Since there is no full guide for cannon shooters, I decided to make one.Credits to Orange mushroom's blog for skill icons and description.

Stat build
Cannon Shooter is known to be easy to play low-dex for, reason being it has many passives and buffs that adds dex.

-Pirate Bless(beginner job): Cannon Shooter's Link Skill, adds a whooping 15 to all stats along with 5% increase in hp and mp.
-Pirate Training(2nd job): Adds 30 to str and dex, with a mastery level of only 10!
-Monkey Magic(2nd job): Adds 20 to all stats...and is a party buff! It comes along with an increase in many other stats, scroll down to view it.
-Hyper Monkey Magic(4th job): Upgrades your Magic Magic, to a +40 to all stats!

Conclusion: 15+30+20+20=85, just from skills. It is extremely easy to get to 140 dex ( required dex for 140 equips) even while playing pure str , so keep your dex as low as possible(4-20).

Skill build

1st job

Skills
Posted Image Gigantic Backstep: Shoot yourself backwards in an emergency using cannon fire. There is a chance to slow down your enemies.
Posted Image Buildup Cannon: An improvement to the cannon that permanently increases attack and defense.
Posted Image Cannon Splasher: Shoot a fireball that hits up to three enemies.
Posted Image Punching Cannon: Punch with your cannon to hit close-by enemies.

Put a point to Gigantic Backstep (mobility purposes, note:at level one it consumes alot of mp)
Then put a point to Cannon Splasher (mobbing skill till 2nd job)
Max Buildup Cannon (improve damage and defence, quick to max as the max level is 10)
Max Cannon Splasher ( with funds to buy potions) OR max Gigantic Backstep (cut down on its mp cost)
Max whatever you did not max in the previously
Lastly add whatever left over points to Punching Cannon (useless)

2nd job

Skills
Posted Image Slug Shot: Attack many enemies in front of you by shooting many small bullets.
Posted Image Monkey Rush Boom: Roll a barrel filled with explosives at your enemies. The barrel will knockback your enemies then explode.
Posted Image Cannon Booster: Use up MP to increase the speed of your cannon by 2 stages. (Prerequisite – 5 Cannon Mastery)
Posted Image Monkey Magic: For a certain period of time, Monkey’s magic will increase you and your party members’ HP, MP, all stats, speed, jump, accuracy, and avoid. Stacks with other skills.
Posted Image Cannon Mastery: Increase your mastery over the cannon and your accuracy.
Posted Image Critical Fire: Permanently increase your critical chance and minimum critical damage.
Posted Image Pirate Training: Improve your strength and dexterity through the pirate’s secret training.

Put a point into Slug shot (new mobbing skill, yay!)
5 points to Cannon Mastery (to add Booster)
6 points to Booster (last for a decent time)
Max Pirate Trainning (wear eqs)
Max Mastery
Max Monkey Magic( more eqs and a good party buff)
Max Critical Fire (crit more+minimum crit damage=huge damage buff)
Max Monkey Rush Boom (it's your rush skill)
Max Booster
Add whatever leftover points to Slug Shot ( will get replaced soon)

3rd job

Skills
Posted Image Cannon Spike: Shoot a giant spike that can go through many enemies.
Posted Image Monkey Power Boom: Explode many bombs at the same time, attacking many enemies and stunning them for a certain period of time. Passively increases the damage of Monkey Rush Boom. (Prerequisite – 20 Monkey Rush Boom)
Posted Image Monkey Wave: Use noise to attack enemies. Collect power to create a bigger noise, does most damage when a critical is hit.
Posted Image Cannon Jump: The cannon is aimed at the ground and pushes you upward. Nearby enemies will take damage.
Posted Image Oak Barrel Roulette: Detonate a barrel to receive a random buff. Enemies who attack you while this buff is active may be inflicted with a status effect.
Posted Image Lucky Dice: Throw a dice to try your luck. Depending on the outcome of the dice, you recieve a buff for a certain period of time. However, if the roll turns out to be a 1, you get nothing.
Posted Image Reinforce Cannon: Permanently increase your cannon’s attack and attacking speed.
Posted Image Vital Extreme: Permanently increase your HP, defense, and resistance to states.
Posted Image Shooter’s Counter-Attack: When attacked by an enemy, there is a chance to swing your cannon and perform a counter-attack.

Add 1 to Cannon Spike (new mobbing skill again), 1 to Cannon Jump ( more mobility), 1 to Reinforce Cannon (it gives a +1 to atk spd even at level 1)
Max Reinforce Cannon
Max Cannon Spike (damage) OR Vital Extreme (survivability)
Max Lucky Dice ( multipurpose) OR Cannon Spike (if you did not max it earlier)
Max Vital Extreme OR Lucky Dice (depending on which you did not max yet)
Max Counter-Attack
Max Oak Barrel Roulette (useful)
Max Cannon Jump
Max Monkey Power Boom OR Monkey wave and put leftover points into the other (they both aren't that good)

4th job

Skills

Posted Image Cannon Bazooka: Fire a powerful cannon to attack multiple enemies in front of you.
Posted Image Cannon Buster: Concentrate your attacks on one enemy in front of you. Critical chance is increased.
Posted Image Battleship Nautilus: Call the battleship Nautilus to strike down many enemies at the same time.
Posted Image Magnetic Anchor: A giant anchor is placed on the ground which creates its own magnetic field. The anchor attracts enemies and damages them. At the end of the duration of the skill, the anchor will self destruct and deal high damage to enemies.
Posted Image Support Monkey Twins: Summon two elite monkey twins to help you fight.
Posted Image Maple Warrior: Increase the stats of all party members by a certain percentage.
Posted Image Hero’s Will: Focuses to break free from a state.
Posted Image Double Lucky Dice: There is a chance to throw two dice at the same time. You receive the buffs of both numbers, and if you roll doubles, you get an enhanced buff.
Posted Image Hyper Monkey Spell: Monkey Magic is upgraded. (Prerequisite – 20 Monkey Magic)
Posted Image Overburning Cannon: The cannon’s power is extremely improved, permanently increasing damage. Also, ignore some of the target’s defense.
Posted Image Pirate Spirit: Permanently increases the chance of counter-attacking and also gives a stance effect.

Add 1 point to Cannon Bazooka(end game mobbing skill), Cannon Buster( bossing skill), Battleship Nautilus (occasional mass mobbing, showoff purposes)
Add 1 point to Support Monkey Twins( gay,try it for yourself),2 points to Hyper Monkey Spell( at lv 1 it adds +25 to all stats and at 2 it adds 27, after that the stat increase per level drops)
Add 1 point to Magnetic Anchor(useful for pulling mobs and mobile bosses towards you),Overburning Cannon(useful even at level 1), Double Lucky Dice
Max Double Lucky Dice (useful,really)
Max Overburning Cannon (watch your damage fly!)
Max Pirate Spirit (stance, increases dps and no more irritating knockbacks)
Max Support Monkey Twins (increase its duration as it is really short)
Add 2 points to Cannon Bazooka and 1 point to Cannon Buster per level (to mix bossing and mobbing)
Max Hyper Monkey Spell (useful for wearing eqs)
Max Magnetic Anchor (longer duration)
Max Maple Warrior
Max Hero Will
Max Battleship Nautilus

Notes:
~Beware of Twin Monkey Support, it will pin mobile bosses in an irritating fashion, causing your attacks to "phase through" the boss. Watch my Pap solo video to see what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNHngLJRLa0 Various ways to fix this, also demonstrated in the video, namely Magnetic Anchor and not pinning the boss.

~If you do not have the skillbooks (CS does not have any corebooks), please do not add the other skills (unless there is a lot of points). Instead save them up or you will be like me. >.<

~Feel free to add a point to any skill for showoff purposes

~Add a point to Hero Will if you wish to fight bosses that seduce (HT)

Thanks for the guide.
I have questions for both 3rd and 4th.
1) Does maxing Cannon Jump increase your jump? Or just damage?
2) If you have the Special 100% Mastery book, should you max that particular skill first, regardless of your guide?

Thanks

1)It increases the damage only
2)In the case of selecting the wrong skill book, add that skill to level 5 then use the book before adding the other skills

All three of them are worthless but you'll use Cannon Jump most and sometimes it hits the mobs near you, finishing them off.Owait, adding Cannon Jump reduces it MP cost...So yes, please max it.
