I'm okay with this, I knew there'd be a dedicated section for gag stuff that would be fun to play but would look HORRIBLY out of place in the main PDFs. And I've been meaning to make a Stickmen joke race.

Also, are we going to add Durulz to this?

I'm not exactly comfortable running around saying whose brainchilds are and aren't actually jokes all along. Not if they aren't on board with this (Which, last I checked, most people weren't).
But what's even the point? This game's already a bullshit crossover. You can play as a sun-proof vampiric tree-babe Wild West gunslinger who gets cancer every time she talks without referencing a fucking Mitchell and Webb sketch! And, as the Errata thread makes perfectly clear, none of this shit was mechanically balanced to begin with.

I'm starting to see why LawfulNice moved on to go make a real game.

I stand by the statement that anything actually written to completion should not be considered a joke by dint of someone's desire to write it in the first place. If you care enough about the Ferran to write all that you did about it, it's frankly insulting to dismiss it out of hand.

That being said, I think I might go take my stab at the Champion/Wellspring/transforming hero archetype again, because someone obviously cared enough about the idea to make it a standalone exalt to begin with.

Again, though, I cared about it in a weird, mean-spirited way. It was intentionally an out-of-place, goofy-ass furry abomination. But, same as with my Psion attempt which was fueled purely by hating the Force Sensitive, I think I'm just too attached to what is unambiguously a shit to let it go.

Which ultimately means a lelbook will never work, i guess, because if I can't even accept that a thing I wanted to be bad is bad then how can I expect anybody else to do the same with things they legitimately think are cool and interesting? How do we decide which is more problematic between the Baller and the Remodeler?

But then if we're really just going kitchen-sink-fuck-it-all then that makes it really hard to give a shit. Because whether or not people should dismiss it is moot, because the fact that they will makes all the difference. Hell, I felt the same way about all the homebrew at first, until I got personally involved and biased. The only reason I started posting was to figure out whether or not I was GMing this wrong.

Now, see, half the problem is people looking at the fluff and then dismissing mechanics based on personal bias. Let me revise: If I cared enough about the idea of an actual race of Cyclopes to actually write it up so that I (at the least) could possibly use it, it's a dick move on your part to say what is essentially "I don't like the idea of playable Cyclopes, so this race sucks and you shouldn't bother with it." Replace the object name as desired, that's basically what's going on, as I perceive it.

Yes, I'm aware I'm probably going to be shit on mercilessly for stating that openly, but what else is new... :(

I guess. But fluff is why we crunch. Playable cyclopes as a concept is your reason for making the math in the first place, so I can't fault somebody for choosing not to read that for the same reason. "There should not be a Sonic in DtD in the first place, it's incompatible with the setting" is a reasonable criticism, as far as I'm concerned. It's a criticism I have of a good portion of the book, but I know nobody else wants to hear it and it's mean to say so I just try to stay out of those threads. But I think the overall idea, of "You can't just stick literally everything into this" is valid, even if it's not technically true because we can do whatever we want. Only thing I ever thought was stupid and wrong was when that guy shit on the Perpetual because he didn't know how it worked and thought I was too stupid to have thought it through. If he had just said "people die when they are killed, that's the way it should be, why are you making this" I would have accepted that even if I wouldn't necessarily dump the whole thing.

Other thing to keep in mind is that Races are very very easy to make. I pick four stats, make up 4 to 6 powers, port over ideas from as many or as few sources as I like. That's how I ended up fleshing out an idea I simultaneously thought was stupid. So the only thing to really talk about with them, besides "are these 4 to 6 powers broken?" is the fluff. So it is (and should be) under more of that kind of scrutiny, in my opinion, because there's so much more of a risk that such scrutiny didn't already happen.

But that's beside the point. I guess what this really is, is: What are we even doing here? Why split hairs over an exalt that will only get used by maybe 3 other DMs, 2 of which will just rename and remake it anyway? And I guess that's a personal thing, huh.

So then maybe I just need to personally not make trollposts anymore

You know it's probably just one or two guys who keep bringing it up, right? That said, I won't stop you from making a separate splatbook for things you don't think are up to snuff for being in the Big Book of Brew. Personally, I wouldn't bother.

Fully fleshed out and thematically appropriate are two different things. Bear in mind that The Wheel is a galaxy sized collection of Spheres. Anything is possible. I know I don't make much beyond guns, swords and vehicles. I tried once to make an Exalt. It was shit. If you can make a fully realized thing, go for it.

My main view on the majority of /tg/ posters is that they know of DtD, but have never played DtD. Their input is appreciated, but very few shine when it comes to substance beyond "choke on a dick."

/tg/ is pretty crappy when it comes to actual feedback on Dungeons: The Dragoning. Most of the people who actually have something to offer make accounts and post here. There are some rare exceptions, but they are far and few between.
