in order to get around his enemy's reach and timed his arrival and departure with the tides to help run away. His first kill was challenging a samurai as a kid and then murdering him when his guardian went to apologize about it. Samurai are totally not above Skulduggery. |

Nah, that was more for the obligatory "pop culture" garbage, to wit samurai are all honor-before-reason. I'm well aware of Musashi's exploits.
