That depends if the skillmonkey is also capable of doing a support role like a medic or buffer.

Also:
  • Sorta adjusted Splinter Twin so you have to at least do SOMETHING before merging again.
  • Added XP clause for exaltation assets and Power Stat
  • Ehh, D4C asset buffed to ludicrous levels. It's stupidly easy to kill <spoilers>, but keeping him dead is another story.

For the sake of personal preferences, Tattoo You! has been trimmed just enough to only display as six lines of text on my screen.

EDIT: D4C modified, it only costs the normal amount of XP because you're just a pair of alternate-universe duplicates.

EDIT 2: Asset costs tweaked again and Earth, Wind and Fire's size restriction is removed. (Might be a bad idea, we'll see)

...how do inheritance and artifact work for this Exaltation? Does the equipment just disappear when they switch?

Yes since it's stored in that mysterious missing space where your partner is, unless you drop your stuff before switching (usually off-screen). Although it would be a tad rude to just take all of his stuff, especially if the situation requires you to switch.

Negative Schism is confirmed to reduce in narrative time.

He Who Posts Too Much
It took some effort, but I managed to squeeze Tattoo You down to a more manageable size.

You're only a single character, but your 'partner' is a minion mob that represents your HP. These minions have a Threat Rating equal to your Divergence+1 (to a limit of 5), share your Resilience, and require damage rolls to diminish. Instead of using a Damage Rating, the mob rolls damage and adds +1k0 damage for every raise on their attack roll. Your mob fights using a copy of your weapon or deals (mob size)k1 damage. Switching allows you to fully disperse yourself or shed Hit Points for a number of minions up to (Divergence*2). You can split/merge your mobs or regain HP by reintegrating your minions into yourself as a full action. Your mobs require a minimum of two minions at any time, and three minions are required to form your main self. Placeholder adds a static bonus equal to half your current HP (to a limit of +10).

I feel as though Buy One, Take One should be called Humbling Bundle for some reason ("1+1 free 4evar!"?). Eh, not terrifically important. :(

What is important - more so than nomenclature, at least - is a twinge of verbiage for King Crimson. I know I usually counsel the assumption that a rules object only changes what it says it does (in this case, Switching as a Free Action), but I do feel the need to question if it's GT's intent that it be so. In other words, I think King Crimson's two clauses may need the idiot clause regarding whether they Provoke or not.

With Civil War, can you choose /not/ to take someone as a partner?

Nobody Important

Since it's worded with a 'may', I would assume so.
