I liked the inability to get other spells, it was cool.
Anyways, speaking as someone with a bad memory and poor rule finding skills, do you keep junction or level on mantle spells?

keep junction.
and yeah, I also liked the restrained spell list, but it ended up being too restrained, especially for the first 2-3 levels where you only had one or two spells to actually work with, so early on you just didn't have the spell list to really be a proper magic heavy character. So, I compromised and just made the features only work with the freebie spells that you get. lets you have doublecasting fun with your favorite spells, while still being able to do things with more niche spells.
The other idea option I had to solve the tiny list was that you'd get two free spells at level one, and your given spells would total up to junction plus 1, but at that point it just ended up being too convoluted. Now, you can have your mixed character that does their own thing with a non-magic class that drops a doublecasted energy ray out of nowhere, while still letting the more magic inclined characters build up a proper library of options. I still want to rework the current rank3 and blend the current one into the warrior asset (while also renaming some of the assets to be more flavorful) so that the new rank3 could have more interactions with the mantle spells beyond the current options of just being able to doublecast, but as is the exalt doesn't seem to actually be broken or anything, so I'm going to leave it be

Finally got around to re-doing the fuff. yay. With the new fluff I kinda want to mess with the assets but at the same time there's no actual need to unless one of them turns out to be super busted in practice.

Edit 12/5/2017
I'll put the changes in here instead of making a new post.
-Changed the formula for the focus power tests for your spells from Level+Junction (which was terribad at low levels) to the whole Xk3/4/5 thing.
-The drawback power was made harsher. Your skills cap at 3 now, so no free specialty, and Eidetic memory becomes the classic "forbidden feat" kinda deal.
-Redid overcharge from "You can push mantle spells" to the current setup (spend focus for a 1k1 bonus, 2-3 point levels also hurt you)
-Renamed and redid Contractual obligations. Instead of the old thing the new version just makes the standard drawback power even worse. I originally toyed with the idea that it would have it cover even more skills but decided against it.
-Minor grammar changes

Great work on this exaltation, looks fun and interesting. One question about mantle spells: if the character goes into a class which features feat-based improvements to spellcasting, are these applicable to mantle spells, and if so are there any limitations?

To give examples, I imagine something not spell school dependent such as "spell might" would apply just fine, even with the para magic changes to the dice pool.

However, what if a lvl1 mantle obtained the "spell book" feat and had no ranks in the illusion school, but had a mantle spell drawn from illusion? Could they gain a second mantle spell this way, treating their junction as rank in the illusion school as per para magic, or could they only apply the feat to a magic school which they have non-exaltation-based ranks in?

Not him but personally I'd imagine something universal like Spell Might can apply, but not Spell Book as mantle spells are not tied to ranks with a specific school. However I'll wait for Scrap's ruling on this.

Mantle spells don't count as a school in and of themselves so you can't apply school specific feats to them all at once. that said, if one of your mantle spells was from conjuration, and you got a conjuration specific feat (such as spell focus-conjuration), it would apply to that one spell. As for the spell book feat, its the same deal. Mantle spells aren't refiled into their own school, so if you want more magic that way you'll have to get them the same way everyone else does.
