![]() Newtype As the battlefield evolves and more and more advanced vehicles become more and more commonplace in war, it's only natural that the people who fight these wars evolve, too. Newtypes are proof of this concept, with them being more at home behind the cockpit -or on the saddle, for that matter- than on the ground. Unusually, however, there are multiple types of Newtype, each of whom shares characteristics but are fundamentally different enough in origin and powers from each other that they can be classified in several subgroups. There's significant tension between those New-Types (as many a pun-loving Axiomatic has stated) as they argue under each other which of them is the superior one. Many Newtypes, however, can agree on one thing, regardless of their type; that they're the next step of evolution, regardless of which species they are. Tell: A Newtype's tell varies from type to type, but is usually quite subtle. The most obvious and shared tell that one can see from a Newtype is their eyes, which usually glow subtly. The more Inspiration they spend, however, their eyes flare up more and more, to the point that they become unnaturally bright and even seem to emit a certain glow. When a Newtype spends Inspiration in a vehicle, however, their nature becomes immediately apparent, as they perform stunts that would make normal ace pilots green with jealousy. Mecha move just like humans would instead of like a clumsy, bipedal tank, fighters bob and weave with alarming agility, and even tanks behave more like high-end sport cars in their hands, up at and including drifting. The few Newtypes that eschew vehicles and instead rely on animals for their mounts also show this tell, with the Newtype and their mounts seeming more like one entity rather than two separate ones. Static Powers New-Type: There's not just one flavor of Newtype- each breed of Newtype has its own traits. Choose one of the following options when building your character.
Flash: You are never surprised and are aware of every attack that is directed at you. This qualifies as the Danger Sense for purposes of class progression and interactions with other mechanics. Cockpit Jockey: You can go up to six dots in Pilot, Drive, and one of Animal Ken, Craft or Tech Use, and gain a free speciality in each of them. Rubicon Crosser: You gain the Cross the Rubicon feat. You can cause more than a single point of hull integrity damage in Strikejammer-Spelljammer combat from damage rolls. POWER STAT: INTUITION Intuition is how in tune a Newtype is with his nature The higher the Newtype's Intuition, the more they know the ins-and-outs of their abilities' limits, and how to exploit said abilities the best against hapless "Oldtypes" that they fight against. RESOURCE STAT:Inspiration A Newtype can have up to 2*Intuition of Inspiration at once, and regains Inspiration every two rounds in structured time, and one every three hours outside of it. Intuition Powers
![]() ASSETS: Close Ties: Despite assumptions to the contrary, many Newtypes aren't so easily classified as one type or another. Choose an additional New-Type (Newtype Classic, Coordinator, X-Rounder, Innovade, or Alaya-Vijana). You gain the benefits of that New-Type. Newtype Plus: You chump other Newtypes like how Newtypes chump Oldtypes. Depending on your choice in assets, your choice is boosted to their absolute peak.
Psycho Brainframe: You may be barmy, but hot damn do you drive good. Begin play with a Minor Disorder, and you may spend one Inspiration to add a static bonus equal to 1/10th of your current Insanity (rounded down) to any skill test, and you double this bonus on Drive or Pilot skill tests. Cyber Newtype: Congratulations, you got chrome stuck in you to improve your Newtype powers. Gain the Binary Chatter, Mechanus Implants, and the Upgraded (Uncommon) feats. If using the Strain rules Newtype Starter Package: You gain a vehicle, built in the same way as a Holding 1 vehicle. This vehicle cannot be lost or permanently destroyed unless you want it to be. You may purchase this Asset multiple times, each time increasing the amount of effective Holdings by 1. This Asset can be taken even if you have already taken another Newtype Asset. A bit too heavy and specific on the Gundam references, but that's at first glance. I might be missing other things. Cosmetic nitpicking, Insight's used as the Power Stat of the Kishin, so I'm suggesting Intuition or Acumen according to the thesaurus. But that's largely optional. Anyway aside from that I'll leave the rest of the judgement to the others about another vehicle-centric Exaltation (this being the third, the others are the Panzer and the Vajra...I think.) |

For what it's worth, it's a vehicle exalt that doesn't summon up a tank, so at least now you can fully spec into driving without your SM hating you.

Rolling 9s doesn't cause psychic phenomena in this game. Unless you mean if you roll a 9, then no phenomena occur.

Cosmetic nitpick: I suggest you don't pick Wikia images, they shrink when viewed from other people's computers. Also, almost all Exalts have a "drawback" ability one way or another. YOu can make room for it by merging Flash and Rubicon Sprinter or cutting Cockpit Jockey...? But that's just me. |

The drawback to being a Newtype is that half your abilities are useless in the scenario when you're forced to be on foot. Yes, you can cheese a Vehicle that's small enough to fit anywhere and also has a Wave-Motion Gun, but any SM worth his salt would veto that. |

Warforged Newtype with Roll Out and several purchases of the Starter Package with a Gestalt vehicle for a fun Headmaster character. Sounds like a blast.

Added two new Assets (Psycho Brainframe and Cyber Newtype) to replace the Organic Bio-Sensor (because that was honestly out of place in the Asset list.) I think I now can call this Exaltation completed.
