Have you considered giving them Ancient Temple, what with the Dai-sho usage and all? They don't have Two-Weapon Wielder though... Which makes me think, these guys have interesting potential overlap with Maids. Have you considered lifting some of the Maid Feats? Edited by Kwak, Feb 24 2016, 09:35 PM.

I can't see them taking any more Maid feats, but I could see a player either starting as a Maid and moving on to Samurai... or vice versa. Imagine: a Samurai that was so thoroughly dishonored, he took up domestic service because he thought committing Sudoku wouldn't help him atone for his failure. |

Though a Samurai/Puzzler would be an interesting class combo *rimshot* |

I didn't like Puzzlers that much. What I love about this game is that you can play stupid shit like a Dark Eldarin Werewolf Samurai Maid and have it not only be valid, but have it be good. |

Could you make Hatred (Pirates) an optional feat, or make it to Hatred (Any)? I don't think hating pirates meshes well with the rest of this class. Wasn't it always Pirates vs Ninja? Are we making an L5R joke? Secondly, can we change the completion bonus to Status or Backing? Having either option means you can start with a little of both and be able to build them up without losing out on free background dots when one of them maxes out. |

In order: Sci-fi equivalent of "bandits" and nothing else does, so no. Longer version for the latter: A daimyo (that is to say, a lord) does not have Backing, he provides it. Edited by Eisenritter, Apr 19 2016, 08:06 PM.

Bandits and pirates are not the same thing. One steals from land, and the other steals by sea. Ergo, Hatred would only apply to one group. How about Hatred (Thieves)? Also, there's a handful of classes that let you pick between two different backgrounds so that you don't have any wasted completion bonuses, so there's precedence if you need it. But that's absolutely wrong in the way DtD considers backing. Backing is just membership in a organization and power structure. A Lord would have backing, since they are a member of that power structure. A Daimyo for instance would be Backing 4 to Feudal Moonlanders. Top tier, but below the |

The only precedent for a class that gives background dots for completion is the Sheriff. No changes are necessary. Edited by Eisenritter, Apr 19 2016, 08:18 PM.

The Lawer, Edgemaster, and your own Pirate also provide Background dots as part of their Completion Bonuses. |
